1. Definition: It has too frequently been used as a code for identifying another person of being from a different culture or race other than their own. Increasingly inaccurate through a higher rate of children born with parents of DIVERSE racial backgrounds. 2. Compare with BINARY CLASSIFICATION OF PEOPLE, DEFICIT LANGUAGE, DIVERSE STUDENT, DIVERSITY, MAJORITY/MINORITY STUDENT, STEREOTYPE THREAT, STIGMA, STUDENT HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED, and STUDENT MARGINALIZED.
