Mitchell Davis:

Hey. I'm Mitchell Davis, CTO and Laravel developer.

Gavin Tye:

Good day. I'm Gavin Tye, CEO, sales and marketing and HubSpot extraordinaire. Oh, jeez. Okay. Dang.

Mitchell Davis:

I was just fluid.

Gavin Tye:

I was

Mitchell Davis:

just fluid. I'm just a Laravel developer, a lowly Laravel developer. Oh my gosh.

Gavin Tye:

I'm I'm non positional organizational positional, if you wanna call it. I had a good name for it the other day.

Mitchell Davis:

I was in the car going,

Gavin Tye:

oh, that's a great name, and I forgot it. I just I just remembered it. I remembered I forgot it.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Brilliant. Well, I'm glad we got that in in the in the first minute.

Gavin Tye:

I think I'm non positional. That's what I am.

Mitchell Davis:

Non positional. Alright. Very good. This is our longest intro ever. We are into year two of running your remote starter, sixsides.co, which is a community led events platform, and we are crushing it by the way.

Mitchell Davis:

We are documenting both the business and tech of our journey as we build our SaaS. How are you, mate?

Gavin Tye:

Mate, very well. Very, very well. Very busy this week. It's been one for the, I think, a significant milestone for the business, right, this week. It's been amazing.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. What are week.

Mitchell Davis:

Right. It's been awesome. So Why

Gavin Tye:

don't you elaborate? Elaborate. Like, let's let's get into it. Like, for those first time listeners, one time listeners, everyone.

Mitchell Davis:

Absolutely. So this week, we have successfully onboarded 1,100 athletes and counting from the World Police and Fire Games, which is huge. So at time of recording, they have about 6,000 athletes, and they've now contacted most of them. And we have seen a spike over the last few days of people making their way in to the app. We're yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

We're up to 1,100 now. So we're at about the 20% mark, somewhere around there, which is brilliant. And people are using it. They're actually using it, and we're getting a lot of great feedback. People are really liking it.

Mitchell Davis:

People are posting from all around the world. Like, we've got people from Canada and The UK and all sorts. It's it's really exciting and like fulfilling, maybe. I don't know if that's the right word, but like feels really good that the vision has, like, become a reality. You know?

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. Yeah. I I agree. Yeah. Spoke to the police games team yesterday.

Gavin Tye:

They've sent the EDMs out to 6,000 athletes. They've they're now posting into the the Facebook groups. So that's gonna go out today into 64 Facebook groups. And then they're gonna do another series of follow ups, one in a two weeks and then another one a little bit further down the track. So, yeah, we can expect a steady stream.

Gavin Tye:

It seems like there's been an influx this morning of a few. So, yeah, it's been it's been amazing. Like, some of the some of the posts that I can see, you know, there's someone here from where is he? From Brazil. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

There's a lot of Brazil people in there. There's a scary female Brazilian police officer. It looks like she could kill me with Brazilian jiu jitsu. We've got a Canadian golfer. I've seen Nigerian table tennis champions.

Gavin Tye:

I've seen the Philippines Taekwondo team and the karate team. Mate, it's so it's humbling. That's what it is, is to to see our vision and the World Police Games vision come to reality. Right? Like, built it for this particular thing, and it's just they've just taken it.

Gavin Tye:

They've just picked it up and run with it. Right?

Mitchell Davis:

Yep. That's great. Yeah. Yeah. It's super cool.

Mitchell Davis:

It was it was a little terrifying. I'd done as much prep as I could to make sure everything would be okay, but you still just never quite know. Right? You just don't know. And so I was still up at 1AM on the night of, you know, when they were gonna send it out and and then I wake up again at seven, 08:00, whatever on pretty low sleep.

Mitchell Davis:

And then we thought they were sending it out at, I think, 11:00, something like that. And then we don't hear anything at eleven and then nothing by 11:30. We're like, is it is the system broken or what's going on? Have they not sent it out? Turns out they had a couple hours delay on their side before they sent the first batch of emails.

Mitchell Davis:

And so as soon as they went out, we knew because it was instant. We were we were getting them. And the the way they did it, I'm really happy, they sent the first batch to basically just Australia and New Zealand, their athletes. And so everything worked really well. I don't think we had any real issues at all.

Mitchell Davis:

Then on day

Gavin Tye:

two Just some user error. Right? Which

Mitchell Davis:

is Yeah. Sure. That's gonna happen anywhere.

Gavin Tye:

It is. But it was so low. I think we've had three issues out of 1,100 people, really. And it's Yeah. It's been smooth considering what it was like when we did the first event in August last year.

Gavin Tye:

Right?

Mitchell Davis:

So Yeah. That's Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Much, much better.

Mitchell Davis:

Anyway, then on the Wednesday, they sent it out to other English speaking countries. And so that was another batch of 1,500 people or something like that. And all of a sudden, there were noticeable issues. So I had all of the like, replicating all all of the data out to different regions that we've got around the world to try and keep the app nice and fast for people. But the the login flow was like timing out basically for people.

Mitchell Davis:

It was taking, like, thirty seconds, and then the system kind of says, okay. No. This is something's gone wrong. We'll we'll stop this request. And so I then had to figure out what was going on there and just to do with database transactions and all sorts of stuff.

Mitchell Davis:

It was it was quite interesting problem to solve, like, under the pump basically. But we got that working within an hour or so. That was all sorted, and then haven't heard anything since. So I'm pretty happy with the the regional infrastructure that I set up a couple months ago now. Really happy with how that worked out.

Mitchell Davis:

And, yeah, it was good to see that it all went pretty well. You know? It's awesome.

Gavin Tye:

How much is this pushing you past your not comfort zone is not the right word, but is making you learn new skills compared to what you've done previously?

Mitchell Davis:

It's huge. Like, it's yeah. I've never built anything that I built products before, like, Laramates is something I set up, which was like a directory of Laravel developers all over the world. But I just hosted that only in one region. I hosted it in Sydney, and then, you know, if it happened to be take an extra second for a page to load for someone in America or whatever, wasn't worried about.

Mitchell Davis:

It's fine.

Gavin Tye:

Fuck it. But this no.

Mitchell Davis:

No. It's it's like for a product that wasn't making any money. Come on. But now we yeah. Fuck them.

Mitchell Davis:

Fuck them. But for this project, it's really important that everything is nice and performant. And so, yeah, setting all of that up, it was a first time thing for me to learn how to do all of that. And, yeah, it's fun. It's a great opportunity for me to, like, personally grow a bit with it.

Mitchell Davis:

It's been awesome. So, just glad it worked out. Because if we had have had another Denmark situation, gosh, what a nightmare. Like we had for Laravel Live Denmark, the the replication did not go so well. So glad we got it sorted.

Gavin Tye:

But you needed that to be able to get to this. Right? Like, it's yeah. It's No.

Mitchell Davis:

I I could have been I I would have been happy to have not had that happen and just had more time to get the ducks in a row like we've done now. I wouldn't be much happier for that. But, anyway, it's that's behind us now. So, yeah, it went really well. It's driven a couple other things forward.

Mitchell Davis:

So you, as you said at the top of the show, have been in HubSpot. Why don't you tell us a bit about that and how the campaigns are going?

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. Well, look, my knowledge of hub HubSpot, although I've used it quite a lot over the years, has been limited because I'm more focused on selling and not managing, like managing data. And we just some of the the clients that we had when I was at Redeye, for example, or the client or the database wasn't that massive because our client our our ideal clients weren't that large, our large enterprise. So one thing that we've been racing is to try to get everything together and set up so we can at least order the data in a way that we can at least try to help people if they run other communities use six sides, which is we're taking a lot of the functionality out of the police games and making that accessible to the, smaller communities around the world. And but it's been a race to do it, and it's kinda we've met at the right point in time and we set up a campaign.

Gavin Tye:

So now everyone that joins up from six sides, we fire off the integration into HubSpot, and they're all going through a welcome welcome email series and onboarding series. And then the the sixth email after a couple of days is to say, hey. If you do run like another community or you're a community leader and you like this functionality, we would love to maybe put you on a wait list to help you grow your compute community, blah blah blah blah, beyond the police game. So we're not we're I think we just started. Email three has just started going out today.

Gavin Tye:

Now they go out a little bit longer over two days now, so it'll slow down. But, yeah, like, I've got all that sorted. Took me a while to get sorted with HubSpot. Like, HubSpot has limited ability with the MCP to doing like, to do things inside HubSpot. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

And I thought I was given a bum steer a little bit by the HubSpot sales guy. Yep. Which is another topic. But I ended up installing the hubs the Chord extension, and that is that was been that's the game changer. It can do everything now.

Gavin Tye:

So Yeah. This is

Mitchell Davis:

the the Chrome extension for Chrome. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

The Chrome extension. Yeah. Yeah. It just runs in the background. It's been great.

Gavin Tye:

It's gone, no. I can't do that through the MCP, but I can do it through your browser. And I was like, yeah, go for it. And it's just Yeah. It does everything now.

Gavin Tye:

So Yeah. So we've been ironing up out that campaign, and we were doing the same things. Like, we had an issue here where our our DKIM and all that weren't set up properly because it was set up in the old HubSpot, not in the new one.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. That's right. Yeah. So our emails the very first batch of emails, a lot of them went to spam. But then since then, we got it sorted like straight away, and now the rates are much better.

Mitchell Davis:

Right?

Gavin Tye:

It's like 70% open rate. Yeah. And and now they're starting to click through on now they're familiar with who we are. They're starting to click through onto our website now, and they're starting to become familiar. So I wanted to get that sorted.

Gavin Tye:

And now next week, I'm gonna set up a campaign for the existing users who have been to a six sides event. And I'll I wanna I'm just really thinking about what I wanna say there, but the goal is to turn attendees into community organizers or event managers. And that's how we start getting product like growth. And I think we have a real shot now, which is really, you know, we've been working this for two years now. It's been Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

It's been awesome. Yep. Did you wouldn't have seen the video I sent you this morning on on Slack about the founder of Stripe?

Mitchell Davis:

No. I didn't.

Gavin Tye:

There's a video of him. They were building Stripe for two years, and they went live in what they yeah. They went live after two years, and they had 50 users on a platform. So very similar to what we had. It's very similar to what we had.

Mitchell Davis:

Mind getting 2% of the global GDP or whatever Stripe currently has. Yeah. That sounds good. Let's let's shoot for that.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. But but it just goes to show, like, I've seen a graph before, even though you release to the market and foreign product market fit can be quite lengthy in between. And just the conversations this week, because I've had a lot of a lot of sales meetings this week, the conversations about what we're doing and how we could help associations. And there's a big push for community at the moment. Like the isolation and loneliness is more noticeable and that we're we're positioned to be able to help in a way that I think even some of the community building tools out there who largely focus on online communities aren't addressing.

Gavin Tye:

So, yeah, it was really I think we're heading into a really interesting space, to be honest. Really interesting time, I should say.

Mitchell Davis:

That's awesome. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. It's great. Yep. So I guess that leads me into quite a few meetings I've had this week, mate. I've met quite a few like, circled back with a few people who were interested in the community building aspect of what we were what our goals were and showed them today.

Gavin Tye:

And there's two in particular. One was volunteering WA, Holly Hazel. She was like, this is amazing. Like, and how would you see this being rolled out around the state of Western Australia? So we had a conversation about it, and she was like, this is my mind is racing so much about what's possible now.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. And she was really impressed that the evolution of the platform from when they used it just for an event as an event platform. Yeah. And they they've got their conference coming up in the later part of next year in November again, and we were talking about the community building aspect of it. And I was like, then you would just get the app for free.

Gavin Tye:

You wouldn't pay for that as a stand alone. That would just be part of the community. And she's like, oh, okay. Right. So it was yeah.

Gavin Tye:

And and there's been some other evolving conversations this week about community managers and all this kind of stuff that has really opened up another avenue for us to be able to monetize what we've done because that that's the next that's the next thing is how do we monetize this in an automated way or a way that is the people see value, but we also get the I guess we also get the appropriate level of enumeration for what it achieves in a business or an association. Right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

Yep. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. There's plenty of stuff there to think about.

Mitchell Davis:

Right? But it's exciting times. It's awesome.

Gavin Tye:

Yep. Yeah. Yeah. And I also met the Gold Coast this week, and they they have like it's not it's community in isolation program officer, right, where they do a lot of programs to try to help the community connect. And she was saying, yeah.

Gavin Tye:

Look. We we do these lunches, and we do these events, and people connecting. And she was like, we got no way to help them continue on the conversation afterwards. And I I showed her about what we our thoughts were on that. She was like, this is really interesting stuff.

Gavin Tye:

So Yeah. She said she gave some ideas on grants and stuff like that on on how to approach it, like speak to the councils in the region and stuff like that because they're big on community. So there's some food for thought there. But and yeah. So that that that's a like a work in progress.

Gavin Tye:

So there's about three or four different levers I'm trying to pull that will pulling data that a little bit once removed from the other things so we can join it all together. And I think if we can do it in a way that's really strategic, I don't know. I don't know. It feels like we're in a great position right now. Good.

Mitchell Davis:

That's what I wanna hear. Awesome. Yeah. Yeah. Well, good one, mate.

Mitchell Davis:

Okay. Well, on my side of the fence, the marketing side is live. So hopefully, you all went and checked it out. We have got a a bump in traffic as we started sharing out some links and things Mhmm. Which has been awesome.

Mitchell Davis:

So, yeah, really happy with how that's turned out. Really pleased with the design. We've got a couple more pages coming through as well with Robin, some illustrations and other things. But, yeah, it's all gone really well. I even got, like, some we got an announcement page put together for the police games and then a use case page as well for the police games or a case study.

Mitchell Davis:

Not quite sure, but it's all a bit of a blur. But, anyway, that's all up on the site and even did, like, some open graph images, which is like when you share it, it's got that preview image, and that all went pretty well. So, yeah, Claude came through clutch for that, which was great. That's a lot of what I was doing on the Monday night right before we launched on Tuesday morning was, yeah, getting the marketing side sorted. So, yeah, really happy with how that worked out.

Mitchell Davis:

And it was like the my plan came true of being able to use Claude to kind of replicate what Robin had done on the homepage and then take that same styling and apply it elsewhere. Worked really well. So, yeah, really stoked with that. It's a cool workflow.

Gavin Tye:

And Yeah. Really opens up like the speed of that. Like, we could do bespoke landing pages for industries, which we're gonna do, but we could test different things on landing pages. We need a lot more traffic, of course. But, yeah, we could spin up things really fast.

Gavin Tye:

Right? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Yep.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. And now we have a it's kind of like a style guide almost, you know, not from Robin, but in what he's given us. And then now our like an agent, like us implementing a new screen or whatever in the on the marketing site would be able to take that same style and just use it anyway, you know, which is awesome. So, yeah. So that's gone pretty well.

Mitchell Davis:

Really happy with that. We set up intercom.

Gavin Tye:

Oh, before we just get off that before we get off that, are we finished with him? Or he did ask about what other 10 things that we needed from him or 10 That's right.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. So he's got some illustrations that he's gonna bring to us, some icons and things. So I've just I think I've gotta go back to him with those. But, yeah, other than that, I think we're then finished. He's delivered what he needed to.

Gavin Tye:

Sure. So there's only those 10 icons we've gotta get back and then we then we're done.

Mitchell Davis:

That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

And we've already paid. It's sitting in a what's that called? An escrow thing. Yep. Yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

So, yeah. So that's pretty exciting. And like, honestly, it was a pretty awesome experience working with Robin. So maybe if ever there's anything else that we wanted at some point in the future and, you know, as we're making more money, if there's budget for it, like, yeah, this was great. I would do this again.

Mitchell Davis:

I don't know about you. But, this this was really good.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. It's an interesting thing. Like, how we've interacted with him hasn't hasn't been focused around meetings. It's been chatting backwards and forwards. Like

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. It's all async.

Gavin Tye:

If if we offer a service or an additional service up on top of six sides trying to get to that that communication style so we're not having meetings and it's easier for the client.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

It's something to keep in mind. Right?

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Certainly makes it a bit easier when we can get to things as we need to.

Mitchell Davis:

So, yes, a 100%. Yeah. So this week, we also did Intercom. We got that up and running, and we've started taking in some support tickets through there, which is great. So this is my first time using Intercom.

Mitchell Davis:

We've got it embedded in the app itself. So Intercom publishes, like, some widgets effectively where you can have their messenger product inside of your app. So, we did that and people have been using it. So, yeah, we've only had, I think, three different issues. But so far, I think maybe 10 tickets or so.

Mitchell Davis:

And, yeah, that's been pretty good. There was a couple of issues that were like the same issue under the hood. We had some, like, some caching and things that were going on. So saves to user profiles weren't quite getting saved. They were getting saved, but then someone would refresh their page and they would see their old profile.

Mitchell Davis:

So anyway so, yeah, being able to reply to those. And I'm using Claude Code via MCP to go look at HubSpot and Sentry and pull all of that in together. And then it can look over the code base and try and figure out, oh, yeah. Okay. This is why this is happening, whatever.

Mitchell Davis:

And it's brilliant. Like, yeah, if you're not using MCPs to connect to all of your tools, like, are missing out for sure because it's brilliant. So yeah. So that's been pretty good. So just this morning, we went through and looked at Intercom together I could show you, and we both started replying to support tickets.

Mitchell Davis:

So now we'll stay up up to speed on that together. And for now, we will cover the support. Yeah. This morning, we went through all of the tools that we use and, like, kind of had a bit of an audit of that, made sure you had access to everything in case something happens to me. And this is something that we should have done right from day one, but it's done now.

Mitchell Davis:

So, yeah, we've catalogued all the tools that we use. We know where, like, where to log in, what our usernames are. And then obviously, we use, like, LastPass and whatever for actual passwords and stuff. But, yeah, it felt good to go through and do that. I know it was a bit taxing for you.

Mitchell Davis:

It's a bit just you don't you didn't seem to enjoy it very much.

Gavin Tye:

Oh, who does? Setting up setting up all like, the authentication app for about 10 different apps and then Yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

A lot of two factor codes. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

Oh, gosh. But it, you know, it needs to be done, so it's done.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

It's it's necessary. It's

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

But it wasn't pleasant, but it

Mitchell Davis:

is It's not the most fun, but it's now like I feel a lot more confident that, okay, you'd be able to give someone else access if you needed to, you know, if something happened to me. So, that's all we were trying to solve today. Because I've got access to most things that you use because you pointed out, like, you you deliberately try to use as little things as possible. And I do too. It just so happens to be that there's a shit ton of stuff that I we have to have to be able to run the app.

Mitchell Davis:

Right? So yeah. So, anyway, we got through that. That was good. Some other things that we've done today, we've set up some projects for the team, the dev team to work on while I'm away to try and make it so that they've got some larger projects that they can just kind of run with for, you know, a week or so at a time.

Mitchell Davis:

And I'm not having to get on linear every single day and make sure they've got a ticket for this afternoon and whatever. Like, I wanna I wanna check out mostly. So I will be working. I guess if this is your very first episode, I'm going away on my honeymoon on Monday. So as you hear this, if you listen to it when it got released, I'll be flying over Northern India right now.

Mitchell Davis:

So I've gone and had a look at where I've been. So

Gavin Tye:

So wave.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Wave. If you happen to be in Northern India. Yeah. But, yeah, I'll be going away for five weeks.

Mitchell Davis:

And so we've got a a dev team of two developers here at sixsides, and I need to make sure that they've got projects to work on. So Martin will continue working on Deal Buddy, which is what he's been doing now the last weeks, and you're gonna take over doing check ins with him. And and you're gonna do that once or twice a week. So he'll be fine once he's got Deal Buddy, the work in particular that he's doing to a point that it's like ready to release, that's when I'll sort of step in. And I'm my hope is that that's, like, three or four weeks from now.

Mitchell Davis:

So I've got a bit more time before I have to help him with actually deploying it. And then, Raymond, we're gonna have working on a couple of features in the app, and this will be for six sides and for the police games. So I'm gonna add some more languages for translation of UI. And so far, that seems to be resonating with the police games athletes. We've already had one request for someone could we add Polish as another language?

Mitchell Davis:

So that's kind of nice that people are in there and they're looking like, hey. What languages are there and can we add more? So, yeah, we are looking at what other languages we could add. We think we can turn that around fairly quickly using Claude. Then over the next couple weeks, we'll have Raymond working on translating user generated content.

Mitchell Davis:

So community posts and people's bios and things like that. We've already got some of that work done, but we need to get the front end the mobile app up and ready to support it. Then we've got some speech to text stuff. So we're going to the goal is for two people that speak different languages to be able to sit down together and have a conversation through the app. Now we know that this is something that you can do now in, the Google Translate app or Apple has something for this as well, but we'd like we'd like to have a go at doing it all just inside of one app that everyone has access to because, you know, if we wanna help people feel less lonely, if you're the only person there who speaks a certain language, you know, like, might be nice to be able to provide that for them to have a conversation.

Mitchell Davis:

Right? So, yeah, so that's something too that we've also got a lot of the back end work done on that, but we need the mobile app to be updated to support it. And then finally, after all that's done, I expect that's probably gonna take a couple of weeks, and then we'll look at moving on to chat. So already we're having people wanting to be able to send private messages to other people in the app, which is great. And and that's something that will get released hopefully late October, early November.

Mitchell Davis:

We'll have that feature ready to go. So a month or two ago now, we did a proof of concept on that, and it went really well. But, yeah, there's just a couple things that we've gotta get through and before we can push that over the line. So, yeah, that ought to be probably enough to get through the next three, four weeks without me having to constantly be overseeing things. So, yeah, it's exciting.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. Absolutely. Mate, what time of the day are you flying over Northern India?

Mitchell Davis:

Well, seven a. M. Sydney time is when the show gets released. And so, yeah, at that point, that's when I'll be flying. It's a two leg flight, so there'll be a stopover in Singapore.

Mitchell Davis:

And then and I think it's for a couple hours. I don't know. They've gotta refuel the plane or whatever and then onward to London. So if you wanna follow along, if you're a plane nerd, you can look up Q f one for to Qantas, and it's it's number one. And, yeah, it'll have that same code for both legs, so you can just you can check-in, see where I'm at as you're listening.

Gavin Tye:

The reason I ask is because if it's daytime there, Everest, you might be able to see Mount Everest. It's a 106 kilometers from the Indian border. So you probably have to look at the left of your plane if you're somewhere in India.

Mitchell Davis:

Gotcha. Okay. Brilliant. I'm sure the the captain might, well, might point that out. But anyway, yeah, that's a good call out.

Mitchell Davis:

I'll I'll have a look. I don't know what time of day it will be for me. It might be at night. I'm pretty sure actually it will be at but anyway, we we will see how I go with that. So, yeah, Mate, did you have anything else to talk about?

Gavin Tye:

No. I'm just having a look at the QF one, mate, flying on the Flight Tracker app. I can see one of them flying already. Yeah. No, mate.

Gavin Tye:

It's just like, I'm really excited to see where the next few months go. Like, we're been doing the AEO posts the last couple of weeks as well. So the team are just trying to pump out as many of those as we can because we know it takes time to get up and running. It's starting to there is starting to be a little little change in the in our citations. We are getting referenced a little bit.

Gavin Tye:

Like, it's not huge, but it's better than nothing. Yeah. And then now it's like, I wanna get this new this new new campaign up and running for existing users and reengage with people I've already spoken to. I've already spoken to quite a few. And then the next thing when you come back, we need to figure out, like, what's our pricing structure to move forward, right, to go from $0 through to enterprise, and then how are we gonna position that?

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. And then I think then it's a real push onto going out and getting people onto the platform and then trying to work them through that funnel up the value ladder Yeah. Which is exciting. You know?

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. It's finally go time, you know, which is great. Yeah. Yeah. So you and I are gonna catch up at least once a week while I'm away.

Mitchell Davis:

So we just gotta book in a call, like a set of time, and I've still gotta figure out exactly what we're doing on each day. Nicole has largely booked everything, so I just don't know all the details right now. But, yeah, we'll find a time to meet once a week even with time zones, and then that way you can keep me informed on what's going on. I think that would be good because, yeah, when I was in Tassie for the week, I did just kinda disconnect. I needed it.

Mitchell Davis:

But this one is gonna be I'll be working and I'm okay with it an hour a day while I'm away. That's that's the plan, but I'm going to try really hard to stick to it because I've now seen what happens when I don't and when I just completely check out. So that'll be an hour a day across like my other projects with Atlas and other businesses I'm involved in, six sides obviously. And then also talk prep for giving a talk at LariCon in November. And so, yeah, I need to keep pushing forward with that too.

Mitchell Davis:

So Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. I think if you switch off too much, it takes you too long to get back into it. Right? It's a couple of weeks. So,

Mitchell Davis:

yeah, I just can't afford that. There's no time.

Gavin Tye:

Yep. And then we had to push you back in the end of October, then it's a six week push into Christmas. So Yeah. The year's coming up so fast.

Mitchell Davis:

It is. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

So fast. Crazy. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah.

Gavin Tye:

Look, I think I'm gonna start pushing and hopefully while you're away, I can get a couple of different maybe a couple of different clients, new clients on board. We got a couple of events coming up with some new clients as well. Yep. And that will breed more people coming into the into the platform as well. Two of those are around communities as well.

Gavin Tye:

So, yeah, it's it's gonna be interesting the next six months. I'm I'm you know, I think we're only just starting the hard work now, like, because it's gonna be we're developing the we developed we developed the code, but now it's about how do we get people in and optimise them getting onboarded and all the that into the platform and using it. Right?

Mitchell Davis:

Think we've made a product so far. Now it's time to make a business.

Gavin Tye:

Yes. I would agree. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

We got some interesting ideas on that. We've been speaking about that. It's not the time to talk about it now, but we'll we think we can offer something to associations and not for profits or even smaller groups where they couldn't necessarily afford to hire someone, we think we can we we we want to investigate a possibility of doing something that would potentially unlock a lot of value for businesses, which is exciting. Right? So

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.

Gavin Tye:

Cool, mate. So this is gonna be it. We're we're gonna take a break for a while. We might have a couple of surprise guests over the next five weeks. I'm lining up one or maybe two.

Gavin Tye:

And

Mitchell Davis:

Shit, are we? Are you gonna do the edit?

Gavin Tye:

You're gonna drop it on me. Edit. Yeah. No. I'll do the edit.

Gavin Tye:

So we will but otherwise, we we've been going strong for two years. Right? So we need to maybe even both of us just have a break from here and we'll regroup when you come back from

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah.

Gavin Tye:

When you come back from OS.

Mitchell Davis:

That's right. Yeah. Yeah. We'll we'll look at picking it back up in late October. I think that would be great.

Mitchell Davis:

And then I'll be seeing you in November. So maybe we could do another recording then in person. That was that was fun last time. So, anyway, we'll we'll see. But, yeah, we will be back.

Mitchell Davis:

It'll just be in five or six weeks, something like that. So yeah. Alright. Well

Gavin Tye:

Trip. Have a good trip. And if you do get hit by a bus, it's been fun.

Mitchell Davis:

It's true. Hopefully, it'll be a London bus, a double decker. One of those big red ones. That'll be good.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. Yeah. Yep. So where where are you going? What's your holiday?

Gavin Tye:

Where are you going?

Mitchell Davis:

We're flying to London and then immediately, like, within an hour or two, flying to Edinburgh in Scotland. From there, we're going to Amsterdam, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Paris, and then finishing in London. So, yeah, it's like it's five weeks, seven countries, I think. And then Nicole is actually we're flying out of London separately. I'm coming back home, and she's flying to China to go on a trip with her cousins for two weeks because she loves travel.

Mitchell Davis:

And for me, this five weeks is gonna be a lot. I I, of course, like a holiday, but after a couple days in Tassie, I was like, yeah, okay. I'm kinda itching to be back home. I think I'm a bit of a homebody. So, yeah, it'll be a challenge for me.

Mitchell Davis:

And she of course, she offered like, hey, do you wanna join me on this cousin's trip? And I was like, absolutely not. I've got too much to do. Not that it gets the cousins, but I got like businesses to run here, and I'm gonna be sick of travelling by the time we get to five weeks, let alone seven. So, yeah, it'll it'll be good.

Mitchell Davis:

I'm really looking forward to it. There's people have asked me, like, is there anything in particular you really wanna see? No. Not really. Kinda just wanna see everything.

Mitchell Davis:

It'll be my first time to Europe. We'll just see how we go. I'm sure I'll have a ball. And Do you know the

Gavin Tye:

we went to New York. The the best thing that we stumbled across when we went to New York, as soon as we got to New York, we did the big city bus tour, like the red bus, whatever they do. Yeah. And it gave us a overview of the city and where we wanted to go. And after that, we're like, oh, yeah.

Gavin Tye:

When we're going along, let's go back here. Let's go back there. And it was helped us not have to navigate around, but gave us a good overview.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Okay.

Gavin Tye:

Yeah. It was really it was it was amazing. Yeah. Like, as soon as you get there, do a big red like a like a bus tour, have a look around. Then, yeah, it gets you settled.

Gavin Tye:

It was it was phenomenal.

Mitchell Davis:

Okay. Yeah. Cool. Alright. I'll keep that in mind.

Mitchell Davis:

I'll pass that along to trip organiser Nicole. I'll let her let her take care of that.

Gavin Tye:

Have you have you built a custom GPT for it to so you can chat to it? No.

Mitchell Davis:

No. I'm not not that eager. Yeah. That's okay.

Gavin Tye:

It's easier now.

Mitchell Davis:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright, mate. Why don't we call it there?

Mitchell Davis:

Where can the people find you online?

Gavin Tye:

Mate, they can find me online at mostly in the world police games right now, like app helping monitoring, which is great. But on LinkedIn, Gavin Tye, t y e. And, yeah, again, if you have a community or you're a community leader or wanna build a community for your business, reach out to us. We will love to help you do that. Put you on our wait list when we start bringing people in, which will only be we'll probably be starting in the next two weeks bringing some people in.

Gavin Tye:

So yeah.

Mitchell Davis:

And you can get that wait list on the website. So just go to sixsides.co, get started or join the wait list, whatever it says, and Gavin will reach out to you. You can find me in Europe. You can follow my flight q f one as you're listening to this. And otherwise, you can find me online on LinkedIn at the handle Mitch Dev.

Mitchell Davis:

Probably won't be putting up any trip stuff. But, anyway, that's okay. You you can follow-up.

Gavin Tye:

So if you see Mitch in the street in Europe, are you okay if people come up to you and ask for an autograph?

Mitchell Davis:

Absolutely. We'll just take a selfie. I don't don't need an autograph. We'll just take a selfie or something.

Gavin Tye:

You don't you underestimate yourself, mate.

Mitchell Davis:

Yep. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe. Alright.

Mitchell Davis:

We will wrap it up there. So we will catch you all in five, six, whatever weeks. And, yeah, I hope you have a good time, and we'll catch you then.

Gavin Tye:

Alright. Thank you very much.
