It's August. That means it's football season. It's football time. We already had one Hall of Fame game. We have preseason this week. Yep. Week two coming up next week. We're in full swing at this point. Yeah. We've had some good starting quarterback play, some good bench play. Shout out to Tanner McKee. It's just, we're back in the swing of things and I couldn't be more happy. This is a beautiful moment. It's beautiful, but it's also not because beautiful, we're happy football's back, but the pain that comes with it.
For everyone who plays fantasy, we're doing a deep dive and a mock draft coming up. And for everyone who just watches, has a favorite team or bets the games or does things like we do where we pick every single game or play survivor, whatever it may be. ⁓ Football season is so fun when it's there, but it's so brutal at points. ⁓ So brutal. It really affects my Sunday. No, no, not Sunday. Your life, it affects your life.
Yeah, you know, sometimes I'll be it'll be a Tuesday and be like dang I probably should have won last week or that sucks that I lost or whatever But Sunday it like I can't I get stuck on it. It does I work to the point where I love football I'm like turn it off like turn I can't deal with the pain anymore It's just like annoying me like Nico like CJ Stryer throw him the ball from the sorry. Yeah I would say more and more than Sunday though, like when you're locked in on fantasy and
It's a bad week. It's just so hard to like, you just know you're going to drop in the standings and you just know it's like the worst part is when your player gets injured during the game and it's like, it's an injury that you don't really know. like.
you are constantly refreshing Twitter and everything trying to be like, what's the news? said, that looked bad. Exactly. Or like, that's like the day of. And then you get to Monday, you're like, want to see, did I have an MRI? What are the tests looking like? Then Wednesday comes around, you're like constantly waiting for the alert to say, like, is he at practice? Is he limited? Is he full? Like, there's so many things that it's just crazy. Yeah. I can't deal with it. It's, my God.
I don't know if I'm even excited or if I'm just nervous. I can't tell. Yeah, no, I think you're excited. Of course I'm excited. What I'm going to do, because I was talking to somebody I work with about it, we're bringing a survivor pool to the office. How are you going to do that? Just maybe put in a couple of dollars, send me your pics, owner system. So you're just going to hold it? Yeah, let's do it. feel like it won't be that.

We love fantasy. It's pretty embarrassing that we both haven't even come close. I I came in second a couple times. But other than that, no. I've been playing since eighth grade. And I was probably about 14 in eighth grade. I'm 23 now. Yeah. Never won. And I've been in multiple leagues. Never won. I don't know. I don't know what it is. I say it every year.
But I do feel good this year. That's the kiss of death right there. you feel good, you know you're What's your buy-in, by the way, for the CH league? 150. Ours is also 150. Yeah, both 150. then... So, you can up that? Yeah, we want to, but some guys don't want to yet. We want to give it two years at 150. Two years? What is it, a contract? Yeah, this is the second year of 150. Then we could go inflation. So, whatever. Ours is gonna be like 300, thanks. The one I'm in with one of my friends is 500.

I know people like 10-man leagues. even think 10-man is too small. It's 12. 12 is actually the perfect number. 14 is way too many. 14 is more. Because 8-man is like an entire team. You're all first round picks pretty, like first, second round, third round picks. 8 is a joke. 10 is still a joke, but less of a joke. But I feel like if you're at 10, you just got to find two more people. You got to find two more people. And you can't do... think one time I was in like a 4-man.
And was just ridiculous. Then you got like Jamar on the bench. It's terrible. I hate that. If there's too many points, that's annoying. Yeah. So I'm in three leagues as well. have my own singular league and then I co-manage with Jack and then we also co-manage one together. Who's we? Our league is pretty interesting. Me and you. The league we work do together is actually pretty interesting because I've never seen it. It's kind of, it's like soccer, right? Where
the top three teams in each, there's three divisions, right? So there's like the top division, the middle and the bottom, right? And then the bottom three teams in the top division go down. The top three teams in the second division go up and like, you see how it goes from there. The bottom three teams in the second division go down to the third division. So what are the bottom three teams in the third division do? Nothing. they stayed there. They get executed? Yeah, no, they don't. But I mean, dude, it's really hard because like to come in top three, it's things still have to go your way, right? Like
Especially when you don't know any of these guys in this league. you can't make trades. We don't make trades and even though whenever we try to make trades with them, they're always like, what are you talking about? And we're still doing waiver wire here. Yeah. Come on. We got to be at Fab now. yeah. So it's still waiver wire? I mean, I think it is. I think it is. Like it's priority. It's got to be. Yeah. Priority waiver. Come on, guys. We're not in ninth grade anymore. We're not doing waiver. We're doing Fab. You know, people like auction. Your salary cap derived or whatever. interesting.
You're against ⁓ it. I'm a snake guy. think snake is always, it's just classic. It's like, I mean, it's, look, I have no, I have no problem with salary cap. It's just a completely different strategy. It's a completely different ball game because it's like, if I don't go for my guys, I might end up overspending or like on someone else. Exactly. So it's really tough. It's a lot to, it's a lot to balance. A different strategy. Yeah. Fantasy.
We'll get into a mock draft. We're going to do that fantasy footballers style. We're each going to have our own pick. Yes. And we're going to go through it. Talk it be interesting. We'll share the screen. guys can see what we're what we see. Yeah. I think it's going to be kind of fun, because I haven't mock draft at all. Like, I haven't done any mock drafts. Neither have I. Yeah. Watch a few episodes. Yeah. Watch a few mock drafts. But it's never, it's nothing like it when you're in it. It's never. You never wish you think. The mock draft is never the real Well, I mean, usually we go against the Do as many as you want, many as you can.
Somebody's gonna reach for somebody, somebody's gonna let someone drop. And the mocks are never accurate enough. I think do as many mocks with other people as you can. ESPN has one, right? Try to join other people because when you go with the computer, they're just gonna take the highest person at that average draft position, so pretty much whoever is shown to you. And that's usually not how it goes, right? Because ADP is not always the like...
Stickiest stat or the best thing to look at because like sometimes people get hurt sometimes it could be it could be a 13th round I'll never draft Chris a lot. Yeah, exactly in his 80p 13th round. I think the whiskey works better with the lemonade, like, sourish than the teal-ish. Because they kind of clash a bit more. Tequila kind of just lets it go. It's nasty. Moscow Mule. Yeah. Which is, I mean, that's still something.
All I know is you better just give them a good tip. Listen, I tip well when I'm feeling good. So I'll tip well. Always. Anyway. Yeah, I don't really know. Like I don't never been to a festival. I'll just ramble. We've been posting, anybody who calls Simbros, we've been posting about betting the over-under on this year's games. On this year's regular season win totals.
I mean, you know, it's obviously so easy to go in before the year and be like, how could this not hit? But I'm looking at it like, how could it not hit? I feel like I went at it all wrong. I used to think about how was it last year? And last year will completely determine how this year works, right? The Cardinals were eight, for example, the Cardinals were eight and nine last year.
And they got better, their team got better. So I'm thinking, the team got better. So they obviously will have a better record. No, no, no, no, no. There are so many factors that go into this that people don't realize when it comes to schedules, when it comes to injuries, people who play. James corner played 17 games last year. He is not going to play 17 games this year. I can tell you that right now. All these, like all these types of things. I actually played 16, just letting you know. he missed that one game. Yeah. He always does. Yeah. He always does. He did. They talked about it on the footballers. I'm pretty sure he missed

It shows us yesterday that we both ordered something and like I didn't even realize that we ordered it and it I went downstairs to the apartment today to the lobby and I found like our order that we had yesterday just sitting out there. That's how like crazy of a week this is felt and it was just like there's a lot of things going on. ⁓ I think just work wise and just other things just like trying to manage. like whatever relative storm you're going through I think it always will end right and you always get to a point where like you can relax and get through it but.
The only way you're able to get through it is by actually just doing it. Because if you face your fears or if there's something going on and you turn the other way or stop pursuing something because it's rough in the moment, then that means you're even going to be farther away from it. And if you can't get through it during the tough times, you're not going to ever get the ability to experience the good times. That's what I think was going through for me. Can't have rainbow without a little bit of rain. Yeah, you have to be willing to.
Just do it, right? Like all the things you don't want to do and just like embrace, like even us, right? Embrace when we're having bad days or like, you know, we don't get views on videos or, you know, things don't go well at work or things like anything, right? It doesn't matter what it is. Like everyone will have bad times because the bad times are what makes the good times great, right? ⁓ And I think also another thing that was super interesting and we talked about it too was Rainn Wilson ⁓ interviewing.
Andy Bernard, right, from the office at Helms. And he was like the quote where he's like, ⁓ you don't realize that you're in the good old days until after, which I think is really crazy. Right. Like, and it makes you think back to all the other times you're like, you kind of even though, you know, it was mundane or there was like you homework to do, like college or whatever it was, like when you look back on like whatever the quote good old days and I hope you're still making the good old days in your life right now.
You think you're like, man, I would go back to that, right? Like, are those really were the good old days, right? They were. Yeah. And not even that, like even now when we look back on these moments, right? We'll be like, remember we were doing this? 100 % when we were hungry. Yeah. Exactly. Now we're really a little baby. Yeah. Alright, let's dive right in. I feel like we need a fantasy football. ⁓ Not even that. Like the Simbrose mock draft. you know, the fantasy football. yeah. dun dun dun dun dun. Whatever. Yeah, we're a little far away from that. We'll get there. We'll get there. Somebody, somebody make that clip. Alright, let's start it. Let's break it down. So first, first things first, this is a 14 team half PPR league.
standard 1QB, 2 running back, 2 receiver, tight end flex. With a little bit bigger of a league than most we'll see out there. We're doing 14 for a specific reason. Chris and I have the 6 pick in our shared league. We haven't done any mocks. We want to practice and see what kind of more rounds 2 through 5 look like at the 6 pick. Again, this is not even close to what it will be like on draft day.
just to get an idea and you guys will, you'll hear our thoughts of how we think about, you know, draft strategy, et cetera. I also have the 10th pick just to see what it's like at a different spot, just to, you know, help us out. Yeah. All right. Anyway, and you guys can almost see everything. We have the screen behind us. So we're about to start this Mark draft right now. We are in. We see pretty, pretty easy. ⁓ interesting already.
Yeah, for the listeners. Yeah, I'm about to go ahead. So, Jamar Chase 101, Saquon Barkley 102, I think that's very interesting already. Bijan Robinson at the 103, Justin Jefferson at the 104, and then we have Derek Henry at the 105. right now I'm looking at... So we talked about this. So said at the 106, you're thinking running back. Yeah, I'm thinking running back at the 106 just because...
And just listening to some mock drafts already, think coming back in the second round, especially in the 14-team league, there's not a lot of running backs left over. Like, I'm more OK with the receivers. So I'm down to go with Hero RB in this situation and maybe go double receiver. So right now, I'm looking at two players. I'm looking at. Gibbs and McCaffrey. Jameer Gibbs. Oh, you didn't even let me say it. Oh, I was just saying, right? Yeah, Jameer Gibbs. But Ashton Gentey's there. I don't like him. Definitely not taking him at the one or six. saying? Right, right. I'm looking at running back. Definitely not. Jameer Gibbs.
who I really do like, but Montgomery is always there. And then we have McCaffrey. That's the interesting one. Because I think both these players could finish as the overall RB1. I think we've seen what McCaffrey has done. We have. And I think with the 49ers scheduled the way it is. He's not slipping. Yeah. He's not coming back for us. I mean, I think I thought about it today that I knew where I wanted to go. And I think this is where I wanted to go in the real draft. So.
I'm hitting McCaffrey at 106. So from there, we have C.D. Lamb at the 107, Jameer Gibbs at the 108, and then Puka Nakua at the 109. Again, that's probably where the computer comes in because we have some issues with Matthew Stafford. Hopefully he's OK. But I would probably say that Puka goes later than this in the real drafts. It depends, though. All depends on Matthew Stafford's health. Right. 100%. He'll take us through. I'm looking at it right now.

two receivers. For me this was more less of a fit, of this is the best player available. Plus if he's my wide receiver too, I'm in a great spot. Yeah, I mean. I'm not gonna reach on Bucky. Amon Ra and AJ are pretty, it's a pretty good pretty good tandem. we see. So now. Kyron go off the board, then Lamar with the interesting one, and then we got Bucky Irving. See, okay. Off right I'm looking at the wide receivers right now and I'm not happy. I'm more, I think I'm happy.
I'm happy to have JSN, but I think in this situation with... So here we go. We have Christian McCaffrey, the 106. That could be our hero RB. We see Jonathan Taylor available, who I don't really... I never have loved him a ton. ⁓ We have Chase Brown available. Are we reaching there? That's a question. You think Chase Brown gets back to the one? He probably doesn't. And then wide receivers, have Lad, JSN, Tyrekeel, T Higgins. See those... So those four guys are not moving the needle.
I think you know Andy really loves JSN. I think JSN could be really good. I don't like him as my one. I don't like him as my one I don't like Tyreek Hill as my one. I agree and I also don't like T Higgins or Lad McConkey as my one. So I think well, we don't have a one. So in my situation I'm looking at the running back position here. I'm also looking at the running backs. Running back or tight end? That's your question. Yeah, Trey McBride is a solid pick. I think Trey McBride is a solid pick. Yeah.
⁓ I'm looking. ⁓ I'm leaning either Trey McBride or Chase Brown. I think I'd rather always take the multiple position pick. So right here, we're going Chase Brown. So we start off with McCaffrey and Chase Brown. After that, Jonathan Taylor goes off, Josh Allen, Tyreek Hill, Lad McConkey, ⁓ Trey McBride, Jaden Daniels, Marvin Harrison, James Cook, JSN, and Breece Hall. So that brings us up. I really wanted Marvin to come back. Marvin's the number one. Didn't think he was going to. Yeah.
⁓ But really wanted more of a comeback there. Yeah, so now at this point. And also tough because T is a great receiver, but you can have T and Chase Brown. Yeah, very tough. You just thought about that. Very tough. So at this point, we're in a tough predicament because. This is interesting. I know. is an interesting spot. Very interesting spot. And I think I know what I'm thinking too. What are you thinking? ⁓ It's very tough though. So right now, McCaffrey and Chase Brown.
On the wide receiver side, we see T Higgins, Garrett Wilson, Terry McClellan, Mike Evans. Hampton. Yeah. And then on the tight end side, we see Kittle. And then we also have on the running back, Omari and Hampton and Alvin Kamara. So I think right now I'd actually be between, which is very tough, I'd be between George Kittle and Omari and Hampton in this situation. you like any of the receivers? See, here's the thing. Here's the thing.
I really don't like any of these four guys right here.
I really don't like any of them. What am I saying? I was about to say something dumb. I thought to say what? Wilson is going to get a lot of a lot of targets. I mean he is but he's not the one. I can't be the one. I think I would take I would but we also have McCaffrey with Kittle. That's another thing. No. Yeah. Not doing that. So Hampton. I mean the only reason why I really like Hampton here is that like he can be our flex in this situation which is pretty good and and
Like by the end of the year, he could easily be in top 12 RB. if you have CMC having those two guys, especially CMC could get hurt down the road having Hampton on the other side. Very interesting. We never play this way. I guess this is why we mock draft. All right, let's see it. We're taking three, or I'm taking three running backs. We're taking three. McCaffrey, Chase Brown, Omari, and Hampton to start. And then Terry McCormick goes off the board. Nope. Mike Evans and then Garrett Wilson and now Kamz on the clock with Amon Ra and AJ Brown.
Very interesting. different, you have two receivers. And now I know exactly where I'm I know exactly where I'm going. It's the same, it's the same. Take us through it. Yeah. I know exactly what I'm doing. I have two wide receivers. Wow. It's not great. It's not great, I'm looking, there is a great still tier two or three, whatever you want to call it, wide receiver. Right. And the last one that is T Higgins. Wow. Yeah. We probably be trading with each other. I like, I love T Higgins. T Higgins as my flex. That is a winning strategy.

This is just another reason people like best available, like positions are obviously very important, but if you, if there's a clear tier drop off, if, just the flow of the draft has gone heavy running back and yeah, you might've already had a wide receiver. If that wide receiver is not supposed to be there, you better take them. Yep. So just don't, don't worry. You saw bro. worry too much about ADP. running backs and then.
You're like, probably think we need a receiver. We probably do, but there was no one there who was moving. We could have gotten T, but we already had Chase Brown. You don't want that. So we're going take Amari Hampton. Tyrick Hill is the perfect number two with Amon Ra. Because you have somebody so consistent with Amon Ra, Tyrick Hill could be the number one wide receiver or the number 100 wide receiver. That's just how the Dolphins are playing this year.

both of us win or none of us win. So that's why it's pretty funny because like, I can't win a championship before Cam and Cam can't win one before me. So it has to end up being one year and both us win at the same time. And you know what? actually think this is the year. I don't know if this is the year. I just feel like when we do win, it will be both of us. And that's just how it works. I think what first has to happen is we have to win the league. We have to get to the playoffs. I know. It's terrible.
