[SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive into the art of consulting with your safety shirt for himself, Sheldon primus.
[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is powered by Safety FM.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, King, let's get you guys thinking about being a safety consultant because that's what we do here.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, welcome to the Safety Consultant podcast on your whole Sheldon Primus.
[SPEAKER_02]: The podcast where I teach you about the business of safety consultant,
[SPEAKER_02]: safety consultant, see?
[SPEAKER_02]: Becoming a safety consultant, I like that one better.
[SPEAKER_02]: We go over OSHA compliance and sometimes we talk about regular general safety and health.
[SPEAKER_02]: The month of September, we talked about mental health, so go back and listen to those episodes.
[SPEAKER_02]: We do a lot of things, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I do.
[SPEAKER_02]: I try to help you guys out with all I can.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we are in part two of our series, so part two of the series right now is going to get you kind of one step closer to starting your own business.
[SPEAKER_02]: So next thing we're going to talk about is your ethical side hustle.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, you want to do a side hustle.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's starting your business while you're still currently at your job.
[SPEAKER_02]: Best way to do it, because it takes off some pressure.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're not working, then go ahead and, you know, you could do your business right now, but if you are working, honestly, you definitely want to get started.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's start your business now, because you want to
[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you start your business right now, you're ageing your business When you get ready to go full-time It would have like a two-year-old mark or three-year-old mark or how a rail-longer takes you to go full-time It's okay As long as you're not stealing any clients from your current employer You want to do this at the key That word
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and it's honestly going to help you where you could truly get to see if this is something that you want to get into.
[SPEAKER_02]: So for instance, let's say that you have a two week vacation coming.
[SPEAKER_02]: Take a week and work on your business now, plan ahead, so you're not trying to get business for that week But maybe that's a good time for you to host your own a week long See you continuing education unit classes or something like that
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm assuming you want to do your best to practice and try and do the hard work while you're still working and getting that paycheck, you know It's going to put a lot of pressure off you
[SPEAKER_02]: So, honestly, if you are just starting your business, you're going to really want to think about the simple things, get yourself articles of incorporation, getting your EIN, which is employee information identification number in the U.S., if you're in another country, please get the equivalent of your articles of incorporation and your employee identification number.
[SPEAKER_02]: In the US, I actually think it's probably more than US, but there's a done in broad street.
[SPEAKER_02]: You want to get that to bread, bread, and D&B.
[SPEAKER_02]: Get your D&B number.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not day math, you spend the M&B, D&B.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to get that number?
[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're going to need it.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to have to...
[SPEAKER_02]: prove that you're a legitimate company and this is the time to do it so get your name like I talked about in part one of the series if you have not listened to part one go back and listen to that but you want to truly start getting the groundwork and the foundation stuff done and then get your hustle going while you're still employed.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, the 9 to 5.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's necessary.
[SPEAKER_02]: When you get into being a consultant, you're going to get ups and downs and highs and lows with your organization and your company.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, my as well just do your best and try to work your current job as you start your business.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, it's a port.
[SPEAKER_02]: it helps you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It gets you ready, it helps you get your client.
[SPEAKER_02]: But remember, don't steal any business from your current employer.
[SPEAKER_02]: What you're going to do is you're going to truly set things up for you without being unethical.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's an important part.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, very quick, like a nice quick episode
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't go quit and say hey, Sean told me to put my two weeks notice and then I'm gonna do it right now
[SPEAKER_02]: And not say that, don't put words in my mouth.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, you guys got this.
[SPEAKER_02]: So go out there, get your foundation, and re-listed to part one of this series.
[SPEAKER_02]: Part two right now, you just keep going while you're going to be employed and you get your business going, and then part three, we're going to get you to
[SPEAKER_02]: be recognized as an expert.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so listen up to next week you're gonna get how to get it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Some recognition as an expert in your field that'll be going as a consultant.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, go again.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a wrap for today's safety show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, safety isn't just about hard hats and caution signs.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about business smarts too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for joining us on the safety consultant show with Sheldon primus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Until next time, stay safe, stay savvy, and keep consulting like a boss.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go get him.
