Now take off your shoes and stay a while.
Let's get started.
Well, hello, my friends, and welcome back to From My Father.
Today, we have a really fun episode.
You're going to love it.
I'm with my girls again, and we're going to do something called Don't Think, Just Answer.
So you do not get to think about it.
You have to literally, whatever's the first thing that comes to your mind, you got to say.
But like, do we like hit a beeper or are we all three answering?
You got to all three do it.
At the same time?
I mean, don't over talk each other, but you know.
But, you know, I like to start with what is your burden and your blessing?
My burden is all the laundry that has been stacking up in my house.
Well, it doesn't really stack up.
It just never ends.
And at some point you think it should stop, but it doesn't.
That's my burden.
But my blessing is I couldn't get my espresso machine working right.
Like it just wasn't giving me good coffee.
But I started using instant espresso.
And it is like some of the best coffee I've had in a while.
It's so good.
And it takes me three to five minutes.
You'll have to send me the brand.
Three to five minutes in the morning.
You don't drink caffeine anymore.
I'll take your word for it.
No, I can do the decaf version.
Oh, yeah.
They have decaf version.
And it's really good.
Is it good?
It's really good.
Okay.
Delicious.
What about you, Pay?
My burden is that my car is really dirty.
Whenever my car is dirty, I feel like I can't think straight, but I don't have the time to clean it.
I could probably make time for it, but whatever.
My blessing is that I have marriage counseling tonight.
I'm very excited.
The countdown is on.
Countdown is on.
My burden is picky toddler eaters who don't eat anything that I make for them.
And they probably survive off of the little applesauce pouches.
And macaroni and cheese.
And the noodles.
Because literally I thought Callum wasn't picky and I cooked something the other night and he took it out of his mouth and threw it on the ground.
I remember.
So we had to make him a grilled cheese.
That's hilarious.
And then my blessing is that I ate it because he didn't.
Yes, and then my blessing is this life.
You're good.
You're good.
All's good.
That's the point.
Well, we're going to get right into it.
This episode's not going to last that long, but I just thought it would be fun to throw something fun in.
It would be fun to throw something fun.
But do you need to answer any of the questions?
No, I don't.
This is only for you, but it's kind of about me.
Oh, no.
Okay.
Hey, slay, slay, slay.
All right, ready?
Okay.
This is technically not true, but I'm going to fire off with this first question.
Okay.
Who is my favorite?
Me.
I don't have a favorite.
Mom!
I don't have a favorite.
Why did you answer for us?
She felt convicted of me.
That's not what I've heard.
No, let's all three agree that Ethan is your favorite.
Oh.
No, Ethan just gets babied way more.
Mom, you know you have a heart for Ethan.
Like, Ethan could do no wrong in her eyes.
Yeah.
I do love my son.
Did you say me?
No.
But I do not have a favorite.
I do love you all.
Cubby's your favorite?
To the guts.
Not recently.
All right, ready?
Which sister is most dramatic?
Go.
Payten.
Payten.
I think it's Addie.
No, Payten is dramatic.
They both said Payten.
It is definitely Payten.
Payten's dramatic over small things that shouldn't be dramatized.
Y'all say that, but I feel like I can't say anything around y'all without y'all being like, yeah, whatever.
And then as soon as y'all start talking, I'm like, you're so right to feel that way.
I don't know if we've ever come out with that sentence.
I said that was me talking to y'all.
I think Pay is more dramatic.
And I think it's always been that way.
But I think it's because her and mom are kindred.
I'm more emotional.
I can spiral easily.
We're going to move forward.
Which sister is most like me?
Payten.
That's what I literally just said.
That has to be true.
I feel like that's true.
It is true.
Which sister is most like dad?
mom mom's going like this behind her computer mom's going like this so hard and fast because she's had so much time to think about it so she knows the answer that's true it's definitely me all right ready
All right, ready?
Who takes the longest to get ready?
Pay.
Definitely not me.
I think it's Rhalyn.
Not me.
It's not me.
It's between you guys.
Mom, you know I wake up literally 20 minutes before I have to leave.
I think it's ready on the way.
I did my makeup as I was driving today until we're sisters.
We're all talking over each other.
I probably take the longest because I...
between us no it depends on like y'all's makeup has to be perfect like is it for the day like just a random day or like if we're going on a date or something definitely it's definitely you because Payten gets ready in no time she does get ready fast but like sometimes it stresses me maybe because I'm getting ready while I'm doing 50 other things maybe
I literally texted them this morning and said, why does my makeup always turn out perfect when I'm doing it while driving?
That is dangerous.
It's because you wait until the last second.
Don't do that ever.
Driving, please.
Guys, real talk.
Rhalyn used to drive with her, with her things down, going like this.
That's what I did this morning.
Do not expose me, Addie.
At Rhay.
This is how Rhalyn drives.
Mom, but I fear she may still be a better driver than you.
Mom, even at my most distracted state, I'm a good driver.
Oh, my goodness.
And I'm Zooming.
All right, we're moving forward.
Who's the most likely to be late?
I don't feel like any of you guys are late.
We were trained.
It is against my inner... I feel like you guys are all pretty much... I'm very passionate about people being late.
Yeah, I don't like being late.
You mean you're passionate about people being earlier on time?
Yes, but I also passionate.
If you're late, I have feelings toward you.
All right.
Moving forward.
I don't know who this would be.
Who spends the most money?
Pay.
Not me.
You just said at lunch you were a spender.
I'm a spender, but it's like you did go to lunch.
I mean, we can say me.
I buy a lot of, like, I don't buy a lot of expensive things.
I buy a lot of little cheap things.
Payten spends a lot of money on food every single day.
Food and clothes.
Mom and dad only have ingredients.
And I don't have the time these days to sit down and cook.
Mom and dad have hardly any time to even think about getting groceries.
But on a consistent basis, I think it's Payten, just overall.
But you would drop a lot of money like on one thing.
Yeah, before I got married, I was a spender.
I'll say that.
Let's just say me.
Engagement season, you have to be.
You have no time to do anything.
We'll just say it depends on the season.
All right, we'll move forward.
We don't know who that is, really.
Who's the worst texter?
Addie.
Addie, I'm not kidding you.
I feel like it's Rhalyn.
I am a great texter.
Rhalyn answers you if she likes the question you ask her.
No, no, no, no.
That's because she wants to suck up to you.
That's because she's trying to suck up to you.
Mom, Rhalyn, I'll ask her something she doesn't like the question she doesn't answer.
I'll say another thing she likes two seconds later and she'll answer that one and still not answer the one above it.
I asked her five times, please let me take your family pictures.
Y'all are so cute.
Didn't answer until she needed family pictures.
And at that point, I didn't want to do it anymore.
Oh, but you did.
That's nice.
No, I answer when I need to answer.
If I don't, then I'm not.
Sometimes I think in my brain I answer because I reacted to it in my, like, out loud.
But I don't actually answer.
I was saying, which is not important.
Do you literally?
I have more important things to do.
We'll bypass the last three texts and put something up about your steak.
Why?
It's most of the time about Royce or Callum that I'll answer to.
Yeah.
And Archie Luke, but you just missed the three last texts about what God did.
I like those ones too.
And sometimes I read it and then I like mentally respond.
That's what I'm saying.
Like family chat, I see other responses and I'm like, I agree with that.
So I don't feel like I have to add my two cents.
Or in the sister chat, I say answer.
But I do agree that Addie's the worst one.
Mom would text me separately and say, can you answer?
Or she goes, can you please react to my message so others will react.
Where's Addie?
Who would call me first in a crisis?
Me.
Yeah.
I knew.
Maybe that's just because she's not married yet.
No.
You act like you did that before you were married.
No, I feel like Rhalyn calls me too.
And I feel like you're starting to call me more.
I called mom five times a day at the ramp.
And I'm not being dramatic.
You called me a lot towards your end of the ramp.
But not since you've been married.
I still call you and text you everything I'm doing all the time.
Yeah.
I'm passionate about just sending a text.
You're passionate about a lot of things this episode.
Or FaceTime me so we can, you know.
All right.
I think I know who this is.
I'm not sure.
All right.
Who is most likely to cry during an argument?
Addie?
Yeah, Addie.
I thought it was me, but I guess Addie.
Addie when you're talking about the Lord.
Payten, when it's, well, I think Ethan.
Payten cries.
Ethan's not here.
No, but Ethan will start crying.
Payten cries when other people are in an argument, like trauma like this.
throwing up it would be Payten and Ethan if I'm really frustrated and I feel like you're not listening to anything I'm saying I go on the porch and cry I do not cry I rage remember you came out to me crying and I was listening to give me Jesus I cry when people get upset at me I don't cry in argument all right I know the answer to the next one are you ready who holds a grudge the longest
Rhay.
I think I do a little secretly.
I have to work on it.
Like against siblings or just in general?
No, I don't ever hold grudges against.
That's definitely Rhalyn.
Yeah.
They're still.
But it's because Rhalyn, the flip side of that, she's extremely loyal.
Really?
So then it makes you like.
Not to boost me, but I'm.
But I feel very protective.
That's one side of it over things and people that I love.
And I'm really loyal.
Yes.
Which means if you cross me or my family.
Now, I hold a grudge the longest if you do something to my siblings.
I want to cause turmoil.
But I've gotten better.
Yeah, because we walk in the spirit.
All right.
Ready?
Mm hmm.
Who got away with the most going out?
You didn't even.
I just almost yelled so loud.
You didn't even let me push.
I knew where the question.
Why didn't you act like I did stuff?
You, Payten, you jumped on my head under the trampoline one time.
Under the trampoline?
I was under the trampoline.
Addie was under the trampoline.
Payten jumped on her on purpose.
She would only do things when y'all weren't home.
That's how you know I didn't do anything because that's the only story you ever bring up one time.
My only flaw.
Payten, I don't even have to know if you ever did anything to know that you got away with it.
If I ever did anything bad, I would tattle on myself.
I was the only one who got caught, apparently.
The only reason we didn't get away with anything is because you would tattle.
Yeah, no one would tattle on you.
No one would tattle on you because we're loyal.
It's funny how y'all are loyal.
It's funny how y'all are loyal that when there's any question, it's all like, you, you.
Where's the loyalty here?
Oh, I'm loyal and honest.
I think by the time it got to Payten, we were better parents.
We were more seasoned.
And it's not that she didn't try to get it.
She really, I didn't have to spank her much.
I did.
Mom, you didn't have to because you didn't want to.
You didn't have to because you didn't want to.
No, she did not.
I have plenty of reasons why she should have been spanked.
I did so much for y'all.
I don't know what y'all are seeing.
Payten, it's okay.
Can I say something?
They're always coming on my back, and I was their slave.
Y'all don't understand.
They did not lift a finger for the first 16 years of my life.
You really didn't.
You would have her go in your beck and call.
Hey, when you were 16, I was 25.
That was two years ago.
I was 23.
Before I went to the ramp, I did everything for y'all.
So I don't want to hear it.
And I didn't complain either because I wanted y'all's approval.
I will take up for her and say that.
She always gave me the purple popsicles.
The ones that were not good.
All right, ready?
What phrase do I say all the time?
Diddy.
Was that dunce?
Yeah, was that dunce or...
How much?
When we ask, when you can't hear anything, we say you reply with how much?
That's nothing to do with the question.
Or you go, shut up.
What's a phrase she says, babe?
She says, like sometimes she'll say Cubby, she'll see Cubby walking and she'll be like.
Or her eyes start watering and she goes, I don't want him to die.
Or she'll lose like in a card game and she goes, I'm the laughing stock of the town.
Mom always thinks that we're putting at her.
Who was our hardest on?
Probably me.
Addie.
I don't feel like I was hard on you.
You must not remember.
Definitely, Addie.
Playing hardest?
They agree.
I feel like that you messed with everything.
That's the thing, though.
I could not walk out of the room and you were messing.
Mom, I'm thinking about when I was 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.
Steven.
I know.
That's when you were messing.
That's when you were messing.
Well, one time I got in trouble seven times on one Saturday.
That was me too one time.
And I said, I don't know what more to do.
And every time he would come out, we'd have to go back to our room.
This was the worst Christmas of my life.
It was Christmas Eve and me and Addie snuck our phones into the room.
And mom walked in after we went to bed and we were on TikTok.
Really?
And mom took our phone on Christmas Eve.
I would have too as a mother.
Wait, TikTok was back then?
This was like... No, this was musically.
Five years ago.
Out twisting.
Sorry.
Oh, my goodness.
All right, moving forward.
Four years ago.
How do you... What was one thing about our family that you thought was normal until you got older?
Ooh.
Ooh.
Not being able to sleep over on Saturday nights or having to go to bed early on Saturday nights.
Like when I grew up and realized like, wait, my friends get to stay up late on Friday and Saturday.
I thought our only weeknight was.
My whole world was flipped upside down.
I'm like, wait.
We all know we had to guard Saturdays.
wait mom used to gaslight us and put us to sleep at like five i remember going to bed when it was pure daylight outside sometimes like like the sun was shining through our room i know one that when i grew up i thought we got scammed and it was you have to practice going to bed early for school to come in during the summer you'd start two weeks before school started you'd start putting us to bed earlier you and dad just wanted some time together
No, this is what I thought it was normal for parents to pick up their kids to go to the beach.
But that was only us.
Mom used to pick us up probably twice a week.
She would start picking us up from school so we could go to the beach with you.
Oh, absolutely.
Miss Fantano did not like that.
And they knew our schemes.
And by the time Peyton graduated, they did not like us.
I walked into class one day and my teacher said, is that a swimsuit on under the top?
No.
i say and what it do and what it is too personal of a question really all right ready day in the room who would mom trust who or who would i trust the most with a secret me probably raylan just because she's no explanation needed honestly everything it's the ladies of the further explanation needed
If I got arrested, what would it be for?
Oh, mom!
If you got arrested, I'd come visit you and take a picture of you behind bars.
For kidnapping my children.
Y'all would video it and put it on social media.
I'd be like, pastor's wife gone rogue.
She's like this.
She has bags under her eyes.
She forgot her pillow.
Pastor's wife can't sleep in jail cell because she forgot her pillow.
I can't.
I can't.
I can't.
I can't.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Oh, my goodness.
All right.
We've got to move forward because...
Oh, all right.
Imagine a mom's mugshot.
It would be the one.
Imagine.
When her hair's pulled back in the wrong direction.
Right when she wakes up in the morning and she looks like Cubby.
And her hair's in the left button behind her head.
Oh.
All right, I've got to literally move forward.
All right.
All right.
Oh, I don't know why that would be so bad.
All right.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
All right.
I got a lock.
My phone is locked in.
All right.
Who said I got a lock?
All right.
Hot.
If you could steal one thing from my closet, what would it be?
Nothing.
Please, another thing.
Please, another thing.
I can't believe it.
Remember when I had to wear your clogs?
No.
I'm going to pee.
I'm going to pee.
You have cute jeans.
Thanks, dad.
Today in the car, mom has cute stuff from Airy.
Like the sweatshirt.
Well, your sets.
That's what I would steal is your sweatshirt.
Today, mom talked to chat and said, hey, chat GPT, are skinny jeans in?
Thank you.
Because I have skinny jeans on.
Chat said no.
Chat said no.
Chat said the laughing emoji.
Chat said the laughing emoji.
Chat said no.
She named her chat Sunshine.
Okay, I didn't know how bad I needed to laugh.
Okay, I'm glad that y'all like something in my closet.
They said nothing, so that makes me feel better.
Describe me in three words.
Danny.
Funny.
Unique.
Unique.
I would say, like, what's it called?
Whimsical.
Whimsical.
Whimsical, like... Sleep creature?
It's fun.
Like, easygoing.
Spontaneous.
And loving.
You're up for an adventure, but only if you feel like it.
And only an hour and a half away.
And then you want to come back to the house.
You don't like staying anywhere else but the house.
But you think about a lot of people.
Just consider it.
Yeah, like you're loving.
You care about people.
Oh, okay.
I'm crying.
Well, that was good.
All right.
What is one thing that you hope you carry from our family and to your own?
Our competitiveness.
I do not.
Our love for games.
Yeah, I mean, I do want my boys to be competitive, but we take it to the extreme sometimes.
Well, I want them to love sports.
Yeah, I want them to love the Dallas Cowboys.
Love watching football and love.
The get-togethers, the vibes.
And I want them to love music.
Yes.
I want my family to love music.
Like how we always sing around the piano.
We spend a lot of time together.
It's so much fun.
I love it.
We're going to finish with this.
Two questions.
My mom will never know how much blank.
I love her.
Oh, my mom.
I bring her up in conversation.
Really?
To other people.
That's a good one.
Might be my mom for real.
My mom will never know how much I want to be like her.
Why'd you wheeze before?
I'm going to cry.
Do we need a moment?
He went from this to this.
That is so sweet, Ad.
You're welcome, Mom.
Lately, Addie's become the favorite.
I'm wondering.
Rhalyn felt the shift off her no i did i love this still on me we go next time we got to pull ethan in here yes we need ethan and royce this has been fun wait i have a listener question from me for all of us what's our favorite song right now like worship song worship and like boppy
This isn't really worship, but it's Abby Gamboa.
She just released the Ways of God.
I haven't listened to it yet.
It's so good.
It is so good.
I love it.
I haven't heard it.
It's just like a little pop Christian song.
It's really good.
And Abby Gamboa and Lizzie McAlpine are releasing an album on my wedding day just for me.
So I'm very thankful.
Honestly, I've been loving Thank You, Jesus.
Mm-hmm.
I love that one, too.
That one's good, too.
I honestly haven't sat down and just listened to stuff.
You like jazz?
I'm in that kind of season, but it's okay.
And all things Disney because of my baby boy, Royce.
Baby boy.
You've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me.
Well, thank you guys.
This was fun.
And I laughed so hard.
Me too.
My head is hurting.
Anyway, thank you guys.
And we can't wait to see you next time.
