Day 13,767 - Interview with Larry Ordway.mp3
Transcript
00:00:02 Kevin
All right, gang, Kevin here, Life 22 Studios, and I've got Larry Ordoay, the man, the myth, the legend.
00:00:08 Larry
Yes.
00:00:10 Kevin
So most people know Larry.
00:00:11 Kevin
He's kind of an icon around town.
00:00:14 Kevin
He's always volunteering at the senior center.
00:00:18 Kevin
The mayor's usually giving you awards.
00:00:20 Larry
Yep.
00:00:21 Kevin
You've won, what, father of the year?
00:00:22 Kevin
Yep.
00:00:23 Kevin
A bunch of times from different organizations.
00:00:25 Kevin
So
00:00:27 Kevin
Larry is a staple of our community.
00:00:29 Kevin
And I was talking to somebody the other day and I said, what?
00:00:33 Kevin
I know Larry.
00:00:34 Kevin
I can call Larry.
00:00:34 Kevin
He'll always answer the phone.
00:00:36 Kevin
Larry, he'll shovel for you if you need him to.
00:00:39 Kevin
He'll call us and we've donated tools to you before to help out with the flowers uptown.
00:00:46 Kevin
And it's one of those things.
00:00:49 Kevin
So it's like, I was telling my wife, I said, I don't
00:00:52 Kevin
I don't know where Larry's from.
00:00:53 Kevin
Is Larry from Oleand?
00:00:54 Kevin
Larry has a kid.
00:00:55 Kevin
I don't know much other than that.
00:00:58 Kevin
I get a Christmas card from Larry every year.
00:01:00 Kevin
Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself, Larry?
00:01:04 Larry
So I live here in Oleand.
00:01:06 Larry
I do have a son.
00:01:07 Larry
He's 19 years old.
00:01:09 Larry
He lives with his grandparents because he has spinal bifida.
00:01:14 Larry
So he's been living with them since the baby.
00:01:19 Larry
And I've been doing everything on my own.
00:01:23 Kevin
Gotcha.
00:01:23 Larry
Yeah.
00:01:24 Kevin
You from Olean originally?
00:01:26 Larry
Oh, yes.
00:01:26 Kevin
Yeah?
00:01:27 Kevin
Born and raised.
00:01:28 Larry
I was born and raised on South 16th Street.
00:01:31 Kevin
South 16th, okay.
00:01:33 Larry
Yep.
00:01:34 Larry
And we all moved, you know, our family moved everywhere in Olean and
00:01:40 Larry
Then last year, my mom passed away.
00:01:42 Kevin
Oh, I'm sorry to do that.
00:01:43 Larry
Yeah, and me and my brothers don't, me and my brother and sister don't get along.
00:01:49 Larry
But me and my brother Bruce, we get along good.
00:01:54 Larry
And he comes and helps me out and sees what I need.
00:01:58 Larry
And he comes and does like my workers do.
00:02:02 Larry
I'll come and check on me every day.
00:02:05 Kevin
Okay.
00:02:06 Kevin
Do you,
00:02:08 Kevin
So your brother and sister live in town?
00:02:10 Larry
My brother and sister don't live around here.
00:02:13 Kevin
Oh, okay.
00:02:13 Larry
My brother Bruce lives in Eldred.
00:02:15 Kevin
Eldred, okay.
00:02:16 Kevin
All right.
00:02:17 Kevin
I was going to say, I've only heard of Larry Ordway.
00:02:20 Kevin
I haven't heard of anybody else.
00:02:21 Larry
Yeah, my brother Bruce, he's been there for me.
00:02:24 Larry
I've been there for him.
00:02:26 Kevin
Gotcha.
00:02:26 Larry
Yeah, and I have 5 workers from Allegheny Arts Program.
00:02:32 Larry
I used to go through rehab.
00:02:35 Larry
But we got rid of them and I went on their board and we've been doing good.
00:02:41 Kevin
Okay.
00:02:42 Larry
I lost two toes, one last year and one this year.
00:02:45 Kevin
Would you stub them real hard or?
00:02:48 Larry
I had a cyst on both of them.
00:02:51 Kevin
Okay, so to prevent cancer from spreading or something?
00:02:54 Larry
I have diabetes.
00:02:56 Kevin
Oh, gotcha.
00:02:57 Larry
But yeah, I'm doing a lot better now.
00:03:00 Kevin
Oh, that's good.
00:03:01 Larry
Last year was a
00:03:02 Larry
couple weeks of being in the hospital.
00:03:05 Larry
But this time when I was in there in October, I was only in there for four days.
00:03:10 Larry
Thank God.
00:03:11 Kevin
Right?
00:03:12 Kevin
Oh yeah.
00:03:12 Larry
The hospital food sucks.
00:03:14 Kevin
Really.
00:03:15 Larry
Yeah.
00:03:16 Larry
Yeah, it does.
00:03:16 Kevin
I'm probably the only guy that likes hospital food.
00:03:19 Larry
The chicken is not good.
00:03:22 Larry
No.
00:03:22 Larry
No.
00:03:23 Larry
They need more stuffed than chicken.
00:03:26 Kevin
Right.
00:03:29 Kevin
I was just saying, does that, so missing 2 toes, does that interfere?
00:03:31 Kevin
Because I know that every, usually every year you're taking a, what is silver or gold medal in bowling, right?
00:03:37 Larry
Yeah.
00:03:38 Larry
We're going to be doing different this year.
00:03:43 Larry
It's going to be in Buffalo only once in February.
00:03:49 Kevin
Okay.
00:03:49 Larry
Because they got new programs, so now it's only going to be in February.
00:03:55 Larry
our bowling league will be.
00:03:57 Kevin
Okay, gotcha.
00:03:58 Kevin
And that bowling league, that's through the Special Olympics?
00:04:01 Larry
Yep.
00:04:01 Kevin
Okay.
00:04:02 Kevin
And so you get, you take silver and gold almost every other year I see.
00:04:07 Kevin
The mayor's always giving you an award and you know.
00:04:10 Kevin
So that's.
00:04:11 Larry
And then the fatherhood, I was going to start back up, but the guy, he's ill and he doesn't do it no more.
00:04:20 Larry
So
00:04:22 Larry
I missed that program, but what can you say?
00:04:26 Kevin
Right, I mean, programs like that are really good.
00:04:29 Kevin
There's a lot of parents that they don't know.
00:04:31 Kevin
I mean, I always say every parent doesn't know, right?
00:04:34 Kevin
You see what your parents did and you just kind of fake it till you make it, man.
00:04:37 Kevin
And a lot of times people need a helping hand because fake it till you make it doesn't always work.
00:04:42 Kevin
Right,
00:04:43 Kevin
It's good to have programs like that.
00:04:45 Kevin
It's good to see fathers in the home and helping out with their kids and stuff.
00:04:48 Larry
I met a lot of people in my, in the fatherhood class.
00:04:53 Larry
I did the, had the cops come over one year, do a graduation with me, with the mayor.
00:04:59 Kevin
I saw that in the paper.
00:05:00 Larry
Yeah, that was awesome.
00:05:02 Kevin
Yeah.
00:05:03 Larry
So yeah.
00:05:05 Larry
I like it here.
00:05:07 Kevin
No, it's a home for a lot of people.
00:05:09 Kevin
That was part of the reason why I wanted to do a segue like this.
00:05:12 Kevin
Like, hey, we interview tons of people.
00:05:15 Kevin
We've been interviewing aldermen, people that are trying to represent the community.
00:05:19 Kevin
And it's, you know, at the same time, we've got guys like you, Larry, that represent the community, you know?
00:05:24 Larry
Yeah.
00:05:24 Kevin
You know, it's, like I said, you're a staple.
00:05:28 Kevin
Oh yeah.
00:05:28 Kevin
You know, what would,
00:05:31 Kevin
What would people do without Larry?
00:05:33 Kevin
You know what I mean?
00:05:33 Kevin
Helping out down at, I was talking to somebody earlier, I think it was yesterday.
00:05:38 Kevin
They said you were helping out all summer down at Zett's, over at the Bistro.
00:05:42 Larry
Yep.
00:05:43 Kevin
Helping, you know, helping a small business and, you know, like, you know, it's...
00:05:47 Larry
Yep.
00:05:48 Kevin
You work down at Rena's too, don't you?
00:05:50 Larry
I volunteer down there.
00:05:51 Larry
I volunteer at 7-Eleven.
00:05:54 Larry
I used to, but until they got a new manager, they told me I couldn't, so whatever.
00:06:00 Larry
I do what I can do.
00:06:02 Kevin
Right.
00:06:02 Kevin
I was going to say, I remember the one day I walked in with my son and there was some guy out by the dumpster and you had to come and grab the manager.
00:06:09 Kevin
And I walked around with the manager because the minute, well, whoever the staff guy was, he didn't seem to be too burly.
00:06:16 Kevin
And I didn't think, I was like, man, you never know what you're going to find for people living behind dumpsters.
00:06:20 Kevin
So I might have to be his and Larry's backup.
00:06:23 Kevin
So I walked around with you guys.
00:06:25 Larry
Yeah, that was nice.
00:06:27 Kevin
Yeah.
00:06:29 Kevin
I was going to say, I wish to see you down at the John Ash Senior Center.
00:06:33 Larry
Yep.
00:06:35 Larry
I do inside work now till summertime.
00:06:40 Larry
Then I will go back on the road with my worker and deliver meals to house to house.
00:06:46 Kevin
Oh, okay.
00:06:46 Larry
And then I will be doing this afternoon, Harvest Field, their Christmas dinner.
00:06:54 Larry
With Pastor Doug.
00:06:56 Kevin
Okay.
00:06:56 Kevin
Yeah, that's right down here, right down on West State.
00:06:59 Larry
Yep.
00:07:00 Larry
He's a good guy.
00:07:01 Kevin
Oh, yeah.
00:07:02 Larry
I met a lot of pastors in my life, and they're all good people.
00:07:07 Kevin
Oh, yeah.
00:07:09 Kevin
So I was going to say, we'll get you an invitation before you leave here.
00:07:14 Kevin
We have our company Christmas party coming up.
00:07:16 Larry
Okay.
00:07:17 Kevin
The Slum Lords Ball.
00:07:18 Kevin
We throw it every year.
00:07:20 Kevin
We throw it every year.
00:07:21 Kevin
This year it's going to be over at the
00:07:25 Kevin
We're doing it at the Bebco House this year.
00:07:26 Larry
Okay.
00:07:27 Kevin
Do you know where the Bebco House is?
00:07:28 Larry
No, I don't.
00:07:29 Kevin
So right across from the library.
00:07:31 Larry
Oh, okay.
00:07:32 Kevin
There's that house with the cobblestone retaining wall.
00:07:34 Larry
Oh, okay.
00:07:35 Kevin
Yeah, we just acquired it this year and I was telling my wife, I said, you know, every year we pick like a house that's under construction or an abandoned, you know, an abandoned, you know, or an apartment under construction and we try to hold the slumlord's ball there.
00:07:46 Kevin
So that's kind of where I was going with it and she was like,
00:07:50 Kevin
and I was like, that house hasn't been decorated in like 30 years since Dr.
00:07:54 Kevin
Bebko passed away.
00:07:55 Kevin
So my thought was, I'm going over there later this afternoon and I'm going to start putting up Christmas trees and getting lights on it for the holidays.
00:08:01 Kevin
And then, so we'll get you an invitation for that coming up.
00:08:05 Kevin
It's going to be the Saturday after Christmas.
00:08:07 Larry
Okay.
00:08:08 Kevin
But, you know, still in the vibe of Christmas.
00:08:10 Larry
Right.
00:08:10 Kevin
You know, so.
00:08:14 Kevin
And you're on social media too, Larry, right?
00:08:16 Larry
Yep.
00:08:17 Kevin
So if anybody's looking to reach out to Larry and say, hey, Larry, we appreciate what you do, or just send kind thoughts or whatever, be Larry's friend on Facebook, right?
00:08:26 Kevin
You're on Facebook.
00:08:26 Larry
Yep.
00:08:27 Kevin
Perfect.
00:08:28 Larry
Yep, I'm on Facebook and...
00:08:31 Larry
I get text messaging too.
00:08:33 Kevin
There you go, yeah.
00:08:34 Kevin
So, yeah, Larry's an easy guy to get a hold of.
00:08:38 Kevin
Usually somebody knows where Larry is at all times.
00:08:40 Larry
Yeah, I live at only in-house.
00:08:42 Kevin
Okay, yeah, right uptown, right in the heart of the city.
00:08:44 Kevin
Yeah.
00:08:45 Kevin
The one thing...
00:08:46 Kevin
I was going to say, Larry, you are always just, you're like the neighborhood watch spokesperson, I feel like.
00:08:51 Kevin
Because you're the silent one, though.
00:08:53 Kevin
You're the one that's not rabble-rousing.
00:08:55 Kevin
You're not arranging people to get together to do the neighborhood watches, but you're just like the silent partner.
00:09:01 Kevin
You walk around and, man, I've had people break into buildings of mine or, hey, Kevin, do you know who this person is?
00:09:07 Kevin
I just saw them over here.
00:09:09 Kevin
There was a lady coming out of the church I owned by the police station.
00:09:14 Kevin
She's wearing a fur coat.
00:09:16 Larry
I'm like, what?
00:09:19 Larry
I'm like, what the heck?
00:09:21 Larry
Yeah, like, what?
00:09:22 Larry
Why are you coming out of here?
00:09:25 Larry
Then she ran.
00:09:26 Kevin
Then she ran away and we re-secured the building and we're starting to set up cameras everywhere.
00:09:32 Kevin
I know the city's making an initiative to do that too.
00:09:35 Kevin
But it's still people on the streets, man.
00:09:37 Kevin
That's what it takes.
00:09:38 Kevin
It takes people who are walking around, who can quickly use their phone and say, hey, you know, I just saw this.
00:09:43 Kevin
I saw that.
00:09:44 Kevin
A lot of people don't do that.
00:09:45 Kevin
They're afraid.
00:09:47 Kevin
They don't want to call.
00:09:48 Kevin
You know, hey, I slipped and fell on the side.
00:09:50 Kevin
Like if my sidewalk doesn't get done, you usually call me and say, hey, man, it's getting a little slick out there.
00:09:55 Kevin
Thanks to the reminder, Larry.
00:09:56 Larry
Or your sidewalk was cracked one day.
00:09:59 Larry
It was.
00:10:00 Larry
One that lady almost remember I called you.
00:10:03 Kevin
Yeah, we got that.
00:10:04 Kevin
I think that was we got it replaced.
00:10:05 Larry
Yep, you did right away, you.
00:10:07 Larry
They came right down and took it up and put a new one on there.
00:10:13 Kevin
Yeah, but it's just those little things.
00:10:16 Kevin
Yeah, people complain all the time.
00:10:17 Kevin
They go on the internet and they complain, oh, no one shovels their sidewalk.
00:10:21 Kevin
Well, why don't you try to reach out to the owner and say, hey, man, you've got this property here.
00:10:25 Kevin
I'm sure it's the last thing on your mind.
00:10:27 Kevin
It's a vacant property, but it needs a sidewalk shovel.
00:10:33 Kevin
We're doing today's podcast from the John Ashe Cleaners Building.
00:10:37 Kevin
My normal studio is getting some work done to it.
00:10:40 Kevin
So I had Larry meet me here at the new office.
00:10:43 Kevin
And so, but just another building that we just, we kind of picked up and, we're, I got a guy every time it snows and it's.
00:10:51 Larry
I missed the good old days of shoveling, but I can't do it no more.
00:10:56 Larry
I wish I could.
00:10:58 Larry
But because of my toes, yeah, I'm missing toes.
00:11:03 Larry
I don't want no falling.
00:11:05 Larry
Getting re-injured and going back to the hospital.
00:11:09 Kevin
That food is quite a deterrent to you.
00:11:10 Larry
Yeah, that food was nasty.
00:11:13 Larry
I don't know why they feed chicken for lunch and dinner.
00:11:17 Larry
It was a lunch and dinner.
00:11:18 Kevin
The chicken's cheap, man.
00:11:19 Larry
Yeah, why couldn't you get?
00:11:20 Kevin
100 chickens to a box.
00:11:23 Larry
Some of the chicken was so dry, I threw it away.
00:11:26 Larry
I don't care what the nurses said.
00:11:27 Kevin
Did you lose weight at the hospital then?
00:11:29 Kevin
You just...
00:11:30 Larry
I threw it in the garbage.
00:11:33 Larry
So yeah.
00:11:35 Kevin
That's, I was going to say, it's, so.
00:11:40 Larry
And I just saved the Oats bus, what was it, last year or a year before?
00:11:45 Kevin
You saved the Oats bus.
00:11:46 Larry
Yes.
00:11:47 Kevin
Okay.
00:11:47 Larry
I got it, they were going to shut it down, remember?
00:11:50 Kevin
Oh yeah, I remember that.
00:11:52 Larry
I went around collecting signatures.
00:11:56 Kevin
The petition signatures, I remember that, yeah.
00:11:58 Larry
That was, that was.
00:12:00 Larry
that was scary for everybody.
00:12:02 Kevin
Right.
00:12:03 Larry
But I got that going back and that's a good thing.
00:12:06 Kevin
Yeah.
00:12:07 Kevin
It's good to see that they, the community came together and you and your petitions.
00:12:12 Kevin
And I know that the, I think the county got together with the city and a bunch of other people.
00:12:16 Kevin
And it's one of those things that was a, I think it was a, if I remember correctly, that was a state program.
00:12:22 Kevin
And the state had a big issue with
00:12:26 Kevin
they always have a big issue.
00:12:27 Kevin
They have a big issue with paying the bill.
00:12:29 Kevin
So I think the city is like four or five years behind on getting reimbursed from the state.
00:12:34 Kevin
So every year, the bill gets bigger and bigger and then when it gets huge, they pay it.
00:12:40 Kevin
And then so all of a sudden it's like, they're relying on us little taxpayers to, you know, it's, but it came together.
00:12:47 Larry
Yeah.
00:12:48 Kevin
So missing the toes, you can't shovel.
00:12:51 Kevin
Does that affect your bowling game?
00:12:53 Larry
No, I still.
00:12:55 Kevin
You just don't call your twinkle toes anymore, right?
00:12:59 Larry
I won bowling last year.
00:13:01 Larry
I got rewarded and then went to, I was in the hospital.
00:13:07 Larry
The coach came with a trophy.
00:13:11 Larry
where we went and did a ceremony somewhere in Allegheny.
00:13:16 Larry
And the mayor was there and I was in the hospital, but they brought the trophy team.
00:13:21 Kevin
Oh, that's good.
00:13:22 Larry
Yeah.
00:13:23 Kevin
Brighten your spirits up.
00:13:24 Larry
Oh, yeah.
00:13:25 Larry
That was nice.
00:13:26 Kevin
I was going to say, so you, I'm trying to think, what are the other, what are the other, I wouldn't call them Larry-isms, right?
00:13:35 Kevin
So like you got your goofy hat on.
00:13:37 Kevin
I like that.
00:13:38 Kevin
Oh, yeah.
00:13:38 Kevin
It's goofy, but I do like it.
00:13:40 Kevin
Yeah.
00:13:43 Kevin
During the holidays, don't you dress up for something like during Halloween?
00:13:46 Larry
Oh, yeah.
00:13:46 Kevin
You dress like, what was it, a teddy bear last a couple years ago?
00:13:49 Larry
Yep, yep.
00:13:51 Larry
Last year was...
00:13:53 Kevin
You go all out with the Halloween.
00:13:54 Larry
Oh, yes, all holidays, every holiday.
00:13:58 Larry
I would hand Mardi Gras beads out on Mardi Gras all weekend.
00:14:02 Kevin
See, there you go.
00:14:03 Larry
Yeah.
00:14:04 Kevin
I was going to say, every year, even since, you know,
00:14:08 Kevin
Since I was working after I stepped down as alderman, when I started working for the city, I was going to say, that's when I learned that every year the girls get you a present from the DPW office.
00:14:18 Kevin
And then I went from being an alderman getting my Christmas cards from Larry to being a worker getting.
00:14:26 Kevin
Yeah, So, yeah, there's always something Larry's got going on.
00:14:32 Kevin
So, yeah, no, it's
00:14:35 Kevin
I'm glad to have you as a community member here.
00:14:37 Larry
Thank you.
00:14:38 Kevin
Yeah, no problem, Larry.
00:14:39 Kevin
We're, you know, we're just, we're happy you're part of our family.
00:14:44 Kevin
And every holiday too, Thanksgiving, I get my Larry Ordway text message.
00:14:49 Kevin
God bless.
00:14:50 Kevin
Thank you for being part of my family and, you know.
00:14:53 Kevin
Every holiday.
00:14:54 Larry
Everybody I send it to if I can.
00:14:57 Kevin
Yeah, no, I hear you.
00:15:00 Kevin
I get them every year and I appreciate it.
00:15:02 Kevin
I'm always so busy that I don't send out Christmas cards.
00:15:05 Kevin
I don't send out the text messages like I should.
00:15:08 Kevin
If I get one, I reply to it.
00:15:10 Kevin
I'm kind of a response based when it comes to stuff like that.
00:15:14 Kevin
This year we're taking, like I said, we're taking that initiative to start decorating the Bebco house, not just for the Christmas party, but like
00:15:23 Kevin
We've got a rental that we usually get long-term tenants in.
00:15:27 Kevin
Not long-term per se, but months at a time for different businesses in the area.
00:15:31 Kevin
And we furnish them right down to the, kind of like an Airbnb, but we're not like short-term.
00:15:36 Kevin
And this year we've got somebody spending the time during the holidays.
00:15:39 Kevin
So it's like, I'm going over there this afternoon and I am getting a Christmas tree put up for them and starting to decorate that house.
00:15:46 Kevin
And just because it's,
00:15:48 Kevin
It's one of those things.
00:15:49 Kevin
So I'm starting to embrace that a little bit more.
00:15:51 Larry
Oh yeah.
00:15:51 Kevin
I was telling my wife, she was like, you always wait till the last minute, Kevin.
00:15:54 Kevin
I'm like, oh, sorry.
00:15:56 Kevin
But like next year it's going to be, I told her, I said, next year I said, I'm going to pick all the vacant rentals.
00:16:01 Kevin
Anything that's vacant, any building, like we've got, or any of our larger buildings that are more noticeable.
00:16:06 Kevin
Like we have the old coffee shop building.
00:16:08 Larry
Oh yeah.
00:16:09 Kevin
And there's nobody in the commercial section after we moved our office over here.
00:16:14 Kevin
But it's like, it'd be nice to see a Christmas tree in the window if it's still vacant next year.
00:16:18 Kevin
It'd be nice to see some lights on the outside.
00:16:21 Kevin
And same with this building.
00:16:23 Kevin
Hopefully we'll be more vibrant here once we get kind of settled in a little bit more.
00:16:27 Kevin
We'll get a Christmas tree in the front window and get some lights across the front and a lot of changes happening, you know.
00:16:32 Kevin
But as I get older, I keep, I'm starting to embrace more holidays like my buddy Larry.
00:16:37 Kevin
So
00:16:38 Kevin
In the church uptown, I was telling my wife, that one's going to be a pain in the ****.
00:16:41 Kevin
When I tack up Christmas lights, I might want to get some like heavy duty, high quality ones.
00:16:45 Kevin
Right, So they hide into the trim, but then I can have them on a timer that I can turn them on every Christmas.
00:16:51 Kevin
So this way we don't, you know, and just make that building look vibrant again, you know.
00:16:56 Kevin
But yeah, if you know anybody,
00:16:58 Kevin
looking to buy or rent a church, let me know, because I'd love to.
00:17:03 Kevin
I've been putting money into it year after year, what money I have, and excess money, and it's like, I'd love to see somebody, like, we were going to have Della a few years ago, she was going to take it over, and then she got her own building, which is more suited for her needs.
00:17:20 Kevin
And it'd be nice to see somebody in that church actually using it.
00:17:24 Kevin
So if you know any pastors, don't get in touch with me.
00:17:26 Kevin
You got my number, Larry.
00:17:27 Larry
Yes, I do.
00:17:29 Kevin
So anything you want to talk about, Larry?
00:17:34 Larry
Just Merry Christmas, Happy New Year's.
00:17:36 Kevin
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's.
00:17:38 Kevin
Take that to heart.
00:17:39 Larry
Yep, be safe and God bless you all.
00:17:42 Larry
God.
00:17:43 Kevin
Bless.
00:17:43 Kevin
And we'll get you on the show again, Larry.
00:17:45 Kevin
If you think of something when you go home and you're like, you know what, next time I'm on Kevin's show,
00:17:49 Kevin
I'm going to meet up with them and we're going to talk about, maybe you like playing euchre or something.
00:17:55 Kevin
You're an avid euchre player in addition to bowling.
00:17:58 Kevin
You want to say, hey, you know what, I have this cool trick I know during bowling season that I really like to use.
00:18:03 Kevin
And I think that, you know, or if you find out more information about this parenting program, I would love to know more about it and who we could try to find to help take over the reins of it so that we can get more people out there, you know?
00:18:15 Larry
It helped a lot of people, but now since
00:18:19 Larry
The guy been sick.
00:18:23 Larry
I wish they would bring, there was a couple guys, but they moved away who was doing it with him.
00:18:30 Kevin
Right.
00:18:30 Larry
It's like, it was a big, it's a big thing.
00:18:34 Kevin
Yeah.
00:18:35 Kevin
To me, that's, you know, that's more long-term important than, you know what I mean?
00:18:38 Kevin
The bus situation is like short-term important to me.
00:18:42 Kevin
Right.
00:18:42 Kevin
Like it gets you to the store today.
00:18:43 Larry
Right.
00:18:44 Kevin
Teaching people how to be good mothers and fathers is like a long-term thing.
00:18:48 Larry
Oh, yeah.
00:18:49 Larry
And so, it was a good run for the last couple of years when I did it.
00:18:55 Kevin
Maybe afterwards I'll have you get me in touch with some of the people that may be in charge of it, or we used to be, and then maybe.
00:19:00 Larry
We can try to figure out somebody who can, right, run it again.
00:19:04 Kevin
Yeah, take over, and it's not like we don't have places for stuff like this, right, but...
00:19:09 Kevin
All right, Larry.
00:19:09 Kevin
Well, hey, I appreciate you being on the show.
00:19:11 Kevin
Everybody, don't forget to wish Larry a merry Christmas and a happy holidays.
00:19:15 Kevin
And you can find him at your local senior center.
00:19:21 Kevin
Usually you can find him Monday through Friday down there, hanging out.
00:19:23 Kevin
You'll see him uptown during the summer.
00:19:25 Larry
Or over here at Harvest Fields.
00:19:27 Kevin
Over here at Harvest Fields, yeah.
00:19:29 Larry
Monday, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
00:19:32 Kevin
Okay.
00:19:34 Kevin
Monday, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
00:19:35 Kevin
You can find your buddy Larry, our buddy Larry, and don't forget to follow him on Facebook for all of the Larry adventures.
00:19:42 Kevin
We'll have to get you like a GoPro you can carry around with you.
00:19:44 Kevin
We can see all the, you know, all the fun, the good, the bad, the ugly, the indifferent, you know, like Larry TV.
00:19:55 Kevin
So I got to give you that though, Larry, for the holidays.
00:19:57 Kevin
You are more handsome than Matthew McConaughey.
00:19:59 Kevin
I don't care what anybody else says.
00:20:02 Kevin
Larry TV.
00:20:03 Kevin
I think it'll kick **** and take names.
00:20:05 Kevin
All right, buddy.
00:20:06 Kevin
Well, it was good having you.
00:20:08 Kevin
Thanks, guys.
00:20:08 Kevin
Don't forget to like, subscribe, and wish Larry a Merry Christmas, and we'll see you guys.
