A seventeen-year-old is charged with murder for something she typed.

Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O'Neill announced Monday that a North Carolina teenager, identified in court records as Sarah L. Santiago, has been indicted on three counts of murder by aiding and abetting, plus one conspiracy count.

Here's what makes this case unusual. She was in North Carolina on May eighteenth. The attack was in San Diego. But prosecutors say she recorded the livestream of the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, published the attackers' manifesto, and bought a patch bearing a white-supremacist symbol for one of the gunmen to wear.

Three men were killed confronting the attackers — Amin Abdullah, Nadir Awad, and Mansour Kaziha. They died stopping a plan that authorities say also targeted a Jewish temple and a predominantly African-American high school.

The two gunmen — eighteen-year-old Caleb Vazquez and seventeen-year-old Cain Clark — died by suicide. Investigators have conducted more than one hundred interviews and reviewed more than four million messages.

She was two thousand miles away. Prosecutors say that does not matter.

Second story. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has submitted his resignation.

Two sources familiar with internal deliberations tell reporters he is departing in the coming days after a months-long turf war with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Driscoll spoke with President Trump about the current state of the Army before stepping away.

Turf wars at the top of the Pentagon are not gossip. They shape who gets promoted, what gets funded, and how quickly America responds to a crisis.

Third story. On Capitol Hill, the House Rules Committee advanced a Republican resolution condemning socialism. No Democrats voted to move it forward.

A rule vote is expected Tuesday afternoon, with the full vote Tuesday evening. Wednesday brings a separate constitutional amendment to cap the Supreme Court at nine justices. Representative Jim McGovern called the socialism resolution nonsense. Chairman Bryan Steil called the debate silly season.
