That's right. This is the year that everything changes for you. This is the year you target high net worth clients.
My name is Dave Lorenzo. And if you're new here, you've missed about 940 something shows, but this is the perfect time for you to join us. This is a rebirth, if you will.
I've done this show for the better part of a decade. There's been a number of different, the show's gone under a number of different names. This is the inside BS show.
We take you inside business strategy. We give you the insider business secrets. And 2026 is a year where this platform is my main way of communicating with you, people who are professional service providers who want to target high net worth clients, people who are business owners who want to grow and scale to 20 million or more in annual revenue.
And we only take serious people here. We don't take clowns. We don't want jokers.
If you are struggling to commit to your business, this is not the place for you. If you are serious about working with people who do 5 million or more in, who have 5 million or more in investable assets, or who do 20 million or more in annual revenue, this is the place for you. We're going to help you get to where you need to be so that all of your clients fall into this category.
Okay. So why am I restarting this show in 2026 on January 1st? Where have I been for the last three months? You probably don't care about this, but in 2025, I committed to doing a show every day, and I did that up until the end of September. And then I decided I was going to take, I thought I was going to take a month off and that month ended up becoming three months, the reasons for that.
I'm not going to get into here, but suffice it to say that I went through some changes in the way my business is structured, had a partner. I don't have a partner now. So this is better for you.
And it's better for me because you and I both are not encumbered by the will or desire of anyone else. We, you and me, we control our own fate. No matter what happens, it happens as a result of actions we take or actions we do not take.
And this is the key for you as we move into 2026. If you want to connect with high net worth clients, step number one for you is to realize that you control your future. I spend a decent amount of time on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is one of the places where I go to connect with people and where I exchange information with people who are my target audience. In other words, they're professionals who I want to connect with or they're people who fit the role of my ideal client. Oftentimes I see professionals like you talking about themselves and talking about the things that they're doing.
Nobody gives a shit about you. This is rule number one in business strategy and in business development, in sales, in marketing. Nobody cares about you.
They care about what you can do for them. So if you're on LinkedIn talking about your goals or you're using LinkedIn as a therapy session to talk about how this is a year of change for you, or if you're on LinkedIn today, I'm recording this on New Year's Eve, you're listening to this on New Year's Day, if you're on LinkedIn giving a recap of what a great year you had or how it was a year of turmoil for you, you're forcing people to tune you out because nobody cares. They don't give a shit about your year.
Nobody cares how much your personal business grew. Nobody cares about the baggage you're dragging around. Nobody gives a shit about that.
They do not care what you've gone through this year. What they care about is the value you can provide to them. And this is rule number one in connecting with high net worth clients.
What can you do for me? Tell me what you can do for me. I don't care about your life. If you drive a Maserati and that's part of your brand, okay, sit in the Maserati and tell me about the value you can provide while you're sitting in the Maserati.
But do not think for one minute that you struggling to break through getting 15 more subscriptions to your weekly newsletter is going to impress me in some way that's going to make me want to invest in my, to give you my assets to invest. Okay. It doesn't work like that.
What works is you telling me the story of your client who you helped go from point A to point B, you help them make 20% return on their investment and then having the client next to you saying, yes, this person did help me make 20% return on my investment. That's great. Or you doing the case study of the client and me seeing myself in the case study, that works, that resonates, but you looking absolutely beautiful in your designer clothes with your perfectly quaffed hair and your glamorous photo.
That doesn't do it. That's going to get you likes. That's going to get you comments.
It's going to get you a lot of creepy comments, but it's going to get you a lot of comments and likes, but it's not going to get you the connections with the high net worth client. They're not going to give you their money to invest just because you're beautiful and your picture is perfect. And you've talked to us about how this was a year of change and turmoil for you and how you've come out the other side as a better person.
You've got to provide some value. You've really got to provide some value. If you're not doing that, you're not serious.
The value that I'm providing to you today is your wake up call. Okay. Happy new year.
Wake the hell up. You need to start demonstrating the value that you have by sharing it with people. So here's your formula for success from a content perspective.
Your formula goes like this. Share a case study. You don't have to give the full name of the person, but share a case study.
Draw a connection to the reader from the person in the case study. Clearly articulate, clearly enumerate. Use a list, but articulate and make a list of the value of you providing a service to the person in the case study.
So how did you help that person get there? I did this number one. I did this number two. I did this number three.
That's what helped Jennifer or Abe. Those are two of the case studies I recently posted on LinkedIn. That's what helped Jennifer get from point A to point B. She was working with shitty clients.
Now she's working with better clients and she got the better clients because she did number one. She did number two. She did number three.
That's how you give a list of things and you use a forum like LinkedIn, a forum like a newsletter, a forum like a podcast like this. That's how you do this. Okay.
So if you're out there right now and you're thinking, I have to command some type of thought leadership, and this is a big thing, by the way, on LinkedIn. Oh, you got to become a thought leader. Who's a thought leader? Oh, if you do a podcast, you're a thought leader.
If you write a newsletter, you're a thought leader. Well, candidly, no. If you do a podcast, you're a podcaster.
If you do a newsletter, you're a newsletter writer. You could be a goofball and write a newsletter. You could be a goofball and do a podcast.
Thought leadership is about you sharing ideas and value that are unique. If you're not sharing ideas and value that are unique, you're not a thought leader. You're just another knucklehead filling the air with noise pollution.
Okay. So if you want to become a thought leader, you've got to share unique value and you've got to do it in a way that people can take action on it. You got to do it in a way people can use it.
My hope in sharing this information with you, and this is not a Dave Lorenzo bashing somebody podcast. I'm not here to throw stones at people. So if you're posting beautiful pictures of yourself and it makes you feel good, God bless, keep doing it.
I'm not throwing stones at you. This is for the serious people who want to uplevel their clients, who want to attract high net worth clients or real business owners. If you're looking to do that, you need to share valuable content in a way that people can consume it, people can use it immediately.
That's what you need to do. That's today's takeaway. That's the big nut graph, the big skinny from today.
Share usable content people can implement immediately. That's real thought leadership. That's what you should be doing if you want to grow your business.
