Build Your SaaS

A quick update from Justin

Show Notes

πŸ‘‹ Justin here. This episode is to let you know why there's no episode today. (I've had a few DMs from folks that were worried!)

We're good; we had some server trouble this morning that took all our time and attention today. We're hoping to be back next Tuesday with a full episode.

Thanks everyone; we appreciate your support! ✌️

Special thanks to Dean Layton James, from CloudPeriscope and Benedikt Evans from UserList for giving us ideas on how to fix our issues today! ❀️

Justin:

Before I jump into my update, here is the bootstrapper shout out of the week. It is Seekwell. Seekwell. Io. This allows you to send SQL, it could be MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift, and SQL Server to Google sheets, Excel, Slack, or email.

Justin:

Check them out. Seekwell. Io. Hey everybody. Welcome to build your SaaS.

Justin:

And it's Justin Jackson here. Just wanted to record a quick something to let you know why there's no episode today. We had some downtime this morning on transistor. We're still figuring it out, but a bunch of external requests basically brought down the web app. We got it back up and running, within the hour.

Justin:

It wasn't like an extended amount of downtime, but it was enough that it, you know, stressed out myself and John and resulted in tons and tons of customer support. So, yeah, we're still kind of just, basically dealing with that. We really want to make sure that it doesn't happen again. And so we're putting in some logging and some, you know, additional things that we're hoping are going to fix the issue. But that meant we didn't have time to record today.

Justin:

So, yeah, that's the update. I guess in the grand scheme of things, I mean, it stresses me out because I never want customers to have any sort of downtime. But I also try to remind myself that it doesn't do any good to get just really stressed out about something. You know, we were down. We're gonna try to fix it.

Justin:

And, that's what we're doing now. We did get some help from some folks, some transistor customers and transistor friends. So I really appreciate, especially Dean who, had a bunch of ideas for us. Dean's at cloudperiscope.com. That was, yeah, just nice and helpful for him to have some ideas.

Justin:

And then Benedick from userlist.com also had some things that we decided to try. And maybe what I'll do is I'll just thank our Patreons now. Colt Borg, brand new. Mark Binder? Binder?

Justin:

Have to let me know if that's right.
