Full show transcript:

Out of the two of us. Between you and I. Yep. Who do you think would survive in a horror movie?

What kind of horror movie? Because there are several. There's psychological. Here we go. Well, listen, I just I need to know more details. I know you do. Like, is this like you like a just a standard horror movie, like a slasher film where you have to just outrun the thing? Because I feel like I could probably outrun the thing. We talked about this last year, and we still haven't done it. The uh Mike Myers.

Yeah, I know. I want to do that. So bad. Where you have to You're the You're the Mike Myers person, not Mike Myers, like Austin Powers.

No, not Michael My Yeah, Michael Myers, not Mike. Hey, Mike Myers, Scottish voice of Shrek over here. Yeah. Not that guy.

Okay, no, you're the you're you're the killer. You're the ghost base killer. Okay.

Ghostface runs. That's why they use Michael Myers. Because he doesn't run, he just walks. Okay. And then catches people.

So I pull up in my car. You have to try and attack me before I can get inside the house.

Was it that, or was it you have to get in the car? It's probably either or. I can't remember the exact.

At least you have to get in the house. Anyway, the challenge is you've got to evade the slasher. Yeah.

Uh before they catch you. I I don't know. I mean, we'll just figure out the rules here. Yeah, yeah. But if it's a slasher film, I think I got you beat. Between you and me, I think I got you beat in the floor. Because you and outrun the slasher. Yeah, because I can run faster.

Yeah, and I would just trip and follow. I'd be like, no. Every time. Every time.

I get turtle on my back. Yeah. I can't give up.

My legs are my strength. I can kick real hard. I can, Josh. Well, it's not gonna work. It's never worked in a horror movie.

Okay, but it will in mine. Okay, but if it's not a slasher movie.

That's what I'm saying. If it's like somebody who's actually plotted something and is like a spooky guy who's calling your house from inside the house. That stuff. Uh I'm gonna hate that. Because I'm gonna try to solve a puzzle.

Yeah, you are. Like it like any of those, like those uh what are those Saw movies where you want to play a game like all that, and he tries to like make you solve a puzzle to escape. I don't I'm it's gonna be bad. And then I'm gonna be like, ah, I was one clue away. Dang it. Time ran out.

So who do you think would survive in a horror movie? You're saying you would in the movie.

Are you gonna survive the the thriller, the mind one? Yes. You said that not so confidently. Yes. I can outlast psychological. You think? Oh yeah. No, I don't think so. I think uh anybody who wanted to get to you could probably like say three sentences and you'd be like, that's fine, I'm done anyway.

Yeah, just give me a math equation and I'll be like, just no, not even a puzzle. Just a just they just have to say bad things about you, like two or three bad things about you, and you're like, I just I'm done. Oh I know, that's what I'm saying.

Who's gonna what bad things are they gonna say about me? They're creeps, who knows?

But see, just the thought of somebody saying bad things about you broke your hand.

Yeah, I don't like when people say bad things about me. Right, see?

And then you're gonna be like, it's fine. Just I don't need to be here anyway. And then you'll be all sad. Like, well, this was no longer fun. I don't know. That's an interesting question. I don't know what to say about it. But I do know that it's time to start today's show. Enjoy. Buenos dias.

Good morning. Guten Morgan. Uh-oh. There we go.

We well traveled. No. I mean, only slightly. Uh, good morning. Hi. Good morning, Josh. How was your drive? Cold. It was a little chilly. Did you have your uh seat heaters going? Oh, yeah. Nice. How was that? Great. How long did that take? Like, are you pretty much here and it's warm or is it?

No, it eats up pretty quickly. Yeah. Yeah. Just don't know what that's like. Sorry. I don't have that. No. You should.

I would like to. I was looking at uh nice feature. Some some of those um like ones that you can plug in that just go over your seat. Some of them have like built-in massage, and I was kind of like, man, that sounds nice. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I put that on my Christmas wish list.

How much are those? I don't even know. I gotta look a little closer. I was just I I saw them. Uh I wish they sold them in a pair, so the the passenger could have one as well.

Yeah. They don't sell them in a pair.

Most of them you're just you buy it. You buy one of them. That seems silly. Yeah.

You should buy, you should be able to buy two. I'd like to.

But for now, I'll just get it. Well, you can buy two. Sure. You just buy two. Just put two in your car. Yeah. Easy peasy. Right. But I want to look at reviews and see which ones people recommend, you know. And who do you trust for something like that? Uber drivers. I feel like they spend a lot of time in that office. They probably know a little bit. They might. I didn't know you wanted that. Well, I just I I feel kind of left out.

I think that's I feel left out of the backward camera club.

Oh, yeah. You don't have the backup cam.

No, I did drive your truck over the weekend, and I was like, oh, this backup camera is nice.

Oh, yeah, because you would have had to have backed out of the driveway. So immediately you would have I had to move my seat back after you drove by. Sorry. It wasn't that big of a deal. I just moved it and then got in the truck.

What I hate is when I don't know that it's happened, and then I go to get in, and I'm like, everything's so tight. But no, I knew. So I think that worked out for me. We're here on a Monday. Yeah. Weekend is over.

True. Went by too fast. Yeah.

It tends to do that. But anyway, good morning. We'll do some good news here in a minute.

And then kind of maybe we'll do a morning stretch. Yeah. Okay. That sounds nice.

I like morning stretches. Okay. Cool. Hi.

Let's get you some good news. There's a five-month-old kitten named Gelato who arrived at an animal shelter in Cincinnati. Uh, and the shelter staff realized that he was gonna need some extra care. He had a lower back injury and left his hind legs paralyzed. And so the staff built him this little mini wheelchair out of Hot Wheels cars and wooden rulers. Now remember, this is a five-month-old kitten. So he's very, very small. Oh.

Uh, this little uh homemade contraption worked. Gelato's able to get around, which is great. Uh and gelato was given a more stable and traditional wheelchair since then. And now uh everyone involved with gelato uh to help him regain his strength with regular therapy, is just so excited for him. As of uh last Monday, Gelato's life got a little bit better.

He found his forever home, which is amazing. Hope Hollinsworth, who already owns two other special needs cats, officially adopted gelato. Uh said she wanted to give her two cats, uh, which by their by the way, their names are bread crumb and sprinkles.

So breadcrumb, sprinkles, and gelato. Uh all have uh like a gang, uh, which is pretty fun. Uh they have use of only their front legs due to injuries. They all have now an additional cuddle cuddle buddy. Gelato will continue some physical therapy. Uh, and the hope is that he will eventually regain use of his back legs, but regardless of his success with therapy, Gelato will have all the help and support that he needs in his new home. Um, hope said, either way, he's perfect to me. Isn't that fun? Yes.

I like nice animal stories.

Yeah, you gotta look up Gelato, the cat. His Hot Wheels contraption is very cool. It's basically, I mean, you've got a little cat here that can't stand on the back. So they built kind of uh two rulers down the side of the cat and then two vertical on uh mounted on Hot Wheels, and so uh he could drag that around and it genius. Yeah, I mean very smart.

Yeah. He's a little upgraded now to more of a 3D printed, very similar design, by the way. Looks like bike training wheels with the sides for the side of the cat. So it looks very handsome in his little harness. ready to roll. Get to it, buddy. Yeah. Way to go. It's good news.

We were getting ready to leave town on Friday, and both of our kids were like, Wait, I'm hungry. Wait, what do we have to eat? What kind of snacks do we have?

Are we gonna stop at a gas station?

Yeah, we're gonna stop at a gas station. I'm hungry. We could just stop to eat.

No, no, we're gonna eat when we get there.

You and I load it up in the car. We're waiting for the kids, waiting for the kids, waiting for the kids. I go inside, I go, what are you guys doing? Emery had heated up some leftovers, she was eating back and poured himself poured himself a ball of cereal. Yeah.

He said, I'm gonna just power through a bowl of cereal real quick. That is not a real quick thing.

But also, you guys had hours and hours and hours to do this. Yeah. Before we left. That is true. What's the matter with our kids? Oh, I don't know.

If they were hungry, I guess. And that's more important. So they stopped to eat. So they wouldn't be hungry on the drive. Annoying. Yeah. I couldn't believe it.

See, Beck corner is. of cereal. Well, believe it, because it happened. And then he had bought, he had bought some chocolate milk, a couple of half gallons of chocolate milk, like weeks and weeks before. And he was like, hold on, I'm gonna get a I'm gonna get a glass of chocolate milk. And Emory, our daughter, says, No, you're not. And he goes, why? And she goes, bro, look at that. Thick. Chunky. He was like, no, it's fine. This, our kid who constantly monitors expiration dates.

Yeah.

Was like, no, it's fine. And I went, don't drink that dude.

I walked into the kitchen as he was dumping it down the sink, and I went, that is not healthy. I don't know what you've created in that jug, but it's not edible.

He was real close to drinking it. Was he? Yeah. No way. A dude, well, once he poured it into a cup, I think he would have realized that it was not so good. It lumped out of the gallon. That's what I mean. But you could tell it was pretty lumpy in the in the gallon. Yeah. But he didn't notice it until Emery was like, dude, you're not drinking that. Yes, I am. Think again, buddy.

Interesting that he would choose that moment to be reminded that he had that milk in the in the garage for it.

Dude, they choose the worst moments to be reminded of anything.

Oh, I'm hungry. Bowl of cereal. And I just remembered I have chocolate milk.

Oh, and are we supposed to be going somewhere? Is everybody waiting for me? Okay. Let me go get my shoes on.

Yeah, I'm gonna go eat this cereal real quick. And then I'm gonna put on shoes.

I forgot to pack, so let me go do that really fast.

Throw some stuff in a backpack. I know. I don't know what happened. I don't know. It's a wild ride out there. Kids. I'll tell you. You know?

If I didn't have a husband and kids, I'd get everywhere precisely.

three hours early. Yeah, three hours early. Precisely when you intended to do it.

If I didn't have to wait for everyone, I'd be the happiest person alive. If I didn't have to remind everyone, did you remind? Did you remember to get your toothbrush? Did you get your toothbrush? Did you get you?

Are you still reminding people to get toothbrushes?

Sometimes I do have to remind people. Yeah. And they're old. We got we got oldies. I know in our house. Yeah.

They should know to grab it. But every now and then I go, did everybody remember their toothbrush?

I did. Maybe you should use it. Yeah.

That's different than remembering it. Wait a minute. I have a toothbrush. I should use that real quick. Uh, but do that after I eat cereal or before? Let me think about that. Let me grab a bowl of cereal while I think about it. I had to drive your truck yesterday around. Got to.

The town of Burley. Yeah. Idaho. And I parked in kind of a squeezy little spot. Well, first of all, I feel in your old neighborhood? No. At a store. Oh, okay. First of all, I feel like I drive a golf.

Yeah, tiny car. You have a little hatchback. Yeah, I can squeeze in anywhere. So when I drive your truck, I feel like I'm like King Kong of the road. It just feels massive. And you don't have a lifted truck.

You have just a regular stock.

Basic model Toyota Chandra. Yeah. It's but it feels massive. And so when I'm passing people on the road, I'm like, don't bump me ears. I did fine. And then get this. I went to the store and I parked in a squeezy little spot. And Emory said, You parked that better than dad does. Like she said it. Did you back it in? No, I didn't back it in.

No, you didn't.

No, you didn't. I parked it better than you did. What does that mean? I don't know. She said I did a better job.

Were the parking spots angled or straight? Straight.

I'm going to have her replay it. She recorded it. No, but I was inside the lines.

Well, I need to see pictures. And why does she think you parked it better than I can?

I'll tell you why. Because she was like, you got in between the lines, so that's good. Now, there wasn't cars on either side of me, so I purposely did that because I was like, I'm not squeezing into a spot where there's cars parked. So I parked in a spot that was there was nobody around. But I got in there. I was straight. My wheels were straight. Yeah. I was in between the lines.

And you were far enough in forward. Yeah. That you weren't sticking out too far. Correct. Well, I'm happy for you. But also, who was the one telling you that you parked real well? Our daughter. Right. And have you seen her parking?

But I also know that she has driven enough with you that she knows that your part, you're your driving's not always the best. I feel pretty good about it. About your parking? Yeah. It's because you're back in all the time. Yeah. Go forward in. And then we'll see who's the better parking.

When I can back into a spot and then just drive away forward. It's so much easier.

Doesn't matter. I parked better than you.

So according to our daughter who is a little bit there's a little bit desired there when that with her parking. It doesn't matter.

She knows what good parking is when she sees it. It doesn't matter if she herself. Parallel park it. I don't want to.

Big man on campus over here. Parallel parking.

No, never. Why? I'll park. I've already told you. I'll park three miles away before a parallel park somewhere that's right up front. I gotta teach you. It's not hard. I you you tried to teach me the other day. Yeah. It wasn't like a lot of things. What did we learn? I don't know.

What are the different pillars? And which one do you line up? I don't remember. Yeah.

It's like your back, your back mirror. No. Not your back mirror, but your back window has to be flush, but like their back window. No. Okay.

You weren't paying attention in class.

I was too. I just forget. Okay. Okay.

Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey. Settle down.

You're just mad because I parked better than that. I don't think you did. I think you're just mad about it.

I'm certainly not mad about it. I think you are. I'm I'm proud of you for parking. That's a big deal. You don't have to do that. In a truck that you're not comfortable in. I mean, you made it a competition when you were like, I did it better than you.

Your daughter said that, not me.

I know. I'm gonna have to have words with her. I can't wait for her to tell you.

She will. She'll lay it out. She'll say, Dad, you got big truck energy. And mom parked better than you. Mm-hmm. Sure thing.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on out there, but uh I-15 is having some troubles this morning. So I just want everybody to be careful. Uh there are currently, as of this morning, three different accidents between Idaho Falls and Pocatello. There's a couple uh real close to Blackfoot. Um, so if you are hitting the freeway to get somewhere today, just understand there are some uh accidents this morning that are still in the process of being cleaned up and investigating stuff, and there are already several of them. So allow some time, maybe bypass, take the old highway, take 91.

Uh, if you are going to be traveling between Idaho Falls and Blackfoot, uh, probably a good idea to at least help you kind of avoid uh some of those delays anyway. Uh one of them pretty early this morning, about 4 30 this morning, uh, which uh was on I-15 southbound near mile marker 95, blocking all lanes 516 this morning. Uh I-15, uh Blackfoot and the I-15 northbound lane block there, and then again, another one at 524 this morning. Oh man. Uh I-15 northbound near mile marker 108 and all lanes block there as well.

So uh again, just trying to keep the status. It looks like the ones closer to Blackfoot have uh been cleared, those earlier morning ones, um, and things are probably getting a little bit better. But that's uh that's kind of a busy morning um along I-15. So definitely, you know, these have been out there for a couple of hours, so things are probably kind of getting going. Um, but be careful and uh and just be alert and know that there's uh there's some stuff going on on I-15, and things could be cleared up. I don't have like a up to the second traffic report. Um, things could be moving. It has been a couple of hours. Uh so there's a good chance things are cleaned up and and moving.

But you know, there's always another route if you need you know, a different, a different option. And you can always check the road report at 511.gov. It's exactly where I was getting all those details. Uh, so you can see those uh accidents look like I've refreshed and it looks like things are cleared up. So that would be good news if everything was, you know, running smoothly. But do check that road report any time you need it. 511.idehood.gov, especially as we're getting into holiday travel and uh, you know, inclement weather and winter driving and all that stuff.

It's a great resource. It's got traffic cameras. It'll show you the road conditions. It'll show you where construction is at.

It'll show you where uh you know accidents happen and where you can expect delays and stuff like that. So 511.gov. And be safe. Yeah, please be safe out on the roads. Pay attention. Stay alert. Be safe. All of those things. Somebody wants you home safe. Yeah. Get there.

Do you want to tell this story or do you want me to?

Uh let me see where we're at here, and then I'll let you know. Um I mean, look, we're at a party, and uh there's some mixed family there. There's your family, there's um your nephews, like in-laws. Uh-huh. Right.

Yeah. And then there's a bunch of people that we don't know. And so, as tends to happen, you kind of just stay with your tribe, I think. Yeah.

So it's kind of just minding my own business. And then uh my brother-in-law goes, hey, I you gotta meet this guy, Zach. And so I said, Oh, hey, what's up, Zach? And Zach is uh fly fishing guide. And so uh he and I got talking fishing, and then that was pretty much the rest of the party. I think that's about how it went.

I wish I had taken a video of you. I did take a little video, but you went from being kind of like bored, kind of snacking on your chakruterie snacks. Right, and then just kind of wafting in and out of conversations that we were having as a family, and then all of a sudden you were like, fly fishing? Let's talk about fly fishing. And then you were done. And then you told him that you just bought a new rod.

I wasn't even talking to him at the time. I was I was just I was just having a conversation about it, and he he had overheard, and he was like, Wait, what did you order?

What did you get? And I so I said, you know, I got this rod, and he was like, Do you want to cast it? He has the same one that I was like, uh I'm just waiting to get in the mail, and he's like, Oh, I've got it, I'll go get it right now.

So he comes out, he's rigged it up, and he's like, give it a go. And so uh I got to cast in in this big beautiful backyard, all grass, no water. I'm casting uh the the fly rod I'm waiting to arrive. I love it. I can't wait to get my my hands on my own. I'm so excited. It's an awesome rod reel combo.

What I thought was funny is it was just the two of you. He was like, I'll go get that rod. We can practice casting. Yeah. And then the two of you were kind of talking in the corner about it. And then as soon as he got his fly rod out and he hooked it all up, yeah. Here comes like three other dudes that were like, hey, what's going on here?

Yeah, oh, we're doing a fly fishing demo.

What's happening? Let's do this. What? Who's kids?

Well, then he ended up starting uh starting a class uh on on casting because a lot of the you know the other guys were fishermen, but they don't fly fish, and so they were like, You gotta explain this. Like, how's this even work? Because it looks silly.

You got this long pole, you got this crazy line, you're out here doing two hands, you're like, how are you even doing this? And so he started kind of teaching, which I think he was good with. It was kind of in his element. Uh, and he was having a good time.

Yeah, but that's what he gets paid to do.

That is correct.

Can't give casting lessons for free.

Well, uh he doesn't get paid to do casting lessons, he gets paid to drive a boat down the river and catch fish. And say go fish and safe put it right there, put it right there, put it right there.

Yeah, I should have joined the that party and taken some casting lessons because I could have used some if I'm gonna go with you again.

When you're gonna go with me again.

I am gonna go with you again. Just don't know when. I you just gotta be a good enough spot.

Just go out on a boat. You're gonna have a great time on a boat.

You're gonna love it. You just are trying to convince me that we need a boat. Yep. Yes, I am.

I want a drift boat real bad.

That's not the kind of boat I want.

I know you want some crazy boat that's gonna pull you in a tube. I don't want that.

I it's less about like I want to maybe lay a little tube boat, but I mostly just want like somebody to drive me around in a boat while I kinda sunbathe on the deck of the boat. Oh, you're gonna love a drift boat while reading a book.

You are gonna love a drift boat.

I don't think that I am. You don't think so.

You don't think you're gonna love floating down the river. No, and I'll tell you what sunbathing reading a book, having a little sandwich.

I've seen those bring a little cucumber sandwich. Cushy. There's not padded. You haven't. Yes, they are.

It's like a wooden book. No, it is not.

What do you think you've got to look at a drift boat? You have no idea what you're talking about. There's comfort. There's a cooler, even.

I know. You're gonna love it.

The cooler doubles as a seat.

Exactly. That's the kind of thing. No, the seats attached to the thing.

It's padded.

I'm telling you. No, Josh. It's I just don't think we're talking about the same thing.

I think you have like this old-fashioned wooden boat in your mind, not a modern day drift boat.

A drift boat. I've seen these. Modern day. Padded seats.

They're very luxurious.

Any padded seats on any of these.

I don't know what you're looking at. I'll have to show you the real way.

Plus, also, you just want me to go on your boat so that I can paddle.

I am not expecting you to drive the boat because of what you just did with your arms. I am absolutely not expecting you to drive the boat. I'll drive you around in the boat. Around and around and around. Exactly.

No. You'll be like, hey, row it's over there. I'll say, okay. No. No. What are you doing?

I am not saying that you're incapable. You can be taught, but whatever that is is not it. You think you're pushing around an old wooden boat. What are you doing?

I'm paddling. This is how I paddle.

You're not going in the boat. I changed my mind. Never mind. The boat's for me. I'm nervous about you being in the boat now. Oh, why? That was that was crazy. What were you? I was paddling. I don't know about that. That scares me. If I go on a boat with you, what am I supposed to do?

Where do I go? Just hang out in the back.

You can hang out in the front. You can hang out in the back. There's two sections.

You can switch between the two if you want. Drift boats only have room for three people, right?

No, you can have more than that. You can fit four people, a dog.

You can fit all kinds of stuff in there.

I'm not. If we go on a boat, I'm not taking the dog. No? No. In her little life jacket. No, dude. I can't. I can't with the dog. I need a break.

So the boat's a break. I like it. See? Start visualizing. Just really think about it over the next one. You said I couldn't go. A few months. And then in the spring, we'll be like.

No, you just said I couldn't go.

You said I wasn't allowed. You're not allowed to drive. That's for sure. Fine.

I'm I am not, man.

Bring your cucumber sandwiches and your little basket of goodies in your book, and you'll be fine. Get a big sun hat. Or am I gonna sit? Down. Sit down. But where? In the chair. A chair. It has a chair.

It could be a nice padded bench that I could lay down and take a nap.

nice padded chair. Don't lay down and take a nap.

I could if I had a pontoon boat.

You can have a little parasol, so you have a little shade.

Dude, this is the wrong type of boat. That's the perfect boat. We were at a place where they served popcorn before we waited for our food. Before we waited. Before. While we waited.

Yeah, we're eating dinner and they serve as like a like a knot of chips and salsa. They bring around a fresh bowl of popcorn. Yeah.

And my entire family, all of you said, I don't want to share with mom. She makes a mess. I didn't say that. Yes, you did.

And I will remind you, I handed you your favorite popcorns. So I don't know what you're talking about.

Well, you weren't sharing with me. You were sharing with Beck. I was sharing with Emery, and she yelled at me first and said, Mom.

Well, I mean, you were making a mess because you were you weren't just scraping popcorn off the top. But then you said You were digging too deep You're a popcorn diver.

Quit diving for the popcorn. You said that.

I said you're a popcorn diver? Yes. I don't feel like that's something I said. I wrote it down.

Because that is exactly what you said.

I called you a popcorn diver. Yes. That's true.

You have to you. It's I it's amazing that I have any self-confidence at all because the amount of grief I get from you and the kids. Well, it's weird behavior. Why?

Why are you going so deep in the bowl?

It's a shallow bowl. Just scrape a few pieces off the top. They're light, so they burst out.

Because you're looking if you were picking up a couple across the top. I didn't, I did not like how our daughter was picking them up to prove a point. She was very aggressively like one popcorn mouth, one popcorn mouth. No one needs popcorn like that. Like you're not.

That's not how you're making the point. Because everybody likes to take a little handful, but you just gotta lightly scrape across the top and build it into your hand and then turn your hand over. You're kind of like digging down and like scoop. Like you're like a like a tractor. You know what I mean? Like you're taking the bucket down, trying to scoop like a tractor instead of just like scraping across a top into your hand. That's the difference. You're scooping. You're using your hand like a tractor scoop.

Yeah. That's what you do.

And then you spill it all over.

And then I pick up the pieces that are spilled.

All of dirty menus and stuff. And like that's just not good. Don't be a diver. Just scrape across the top.

It's fine. The next time we go out to eat, I don't care where it is. I'm sitting at a table by myself, so I can have my own bowl of popcorn or my own bowl of chips and salsa because you think I'm too big of a scooper. You are a scoop.

I'm a big scooper. You are when it comes to salsa, you are a big scooper. Am I the same type of scoop? Yeah, but your chip's an extension of your tractor bucket. Instead of just like dipping and scraping a little bit, you really go, you're a deep diver. Why are you trying to get that depth? I like food. Yeah. Yeah. I get that. I don't mind sharing with you. That's fine.

No, you all said, all of you said to me, I don't want to share popcorn with mom. I didn't say that. Yes, you did. No. You did too. You said you are you are a popcorn diver. Yeah. You gotta just do a light scrape on the top. Yeah, that's true.

But I didn't say I don't want to share with you. Say No one share popcorn with her. She eats all crazy. I know. You didn't say that.

I can't eat in front of anyone ever again because you guys have ruined me so much. I chew too loud. Just this morning I was eating some blueberries.

They were the crunchiest blueberries I've ever heard. That's not a crunchy food. And yet somehow it's amazing. I think you do it on purpose. You ate a kiwi and went sometime. And I went, what? And you were like, Kiwi's crunchy. And I said, No, it's not.

Sometimes I do it on purpose. Yeah, I know.

So I have to turn up the radio so I can't hear the blueberry chomps.

I was not making it crunchy for the blueberries. That one I was being very quiet. Quiet as a mouse. maybe Or yeah.

Maybe we just hear different. Like I hear a lot. Maybe. Like you know that. Like I hear all kinds of things. And you're like, how do you hear that?

It's just, I'm just amazed that I have as much confidence as I do.

You should be just over. You should be overflowing like a popcorn bowl. Deep dive on some confidence. Self-esteem. Overflow it. You know. It's all there.

Thanks to my own self. No thanks to any members of my pocket.

my family. I share popcorn with you all the time. We go to the movie, I share with you. Yeah. But that bucket is made to be deep dive. It's designed. The shallow bowl is a poor popcorn vessel. They need to what they need to do is replace the bowl. It's the bowl's fault.

Yeah. Thank you.

Right. It's not your eating method. It's the bowl. Thank you. I don't know what happened to you while we were uh staying in a guest room at your sister's house over the weekend, but something strange happened and you reverted to childhood and thought that our dog was your childhood dog, and in the middle of the night told Daniel to go to sleep. Yeah. I don't know.

Like I often confuse her for our former dog whose name was Stella. Yeah. And we used to call Stella Stella Luna. Yeah. So that makes sense. Our new dog's named Luna. So sometimes I go, Stella, Luna, la. Much as you do with your kids. But in the middle of the night, cold asleep, just out. And the dog is doing this, and uh.

Uh you and you go, go to sleep, Daniel. And I'm like, what? And then you went, Luna. Because What?

Even in that moment, I don't know what time it was. I was not coherent. And I went, go sleep, Daniel. And then I shook my head and I went, nope. Luna. That was bananas. I don't know where that came from.

And if I didn't know that you had a childhood dog named Daniel, that would have been a stranger moment. Like, what?

Who's Daniel? Yeah, what's going on?

Go to sleep, Daniel, huh? But I knew you had a dog named Daniel, and I went, Why Daniel? I don't know. Like that is that was a and that dog. Maybe because we were in your old hometown. It just not my old house. No, I know, but it all just clicked enough that you were like, that dog whining is Daniel. Go to bed, Daniel. Did you often yell at Daniel? No.

And that dog died when I was like 16. So that was 30 years ago. Yeah. I don't crazy. Crazy. You know what else happened that same night? Well, the dog kept whining. Well, yes. But also my sister had her grandkids over. They were staying the night. She's a grandma because she's old.

Three grandchildren, by the way, because she's way old. Go ahead. Oh man. Um.

So her, her, the grandkids were driving over to the house and they had fallen asleep in the car. And so their mom, my niece, carried the one in asleep, and then she just laid her down and she was sleeping. And then I heard in the middle of the night her wake up screaming, like kind of crying. It was early in the morning. Yeah. Yeah. But I was like, that is kind of terrifying to like fall asleep.

And wake up so wake up and be like, where am I? Yeah. True.

When's the last time that happened to you? It's been a long time since I've fallen asleep and been carried home and woke up somewhere else. Like that's that is a weird feeling. Yeah. Where you go, how did I get home? How did I Get here. Who put me in my bed?

Yeah, it's been a long time since someone carried me to bed. So sad day. You sleep where you lie down. We're adults now. No, I know.

I'm gonna throw a blanket. Well, you already have one. You don't need another one. I'll just go, good night. Kiss your forehead and go going to bed.

Sometimes that can be real romantic, Josh. What's that? Don't worry about it.

It's not it's I missed what you were saying. What can that be? What is? It's even worth it? Carrying you to bed? Yeah. Forget about it. Why? Because why? No way. Because where you're gonna fall asleep is gonna be downstairs in the theater. I'm not doing that. No. It's not you, it's me.

Oh yeah, it sure sounds like it.

No, I just refuse. It's me.

No self-confidence at all.

No, no, no. This is not about you. I would do it in a heartbeat if I wanted to. Why don't you want to? I don't want to carry you. That's so mean. From the theater up 14 stairs through the house, down the hall, into the bedroom. Yeah. No.

And then you put me down ever so gently. It won't be like that. No, I know it won't. It's fine. Whatever. It's never gonna happen.

I I wouldn't carry our daughter to bed. Like she's 17. It's not happening. Those days are gone. I got an old back. I know. I know. It's fine. I can get you that like chair that drives you up the stairs. That could carry you upstairs.

I wake up with bruises. You just threw me in it.

Yeah, I was like, toss you over my shoulder like caveman style. Go to bed. Sack of Tatoes. You know. Sometimes I get bored on the drive home. And it's hours long. And I'm just ready to be done. And so then I create a fun game. Sometimes it's boring just driving around town.

And that game gets played there too. And sometimes it's just boring driving. And I go, I need to entertain myself. And so I just start making up jingles for businesses. Sometimes they're good. Sometimes they're terrible. Most times they're not great. They always have the same tune.

I have, yeah. I I was copying your tune because I chimed in with a few. Yeah.

I'm trying to remember the tune.

I don't even remember the one I had. Was it for it was for Jiffy Lube, I think. No. Jiffy Lu. No. Jiffy Lube. No. No. It wasn't that. Which what was it? I don't know. You had a good one.

Yeah, but now we're trying to remember what was it for? Raising canes. Right. I don't remember. This was in Twin Falls. No? Yeah. It was in Pocatello. No, I made it up way before Pocatello. It was when we were leaving Twin Falls.

Oh, okay. And we were driving out of the parking lot next to Raising Canes, and I said, uh chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does. And I feel like they should pay me.

You had a you had a good tune. I cannot remember it for the life of me now. It was probably chickens don't. No, no. It wasn't that. It wasn't that. No.

But the line was chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does. Which I think is it's pretty brilliant.

It's pretty brilliant. Even the kids were like, yeah, that one's pretty good, Dad.

Because their whole thing is like their whole logo is raising canes, chicken fingers. And I thought, well, that's funny. Chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does. And that's all they have. Chicken fingers. That's right. Plus toast. And toast. Yeah. Which I think you could add.

That would be the that that'd be the part of the jingle that I would add. So do your part.

Chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does. And toast. Oh, good. It's on key. So they'll really buy that. Like, no. But I'm gonna tell you right now. I created that in the truck. And if all of a sudden I hear them say, Hey. Chickens don't have fingers, but raisin canes does. You know I'm gonna have to find a lawyer. He heard it here first. Right. I created that over the weekend out of my crazy brain.

I did the plus toast part. No, I know. I heard that. I want a piece of the pie.

That's like when Arby's uh did their whole thing, Arby's has the meats for sandwiches. Yeah, we were like, oh yeah, we should specify.

I'll just chime in on whatever you have. And slaw. Oh, good. It's just me always there, like Yeah. Surprise.

And Peggy. I get it. I know.

I'm just always trying to get some credit for something.

Peggy Skyler over here. Don't forget about her. She's part of this too.

Sing Seeing your seeing your chicken finger one again.

Chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does.

Oh, that that was good. That was the tune. I think so. Go again. I just did it. I know, do it again, though.

Chickens don't have fingers, but raising canes does. Plus toast. Yeah, plus toast. I don't know. We're gonna have to workshop it.

No, no need to. It's perfect. Plus toast. I think it's missing something. I just don't know what it is. Something.

Okay. Would you rather this or that?

Would you rather hear your name whispered once?

Just to just like a creepy thing. Like I mean, I I'm like, where am I?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're at home, maybe you're working on something, and all you hear is a Josh. One time. Yeah. That's weird. And then or you hear a knock at the door. But nobody's there. Yeah, I'll take the knock. You will? Yeah.

Somebody whispering my name all creepy. So yeah, I'll take the uh take the knock. Is it? Because I don't want them to know who I am. I just want them to be like pranksters. They're just ghost pranksters. Like, hey. And then they who is

it creepier to have your name whispered once, or is it creepier to have it like whispered like more repeatedly? Like you're working, maybe you're downstairs in the basement. You're working on like tying flies or something, and you hear your name whispered, and then maybe like 30 minutes later, it's whispered again. And then like 15 minutes later, it's whispered again.

Yeah, I th I would assume you were hiding somewhere and trying to scare me. That's what it would happen.

And then you look around and you see nothing.

No, I just would be like, okay, good job. I'm just And then I'd move on.

Is it creepier once or creepier repeatedly.

I think it's it's super creepy once because then you're like, did that happen? So you're left with that feeling. But I think if it if it was really gonna be creepy, it would increase with frequency and volume as as it progressed, and then maybe it kept getting closer. Like maybe you heard it and you thought it was like a thing, but it was like distant, maybe a couple rooms down the hall or something. Okay. And you were like, oh, that's weird. But then it started getting closer and louder. Yeah, see.

And then you get a tap on your shoulder, but no one's here. Whoa!

Wow! Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and take the knock on the door. Because it's less creepy. Yeah, I don't want them to know who I am. Yeah, that's it. You don't have to know me. Just just knock and run away.

What if you hear footsteps too? I hear footsteps all the time. But no one's home. But no one's home. I'd be like, well, the house is settling. Everything's fine. I know you are just you're too logical. I'd be like, what's happening? I gotta get out of here.

I mean, you run upstairs with the light off. Like you have to go. Someone's gonna grab me. Yeah, it's scary in the basement. No, it's not. Yeah. We have a very nice basement.

I know we do. It's not scary. It's dark. If anything's banging around, it's the washing machine.

It's fine. Would you rather this or that? Uh you've got a question. I don't know how to answer it though, but I only because I pre-read it. But go ahead, ask your question. If ghosts were real.

Yeah. What would you ask for? I don't know. I don't know that I need to have this conversation. Not with you.

I'm saying with the ghost. Like what kind of conversation would you have? I don't even know. You can ask it all kinds of stuff. I understand, but what's the what are you trying to learn? Well, it's all up. Quail. Quell Quail?

Okay. You would ask, like, what do you know? That's what I'm saying. What do you know? What do you know?

Why are you here? What do you know?

What happens when you die?

Okay. I mean, I guess. What happened? What do you know? What if it's uh boring? What if it's like, I'm just bored. Well, then that's whoa, what happened. I don't know what that was. Um, then that's what you know.

They'll tell us it's boring, and then we'll be like, no, we know it's boring. Yeah. I'm just bored. Right? Like all they can do is just drift around and they can't like you ever see ghosts with Patrick Swayze.

No, I've never seen it.

They have to they have to learn how to touch stuff. Yeah. Like what if you can't caps. What if you just can't? Yeah. And so then you're like constantly trying to grab stuff, but you can't. So you're just like, well, I can't do anything but float. Yeah, I'm bored. I Wanted to pick up my old crochet.

Yeah, you're just gonna try and do hobbies. You're like, oh, I was gonna try and do hobbies. I can't. Maybe I'd say, like, hey, where's uh where's the good fishing spots? I mean, you get to travel everywhere anytime you want. Like maybe you've seen where there's some good uh good fishing spots you know about. Maybe you can help a brother out, you know. I could use a little help. Where's where's the good fishing? Huh.

See, you could think of some things to ask a ghost.

Yeah, they might not know. They might be like, I have no clue. I'm um I'm a ghost. I'm a ghost. I don't know. I can't touch things. Yeah, I've I've got like a ring. I can only travel like this radius, and I don't know about there's no fishing here. So go ask a different ghost. That's what I would be. I would be the unhelpful one. They'd be like, what do you know?

I'd be like, I don't even have a brain. I'm just an apparition. I don't know what to tell you. I'm real boring. I can only travel between this wall and this wall, and I'm stuck here.

You're right. That would be a very boring conversation. Yeah, that's what I mean. I don't know. I would be a boring one. I hope you don't encounter any ghosts. Yeah. That you can talk to.

But it's an interesting question. You just want to ask all kinds of things. I do. Like, what do you know?

What do you know? What do you know? What's happening? What's going on? Tell me everything. Okay.
