East Lansing Michigan State received its first loss of the season against Big 10 opponent USC two weeks ago, following a bye week. MSU resumes conference play at Nebraska this past weekend with an unfortunate loss of 30 eight-twenty seven. Michigan State Basketball Lands' second twenty twenty six four star recruit Julius Avent.
Speaker 1:On Wednesday, October 1, four star recruit Julius Avent announced his verbal commitment to Michigan State on social media, picking the Spartans over programs such as finalists Sentinel and Xavier, as well as Providence, Penn State, Villanova, and others. Moving on to campus MSU news. University of Toronto professor denounces attacks on American universities at MSU event. Toronto professor Lambert Zoidervarth gave his lecture, Rescuing Scientific Truth from Authoritarian Attacks and Academic Neglect in a South Kedzie Hall classroom on Friday. The lecture draws from the Trump administration's efforts to dismantle core tenets of the higher education model by cutting federal funding for university based research programs and entering into lawsuits against Harvard University and Columbia University.
Speaker 1:More with MSU news. Gutta Department of Education maintains radio silence on MSU civil rights probe. Michigan State says it hasn't been contact by the US Department of Education about the 22 open civil rights investigations into the university since the administration of President Donald Trump said about dismantling the regulatory agency. More than six months since Trump signed an executive order calling for the closure of the department, MSU has not heard from the civil rights investigators to conduct interviews, review documents, or visit campus according to the university spokesperson, Amber McCain, nor has they received a formal update about the status of the investigation.
