Want again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. Guys, get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, a piece of pumpkin pie, and let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $5.55 a bushel, 550lb steer calf $4.07 Butcher hog in Iowa 64ยข a pound. and a lamb that's fat, in Billings, weighing a 100lbs will fetch you $2.20 a pound, but guys there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:It's thanksgiving. Hey. What are you thankful for? No. Wait. It is Thanksgiving, so nobody's listening, we can say whatever we want. Pistol pot.
OK Solberg:Nobody's listening because they're now having their 2nd piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. So since it's just you and me, Lord, I'll tell you what I'm thankful for. Lord, I'm thankful for you. I'm thankful for what you do in my life. Like, when I hold your hand, your spirit flows into me.
OK Solberg:And wasn't it said? But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such things, there is no law. Lord, I think that was Galatians 5:22 but no matter where it's listed in the bible, it's listed there somewhere. And I am thankful for that fruit.
OK Solberg:Yes, Lord. I'm thankful for love that I can share freely with my neighbor. I'm thankful for joy that wells up in my soul as I care for others. You know, Lord, I'm thankful for peace that calms my heart in every circumstance. I'm thankful for patience that steadies me when life feels slow or when it feels difficult.
OK Solberg:I'm thankful, Lord, for kindness that helps me treat others with gentleness and grace. I'm thankful for goodness that guides me guides me to do what is right and uplifting. You know, Lord, I'm thankful for faithfulness that keeps me steady and true in my commitments. I'm thankful for gentleness that softens my words and actions towards others. And finally, Lord, I'm thankful for self control that helps me choose what honors you over what just comes easy.
OK Solberg:And, Lord, I'm thankful for my wife and family. I'm thankful for our grandchildren. Oh, and, Lord, I'm thankful for my friends. They are a blessing from you. And I'm sorry that I'm going on and on here, Lord, but it's just you and me because everyone else is enjoying their family and that pumpkin pie.
OK Solberg:But, Lord, I'd be amiss if I didn't say thank you for allowing me to live in Phillips County. Yeah. Lord, it reminds me of that movie Sergeant York when the traveling salesman comes into their little town out in the middle of nowhere. And he says, you're reading a newspaper four days old. How did you folks get into this valley?
OK Solberg:And the old man in the rocking chair next to the pickle barrel, Lord, he rocks back and says, we was born here. Thank you, Lord, for Phillips County and the people here. None of us ever wanna be alone, and we are never alone when we live here. I can desire some fellowship, Lord, and I all I have to do is go to the post office even if I got the mail earlier. And I can see someone. You know, Lord, I can go to Albertsons and grab a shopping cart, and I can see my friends. Thank you, Lord, for our little Mayberry. Thank you, Lord, for Malta.
OK Solberg:Amen. Hey, Lord. Since nobody else is listening, I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna get another piece of pumpkin pie, and thank you that we never go hungry.
OK Solberg:You know, Lord, it reminds me of a little ditty that went like this. Thank god for dirty dishes, they have a tale to tell. While others may go hungry, we're eating pretty well.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
