Tim / GM:

Last time on Cloudfall. Brunch is the most important meal of the day. And that's why the party started their day off at Demi's for some pancakes and planning. The party parted ways with Oscar and started exploring the nicer neighborhoods of Backsy known as the Upperbs. They found a bathhouse, did some skinny dipping, and then got prettied up at the glamour boutiques.

Tim / GM:

Now they're in search of Poppy's cart, but a whole gauntlet of retail still awaits them. Hold on to your wallets. The 5 of you, having explored the boutiques around here, find yourself in more of an open market sort of area. You come into this plaza where you see a large fountain in the shape of backseat like the island itself like piled stone statue of like volcanic rock. 2 things take your attention as soon as you cross into here.

Tim / GM:

1, the smell. You get this complex, like, very herbal fragrance coming from a kiosk right next to you. Actually, let's have some perception checks all around.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, I'm doing a smell check. With advantage.

Tim / GM:

Oh, yes. You are.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm about the way.

Thomas / Guy:

I got 12.

Hannah / Eryn:

I got 7.

John / Doran:

7 for Aaron. 19, Jordan.

Hannah / Eryn:

15.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Interesting.

Tara / Journey:

Nat 20.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Nat 20.

Thomas / Guy:

Guy's a little new at Smell Inc.

Tim / GM:

Oh, okay. That's perfect. So Guy, I think what happens here is that whatever this fragrance is is all too much for you. It just gets kind of tangled into everything else and you really don't get much out of it. Poppy, you're struggling to smell past these strong fragrances to see if there's any kind of, like, food around here.

Tim / GM:

And you don't get any food from here, but you get this sudden crosswind coming from the nearby gardens. And that's where the food is at.

Hannah / Eryn:

Wow. How long are we gonna be here?

John / Doran:

I think we should shop around a bit. Yeah. Let's, just huddle up for a sec. We need to kinda decide, like, as a group real quick. What's, like, the level of, acquiring things for free that we're comfortable with?

John / Doran:

There's, like, varying perspectives in the group. I just wanna address it out that

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm set here.

John / Doran:

You mean Aaron style? Right.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Stealing. Well, I mean

John / Doran:

figure discount sort of thing.

Hannah / Eryn:

If you don't have money and you need something. I am not do you get it? With that.

John / Doran:

Alright. No tolerance over here. I mean, we'll have to vote on it, Poppy, if that's okay.

Thomas / Guy:

I would prefer not to resort to this method, but do we have enough money to acquire new goods? Last time we went shopping, phenom was our benefactor,

John / Doran:

and he is here. We don't have a ton of money.

Hannah / Eryn:

Listen. I'm all for purchasing things the way normal people do, but I've never had money before. And so if we have money to do that, great. I was raised to to believe that you're supposed to earn the things that you own. Well, you have to be good at stealing to be able to Get it.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. But did you work hard Oh. To to to earn it? Erin's, like, nodding like, yeah. I I have.

Hannah / Eryn:

I've trained my whole life.

Tara / Journey:

I mean, if it makes a difference, as far as I'm concerned, my money is your money. All of y'all.

Hannah / Eryn:

That's not really how the world works either. I like you.

John / Doran:

Okay. Here here's what we can do. How about, if if there's anything we need to warn the city that it might be an impending doom, then we can consider, you know, acquiring things. But I agree, Poppy. Yeah.

John / Doran:

Let's, we also wanna keep a low profile. So how about no thievery until we discuss it later? Is that fair?

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm I will just say if I don't see it happen, I don't know about it. Great. And I won't be stealing. Also, we need to think about buying back the rolling pin.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, yes. Yep.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, we can steal that too. That's a little harder to steal, I think.

John / Doran:

Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Because it doesn't go very fast.

Thomas / Guy:

But it's technically already ours.

John / Doran:

How how let let's just assess how much we have right now and then how much we need to earn. 0, guide. Okay. Thanks for that. Yep.

Hannah / Eryn:

I have $269 for me and Guy.

John / Doran:

Dollars. 216.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh my god. Poppy's nose starts bleeding.

Tara / Journey:

Poppy looks directly at the camera.

Tim / GM:

Who's that

Hannah / Eryn:

voice? Poppy has a pocket full of gold.

John / Doran:

Pocket full of gold. Great. Journey?

Tara / Journey:

Well, I haven't counted it in a long time, but I knew that my family left me with some maybe 400, but I don't have all that now.

Tim / GM:

Harry Potter over here.

Tara / Journey:

I I spent some, when we were in farewell.

John / Doran:

K.

Tara / Journey:

But I I have, I think, probably a little over 300 now.

John / Doran:

K. And, Erin?

Hannah / Eryn:

I just have some change. No no gold.

John / Doran:

Okay. Great. As a team, as as a as a whole party here let me just do a

Tara / Journey:

little spread pad. 335.

John / Doran:

Oh, shit.

Tara / Journey:

Hold on

Hannah / Eryn:

a sec. I would also like to point out that if we do get the rolling pin back, I can make us more money.

Tara / Journey:

Right? I think that's a priority because they don't have it for any good reason. Right.

John / Doran:

So as a group, we have 754. And Wow. How much did we say the or did we hear the rolling pin might cost us to get back?

Thomas / Guy:

I believe it was a number larger than that.

John / Doran:

Shit.

Tara / Journey:

Well, if we just explain what happened, then they'll be sure to just give it right back.

Thomas / Guy:

They shouldn't listen to reason.

Hannah / Eryn:

Might I remind us all we're in disguise, so we probably shouldn't just be approaching any city officials or

Tara / Journey:

I don't know

Hannah / Eryn:

if that find Phenom, then maybe he can he can change the rolling pin to look like something else, and then it won't be as suspicious

Thomas / Guy:

or something?

Tara / Journey:

If we if we can find phenom and get in contact with some of these best of backseat folk, maybe they can just work with the officials of the city because they'll know that we're here for good reasons, and we didn't mean to bring any mining tools on purpose. We didn't know the rules.

John / Doran:

Okay.

Tara / Journey:

Sure.

John / Doran:

So now we know how much gold we have between ourselves. Only essentials, maybe we can just peruse about and, go from there.

Tara / Journey:

Anybody who wants to get something, just let me know, and I'll do my best to haggle like you taught me, Darren.

Thomas / Guy:

Awesome. Good job. Most gracious, Jornean.

Tim / GM:

From an aerial perspective, we see all the 5 of you kind of huddled inward, all turn around at the same time to face a different direction and strike out to find something. In that moment, Journey, the first thing you settle on with that Nat twenty from earlier is the source of all those fragrances. You're pretty easily able to track down something so artificial. You can see someone's literally selling fragrances and they're letting them kind of waft into the open air. They look expensive and some of them, when you can isolate them, actually smell quite nice.

Tim / GM:

Looking past that kiosk with that same natural twenty, you also see an extremely familiar color scheme and some tattooed markings. You have a habit of making note of a lot of physical features and traits in your effort to kind of map out the greater world beyond your tribe. You made a very emphasized note about how Blight members tend to look and carry themselves.

Hannah / Eryn:

Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

You you know for sure that the blight has a presence here and that they're either tolerated or in control to some degree, because they're kind of out in the open.

Hannah / Eryn:

You mean just in this market? Or

Tim / GM:

So far, Journey's just seen them here in this market. But, yeah, Journey. You see 2 separate pods of these people. There's 2 2 pairs of people here.

Tara / Journey:

Hey, a Jordan?

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, yeah. I forgot I was Jordan.

Tara / Journey:

Rat.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I don't No. You know what? No. Go ahead.

Hannah / Eryn:

No. Wait. What was Jordan's accent?

Tim / GM:

I I'm pretty sure Jordan was

Tara / Journey:

like, oh, yes.

Tim / GM:

Tell me to mama. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Well then A Tim

Thomas / Guy:

Curry cat.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Yes. K. Jordan? Yes.

Tara / Journey:

I don't wanna alarm you, but

Hannah / Eryn:

No. You can't alarm me, baby. So my cat. No. That's different too.

Hannah / Eryn:

Shit.

Tim / GM:

It's technically still Erin.

Hannah / Eryn:

So It's fine. That's fine.

Tara / Journey:

Right. Well, I'm just looking around here, and I see there might be some folks in the black hanging around.

Hannah / Eryn:

Well, Jordan puts one arm around Soma and says, at least they won't recognize us.

Tara / Journey:

I I don't think they would anyway because they're not necessarily the phone we saw back in farewell.

Hannah / Eryn:

I wrap my tail around your tail. Oh, just pretend just pretend we're together.

Tara / Journey:

Journey puts, an awkward arm around Aaron as Jordan as well.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's technically a leg.

Tara / Journey:

A top leg. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

Top leg. A front leg.

Tim / GM:

No. They're Tabaxi, not cats. With all of this kind of, staring at the blight and past this kiosk, the, fragrance salesperson takes it the wrong way and starts approaching the 2 of you, and they uncork a bottle. This guy kind of swipes his hand through his hair and then holds the bottle up to your nose and he says, you, looking for the good stuff?

Tara / Journey:

I don't know what that means. Do you have anything that kinda smells like like the forest?

Tim / GM:

You see him look around and you catch him, like, looking over at a pile of mulch on the ground, and he looks back up at you and he says, we deal in, higher end. Concoctions, alchemy, you know, the real magic. Not so much in the, dirt and loam.

Tara / Journey:

What about dirt and loam to you is not inherently magical? Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

Don't worry about my little sister cat here. We are gonna go ahead and

Tara / Journey:

just be on our way.

Thomas / Guy:

Hold up. Thank you.

Tara / Journey:

Well, hold on. Sister slash lover.

Tim / GM:

I didn't even give you my pitch. Let me show you 3.

Tara / Journey:

But No. Hold on. I I don't understand.

Hannah / Eryn:

Come on, Selma.

Tara / Journey:

Nature is where magic originates.

Hannah / Eryn:

Aaron's gonna pull Soma away from the vendor.

Tara / Journey:

You're missing a good opportunity there.

Hannah / Eryn:

Alright. Alright.

Tim / GM:

He kind of, like, recorks it and is, like, staring at you, and he's like, you're the one that missed the opportunity.

Tara / Journey:

Gotta keep a low profile. I didn't know what to say. He came up to me. Yeah. Just say no thank you and walk away.

Tara / Journey:

Is that is that what you do when you're in a place? Okay.

Tim / GM:

How about you there, brave sir knight and brave sir knight's son? I either of you looking for something a little more, smell worthy?

Thomas / Guy:

Well, I wouldn't mind, taking a whiff.

Tim / GM:

Now, here's a new one. This is straight from Lyria Luna and Holly Hyacinth. It's a collaboration. This one's called Fucking Get It.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yes. Yes.

Tim / GM:

You'll hear this little, like, as he, undoes, cork in a in a glass vial, and he just kind of wafts it under your nose for, like, a quick second, guy. And you don't really use your nose, do you, Guy?

Thomas / Guy:

Danny made I might need your help on this one.

Tim / GM:

No? Oh, yeah. Oh, of course. It's gotta be near the sword, though.

Thomas / Guy:

Guy does a pretend sniff and then kind of turns around 360 to do a back sniff from a sword.

Tim / GM:

That's, like, on his back. Right? Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

You you kinda hear this vacuum noise come from the sword momentarily. Yeah. He he samples the scent for you, and it's incredibly alluring. But you can you can tell there's, like, there's something, like, weirdly stanky about it. Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

But, like, you don't get into that side of it. It's like your brain knows to stay away from that. He he tries to debut a couple others in the same way. They all change your impression of him momentarily. One of them, he only lets you get, like, a tiny sniff as if it's gonna run out of vapors.

Tim / GM:

That one, you're not quite sure. It doesn't smell good at all to you. The other 2 were much better.

Thomas / Guy:

Wow. I am having trouble knowing what to make of all these senses. What what do you think, boy?

John / Doran:

Are there any that, the ladies like?

Thomas / Guy:

You cared.

John / Doran:

What do you expect, father? I'm a strapping young lad.

Thomas / Guy:

This is a very weird family.

Tim / GM:

He's just kind of, like, giving you guys eyebrows watching you 2 go back and forth, and he's like, well, depends what kind of little ass you're going after. If it's, a

Thomas / Guy:

Little ass.

Hannah / Eryn:

Little ass. I did kinda sound

Tim / GM:

bad. I'm keeping that in just so I can absolve myself.

Hannah / Eryn:

Kinda sounds like what little ass you go

Thomas / Guy:

for. That's

John / Doran:

not what

Tim / GM:

I said. Wow. Alright.

John / Doran:

How about quantity and quality?

Hannah / Eryn:

I love this. I love this. So good.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. He he actually recommends the second scent to you. This one's called biter.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh.

Tim / GM:

It, works pretty well right off the bat. It's potent. But, it does tend to wear off over time. People go nose blind pretty quick. Now That can happen?

Tim / GM:

If it's commercial dealings if it's commercial dealings you're looking to get an edge on, then you're gonna wanna go after the fucking get it. A lot of people recognize that and, they appreciate the sense. It usually greases the wheels on transactions. I find customers getting anywhere 20 to 25% off their deals.

Thomas / Guy:

So you can use it as a wheel lubricant?

John / Doran:

Yeah. Father, it's my birthday today. Can can we get the commercial one?

Thomas / Guy:

It's your birthday today.

Tim / GM:

Well, hold on. I didn't give you the full lineup because this one here I mean, yeah, it's a 100 gold to vial, but if they are high class enough to even recognize this stuff, you are in.

John / Doran:

And which one is this?

Tim / GM:

That's called vial number 9.

Thomas / Guy:

So you're saying this scent could be recognized by, say, the top ten of society.

Tim / GM:

I would say only the best in vaccine recognize this scent.

John / Doran:

How about can I get the commercial one, and we'll just call it good there?

Tim / GM:

Sure. Yeah. I can get you a vial of the commercial one. It's called fucking get it for the 3rd time. Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

That one's just 25 gold. Holly knows how to run a deal.

John / Doran:

Okay. Fucking get it. 25 gold right here, good sir.

Tim / GM:

You got it. You fucking got it.

John / Doran:

How many times does it work?

Tim / GM:

He looks over the notes. It doesn't say.

John / Doran:

I spray some in his face. Sir Yeah.

Tim / GM:

That's how it works.

John / Doran:

Yes. Sir, I'm very interested in, something and, are you okay? What? Are you okay? I didn't did I do it right?

Tim / GM:

You sprayed on you, not the person you're going after.

John / Doran:

Oh, okay. I sprayed on myself too. I heard you had something that the high class clientele are interested in.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. It's this one.

John / Doran:

And, how much does it cost?

Thomas / Guy:

It's a 100 gold.

Tim / GM:

I don't know about that.

John / Doran:

I don't know about that.

Thomas / Guy:

Boy, I'm so confused.

John / Doran:

I believe I just fucking got it, and I'm gonna get it.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, you're using the Yeah. Or

John / Doran:

Guy. Guy. Yeah. That's what God.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. Okay. No. Well, as good as you smell, you should get a discount.

John / Doran:

And it's my birthday, if that counts right.

Thomas / Guy:

And it's his birthday. I conceived him on this day.

John / Doran:

Well, is

Thomas / Guy:

that what birthdays are?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You know what?

Tara / Journey:

It is your birthday.

Tim / GM:

It is typically a 100 gold, but it's your birthday, like you said.

John / Doran:

Thank you. Your dad's here.

Tim / GM:

Hello. And you're wearing, might I say, a really nice fragrance.

John / Doran:

Why thank you.

Tim / GM:

Let me just ponder it for a second. Mechanically. You see him kind of, like, look down at the ground. He looks over at the, 2 people that he had just failed selling to over at Journey and Aaron, or should I say Soma and Jordan. Jordan.

Tara / Journey:

Soma Soma's still pointing at the ground and then gesturing angrily toward the stall again.

Tim / GM:

You see a kind of, like, flash of realization in this guy's eyes? And then he looks back at Doran, and he says, yeah. You know what? I'm gonna give you a discount.

John / Doran:

Oh? Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I can go up to 15% off. How's 85 gold sound?

John / Doran:

I feel like that's getting closer to what is acceptable on my birthday.

Thomas / Guy:

Which birthday is it?

John / Doran:

I think it's my It's a

Thomas / Guy:

big one.

John / Doran:

It's my 20 5th birthday.

Thomas / Guy:

That's a big one.

John / Doran:

Not my 15th birthday.

Thomas / Guy:

No. You're too old for that. What? Really flew by.

John / Doran:

Yeah. Such a nice number.

Thomas / Guy:

I remember when you were still in diapers.

Hannah / Eryn:

Diapers. I've

John / Doran:

never heard that word was supposed to be a while. Myself.

Thomas / Guy:

That's right.

Tim / GM:

How's 80 gold sound? That's perfect. Brilliant.

John / Doran:

Okay. Good, sir. I love your stuff, and, here's 80 more gold.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Money exchanges hands, and, he seems very pleased with himself.

John / Doran:

Okay. I spent a 105 gold.

Tim / GM:

Aaron, watching this transaction, you get the sense that the vendor still won in the end.

Hannah / Eryn:

I I was really tempting to, steal it while they were having this discussion. But I resisted.

Thomas / Guy:

What was what was the second fragrance called?

Hannah / Eryn:

Vial number 9.

Thomas / Guy:

Vial number 9.

Tim / GM:

Sorry. Thank

Hannah / Eryn:

you. There's 3 things.

Tim / GM:

I introduced them in the wrong order.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, no. Fucking get it.

Tim / GM:

Fucking get it. Gives you a chance to reduce the price of a transaction by up to 20%. Biter, makes you very charming to people for a short time and then they become nose blind to it and they start to dislike you.

Thomas / Guy:

I've missed yeah. Okay.

Tara / Journey:

It's friends.

Tim / GM:

And then vial number 9, only high end people, like, know the scent and will appreciate it. Everybody else will just ignore it.

Thomas / Guy:

And you bought vial number 9? And fucking them. Yep. Okay.

John / Doran:

We killed the guy.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, that was rough. Were we convincing?

John / Doran:

I think so. It was good practice.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. Seeing as Eren and Journey all already have their new fursonas. Fursonas. Should we adopt, new names as well?

John / Doran:

I think dad and son are

Hannah / Eryn:

good. Oh,

Thomas / Guy:

perfect. Yes.

John / Doran:

We can just go with that.

Thomas / Guy:

Poppy, would you like a code name?

John / Doran:

I can call you Poppy.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, Poppy. That's clever.

John / Doran:

I like it. Sorry.

Hannah / Eryn:

I think Poppy is probably not in the vicinity. She would not have Poppy. Let that conversation happen.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Where did Poppy wander off to? Following her nose. Okay. You follow your nose out to kind of the edge of this market.

Tim / GM:

Poppy, you are leaning up against this wrought iron railing. You're looking down maybe 60 feet or so, this kind of, like, masonry stone wall. And in front of that, a quarter of the upperbs is taken up by this huge sprawling garden that kind of surrounds the island like a skirt almost. And this giant, like, ring is where, like, food kiosks could kind of circle all day, and it's just like an endless food buffet if you stand in one place and let the wagons wagons roll by.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, like slow moving. Yeah. Okay.

Tim / GM:

Yep.

Hannah / Eryn:

Or they

Tim / GM:

just shift every couple hours kinda thing. Okay. But it's it's

Hannah / Eryn:

just great

Tim / GM:

to go down to the park and walk around in a big circle and see all the sites, watch all the birds, and get some food.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's Epcot. Yeah. Can I just, like, observe for a while and see which shops are doing well, what kind of food it is?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah. Give me a an investigation from a distance.

Hannah / Eryn:

Nat 20, bitch. Woah. Sorry. I keep calling people bitch.

Tim / GM:

You just keep calling, like, the event a bitch.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Looking off the railing here, you first start looking at, like, the real, like, meal people, and you're seeing, like, a moderate draw. It's like around lunchtime now, so, you know, people are coming in for, you know, sandwiches and banh mi and doesn't look that busy. What you do notice is the sweets. That's drawing constant crowds. Also, there's a couple other bubble tea wagons, similar to the one that you had seen earlier.

Tim / GM:

Also seems to be popular around here, but everybody is getting down on, like, hard confections and, like, the most dolled up pink and purple and yellow, like, frosting sugars sweet sweet sweet.

Hannah / Eryn:

So, like, really aesthetic, super confectionery stuff.

Tim / GM:

See them kind of swarming in circles and, like, crystal recording with their Venus crystals making holograms of all of their food. They seem to care about the look of it more than the taste in some cases.

Tara / Journey:

Okay. The most popular booth though? Just butter.

Tim / GM:

Oh my god. It's a it's a ceramic wagon with just a lid. Butter. And it's just been followed by

John / Doran:

a trail of

Tara / Journey:

tobaccuses. It's a buttered trough.

Tim / GM:

They're all trying to lick it.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

So, Poppy, when you do come back looking for your friends, you don't exactly find them, right away. They're not in the same spot. You have to kind of travel around the bazaar a little bit until you do see them and they are all kind of hovering before a single traitor. It's this brown and black Tabaxi with a single eye and an eye patch over the other. He's being flanked by 2 tabby colored Tabaxi guards, wearing armor and big stupid fluffy helmets and big portly guts.

Tim / GM:

However, this trader, this shop that he set up has a pretty big bubble around it where nobody seems to want to go. There seems to be this kind of air of reverence or respect for his shop in specific where nobody wants to, you know, cramp his style. He's got a lute in his hands and he was kinda plucking away at strings, and then he looks up at your group and he says, greetings.

Hannah / Eryn:

Hey there. What's your name?

Tim / GM:

Please, you may address me as Bobka.

Hannah / Eryn:

Bobka. Good afternoon. You smell nice?

Tim / GM:

Mhmm. A young stranger with manners. Perhaps we should talk more. Is there anything upon my blanket that you fancy?

Hannah / Eryn:

I mean, it all looks very fancy.

Tim / GM:

Indeed. How about this for you? And he bends over and he picks up this, it's kind of a golden looking helm. It's either like platinum or brass or something, but it's got some yellowy sheen to it among the silver. And he kind of like plops it on your head and Poppy, it's like 5 sizes too big for you.

Hannah / Eryn:

Maybe not me?

John / Doran:

Poppy looks wonderful on you.

Tim / GM:

No? Not for you? Have you never wanted to read somebody's mind?

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, well, I don't think any of that's my business.

Tim / GM:

Perhaps this is better fit on somebody else then.

John / Doran:

Father, that looks like it could fit on you.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. It does, boy. You, girl.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yes, father?

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. My only daughter.

John / Doran:

Dude, I never knew I had a sister. This is quite a weird place to have this revelation.

Thomas / Guy:

Well, I thought for your birthday, I would get you a sister.

Tim / GM:

Such an eventful day for this family.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. May I try on the helm, please?

Tim / GM:

Indeed. Be quite careful with it. It is the helm of telepathy. And he picks it up and very carefully, gracefully sets it on your head, Guy.

Hannah / Eryn:

Is it actually made of gold?

Thomas / Guy:

Guy thinks to himself, I wonder what other people think about this helmet.

Tim / GM:

He sees your eyes kind of, like, you know, swirling in your head trying to, like, telepathy other people, and And then he just stops and he goes, no. No. What you're hearing right now, they're your own thoughts.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, yes. They sounded very familiar.

Tim / GM:

Indeed it takes a bit of time to attune.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, more attunement.

Tim / GM:

Indeed. However, I guarantee you the effect will work. I stake my reputation on

Thomas / Guy:

it. One moment. Let me check my attunement slots. I'm sure this happens all the time.

Tara / Journey:

Where someone's nose starts bleeding and their eyes are just, like

Tim / GM:

Every time they reference reality.

Thomas / Guy:

Yep. Yeah. Well, I'm very interested, but I do not wish to make the purchase until I know how the telepathy works. Is this agreeable?

Tim / GM:

But, of course, you are due the information. It's a heavy helm. It's not much good for battle, but you need only focus on anyone that you can see, and you can communicate telepathically in both directions. At will, ad nauseam, to your heart's content. Yes.

Hannah / Eryn:

Guy, that might be pretty useful for, when you don't have access to an echo bell or hands.

Thomas / Guy:

Or hands. Yes. I have one more normal question.

Tim / GM:

I have one strange answer.

Thomas / Guy:

Should the head be separated from one's body, would the helm still work?

Tim / GM:

It matters not as long as the head is living.

John / Doran:

Father, you are so stinky. Come here. And, Doran is going to try to sleight of hand spray the, discount potion on guy here.

Tara / Journey:

While Doran is doing that, Journee is gonna ask a question as well. Excuse me. You said as long as the head is liven'?

Tim / GM:

As long as there is consciousness inside of it.

Tara / Journey:

Alright. So if, for instance, someone was slightly undead, would that be alright?

Tim / GM:

Hasn't been an issue in the past. Alright.

John / Doran:

You know a lot about this helmet. It's very impressive.

Tim / GM:

It seems as if you're asking if Adolan's going to wear it, but what do I know?

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. That would be really weird.

Tim / GM:

Really weird?

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Right.

Thomas / Guy:

Pretty weird.

Tara / Journey:

Very very strange.

John / Doran:

So do I get off a little a little spritz on Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Give me a, give me a stealth Okay. Against Babka's perception. Okay?

Tara / Journey:

Can I give Darn advantage for asking a question and trying to be distracty?

Tim / GM:

Oh, I see. As, like, a help kinda thing? Yeah. Yeah.

John / Doran:

Thank you. Thank you. Nat twenty.

Hannah / Eryn:

Woah. Bam. Bitch. That's

Tara / Journey:

3 nat twenty so far.

John / Doran:

No joke. There's a squid on my

Tara / Journey:

dice. Insane. Yep. It's a kraken, John.

John / Doran:

Whatever.

Hannah / Eryn:

A kraken? What is a kraken, if not a very large squid? It's a magical squid.

Tim / GM:

K. Babka also got

Hannah / Eryn:

Is that what you roll?

Tim / GM:

Babka also got a natural twenty.

Hannah / Eryn:

What? That's the 4th

Thomas / Guy:

minute twenty today. What do we

Tim / GM:

do in that situation? So okay. You take out the spray and you're, like, going to spray it onto Guy. You're holding it the wrong direction. You spray it on yourself, and Babka is standing, and he's walking towards you.

Tim / GM:

And his guards, like, reach for their sides to grab at their swords. He's standing up with his own loot, and he continues to pluck as he walks towards you. Mhmm. And he says, fast hands. Let's see them.

John / Doran:

These hands. And Thorin, like

Tara / Journey:

Just some weird hand motions in the air.

John / Doran:

Yeah. Trying to, like, dissipate the perfume a behind my back and pull out my lute

Tim / GM:

Oh my god. And then clang.

John / Doran:

Clang.

Thomas / Guy:

He got this for his 24th birthday.

John / Doran:

But I'm 25 now.

Tim / GM:

Are you sure that wasn't for

John / Doran:

your first birthday? I I wouldn't remember because I didn't retain memories that first year. Strangely pragmatic of you. Now Babco, what are we doing here?

Tim / GM:

He's continuing to pluck, and now he's just got your eyes locked on his one eye. He's somehow wrangling both of your eyes with his one, kind of bouncing between yours. Still plucking, he says. I see you have come to fucking get it, as they say.

John / Doran:

Doran's plucking along, but then he starts doing, like, offbeat notes to lead into the notes that, Babka's plucking. Like, he's droning, but I'm I'm kinda, like, starting to add a melody to

Tim / GM:

it. Very well. You should know he keeps pace with you beautifully. Bobco does not give You need an upgrade. He begins to play at a rapid pace that makes a fool of you suddenly, Almost like he's doubling your off beats that you were trying to do.

Tim / GM:

He's put you in a position where you are made to play the rhythm to his lead now. I need you to roll performance against Bobcat. Okay.

Tara / Journey:

I got demoted to base.

John / Doran:

16.

Tim / GM:

I rolled a 16 as well.

Tara / Journey:

Wow. What the devil went down to Georgia?

Tim / GM:

You okay.

John / Doran:

That's not gonna let me know.

Hannah / Eryn:

He was looking for a loot to steal.

Tim / GM:

As Bobco changes his progression to push you into the rhythm Mhmm. You stay on it, and you actually manage to fluidly move in to a different chord progression that makes a fool out of him, kind of taking the power back. You guys are practically evenly matched trading b for b. It's a wonder why you don't just work together. I need another performance check.

John / Doran:

Bobka, let's keep this civilized. How about we each get 8 bars and

Tim / GM:

Oh, no. We fight dirty until until you prove yourself. Here it comes.

Hannah / Eryn:

Poppy's clapping off to the side.

John / Doran:

I got a 18 this time. Okay.

Tim / GM:

Babka, you know, he tries to pitch the strings up really high and do some bent, but his finger slips. Oh. And you hear this, and it just slides up the fretboard. Embarrassed, he kind of goes back to the low notes and repeats the primary rhythm again and staring you down with a grin on his face.

John / Doran:

That off note that he did for the bend, I, Doran incorporates that into the scale. So it's like a weird, like just starts emphasizing it and it starts to work. Okay. Like, I see what you're doing, Bob. Go.

John / Doran:

Alright.

Tim / GM:

I'll give it to you if you know a performance check. Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

Fuck. That's cancelled. No.

Thomas / Guy:

That's my boy.

John / Doran:

Natural one.

Tim / GM:

Oh, wow.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's the worst time to roll a 1.

John / Doran:

Okay. Do I have anything?

Tara / Journey:

I don't know. Fail forward. Fail forward.

Tim / GM:

You try to work that into your scale progression, and you just you realize halfway through, you've got nowhere to go, you're already too low to keep it going, and you're, like, reaching for strings that don't exist. The 2 of you just kind of smile at each other realizing there were mistakes on both sides. Babka says, blame it on the poor instrument. What's your name, my friend?

John / Doran:

Doran Driscoll.

Tim / GM:

Doran, I've had this loot a long time, but I'd like to give you the chance to purchase it off of me for a fair price. Originally, I paid 350 gold for this. Born over time, of course. Let's take it down to 250. But with so much history and all the performances behind it, 550 minimum.

Tim / GM:

But with that comes the pride, so probably 250 again. But the legacy of adventure and battle, easily 750 gold.

John / Doran:

I flipped my piece of paper trying to do some calculations here.

Tim / GM:

Doran, I would like to sell this to you for the fair price of 1 gold piece and a

John / Doran:

favor. Babka, what favor is this?

Tim / GM:

The favor is that you will trust me to ask you a favor in the future.

John / Doran:

Doran takes a second and eyes Babka. I want to make this into an insight check, but, I just wanna kinda understand based on the melodies he was playing, if I can glean any sort of, like, history of where he might be from. Is it all, like, kind of outlandish things of the Scollins I would have no familiarity to, or would it kind of, like, peg him to a certain location?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Let's give it a probably a history check.

John / Doran:

History, 17.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You can tell Babka's well traveled. Much of, like, the performance music you would heard around here is very, like, upbeat, cheery, bright, simple melody. Babka was doing something closer to what you hear in Dawn's Edge, closer to what you hear on Lotem.

John / Doran:

Babka, I can't help but notice you have studied the classics of the mainland. Mhmm. Indeed. I I have an inclination to trust your judgement based on that. I think we have an accord here.

Tim / GM:

He reaches out a furry paw.

John / Doran:

Journey, can I borrow a gold piece?

Tara / Journey:

Absolutely.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay.

Tara / Journey:

And Journey hands over a gold piece.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. Did you spend all of your cash? Shh. Oh my god.

John / Doran:

I hand Bobka a gold piece.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. You guys shake on it. He hands you his loot. He says, so that I won't be left without an instrument altogether, could I he gestures towards your old lute.

John / Doran:

I look it over. I've been with this since I was a young child. Bob Kai entrusts us with you and how you'll take care of it. It should feel familiar.

Tim / GM:

He, takes it and gives it just a really ginger, like, plucking on the g chord kinda thing. But he's looking at you and smiling as he does, and then all of a sudden, he frowns and goes, did you go swimming with this?

John / Doran:

In a sense, yes.

Hannah / Eryn:

Well, glad you got that favor right out of the way.

Tim / GM:

Yes. The rest of you. So sorry for the intensity of that exchange.

Thomas / Guy:

Looks like all those private lessons paid off, son.

Hannah / Eryn:

But father, you never gave me private lessons. How unfair. It's because I'm your daughter.

Thomas / Guy:

That's right.

Hannah / Eryn:

Aaron is Jordan. He's looking over the rest of the wears on the cloth now that the show is over.

Tim / GM:

Do I have anything that, piques the interest of any others?

Hannah / Eryn:

Aaron is, eyeing up some daggers.

Tim / GM:

Mhmm. Yes. Double fox daggers.

Hannah / Eryn:

Double double fox. Is that what I just heard?

Tim / GM:

Double fox.

Hannah / Eryn:

Double fox. Got it. Got it. Got it. It.

Hannah / Eryn:

May I?

Tim / GM:

He hands one of the daggers to you, and he's holding on to the other one himself.

Hannah / Eryn:

Aaron's gonna flip it around in their hand.

Tim / GM:

He, gestures to you, with an open hand. He says, may I? As if to take back the dagger.

Hannah / Eryn:

Aaron nods and hands it back to him.

Tim / GM:

As you go to hand it back, he just sort of holds up the dagger that he's holding, and the loose one in your hand goes flying towards him, and he catches it. He says, Dopplefox Daggers always want to be together. No matter how far you throw them, they will seek each other always. He, gestures to show it's quite easy to set the daggers down in one place, put a foe between you and the dagger, and call it back to you to stab them in the back.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. That could come in handy. I also ran out of daggers recently, so been looking for something else.

Tim / GM:

Also easy to recover 1 throne. Highly useful. For these, I would ask 300 gold pieces.

Hannah / Eryn:

Might be out of my budget right now, but I'll keep it in mind. And Aaron gives it back?

Tim / GM:

Very well.

Hannah / Eryn:

Also, I'm saying Aaron Aaron is Jordan. FYI.

Tim / GM:

No. It's fair.

Hannah / Eryn:

Haven't changed yet. How quickly does your stock go?

Tim / GM:

I wait for the right buyer. Things tend to last a while. I'm in no urgent need of the funds.

Hannah / Eryn:

Are you always in this market?

Tim / GM:

I am always right here.

Hannah / Eryn:

Good to know. I just don't think we have the funds right now.

John / Doran:

Father, thank you for all these birthday gifts I got earlier. I don't know where that voice came from. Sorry, Babka. We already met. I have a couple things.

John / Doran:

I was wondering if you could help assess, how much value you would, place on these, and I, open my in a bit and pull out the necklace, you know, and, like, move it over my spiky, anime hair.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

It gets, like, tangled up in your hair locks as you're trying to pull it off. Babka takes a look at it, and he says, the relic of, Gond. McLaren?

John / Doran:

Of course.

Thomas / Guy:

Well, they're gond now.

Tim / GM:

Jeez. You hear one of the tabby guards go

John / Doran:

Such a

Thomas / Guy:

dad joke, father.

Tim / GM:

He says, fine exquisite work of craftsmanship. I would trade this for 300 gold.

Thomas / Guy:

300 gold. That's dagger money.

Tim / GM:

No shit.

John / Doran:

We can keep the math simple. Jordan, we've been pleasant acquaintances.

Hannah / Eryn:

I can

John / Doran:

see you eyeing those daggers. How about, we make an exchange here? And I hand the necklace to babka.

Hannah / Eryn:

Jordan, like, puts one paw on the dagger on the blanket and then, like, takes their paw back and then, like, puts the paw back on it and touches it again, the dagger, and then, like, moves the paw back and then just slowly, like, pet, pet, pet, pet, pet, pet, pet the dagger towards the edge of the blanket.

John / Doran:

Sorry. Could I do an insight to just see if that seems like a fair price? Or

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Okay.

John / Doran:

I think that seems right. So I got a 17.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. To this point, you know, Bob has gone out of his way to treat you as a special customer. It would be pretty dastardly for him to, like, lie to you about something like this after having, you know, shown that kind of forward friendship like that.

John / Doran:

Okay. Sounds good. I hand over the necklace.

Hannah / Eryn:

Thanks, boy. Boy, Dorn.

John / Doran:

You can call me son.

Hannah / Eryn:

Son. I pick up the daggers with my cat paw, and then catch it with my front paw.

Tim / GM:

I'm happy to have the necklace. I don't much like hanging on to such lethal things. I trust you'll do good with them.

Hannah / Eryn:

You just see Jordan flinging the daggers around their paw fingers and just, like, doing crazy tricks with them and trying to trying out the magnetic match between them or, like, the magic pawn and just doing some fun stuff.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You're, like, trying to get used to the, you know, the magnetism as you called it of them attracting to each other. And without them being attuned quite yet, you, like, hold them out to the side and drop them, and they both just fall to the ground. And you're like, it doesn't work.

Hannah / Eryn:

That's a pretty ring. The the one that looks like a ram.

Tim / GM:

He leans down and grabs the ring of the ram and holds it up to you, and it's like it's like this was made for a serious, like, sausage fingers kinda person. Like, the ring is so big, and he says, let's check the fit.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. I don't think it'll

Tim / GM:

You hold out your hand, and as the ring comes over your finger, it actually shrinks down, like, immediately to fit onto your finger.

Hannah / Eryn:

Wow. That's pretty cool. Nothing usually fits me right away. I have to get my clothes tailored.

Tim / GM:

It's a good fit indeed, although I understand the ring is quite heavy.

Hannah / Eryn:

Is it?

Tim / GM:

A little bit. It's a little bulky. Yeah. It's, packs quite a punch.

Hannah / Eryn:

Do you mean that literally?

Tim / GM:

I do. Have you ever been, head butted by a goat?

Tara / Journey:

Can't say I have.

Hannah / Eryn:

I can imagine what it feels like.

Tim / GM:

It's a lot of fun. So imagine this ring has just a bunch of goats in it. You basically point the ring at something and you summon the goat, and a spectral ram will destroy what you point at.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, that's pretty cool, dad. Can I get a hold of my own in a fight?

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. In all the fights we get in as a family.

Hannah / Eryn:

Do I dare ask how much this is?

Tim / GM:

For this incredible work of art, I would charge 350 gold pieces.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, that's that packs quite a punch too.

John / Doran:

Well, sister, I love you deeply

Tim / GM:

No. Mm-mm.

John / Doran:

As as your brother. And,

Hannah / Eryn:

That's so weird.

Tim / GM:

It brings

Thomas / Guy:

it brings a tear to this old man's eye.

John / Doran:

Doran, reaches into his satchel and pulls out a small owl figurine.

Hannah / Eryn:

No. You can't sell owly. Not for this.

Tim / GM:

It's mine. And what is this? This.

Hannah / Eryn:

This is our family pet. He has no right.

John / Doran:

Babka is an owl. Mhmm. If you lick it thrice, you will be gifted with much rock candy. And I hand over the owl carefully and gently.

Tara / Journey:

You unstick your fingers

Hannah / Eryn:

from the owl. Okay. You can't sell a quest item.

Tim / GM:

When you hand him owly, he, like, looks it over, and it's got, like, a bunch of, like, lint and hair on it. And, like, it's just been rolling around in your pack collecting breadcrumbs for the last couple days. He says, have you licked this?

John / Doran:

Yes. But that that that's required for the activation, so it's not weird or anything that that's just part of how it works. Do you I I I can do it right now if you want.

Hannah / Eryn:

Go ahead and show him, Doran.

John / Doran:

Okay. I take it back, and then I,

Hannah / Eryn:

like I

John / Doran:

don't know. I don't know.

Tim / GM:

Oh, please. I can't bear to watch this. Alright. And you're licking it?

John / Doran:

Yep. Three times.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. As you get to the 3rd lick, you hear

Thomas / Guy:

a 3.

Tim / GM:

And owly explodes onto the scene kind of shedding rock candy into this little market area. A few people give this shop an even wider birth as they see that happen, and a few people kind of break out their crystals and start recording you.

John / Doran:

Wonderful show, Owly.

Tim / GM:

Owly's kinda, like, looking around, like, big owl eyes, like, staring up at all of Bakstein. He's like, oh.

Thomas / Guy:

I forgot he has something in his mouth.

Hannah / Eryn:

Hi, Owly.

John / Doran:

Owly, this is probably the last time we'll see you. We're going to sell you.

Thomas / Guy:

What is it? What is it?

John / Doran:

You. Woah. I think I trust this man, though, and you'll be in good hands until he sells you to someone else. So Woah. I guess this

Thomas / Guy:

is good.

Hannah / Eryn:

Hey. Darn.

Thomas / Guy:

You can't do this.

John / Doran:

I thought you wanted that that ring.

Thomas / Guy:

I don't want it this much.

John / Doran:

We'll see. We'll we'll just see.

Tim / GM:

Ali It's family.

John / Doran:

Okay. Ali, it depends how much value this, stranger places upon you onto whether or not we keep you.

Hannah / Eryn:

Can't believe you.

Tim / GM:

My dear friends, I appreciate the magic at work here. However, I do not want to lick this thing.

Tara / Journey:

Don't blame you.

Tim / GM:

It is covered in the hair and the crumbs of a man. I placed no price on this object. I apologize.

John / Doran:

That's okay.

Tim / GM:

That's okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Hear that boy. It's priceless.

John / Doran:

Owly, turns out you're still with us. Thanks for all the rock candy.

Tim / GM:

It, like, tries to give you a salute with its wing and breaks off a huge feather and turns back into a statue. Okay. I put

John / Doran:

it back into my satchel. Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

We're gonna talk about that later.

Thomas / Guy:

I'll be honest. I totally forgot about Outlay.

Tim / GM:

Any other purchases here?

John / Doran:

How much is the diamond? How much is the diamond?

Tim / GM:

Worth a 1,000 gold.

John / Doran:

Yeah. A 1,000. Yep. Right. I'll put that up.

Tara / Journey:

Journey has presumably run out of time on her disguised self.

Tim / GM:

You start to feel your disguised self melting away in a sort of, like, horrific fashion. Your tabaxi tail is just kind of receding back into you, and you can feel it happening. And so you keep kind of, like, turning around to hide it as it's happening. Yeah. Your your fur is, like, sucking back in.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah. As it starts to fade and I realize it's kind of inevitable, I just go ahead and drop it. And I, yeah, I wave at Bobka, and sorry for the confusion. I was just trying to go about unnoticed. Not the typical, being that you see out here in the sky lands.

Tara / Journey:

I know.

Tim / GM:

Oh, wow. You you you weren't as you appeared to be. Incredible. How could I have known? And, he very briefly lifts up his eye patch, and he gives you a wink with a green glowing eye.

Tara / Journey:

Oh, I see. I see. Well, better to be honest about it anyway. I have this mace that goes with the the necklace.

Tim / GM:

Oh, ah, yes. From the same, assassination, I would assume.

John / Doran:

It's unclear how the wonderful clair died upon Yes.

Tara / Journey:

A body.

Tim / GM:

Not my place to judge, only to appraise.

Tara / Journey:

Well, here, if you wanna take a look at this.

Tim / GM:

Mhmm. Lethal and beautiful, He says, staring at Poppy.

Hannah / Eryn:

What? Wait. What? He

Tim / GM:

he says, for this, combination of such power, 400 gold pieces.

Tara / Journey:

Could I, Journey does a little, like, nod at Doran, getting some confidence.

John / Doran:

Doran, gives, like, an enthusiastic nod.

Tara / Journey:

What if I traded it for 2 things? Could I trade it for that that ram ring and maybe the this vine over here? And Journey's been kind of, like, caressing this this vine and, like, twirling her fingers through it. Reminds me of home.

Tim / GM:

I sympathize with your case. However, I do need to make a little more value from these items. Is there anything else you have that you could offer?

Tara / Journey:

What if I mean, I I have some gold that I can supplement the trade with.

Hannah / Eryn:

I have a cookie shop. Do you like cookies? You could you would be, like, a free lifetime customer.

Tim / GM:

This is for something. Yes.

Hannah / Eryn:

I just don't currently have my shop.

Tim / GM:

This is worth nothing.

Hannah / Eryn:

But the plan is to get it, and then I'll be in the gardens.

Tim / GM:

I understand. How long would it take me to consume a 150 gold worth of product?

Hannah / Eryn:

Well, how much room do you have for cookies?

Tim / GM:

He looks up at the garden on his left, looks up at the garden on his right, and he says, we have room.

Tara / Journey:

There's stuff that gets sent from Skyland to Skyland, right?

Tim / GM:

Indeed. On the ships?

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, yeah. I can make sure to send you out a shipment.

Tara / Journey:

Rat, what if you just always send cookies here to you?

Tim / GM:

Very well. Two conditions. 1, I am a free lifetime customer as are my compatriots. He gestures up at the guards next to him. 2, you are to send me a full day's worth of product, All to myself.

Tim / GM:

You will take a loss on this day.

Hannah / Eryn:

That's totally fine. Also, how would I do you one better? I will create a recipe in your name. I'll call it, like, a bob coverall or something.

John / Doran:

Or something. Beautiful.

Tim / GM:

He gets a big grin. Looks up at Doren and Guy and the rest of your party. You are not very good at bargaining, but I agree.

Hannah / Eryn:

This is not news.

Tim / GM:

This is the deal. Yes. Agreed. Take your things. The vine, the ring of the ram.

Tim / GM:

They're yours. Instead of handing you the vine journey, he holds onto it and he has the vine grow rapidly. Over the course of 12 seconds or so, it grows 20 feet out to kind of wrap around you. And I says, they're yours.

Tara / Journey:

I do a full Catwoman.

John / Doran:

And, babka, I know it's getting late. How much for the, helm for my father and, this other ring you happen to have here?

Tim / GM:

This is the singing blingering of spell storing.

John / Doran:

Rhymes wonderfully. Yes.

Tim / GM:

Stores magic that can be used by anyone else. It's good to be a friend of a wizard. However, the activation word must be sung in all cases. Understood. And the helm, it's a helm of telepathy.

Tim / GM:

What more can I say?

John / Doran:

Yes. For these 2 items.

Tim / GM:

A deal. You've been so kind to me so far with your purchases and your lop sided bargaining. 700 total.

John / Doran:

That's very generous of you, Babka.

Tim / GM:

I keep flip flopping between the most interesting man in the world and Dracula.

Tara / Journey:

Dracula. Both good choices.

John / Doran:

Do you happen to have a change for, one fancy diamond? I hold up the diamond. Interesting.

Tim / GM:

How about I throw in this cloak of, wow that's a lot of ropes.

John / Doran:

I've wanted that the whole time.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, how many? He he

Tim / GM:

looks down at the cloak. Too many. He, like, folds and rolls the cloak up, and he hands it to you, like, very gingerly, and he says, please take this away from me before opening it. When you open this cloak, and he kind of, like, gestures, like, you know, opening, like, wanna buy a watch? Kind of, like, opening.

Tim / GM:

When you do that, when you open the cloak fully out to both sides, ropes will just spring forward from it and, entangle a target in front of you. That's amazing.

Thomas / Guy:

I think this would look quite stylish on me.

John / Doran:

Be careful with it, father. Yes. We will take this deal, Babka.

Thomas / Guy:

I have one more thing that might sweeten the pot. In order to attune to this helm, I must, I'm afraid, give up this flaming stick.

John / Doran:

That's your favorite flaming stick, father.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. A hot rod? Yes. I used it once, and when you touch it, it burns you. So that's gotta be worth something.

Tim / GM:

It's, painful to wield. Poorly made.

Thomas / Guy:

Yes. Yes.

Tim / GM:

They crumble when you use all the charges. So not a long lasting item anyway.

Thomas / Guy:

I suppose not.

Tim / GM:

I could give you 50 gold for it.

Thomas / Guy:

Is that good, son?

John / Doran:

Can I have it for my birthday, father?

Tim / GM:

Hell of a birthday.

Thomas / Guy:

Sure. Yeah. Just wear a glove or something until you're tuned to it. Yes. Happy birthday.

Tara / Journey:

Happy birthday.

Thomas / Guy:

It's like

John / Doran:

a candle that never goes out.

Hannah / Eryn:

What else was there?

Tim / GM:

I think you guys bought fucking everything. There

Thomas / Guy:

was great buzz clay.

Tim / GM:

The Gus Buster Bellas and the clay are the only things you didn't take.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. I was curious about the clay, but I don't know what I would use it for. But it's only 25 gold. Yeah. We can just throw this on on the pile.

Tim / GM:

The the clay? Yeah. Very well. Do you know how to use it?

Hannah / Eryn:

No.

Tim / GM:

You simply shape the clay into an object that you have. You press them together momentarily after the sculpture is finished, and they are twinned. The sculpture will always know how to find the original. Please don't use this to track down people and kill them.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, that's not really my, area.

Tim / GM:

Oh, I wasn't worried about you, says looking up at Aaron.

Hannah / Eryn:

How much is it?

Tim / GM:

25 gold, a rather common substance here in vaccine.

Hannah / Eryn:

I can do that myself, and I hand over 25 gold.

Tim / GM:

I've got practically nothing left to sell, so I'm going to call it a day.

Hannah / Eryn:

Thank

Tim / GM:

you all for your patronage.

Thomas / Guy:

Thank you, Babka.

Hannah / Eryn:

Thank you. Thank you so much.

Tim / GM:

And I think that's where we'll end it. Thanks so much for listening. I'm Tim, your GM.

Thomas / Guy:

John / Doran:
