Join hosts Julia and Kieran as they address the myths and stereotypes surrounding the campus community.
“That’s What They Said” is a space where we pull back the curtain on the college experience — the myths, the stereotypes and the late-night thoughts nobody puts in the brochure.
No topic is off-limits! We’re talking about everything — from expectations vs. reality, to campus culture, academics, friendships and the messy in-betweens. If it’s part of student life, we’re navigating it together.
"That's What They Said" is a podcast produced by WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2 at NC State University.
00:03
Julia
Hey, Kieran , what's up?
00:04
Kieran
Julia, did you hear what they said?
00:07
Julia
No, what did they say?
00:08
Kieran
Oh, my gosh. I have to tell you right now. Meet me in the studio in five minutes.
00:12
Julia
Okay, I'm on my way. I'll see you soon.
00:17
Kieran
Welcome back to That's What They Said, an educationally conversational podcast where we address all the things that aren't in the college brochure.
00:24
Julia
Episode two, Episode two of season two. Omg.
00:27
Kieran
I am like just now realizing that in the episode that dropped when we're filming this, which is on F dog, we don't address that it's season two.
00:34
Julia
Because we didn't know it was gonna be season two until after we filmed and submitted that episode. So.
00:39
Kieran
Whoops, it is.
00:40
Julia
But wait, guys, in T minus seven, slash eight minutes. How about seven and a half minutes? Episode one of season two is coming out and we rebranded. So the new intro is on there and new outro and new album cover, which we did a photo shoot for this weekend. And it was fire. So let us know what you think. I think the colors are slay.
01:05
Kieran
I think I saw it on. It's on Spotify already.
01:07
Julia
Oh, my God.
01:07
Kieran
I saw this morning.
01:08
Julia
I have. Wait, okay, hold on.
01:09
Kieran
Because I was. I was getting ready to get some music going while I was straightening my hair this morning to pretend that I was away naturally. And look. What? But what is that? But that's what they said.
01:19
Julia
I am upset. Oh, my God, it looks so good.
01:21
Kieran
It looks so good.
01:23
Julia
It's pink. Like, oh my God, they made it.
01:25
Kieran
Oh my God, they did make it pink.
01:27
Julia
Guys, you don't understand. Pink is like my girl. Like, that is my girl. And this is just.
01:31
Kieran
And that makes sense for you.
01:33
Julia
Thank you. Wait, I am it.
01:36
Kieran
Look, he looks like we're have to do some social media posts at this. But it looks so good.
01:39
Julia
It does. Oh my God. Oh my God. Okay, wait, but the question I had that I was going to ask.
01:44
Kieran
Yeah.
01:45
Julia
What music do you listen to when you get ready? Like in the. Because when I wake up in the morning after I rot for like 30 minutes, I turn on music, like while I'm still in my bed to like force me to get up. So what kind of music do you like, listen to?
01:58
Kieran
I usually. Okay, so I used to be a big rotter. I used to spend like get up 30 minutes in bed and then like, then would start my day. But recently I've been prioritizing my sleep over the 30 minutes in bed. So I'm like, I've like Made a deal with myself. I'm like, you can sleep those 30 minutes, but then you have to get up. Like, you can't sit in bed.
02:13
Julia
Yeah.
02:13
Kieran
So I have to go for something like hype. So recently I've been listening to Me when I forget what it's called. And I played it this morning. The escapism, you know, like, the song was like, I found myself in a position.
02:28
Julia
The man that I loved running around.
02:29
Kieran
Last night, and he told me that it's over. Dumb decision. Maybe I don't want to feel like I did last night. That one.
02:37
Julia
I don't know.
02:38
Kieran
My voice is, like, not really here yet, so please ignore all of that. Hey, guys.
02:43
Julia
That's when we do a podcast and say, just ignore our voices.
02:46
Kieran
Yeah, maybe if you just don't listen, that'd be great.
02:48
Julia
Yeah.
02:48
Kieran
Anyhow, it's like the radio for it, and so it's just a lot of, like, a beat. But I also have been listening to the Night is Still Young by Nicki Minaj. That radio canceled. Yeah. But I'm considering that everything before that is still acceptable.
03:04
Julia
No, I agree. I agree.
03:05
Kieran
It's just the new stuff I'm boycotting. Yeah, but that has songs like Maneater, Rock that Body, Bad at Love.
03:11
Julia
Okay.
03:12
Kieran
Never been like, you okay. Like, that kind of vibe. Like, I need to be up and moving in the a.m. or sometimes I'll go for indie. If it's just like, a little cool, thundering morning, like.
03:24
Julia
Yeah. A little gloom.
03:25
Kieran
A little gloom. Then I hit the indie. Like, I'm going back to 5:05. Like, you know.
03:32
Julia
Yeah.
03:33
Kieran
What about you?
03:35
Julia
Well, recently, actually. That's a lie, actually.
03:39
Kieran
At one point between now and then.
03:41
Julia
No, no. I mean, like, it's not even recently. It's just, like. Like, all the time. I.
03:45
Kieran
So recent.
03:46
Julia
Well, yeah, I guess so recent. And historically, I like to listen to podcasts when I wake up.
03:52
Kieran
Yeah.
03:53
Julia
I like to feel like I'm like. Because I live alone, so I like to feel like I have, like, a little something. A little something? Little friend, you know, hanging out with. No, because. Okay, hold on. Caveat. I.
04:04
Kieran
Sure.
04:05
Julia
You know that wooden lobster that I got for Christmas?
04:07
Kieran
Yes, the wooden. The wooden guy.
04:08
Julia
Yes. He. He is, like, I don't know, a foot and a half tall, and he sits on my windowsill. His name is Timothy, and I love him. Love.
04:17
Kieran
Shout out, Tim.
04:17
Julia
Tim. Shout out.
04:18
Kieran
That's Big T over there.
04:19
Julia
Big T. No. And yes. But okay, I. I have to speak my truth, and my truth is that I talk to him. Like, when I get, When I open my door to my room, I say, I'm back. Like, I'm home. Timothy, how are you? I'm not even joking. I. From the moment I step into my room to the moment I go to sleep, I'm talking to him.
04:39
Kieran
Well, but see, I don't even think people can judge you for that because they'd be doing that with their fish. And I see fishes have less personification to them than a wooden lobster.
04:46
Julia
I would have to agree.
04:47
Kieran
Like, I mess with fish. So heavy. But also, at the same time, somehow I feel like it's just as inanimate as a rock.
04:53
Julia
Like, yes, it's just because, you know, they forget it in two seconds. But, you know, one thing that I know for sure, Timothy is not forgetting.
04:59
Kieran
Oh, ears open 24 7, 365.
05:01
Julia
He doesn't have ears, but to your knowledge, his brain is open. Like, he is ready. He's received. Anyway, what was I talking about before.
05:07
Kieran
That music you listen to the morning?
05:08
Julia
Yes. I was in a podcast, and if it's Tuesday, I'm listening to Britney Broski's Broski Report. But I have recently gotten into Upstairs Neighbors.
05:16
Kieran
Okay. I. Who is that?
05:19
Julia
Instant podcast is these two girls who live in la. I am, like, obsessed with them. Like, you must listen.
05:27
Kieran
What's their, what's their thing?
05:29
Julia
It's like, they're like us, but they're allowed to curse and.
05:33
Kieran
Oh, they're like 25 years old. Yeah, okay.
05:36
Julia
And like, yes.
05:38
Kieran
No wonder you like them. It's us.
05:40
Julia
Well, it's like, they are us. They are us. But if were in LA and. Right. And we worked for ourselves, like, they're.
05:48
Kieran
Like, this is us announcing we're leaving. No, I'm kidding. We're moving to la.
05:52
Julia
We're going to la.
05:55
Kieran
Going in with the Los Angeles effects. You, like, see our faces for the first time on the pod. It's like us with Botox. All of a sudden, we're like, we're mogging the entire time upon, like, hey, guys. Like, how annoying would that be if we did that for an hour?
06:12
Julia
I actually.
06:13
Kieran
Okay, hot take. Very controversial being on my own podcast. I don't listen to podcasts.
06:18
Julia
Hey. And I, I don't understand that, but I, I, I accept.
06:25
Kieran
Never been one to listen to a podcast. And then I started making one.
06:28
Julia
Yeah.
06:29
Kieran
Not really sure where that came about. I feel like one of those, like, Utah moms in 2020 who decided that, like, she needed to pass time, so she built a podcast studio in her.
06:35
Julia
Basement.
06:38
Kieran
The way that I can't even myself sometimes. But I never listened to podcasts because my problem was that I had to. Like, with music. I listened to it, but also, like, I'm tuning it out half the time. Like, I'm not actually listening to. I'm just listening to, like, the chorus while I'm doing other things. Whereas podcasts, I feel like I need to actually listen to it to be, like, relevant to the whatever. Because the music I listen to 9.5 times out of 10, it's like a playlist that I've listened to, like, a bajillion times over, so I know all the songs on it. Like, whereas a podcast, in theory, I'm not really listening to a same podcast episode I do, which is totally acceptable. But, like, in the journey where I would start my podcast listening, I wouldn't be and so well.
07:14
Julia
Which is like.
07:15
Kieran
Yeah, I know.
07:15
Julia
I get that. But I like the podcasts that I listen to. I do, like, tune them out sometimes. Like, that's not, like, upstairs neighbors. Like, it's just, like, fun conversation. Like, it's like, us. Like, I know if people are, like, listening to us, I'm sure they tune us out. Like, they don't listen to every word we say because we'd be talking a lot and we say a lot of bs, so it's like, us.
07:35
Kieran
No, no.
07:37
Julia
We haven't said anything educational in months.
07:40
Kieran
I disagree.
07:41
Julia
Okay.
07:41
Kieran
For our sake of the podcast continuation, we are really educational.
07:46
Julia
Thank you, guys. You're learning a lot. We are, like, experts.
07:49
Kieran
You're learning personality development.
07:51
Julia
No, this is true.
07:52
Kieran
You're learning healthy traits and habits. You're learning.
07:55
Julia
My hands look like this so yours can look like that. Like you. We're.
07:57
Kieran
We want so you could run.
07:59
Julia
And there you go. Love. Love. Okay, let's do.
08:04
Kieran
We've completed our missing.
08:05
Julia
Okay, bye, guys.
08:06
Kieran
Oh, my God, my roommates are texting. Turn the music down, please. Oh, my bad.
08:12
Julia
Okay. The amount of scam texts that I've gotten where it's like, okay, let me read this. Hello, this is Natalie Grace from the blah, blah hiring team. We have the perfect position for you, and it's like, work for one hour a week and make $8,000, and I'm like, girl, that'd be so fun. Hello. I. I'm not that desperate yet. Like, maybe I'm almost there, but not yet, you know? Like, at least, like, give me some props. Like, I'm not gonna respond at this moment. Yeah, no, I'll keep that.
08:38
Kieran
I keep getting the spam calls though, I get like at least 12 a day.
08:41
Julia
Oh.
08:41
Kieran
I don't be in my voicemail. I don't answer them. But like my voicemail box is up to over 200 because they have voicemails.
08:48
Julia
Hello.
08:48
Kieran
And I have over 250 spam voicemails in my inbox.
08:52
Julia
That is ludicrous. I. One thing about me is I go through my voicemails and keep like the ones that I find interesting. Hold on, let me see what we have in here because there are some good ones. There's.
09:02
Kieran
While you look, I'll give my high low buffalo.
09:03
Julia
Okay.
09:04
Kieran
My low. Is that low key? It's FDOC , lowkey. It is FDOC.
09:09
Julia
It is in fact FDOC.
09:10
Kieran
What is the whole thing now? Locatinuanly lowkirkenuinley.
09:14
Julia
I don't even know what that means.
09:16
Kieran
That's just how I feel when I say that. Lok. Lokheny. I actually refuse to give it to Lokenuinally. lowkey. It is FDOC when we're filming this. And I have mixed feelings about FDOC. I would like to believe that I'm excited for this new semester, but honestly, I'm terrified.
09:32
Julia
No. After freaking syllabus emails this morning, I let me tell you, my heartbeat sped up like exponentially.
09:40
Kieran
Let's see. My heartbeat is actually doing just fine right now. I was going to make a dramatic point, but I. I can't. So actually I'm so actually I just lie. No, I. I'm really nervous for this semester. It's supposed to be really busy and there's just a lot of things happening and they're all good. Like it's all good things. It's just a lot of them. Like, yes, today is very busy for me. I'm consistently somewhere from 8:30 this morning until 5:00pm yeah.
10:02
Julia
Tonight, 9 to 5, where come to my 5 to 9 for my 9 to 5 lowkey.
10:09
Kieran
I'll be watching those. Can you.
10:11
Julia
I do too. And I'm like, that's going to be me. And that's not me.
10:14
Kieran
I mean, that's me. I'm actually currently in the process of filming my. Come with me for FDOC.
10:18
Julia
Is that podcast?
10:19
Kieran
Yeah, it is.
10:20
Julia
Okay.
10:20
Kieran
It's not for my own personal benefit.
10:22
Julia
When you said that, I was like, okay.
10:24
Kieran
No, for the podcast, we talked about increasing our social media presence and making reels. So I said, I'll make a reel. I love that.
10:29
Julia
No, I'll make a reel today too.
10:31
Kieran
Thank you.
10:31
Julia
But I'll post it tomorrow.
10:32
Kieran
Well, mine was to be posted tomorrow.
10:34
Julia
Oh, so yeah, I'll post something today. I'll go in with something today. I'm going in with the new post today.
10:42
Kieran
New post. New year. Well, we'll probably have to post something for the pod anyhow. That is so besides the point, my love, is that I. That sounds so mean, saying low. But my low is FDOC. I just don't. I just don't.
10:55
Julia
That resonates.
10:55
Kieran
The first week is always the most. Really stressful for me, and I'm always overwhelmed. And within, like, a month, I'm gonna be so fine. Like, it's gonna be okay.
11:01
Julia
You just gotta get into the schedule.
11:02
Kieran
I just have to get into it. But that also just requires me, like, getting into it. And so that's just, you know, it's a thing.
11:08
Julia
Because there's always that fear of, like, I'm gonna miss an assignment or I'm gonna miss something or, like, I don't know. There's no way I can remember all this.
11:13
Kieran
Trying to build a routine at the same time that you're supposed to be acting like you're already in the routine is really difficult.
11:18
Julia
Stink in a bad way.
11:19
Kieran
Yes. Stink in a bad way. My buffalo is that I did walk to the wrong car today. Even though I parked my parking spot, like, in front of my apartment, dead in front of the stairs. Like, I. All I had to do was walk straight, and I walked to the car next to it thinking it was mine. And I'm, like, sitting there trying to unlock it, and I'm like, where is the sticker on the front from? Like, I don't have bags in the back. And then I look over and I'm like, oh, hey.
11:42
Julia
Awkward. Okay.
11:45
Kieran
So that. That humbled me this morning. I was like, I've got to go. Like, I'm done. I walked out of my apartment. That's it for today.
11:51
Julia
Yeah.
11:52
Kieran
My high. My high. Hey, my high is that I'm getting breakfast today with Allie, which is our GM from last year. Yes, she did the study. Not the study abroad program.
12:06
Julia
Ibdd.
12:07
Kieran
Ibbd. Thank you.
12:08
Julia
Ibdd.
12:10
Kieran
Abcd. Abc. Like, she is. Did the IBD program. So you study at State for two years and then you go live in another country for two years? Yeah, for whatever, like, major concentration you have. And so she's finance, so she's in Italy. So she's been gone in Italy since, like, May of last year or something. Like. Or she actually had an internship of the summer, and then she left in, like, July or something, but we didn't see her. So I haven't seen her in almost a year now, and she's back because they're on break. And so me and her getting coffee.
12:38
Julia
At dinner on the 22nd. We are. Let me actually put that in the calendar because it's not in there. And I will forget that.
12:44
Kieran
I had to convince Abbi to come.
12:46
Julia
Who?
12:46
Kieran
Our advisor.
12:47
Julia
Oh, my God. She wasn't gonna come?
12:48
Kieran
No, she wanted to, but she didn't think we wanted her there.
12:50
Julia
Girl, I would hang out with her socially any day.
12:53
Kieran
Any day of the week. I love Abi so much. I hope that we're actually friends after we graduate and, like.
12:57
Julia
Well, I feel like we're actually friends now. If she's scared and thinks that we aren't. But I can tell you right now, we are friends.
13:02
Kieran
No, me and Abi, like, go way back. As in, like, 365 days, but, like, we go way back. She's like my older sister. I love her so much. She's our boss, by the way, so maybe I shouldn't say that, but, like.
13:12
Julia
No, that's fine.
13:12
Kieran
On a super professional level, that has never crossed a boundary once. I love Abby more than life itself.
13:16
Julia
I agree.
13:17
Kieran
But, yeah, we're getting. We're also getting dinner with her in a couple of weeks, but that does not correlate today. But today I'm getting biscuits and coffee with her. Of those. We're going to Jubala. Oh, I was listening to our first episode, and we literally talk about Jubala and how delicious the biscuits are. Like, in the first 10 minutes of the first. They're so buss, though, because I said it before. I'll say it again. Jubala, hit us up. We are there tomorrow. We are there today. We are there in 10 minutes.
13:37
Julia
Locally, we're there.
13:39
Kieran
I'm done. My low. Is that locally exists Real. Anyways, so that's mine. Did you find your voicemails?
13:46
Julia
Oh, yeah. I have a lot of voicemails from my grandma, from my Aunt Ness, shout out girl for my cousin. I have one from an ex Boyfriend. Sure. And some from Frank. I think it's just him saying, pick up the freaking phone. I just listen to them for fun.
14:04
Kieran
Yeah.
14:05
Julia
I think they're funny. Anyway, I'll do my high low. Buffalo. Thank you. My buffalo. Got to start with it. I walking here, saw this young gentleman wearing a hat.
14:18
Kieran
Sure.
14:19
Julia
And let me start off by saying, I am also wearing a hat today for the first time in a while. And I texted Kieran. I was like, I feel like everybody can tell that I never wear a hat. And so they're gonna. They're, like, looking at me. They're like, oh, my God, she never wears a hat. Like, she looks so stupid. Like. Like she's wearing a hat and looks.
14:33
Kieran
Dumb, but with the headphones now, too. You are giving, like, 2012, like, meet me in the basement because I'm recording some epic remix for the frat party this weekend. No, because, like, I would gather around you to be like, no, you know who it's giving? Becca from Pitch Perfect.
14:48
Julia
When she's, like.
14:49
Kieran
When she's, like, in the courtyard like, I'm bulletproof. And then it, like, gets like, I work, like, you know what I'm saying? I'm bulletproof. You know what I'm saying? Or she's like, guys, I actually do this in my free time. And she hits it. It's like. And it, like. You know what I'm saying? It's like, all the hits of 2012.
15:05
Julia
Me editing that podcast with, like, all the, like, sound clips and stuff. I got to sound up with the.
15:10
Kieran
One notch I just turned volume up. Yes. I'm like, julia will edit the podcast while we usually go to work after this for a media consulting job. And so she'll edit it, but, like, with the computer so everybody can hear it us. And Drew will sit there, like, just laughing at us and listening to the pod.
15:26
Julia
It's fun.
15:27
Kieran
It's really funny. Anyway, yes.
15:29
Julia
He was wearing a hat, and it was like. It was like a. Like, you know the hats that have the big pom on top? It was like that style hats. Yeah, it was a beanie, but the pom was the size of, like, a craft pom.
15:39
Kieran
It was like. It was like an earth. Like a ping pong ball. Yes. I was like, what are you doing?
15:44
Julia
And, like, I could. I couldn't tell if he was wearing it in, like, an ironic way or, like, an unironic way.
15:48
Kieran
Right.
15:49
Julia
I'm leaning more towards unironic, which makes it, like, even funnier. That makes it significantly better, but also so adorable. I just kind of wanted to go up and be like, this is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life.
16:00
Kieran
I want to be you when I grow up.
16:01
Julia
I want to take you and put you in my pocket. You are so adorable. You're just a little guy.
16:06
Kieran
Which I think would be really comforting for a stranger to hear at 8 in the morning.
16:09
Julia
No. Right. Okay. But if a baddie like me walked up to you and said, hey, you're adorable, I want to put you in My pocket and keep you forever would be like, no, I would never forget that.
16:19
Kieran
I would frame it.
16:19
Julia
Like, frame the memory. I'm like, frame the moment.
16:21
Kieran
Yeah.
16:21
Julia
Core memory.
16:22
Kieran
No, I'm taking a photo with you. Like, where did I meet up?
16:24
Julia
Like, like, and you're getting in my pocket.
16:26
Kieran
Oh, yeah, I'm. I'm travel. Like, I move. I'm portable. Yeah, that's one of my favorite things to say, like, when I want to go, like, do something. And they're like, guys, we should, like, go to this. Like, go to whatever today. I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I'm so down. Like, I'm literally portable. Let's go.
16:37
Julia
Like, I'm like, wait, this is reminding me. And I know that maybe this is not a safe space to talk about this, but I. Probably not. Probably not. This is not a safe date. I got the apps back. You did? Literally the day after. I was like, you have to keep me accountable. Like, do not let me get these back until, like, February. It's the 12th of January.
16:57
Kieran
Literally. Days later, she sends me a screenshot of something. And I was like, hey, so that's.
17:00
Julia
An app because I came across my ex boyfriend and my ex roommate on there. And I said, oh.
17:04
Kieran
And I said, so that's an app that you're sending me a screenshot of? She said, right. So that's not the point of why I texted you.
17:09
Julia
I was like, anyway. But what I was going to say is my go to, like, line these days to weed out who can like, actually get my humor and understand me and, like, match me, is can I please turn you into a hamster and put you in a habitat and keep you on my desk forever?
17:28
Kieran
Oh.
17:28
Julia
Yep. And let me tell you, either it doesn't get a response, which is like, okay, then I don't want you or the people that respond are my dream soulmate. You know what I'm saying? Like, you get. Because, like, you don't understand. Like, I want you to be a hamster and my desk. Like, I. Yeah, like, I don't understand why you would not want that.
17:47
Kieran
Like, I. I really resonate with that. However, I can't even lie if somebody who I had never met starts with, can I make you a hamster and put you on my desk? I'd be like, like, are you going to taxidermy me? Like, like would be my initial. Like, hey. But also, like, knowing you. And like, I understand that's a huge compliment. But, like, as a stranger, I'd probably.
18:08
Julia
Be like no, but that's what I'm saying. Like some people don't get it and if you don't get it then I don't want you.
18:13
Kieran
Yeah.
18:13
Julia
You know what I'm saying?
18:14
Kieran
This is a hamster friendly space.
18:15
Julia
This is.
18:16
Kieran
No you don't hamster. I don't want it.
18:17
Julia
Right.
18:18
Kieran
Live laugh hamster on my desk.
18:19
Julia
Live laugh hamster love. Anyway, so that was my ten minutes later. Okay. Anyway, my high is that I've been making Valentine's crafts to give out for Valentine's Day obviously. And so I've been making these cute little cards that I've been posting on my spam. I've been seeing guys send me your address if you want one because I'd be making a lot and I'm.
18:42
Kieran
I was only about to respond to you with my address and I was like let me not.
18:45
Julia
I, you know where I be. I, I do. But I made my own pompoms cuz I got, I thrifted some yarn the other day and I put googly eyes on them and then made little out of pipe cleaners and put like a little tiny pom as their tail and I'm calling them love bugs.
19:01
Kieran
That is so freaking cute. You should make little swirly like cheek blush out of the pipe cleaners.
19:09
Julia
They're so cute. I like they're so cute. And I have this like cute. I thrifted this little like tin box. I think it was like to hold chocolates or something. But it's like really colorful on that side. Anyway, when you open it up it has all the car like all the things that I've finished in it. Like so it's like yeah like little trinkets and crafts and stuff so that when I need to have like when I need to give somebody something like a little kitchen, I have my box. Like it's filled with love bugs and like cards and like so freaking cute.
19:33
Kieran
Like I want one. I hope that my valentine includes a love bug.
19:37
Julia
Hey, maybe you'll get a love bug.
19:38
Kieran
Maybe you'll get a love bug.
19:40
Julia
Anyway, so that's my high. My low is I've been having some whack dreams lately.
19:47
Kieran
Same.
19:48
Julia
And I Woke up at 6:30 this morning after having a dream and I couldn't go back to sleep. So yeah, I like I'm actually it's because as soon as I step foot on campus or even like I'm within like 30 minutes of my home on campus like I start having my stress Dreams again. You know what I mean? Yeah.
20:06
Kieran
I had one last night, which.
20:07
Julia
Yeah. And I'm like, okay. So I love all the stuff that I do, and I understand that it's a lot.
20:13
Kieran
And it's also my choice.
20:14
Julia
Right? It's also my choice. It's also my choice. But what I'm saying is sleep is where I don't have to do anything. So why are we.
20:20
Kieran
Why am I working on things in my sleep?
20:23
Julia
Let me not clock it. Like, I can't clock in while I sleep. So I'm losing money and losing sleep.
20:28
Kieran
Like, as we, like. No, because I was literally falling asleep thinking about our hiring. Our hiring process that I need to, like.
20:34
Julia
Yeah.
20:34
Kieran
That we need to start working on.
20:35
Julia
Because.
20:36
Kieran
And I've been thinking about that for the past week, and I'm like, this is ridiculous. Like, we literally talking to some of our, like, bosses about it the other day, and they're like, we hadn't even, like, remotely considered that yet. I was like, I've been thinking about it for two months. Like, I don't know.
20:47
Julia
That's. I, like, have been thinking about. Because I volunteered to work on the. One of the new projects we're doing at work, and I need to write a contract.
20:55
Kieran
Yeah.
20:56
Julia
And I literally, in my dream last night was writing a contract, and I was like, oh, we gotta include that. Gotta include that. And it did give me some good ideas. So, like, thank you. But also, at the same time, let me rest. Let me. Because I'm not clocked in. Genuinely. I am working without getting paid, so let's not do that.
21:10
Kieran
Yeah.
21:11
Julia
You know.
21:11
Kieran
No, my dream last night, I think, you know how I was talking about, like, how I think dreams, like, mean something.
21:15
Julia
Yeah.
21:15
Kieran
I think my dream last night was that I was, like, really scared for my performance because I was back in band class and, like, my professor, or not my professor, my constructor, my conductor, my constructor, my teacher, even.
21:29
Julia
I build things right. Okay.
21:31
Kieran
Bob was, like, criticizing my performance because I, like, wasn't playing well. And then I, like, was just sitting there, just, like, staring because I was like, oh, my God. Like, I'm nothing. Like, I'm like, I'm bringing down the. Because I was, like, in the front of the whole entire class, like, playing, like, having a playing test or whatever that is.
21:47
Julia
So I was like, wait, I just thought of another buffalo that I was gonna say, but I had forgotten about it. Yeah. I went to my internship yesterday for the first time since last semester, and. And one of my kids was like. They were like, Talking about some tea. And I, like, walked up and I was like, hey, how y' all doing? We're talking about some tea. And I was like, oh, my God, guys, what is the tea? Like, tell me. They're sixth graders. And I was like, what is it? Like, what is the tea? And queen was like, well, I broke up with my boyfriend last summer, and he, like, texted me the other day and said he wants to get back with me and he's going to ask me on Monday.
22:21
Julia
And I was like, oh, my God, do you want to get back with him? And she's like, yeah. And I was like, well, why'd you break up? And she's like, I don't remember. Real as freak. You are so real. I don't remember.
22:32
Kieran
I want to be her when I grow up.
22:33
Julia
No, I know. And then, like, later at dinner, I was like, are you guys, like, excited for, like, the new semester to start? Like, are you guys excited to go to class tomorrow? They started last week, but I, you know, whatever. And. And she was like, yeah, I'm really excited. I was like, girl, I'm excited for you. Like, next Sunday, I am sat. Like, as soon as you get in, I need to know what happened. Like, are we back together? Like, is. Did he apologize? And like, I just like. But then also, I'm like, I am talking to a sixth grader about her boyfriend. And I, who am 20. I am 20, has less game than she does.
23:07
Kieran
Like, hello, my 14 year old brother started dating. And I was like, all right, let's take it out a notch.
23:13
Julia
Like, hey, let's calm down. Like, no need to rub it in my face. We get it.
23:16
Kieran
I'm a loser. Next question.
23:17
Julia
Right? Like, whatever. That one. Hey, but you know what? They don't have a podcast.
23:21
Kieran
They don't.
23:22
Julia
They don't have a global following. Yeah, how about that? How about that? Next.
23:27
Kieran
Wait, what's your high? You did two buffaloes.
23:30
Julia
My Valentine's. That was my high.
23:33
Kieran
Did you do a low? You didn't do a low.
23:35
Julia
Oh, my God. Did I not?
23:36
Kieran
No, you did two buffaloes and a high.
23:38
Julia
I thought my low was my stress dreams.
23:40
Kieran
Oh, I thought that was your buffalo.
23:42
Julia
No, my buffalo is the hat.
23:44
Kieran
Oh, I'm back with it now.
23:46
Julia
Okay, guys, so moving on to the main 23 minutes.
23:51
Kieran
Today we're talking about media consumption, and.
23:53
Julia
This is kind of all over the place, but I just came up with it, like, 20 minutes ago or 23 minutes ago, right before we started filming.
24:00
Kieran
So we're really put together. We Are.
24:02
Julia
Oh, no, right. This is. Well, this is like the, this is the system, guys. This is what we do every time.
24:07
Kieran
And you'll see it on the FDOC vlog that I put out tomorrow.
24:10
Julia
Oh yes. Along for the ride. Come with me to going in with.
24:16
Kieran
The FDOC vlog. I can't. The first thing we have is thrown tons of emails.
24:24
Julia
Now, I didn't know what throwing tons of emails was.
24:27
Kieran
Right. I did write that. So I was like talking about how I feel like during the semester I get hundreds of emails and most of them are about nothing of anything. Like in college, like in high school, I definitely got emails, but it was mainly just like my teachers being like, assignment due tomorrow.
24:43
Julia
Yeah.
24:43
Kieran
And that was it. Whereas like in college it was like my professors, each of them all like at this point, not five are emailing twice a week. And then also I get an email every single time someone posts on a discussion board.
24:54
Julia
Oh my God, that is so annoying. Because I never check in discussion board after I turn in because I, I. Right.
25:01
Kieran
My favorite is when seven people have to be like, same problem here. And then someone's like, same problem here. And they're like, me as well. I'm like, we got it the first time. When someone asks the question, they're gonna.
25:10
Julia
Respond like, if you don't read the.
25:11
Kieran
Freaking answer, like, oh my God. Anyhow, there's those. And then there's always like the seven different newsletters we're all automatically subscribed to. But then also somehow the New York Times has my information.
25:23
Julia
But also I feel like we can't complain about the newsletters because half of them come from student media where we work so well.
25:28
Kieran
Yeah.
25:29
Julia
So then it's like. But I also like, there's so many.
25:33
Kieran
There is. In general, there's just, there's always a ton of emails being thrown at you. And something has something with someone. Yeah. And what kind of sucks too is there's always something kind of important. At least one of them.
25:42
Julia
Right. So you have to look at all.
25:43
Kieran
To actually look at it every now and then. And so like sometimes I usually just like in the morning we'll go and I like clear them all out. But then sometimes I'm like, okay, wait, let me like actually read everything. But I feel like there's tons of media being thrown at me. Especially like on email, but then also on social media. And then also like on like my personal day to day life. But then also like on the TVs, but then also like everywhere I go there's some information about something, but there's also a different expectation of what that something is supposed to look like and. Or what you're supposed to be doing on every platform.
26:09
Julia
Well, let me tell you something I need to know. I feel like if, perhaps if I, if one of my roles was not to manage social media accounts and email a freak ton of people, then maybe I would be able to avoid the media that is constantly being thrown at me. But one thing that I have to do is email at least 15 people a day. And like, that is like, not even at work, like outside of work. To manage the different leadership roles that I have to email like 15 people, send multiple group messages, text all these people like, and I have to, like, I manage Instagram accounts and Facebook accounts and I manage my own LinkedIn. But you know, you gotta be on that grind.
26:54
Julia
So like, I, like my job and part of my responsibilities is media and like, marketing, I guess. But like, bro, I sometimes I just need to turn my phone on. Do not assert. But I can't because people like, need me at any time. Like, at any time. Like, I. Which I am like, honored to be the person that people reach out to.
27:18
Kieran
Like, but at the same time, plenty of us all need something for me tonight.
27:23
Julia
And like, when, like right now, my texts, I have a bunch of unread ones that are like, when are you free? How about dinner here? How about lunch then? Like, on Friday I've got like, coffee, lunch, gym, dinner. Like, wow, you know, like, but I, like, I'm happy that my friends and like, people in my life reach out to me to like, talk to me about things or like, work through something or like, can you help me with this? Or like, all that stuff. But bro, I. I'm sorry if I don't respond to you for days because I just can't. Like, I just. But I will. And I'm thinking about it. Like, it's ruminating in my head.
27:56
Kieran
It's just trying to find the space to put you.
27:57
Julia
Yes. And like, the Google Calendar is full already and I haven't even like gone to a class yet. So, like, let's just like, take a step back, you know, Because I have.
28:05
Kieran
Had people in the past be like, hey, like, we should get dinner. And I'm like, right. How do you feel about 5 to 6 on Wednesday? In two weeks?
28:11
Julia
Yes. And then I must leave out at 6. Like, I have to be somewhere at 6:05. Yeah.
28:16
Kieran
Like, it's just ridiculous. My problem isn't necessarily that because I don't have people reaching out to me. So feel free to hit me up sometime.
28:25
Julia
Well, I don't have any free time, so.
28:26
Kieran
Well, don't reach out to me then, Julia. But everybody else, please know that we.
28:29
Julia
Spend like every day together.
28:31
Kieran
No, I know. Well, that's why I'm not worried is like, I'm scheduled to see you every single day, right?
28:35
Julia
Like we have two jobs together and we gym together every day for about two hours and then we also.
28:40
Kieran
Have two classes together. So I will be seeing you every single day of the week. And I'm not complaining whatsoever.
28:46
Julia
And there you go.
28:47
Kieran
But everybody else in my life, please hit me up.
28:49
Julia
Please. Haha.
28:50
Kieran
Anyhow, my main media consumption problem is just like a lot of my stuff rolls into other things. So it's like you said, even when I'm not clocked in, I'm clocked in because like the stuff at work takes so much brain power and decision making and I'm working on it. Like, I'm working on applications for stuff and like making packages and stuff like that. And that's stuff that I have to be doing outside of my work time. But then also, like I'm doing work at work, but also having to think about making sure to plan for work at work. And then also we're scheduling things for our job here and then also for the contra stuff. I have to make sure I have things and the money and like the like, it's just like I'm constantly like something of something with someone about something. So.
29:27
Julia
Yeah, but also I feel like I like, also love being busy and like, I love when I know I wouldn't have it any other way. I love when I run into somebody that like, is in one of my clubs or something, or that like I do something with on campus and they're like, hey. And they ask me a question. I'm like, yeah, actually, let me check really quick. Like I like kind of love. Yeah, like, I love being the one that people are like, you know, like running into someone, they're like, oh, like, let me ask you later, have you talked to the, like, have you talked to this person? Like, have you got an email? Like, you know what, Let me send that email really quick. And I just sent an email. You know, I like love being that person.
29:56
Kieran
No, it's really empowering.
29:59
Julia
Like, guys, come on. And I love like recognizing people on campus that which comes from doing so many different things. Like, I love running into people. Like when I'm walking with like one of my friends and I run into a bunch of people while just walking across campus.
30:12
Kieran
It makes me feel like, Siri, I know them. I just need to go talk to them.
30:14
Julia
Real sorry. Like, I'm just like a famous podcaster on campus. You know how it is, you know?
30:20
Kieran
My gosh, I had to explain to my dad what tabling was yesterday.
30:22
Julia
I like to forget that's maybe not a term that people use off campus.
30:25
Kieran
No, there was a lot of things because he was like, looking through something for me and he was like, what is this? Or would put a question and I was like, no, this is a thing.
30:31
Julia
It is a thing.
30:32
Kieran
I'm not just making up words.
30:33
Julia
You don't get it.
30:34
Kieran
Anyhow, going. Going in after that is the. We have a professor who sent out an email about like 3 days ago to be like, welcome to spring semester. Tell me why. It was eight scrolls long and that also was color coded on every single word. And then also there was a bullet point within a bullet point. Talk about media consumption. I think I like expanded my vocabulary by seven different languages by the end of it.
30:56
Julia
And I, I like, I resonate with using different colors and bold and. But if every sentence, like, has something like that, then that takes away the importance of like, using bold and colors and stuff. Because, like, that's like, to draw your attention to specific phrases like it, like, it's not consumable to have that like everything be bold and. And underlined and different and like, hello.
31:18
Kieran
The only thing it's drawing my attention to is the close out button.
31:21
Julia
Yes. Real. I like, I read through that syllabus so long. It is so long. But I read through and put in every, like, assignment and exam into my Google calendar so I can share it.
31:31
Kieran
With you so you don't have to love.
31:33
Julia
But it was just like, what are we doing? But I get it because that class is biz law. So, like, the whole thing is contracts and freak. But like, it like, we don't have to make the syllabus the contract, buddy. We haven't gotten to the class.
31:48
Kieran
Every single person. I. Wow, that's the worst. I actually barely passed it. I'm like, you can't tell me that. I don't really have time.
31:53
Julia
Okay. I feel like in my heart that, like, stats was hard for me, but I feel like this won't be as.
32:01
Kieran
Hard as stats as long as one of us understands that we're fine. I think that's basically what happened to stats. As long as one of us understood it, yes, were fine.
32:08
Julia
I think we're chilling because I feel like I understand it. I. Like, this is, like, my strength. Like, this type of class is my strength. So never fear. I got.
32:15
Kieran
Julia is here.
32:16
Julia
I got. Never fear, Julia's here.
32:17
Kieran
Yeah.
32:18
Julia
I can't. Anyway. Yeah. Wow.
32:21
Kieran
Another thing we have is the influencer ego boost, again on a bullet point that I wrote. So it probably doesn't make much sense to others.
32:27
Julia
To others. Me. The only other document. Right. Right.
32:31
Kieran
Dash. Is everyone has the phase. They try to be the next Mr. Beast. Parentheses, we are in that phase right now.
32:35
Julia
I added the we are in the phase.
32:36
Kieran
Right. And that's really funny.
32:38
Julia
I.
32:39
Kieran
Especially in college, I feel like with all of the different, like, ambassador programs, everybody is the next Alex Earl.
32:44
Julia
Everybody is the next Mr. Beast.
32:46
Kieran
Everybody is wise. Len Key, We've dispersed your student loan.
32:51
Julia
Oh, thanks. Okay.
32:55
Kieran
Anyways. But anyway, everybody's trying to be the next everything, and it sucks because, like, Loki, so am I. But, like.
33:02
Julia
But it's okay when we do it. Yeah, no, but. Okay. What I put on here is like, well, what I had in my head when I wrote something else is like, every. I feel like the concept of, like, everybody's trying to be an influencer is. Is, like, annoying, kind of. And like, you're kind of like, when you see somebody else posting, you're like, oh, that's like, low key. Embarrassing. But then it's like. But when I do that, because I do that as part of one of my, like, some of my responsibilities. Like, I don't want people to think that I'm embarrassing, you know, But I think it's embarrassing when other people. But then it's like, people are like, all the people that have, like, blown up on Instagram, whatever, they're like, just stop being afraid. Just do it. Just do it.
33:40
Julia
But I feel like there's so many. So many influencers that just do it and, like, don't get any followers, and then they're just embarrassed. So it's like, you take the risk of being embarrassed to strike it big. But, like, I like.
33:51
Kieran
But also, what cost?
33:52
Julia
So what cost? Because, like, I don't want to be humiliated. But also, one thing about me is I do be posting a lot on my personal accounts anyway, so it's just.
34:00
Kieran
Like, gives into it.
34:01
Julia
Yeah. I think the only thing that is, like, an obstacle for me is posting reels.
34:07
Kieran
Yeah.
34:07
Julia
Because, like, hosting reels on your personal account is like, okay, that is a step towards you're trying to be an influencer, but, like, what if I just want to talk and I want people to listen?
34:16
Kieran
I think it helps that we are a podcast account. So in theory, all of our reels make sense because it's just a continuation of.
34:21
Julia
Right. That's what I'm holding. That's what I'm holding true in my heart.
34:23
Kieran
Yeah.
34:24
Julia
Like, let me make whatever real I want on our podcast listing account. And it's okay because we're podcasters. Yeah.
34:28
Kieran
And also we can be a little more just like, whatever they are.
34:30
Julia
Like, yeah.
34:30
Kieran
Like, we can talk about whatever. Like, were talking about this, me and Julia were the other day about, like, what we want the reels to be after. Julia was like, we should do reels. I was like, you might be onto something there. Wait.
34:40
Julia
Yeah.
34:40
Kieran
So it was just more like, it's just whatever we want it to be. And so it's like, hopefully it's a little bit more of a segue into us hitting it big, but it's like, because we're getting paid to do it. Lol. Living large out here.
34:52
Julia
Yes.
34:53
Kieran
Loophole Scamming the system.
34:55
Julia
Like, we scroll on reels and get paid.
34:59
Kieran
The things where it's like, I got paid 800 to scroll for five hours.
35:03
Julia
Like, girl, I do that for free.
35:05
Kieran
Like, what I do. But also sign me up.
35:07
Julia
Question mark, question mark, silly. Okay, wait, what else do we have? Oh, I put types of people we see on socials because I find this fascinating. Okay, here's the ones that I just wrote down really quick. So there are the people that you meet in the bathroom at parties. Do you know that frat party that went to last semester? We met those girls and we exchanged.
35:27
Kieran
For our social media.
35:28
Julia
Could not. Could not tell you who they are. Like, if I went through my following. Could not tell you.
35:33
Kieran
Yeah. They probably unfollowed me at this point.
35:35
Julia
I like to think that they didn't. Like, I feel like there's some sort of, like, social contract of when you meet a girl in a bathroom at a party, you're, like, locked in. You know what I'm saying?
35:44
Kieran
Speaking of people that follow each other on Instagram, I got followed by a comedian. I went to a comedy show, and the. I went to a comedy show, and the comedian followed me on Instagram.
35:53
Julia
Yeah.
35:53
Kieran
And reposted my story and.
35:55
Julia
Yeah.
35:56
Kieran
So basically, I am gonna be big.
35:58
Julia
You are Mr. Beast.
35:59
Kieran
Y' all are not ready for this. Like, you are silly, apparently, because they followed me. Oh, my God. Anyhow, who Else.
36:08
Julia
Do you see people from classes that you end up dropping after a week? I've met people, like, in classes, the girlies that are, like, trying to be, like, proactive and, like, take initiative. Like, you sit next to them on the first day and they're like, hey, like, what's your, like, social. We should like, start like a study group. And you're like, yes. And then you, like, as soon as you get out of class, you drop class.
36:24
Kieran
Yeah.
36:24
Julia
Like, and then you, like, feel like, low key, a little bit bad, but then it's like, eh, whatever. You know, a follow is follow. Then there's people from classes that you were still enrolled in but never went to. That occurred to me last semester in my. What class was that? Supply chain and operations. Yeah, my queens that I sat next to for the first, like, few weeks. We, like, we're like, we're gonna keep each other accountable. Like, come to class, you know, whatever. And then we follow each other on Instagram, exchanged numbers, whatever. And then we, like, slowly started not coming to class. And then I would text them and be like, hey, like, we should study instead of going to class. And then suddenly we stopped studying too, together.
37:01
Julia
Like, I never saw them again, but they'd be commenting on my post and I'm like, you know what? Yeah, you know what?
37:06
Kieran
Yeah, good enough for me.
37:07
Julia
And one of them just got a boyfriend and she's been posting him so much, and I'm actually low key. I like, you know, it's like being stabbed in the heart. But also, I'm really happy for her, you know, because they're like, really cute and she's really sweet, so. And then you have the mutual friends of mutual friends. Yeah, I. I went contra dancing on Saturday night. And while I was there, it's like in harbor, which is why Chapel Hill. And while I was there, I was dancing and I come across this young gentleman who I'm like, I think I follow you on Instagram. So we're in the middle of, like, dancing. Like, he's doing, like, whatever. And I'm like, I follow you on Instagram. And then he was like, what? And I was like, I follow you on Instagram. He was like.
37:44
Julia
And like, we kept dancing. Then we ran into each other later in another dance. He was like, I do know you. Like, I do follow you. And I was like, wait, okay. I could not tell you his name, but I. I know I have seen him on my feed before.
37:55
Kieran
No, because the way that I network at social events is ridiculous. And it's like. But Never social events. Like, like professionally or like, at like, something for work. It's. Which is also professionally, now that I think about it. It's always like, someone's birthday and I'm like, oh, my God, girl. Like, you're so funny. Like, we should exchange and stop yar Sunday. Like, I put in the work, put in the hours, taking what's hours. I freaking love saying that, by the way.
38:22
Julia
Yes, I know.
38:23
Kieran
Okay.
38:25
Julia
Yeah. Weekends out.
38:30
Kieran
So on that notes app. My first bullpen Julia. And I'm dropping out of the pod.
38:35
Julia
Oh, right. Season two, Episode two We're done.
38:38
Kieran
Oh, my gosh. Wait, hold on. Well, this is also a notes app, but this is like. Wait, I have 2.
38:42
Julia
Okay. 1.
38:44
Kieran
Speaking of, like, people in class, who we see and then whatever. I think I. I don't think I told this story on the podcast, but I think I've told you this story before, but stop me if I have. Well, don't because. But you know, right. Anyway, I'm so gone today, guys. Like, I got seven hours. I can't. There was this guy that I went to high school with.
39:03
Julia
Okay.
39:03
Kieran
Who was in my calc class.
39:05
Julia
Yes.
39:06
Kieran
Like a year ago or whatever. And in high school, he was like the kid. Like, he was so popular. He was on the football team. He was like six foot tall. Everybody wanted him because he, like, went to the gym. And he was like one of those, like 10 people who actually went at the age of 15.
39:18
Julia
I thought I knew who we're talking about. But then you said six foot tall.
39:20
Kieran
No, you don't know this person. But they were like all of the girls, like, all the popular girls dated him. Like, you know, but he's actually been with his girlfriend for like four years now, so. And she's a year older, so props dang. Anyhow, I'll give him that. Whatever. He was like, all the parties in high school. Whatever. He was in my calc class. And so he's like. He's also in a fraternity now. Shocker. And he was at the time. He was like a pledge then. And so I, like, saw him and I was like, that's kind of funny. Like, random that we're here, but he's in class. And tell me why he pulls out a spiral notebook, like a five subject spiral notes for this class. Colored pencils, colored pens and highlighters. Yeah. And he's like, color coding his calc notes.
40:04
Julia
And maybe I love him. Maybe I love him.
40:06
Kieran
I laughed out loud in my count class five rows behind him. Because the idea of this macho man who was all that in high school, having to highlight his calc notes. That's a diva with a pink highlighter and, like, a darker pink pen was sending me.
40:24
Julia
Yes, sending.
40:25
Kieran
I was laughing so hard.
40:27
Julia
Diva.
40:28
Kieran
So that really got me.
40:29
Julia
Wait, new. New term that I've come across. Divo.
40:33
Kieran
Divo. Is that like a male diva?
40:35
Julia
Male diva divo. Okay, He's a divo.
40:37
Kieran
He's a divo.
40:38
Julia
He's a divo.
40:39
Kieran
Wait, I'm kind of into it.
40:41
Julia
He's a devo. Also, a new phrase that I. I'm kind of loving is in a big way. Like, we're filming the podcast in a big way. Like, we're going to work in a big way. You know? Like, that just makes it more exciting. Like, let me add some whimsy to my life in a big way.
40:54
Kieran
That's how I say what I. Like. A couple of my. Actually, one of my friends, a lot of people, I have this one friend who, whenever we say, we always say, like, I love you before we, like, yeah, And a call or like, say goodbye and text, whatever. But we say, love you so big. Love you instead of, like, so much. It's so big.
41:10
Julia
Yes.
41:10
Kieran
And it'll be like, love you so big.
41:12
Julia
Love you.
41:12
Kieran
Love you so bigger.
41:13
Julia
Love it.
41:14
Kieran
Love it so big.
41:15
Julia
Love is a big.
41:16
Kieran
I love saying that.
41:18
Julia
Wait, can I say one more thing that I'm like, well, this is kind of a little bit of a notes app, I guess, since we're in that section. One of my, like, one of my New Year's resolutions is to give more notes to people and, like, give my crafts out. But one of my other New Year's resolutions is I, like, one thing about me is I use a lot of, like, endearing terms for people.
41:39
Kieran
You know, I would agree.
41:40
Julia
Like, I, like, I call people honey a lot and, you know. But I, like, hold myself back when I'm meeting new people because I'm like, oh. Like, I don't wanna.
41:49
Kieran
Like, let me not.
41:50
Julia
Let me not.
41:50
Kieran
Yeah.
41:51
Julia
But I think my truth is that I need to live my truth. And my truth is that I will call you a sweet pea and a sugar plum when I meet you, because you are like, if I got up to that man with the hat with the pom on it, I would say, hey, sweet pea, you are so adorable. Like, I love your hat. Like, let me live my truth. Like, that is what I need to do, because that is, like, who I am. Like, well.
42:12
Kieran
And honestly, it makes me feel like that's a bigger compliment than, I think, the compliment itself. Like, I love doing. I love when people say that to me. Like, I love saying to people. I had a phase where I called everybody babe.
42:20
Julia
Yeah.
42:20
Kieran
Which did run me into a couple issues.
42:22
Julia
No, that's a little scary when it's like a guy that has a girlfriend, you know?
42:25
Kieran
But yeah, I didn't use it with, like, I just use it with this like, straight guy friend that I had. And I was like, hey, babe. Like, what's up? And he was like, what did you just call.
42:32
Julia
They take it the wrong way.
42:33
Kieran
And I was like, okay. Like, let's not. Yeah, I've said it to everybody we've ever talked to in the same room with you. Like, we are aware that this is a thing I say.
42:39
Julia
Right?
42:40
Kieran
Next question. But I do love using, like.
42:45
Julia
Yeah, no. Well, I love it because, like, when I'm. I think it's. I love using out my friends that are like straight men. Because I'll be like, they'll like, hand me something. I'm like, thanks, honey. And they're like, I. I forget that, like, straight men don't get a lot of compliments.
42:58
Kieran
Yeah.
42:59
Julia
Because I like, I'm like, oh, I love you, sweet pea. And then they're like, what? Like, they're like faces, they turn all red and they get all, like, they get all giddy and I'm like, oh, my God, that is adorable. Like, let me love you. Let me love you. I like, I don't know. I just love. I just love you. Love, love. Like I. Guys, I love love. No, but like, genuinely, I love to love people.
43:22
Kieran
Yeah.
43:23
Julia
Like, let me love you. Let me give you a tiny craft. Let me call you a sweet pea and a sugar plum. And I'm happy.
43:27
Kieran
I think that's why we also get along so well, is we just love to compliment each other. You look so cute.
43:32
Julia
Wait.
43:35
Kieran
We're actually so loud. I just took my headphones.
43:36
Julia
Oh, my God. I. I'm. I'm scared.
43:41
Kieran
Well, what's funny is where we are filming this at like 8 in the morning. Well, we started well, so it is.
43:44
Julia
Going to be 9:30.
43:45
Kieran
Well, we started at 8:30, so. Or 8:45 or whatever. But we got here early. So, like, not even any of our bosses had clocked in yet. Like, our literal advisors who are paid employees. Like, yeah, we are here. And so, like, we, like, we did our opening shift. Stop. We did our opening shift. And so, like, we're watching our literal bosses who, like, Our full time employees who could easily get us fired. Like, walk in and just be like, what are they doing?
44:05
Julia
Hey, we're on the grind. Get us fired. No, we're here and we're the number one pod.
44:09
Kieran
Like, don't eat.
44:09
Julia
I've already worked over my hours for this job this week, and we just. It's Monday.
44:12
Kieran
Yeah, we're about to get in trouble. It's gonna be bad. Maybe we should talk to them about that.
44:18
Julia
Yeah.
44:19
Kieran
Constant feelings. Anyhow, anyway, my other notes app that I was gonna say, that's actually not on our list. I have so many for today.
44:24
Julia
Okay. I have another one that I really. I really need to have.
44:27
Kieran
You can go off me.
44:28
Julia
Okay. All right.
44:29
Kieran
You also go.
44:31
Julia
No, you guys. You guys listening?
44:32
Kieran
You go next.
44:33
Julia
You go next. We'll sit in silence and you go, yeah, perfect.
44:39
Kieran
We just add an extra 10 minutes of silence at the end for you guys to talk to yourself.
44:43
Julia
No, because this is a safe space.
44:44
Kieran
No, but it's just us, like, laughing every, like, minute and a half. We're like, no, you're so right, girl. No, I was about to say that. Oh, my God, you're on your something with that. We should talk more. Something that. Speaking of, like, when you're like, yeah, we know about, like, habits that I have that reminded me of this past weekend. I was with some of my really good friends, and I was at Chapel Hill, and so I was meeting one of my friends, new boyfriends. And you don't know them.
45:10
Julia
Oh, sorry. For some reason, I was like, I knew that Sarah was dating somebody. I was like, so it has to be Ian. And I was like, that can't be. That cannot be.
45:22
Kieran
My context. My context. Ian, my friend. There's multiple Ians that I'm friends with, by the way. So I just like to leave them all in mystery about which one I'm talking about. Yeah, it's just a very straight man.
45:32
Julia
Who is like, he's the straightest man I've ever met.
45:34
Kieran
Like, super, like, cars and like Star Wars. Oh, my God. The idea of him having a boyfriend.
45:41
Julia
I would love that. That would make me so happy.
45:44
Kieran
A lot of those. And yeah, so I. I was with one of my friend's new boyfriends, who is not Ian or Sarah, who's also in a happy relationship. Love was meeting their boyfriend. And they, throughout the night, kept being like, oh, my God, you know who Karen reminds me of? Like, to my face. And they'd be like, so and so. And they'd be like, oh, my God. Yes, And I was like, oh, my God. Which, like, I was like, I don't know who that is. Like, what does that mean?
46:05
Julia
Is that good?
46:06
Kieran
And they kept me on, like, you know who she also reminds me of? But they did, like, low key, get tipsy. And they were like, kieran, you're like the most hilarious person I've ever met.
46:12
Julia
And I was like, wait, okay, wait.
46:14
Kieran
But then I literally. Who is this person? Like, who are you telling me that? I'm like, and this is a good thing. Like, should I leave? Like, am I embarrassing myself? And like, no, like, we love her. Like, she's my best friend. And I'm like, okay. But then they would, like, pull other people. I was like, I don't know what any of this means.
46:28
Julia
Like, yeah.
46:29
Kieran
So that was just really getting me because I was like, when people like, yeah, we know. I'm like, oh, my God, you hate me. And then they're like, wow, you, like, you're like this person that we know. I'm like, I don't know what that means. I don't know. You want me to do that information. But okay.
46:39
Julia
Okay.
46:40
Kieran
Anyhow, I was just thinking about that. What did you feel so passionately about?
46:44
Julia
I have written down here pasta.
46:46
Kieran
Yeah.
46:47
Julia
Now, I sent a reel to someone yesterday, and it was a freak marry, kill situation. And it was three different types of pasta.
46:55
Kieran
I feel so passionate about pasta.
46:57
Julia
Okay.
46:57
Kieran
Oh, my gosh.
46:58
Julia
Okay. Okay, so. But sit with me here. They. They said which one they would marry, and it was panay. And I was like, okay, what would I be if I was pasta? The answer better be penne.
47:06
Kieran
First off, penne is sending me. It's penne. Penne, Penne.
47:11
Julia
Okay, whatever. Anyway, so. But then I was like, I don't think actually that I would be penne.
47:16
Kieran
As like, your marry. Or like, what you would be.
47:18
Julia
No, like what I like, realistically, give.
47:20
Kieran
Me, like, lasagna noodle.
47:22
Julia
Really? Yeah.
47:24
Kieran
Or hold on. Okay. I could, like, argue a lot of different shapes here.
47:28
Julia
Like, I could.
47:28
Kieran
Look, you give you farfalle, which I.
47:31
Julia
Was gonna say that's.
47:32
Kieran
I could also give you. I could give you lasagna noodle. Loki. And the reason I say lasagna. Let me clarify. Because that could be taken a lot of different ways. Is not because I think that you're large. Is because I think you're so big. You're not large. No, it's because that I think that you encompass so many things. And I think that, one, you're very versatile. And two, I think you Encompass a lot of basises, which is what a lasagna noodle does. Yeah, but I also think that you have a lot of funk to you, but not, like, in a gross way, but like, in a. Like.
47:57
Julia
Like a curve edge, specifically is like.
48:00
Kieran
That's what I was referring to, is the funk. Like you. But you're also such a classic. Like, you are something that everybody loves. Wait, you know, like, you are just so, like, my comfort food, my comfort home, my comfort space. Like, you are lasagna noodle. Because, like, I. Oh, yes. Somebody there. I will. I never have to be in the mood for lasagna to want lasagna. Wait. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, if anybody was ever like, we're having lasagna tonight, I would literally be. Oh, I would never know that I needed that until, like. Yes, but you're like, I will always love you, and I never have to think about loving you to know that I love you and appreciate you. Do you know what I'm saying?
48:32
Julia
I love you.
48:33
Kieran
So that's why I think you're lasagna noodle.
48:35
Julia
I like that.
48:35
Kieran
So. But I also could argue bow tie for a lot of the same reasons.
48:38
Julia
Yeah, no, I like the little bit of fun, a little bit of funk.
48:40
Kieran
But also, again, a classic everybody loves about. And everybody loves Julia. Like, I. What else could I argue that you are?
48:50
Julia
Wait, I just need to say one thing while we're talking about this. I just came to my mind. You said some word that reminded me. That picture that you took of me stretching. I. Do you know how badly I want to post that?
49:04
Kieran
I'm putting it on my spam.
49:05
Julia
It is.
49:06
Kieran
You look so bad. My body so tea. No. So there's this trend on Tick Tock right now. So I don't know if you've seen it, because it has.
49:14
Julia
I don't have.
49:14
Kieran
I don't know if it hits the reels yet, but it's supposed to be like, Rock Steady. You can see it from the back and it's like. But basically, it's like a picture of you, like, from the. Like, just you. And then on the. When you go to the next slide, it's like you looking so T. Or like, specifically in the curves of the lower half of your body. Yeah, that photo applies to that trend, guys. Because the way that I saw it, like a literal indenture, I was like, that's a piece of fruit.
49:38
Julia
Okay, wait, that. There. There's a picture of me from. I don't. We did Ocean Isle. My Friend group. And I did, like, last semester for I. Labor Day. I don't know, but it's like, I'm laying on my side on the beach, and I was. I didn't know this picture was being taken, but Frank is behind me, and he took a picture of me, like, laying on my side from the back. Why?
49:58
Kieran
She a baddie? She knows she a ten.
50:00
Julia
No, I don't think that my bottom half has ever looked that good. Like, I have got to show you that picture. I just, like, yes, genuinely. But I can't be posting that because it's, like, just my lower half and, like, that. Okay, so, like, that is way too much of a thirst trap, even for me. But, like, I just.
50:17
Kieran
I need it, though.
50:19
Julia
No, Right. I think, like, when I come across those pictures that I wasn't, like, they're, like, actually candid, but I look so t. I'm like, wait, guys.
50:26
Kieran
I'm a baddie.
50:27
Julia
Guys.
50:27
Kieran
Speaking of, one time, my apush teacher told me I had a gyatt.
50:30
Julia
Oh. He didn't really.
50:31
Kieran
He didn't know what I meant.
50:32
Julia
Oh.
50:32
Kieran
And so the entire class was like, hey, buddy. What?
50:34
Julia
Hey, buddy.
50:35
Kieran
I don't know if I. Again, I've shared this story on the pod or not, but I know that I've shared it with you. Well, there's gonna be a second story that goes into this.
50:41
Julia
Okay.
50:42
Kieran
One of my nicknames in high school was the girl with the butt.
50:44
Julia
Oh, you did share this on the pod I shared on the pod.
50:45
Kieran
Okay, so the recap, in case you haven't seen it, there was a collection of people who referred to me as the girl with the butt.
50:52
Julia
Right.
50:52
Kieran
And a lot of people were very upfront about the knowledge that I do have a little bit of junk in my trunk, which, like, heck, yeah. But also at the same time, like.
50:59
Julia
Hey, my eyes are up here, like.
51:01
Kieran
And also on the other side of me, like, let's talk about this. But I'm also not lacking in the top half.
51:06
Julia
Like, Right.
51:07
Kieran
The spice racks are very full with flavor. You know, girl, me too, so. But not about, like. I'm not complaining.
51:13
Julia
No, Right.
51:13
Kieran
Like, you go.
51:15
Julia
Thank you.
51:16
Kieran
Anyhow, so this is a thing that is. Was just keeping our back of my mind or in a push. Or maybe it's not. It was either a push or my, like, personal finance class. I think it's my personal. It was my personal finance class my senior year. It was my econ and personal finance class. Same teacher, though. And I was like, yo, can I go to the bathroom? And he Was like, yeah, you gyatt to go. And everybody was like, hello. What? Because he was like. He, like. Was like, yeah, isn't that a thing now? Yeah, like, don't you got a gyatt? Like, you got to go. Like, you go. And they were like, no, no, no, no. And I was like, okay. And everybody just kind of, like, looked each other, and they're like, so that's not.
51:55
Julia
Oh, that's not. Hey.
51:57
Kieran
So you actually just told her that she has a fatty in the back. And he was like, oh. So looking at the board now, we're gonna look at the economic downfall of 2008 during the housing crash. So biggest compliment, I guess, but wow.
52:10
Julia
Also at the same time. That's crazy, actually.
52:13
Kieran
Wait, so what pasta shape do you think I'd be?
52:15
Julia
Okay, that's what I was just thinking. I. You know. You know those. Like, I'm scared.
52:21
Kieran
I'm already scared and insulted.
52:23
Julia
No, no.
52:23
Kieran
Okay.
52:24
Julia
There's. There's two that I'm. I'm sitting with here. One is, you know, like a stuffed pasta shell.
52:29
Kieran
Yes, I think.
52:30
Julia
Yes.
52:31
Kieran
Okay.
52:31
Julia
And then also. Hold on. I forgot. Oh, you know, like, the noodles that are, like, kind of like. They're, like, long and thin, like this thick, and they're, like, in, like, little balls like the nests. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I could also see that.
52:45
Kieran
Any reason or is it just because I'm large or.
52:49
Julia
No, no, no, no, please.
52:52
Kieran
No, no. I know, I know.
52:53
Julia
No, I don't know. I just. Like, something about me is I feel these things, but I don't have a reason. Like, I can just feel these things in my heart. Like, if I say a truth, it's because it's right in my heart. And I just am telling you that is correct. I think it's because I like both of those things. Like, those are my go to's. Like a give me stuffed pasta shell.
53:08
Kieran
I'm, like, sad.
53:10
Julia
I was about to say something that I was gonna say going down on.
53:13
Kieran
That, but taking it down.
53:15
Julia
Taking it down.
53:15
Kieran
Scarfing.
53:16
Julia
Scarfing.
53:17
Kieran
Eating. Eating up. No crumbs. Not a noodle left behind.
53:20
Julia
A bite was taken. Yeah. Anyway, so that's why I think you'd be. And just. Just like, one last thing for my notes up. Same thing. But what kind of cat would I be? Would I be? Because I was recently. I was recently told that I'd be an orange cat, and I was like, I would.
53:35
Kieran
I would second that.
53:36
Julia
I. Like, I had never thought about that before because I. I'm so introverted. But also in the past, like, two years, I have, like, really come out of my shell. And I be talking all the time. Yes. Out of my lasagna noodle. And. And I like. Like, as we can tell by the fact that my go to pickup line is, can I turn you into hamster? I do think that I am kind of.
53:59
Kieran
You give orange.
54:00
Julia
I give orange. I'm kind of.
54:02
Kieran
I need to Google cat types before I answer this.
54:03
Julia
I don't know. Like, I just think I'm just. I don't know. Like, I am kind of weird, and I think that's okay. And I think I am orange cat.
54:11
Kieran
Wait. I have a lot of answers for.
54:12
Julia
This question of what you would be.
54:13
Kieran
Or what I would know what you would be. My first Would be. Would be a cat with very large eyes. I. E. This one.
54:22
Julia
Oh.
54:22
Kieran
Like, there is a cat that we know named Piss. You are piss. Like, you are pissed.
54:28
Julia
Thank you.
54:29
Kieran
You know, but it's like those gray cats with the large eyes, that's what I would give you as one of them.
54:33
Julia
Okay, okay.
54:37
Kieran
Or like, I think they're called rag doll cats. Yes, you would be a rag doll cat. You would be a ragdoll cat. I also. You're going to be kind of insulted by this.
54:44
Julia
Go ahead.
54:45
Kieran
I could give you a furless cat.
54:47
Julia
I love those.
54:48
Kieran
Okay, perfect. I love it. It's a love and a hate. So I wasn't sure where this was going to fall.
54:51
Julia
I love. I love.
54:52
Kieran
I could argue that you're a furless cat.
54:54
Julia
Okay.
54:55
Kieran
I could like. And I. I. Yeah, I can.
54:59
Julia
Yeah.
54:59
Kieran
But I also think that you have a long, luscious tail. Like. Like the cat that you'd be like, that's kind of going back to, like, the cats that like the grumpy cat.
55:06
Julia
Almost. Yeah.
55:07
Kieran
But not. But not grumpy like grumpy, but like the same. The build of the grumpy cat. You know what I'm saying?
55:11
Julia
Like, yeah, so, like. Yeah, an orange grumpy cat with a fluffy tail.
55:15
Kieran
Yeah. And big eyes.
55:16
Julia
Yes.
55:17
Kieran
I stand by the big eyes on all matters.
55:18
Julia
Yeah.
55:19
Kieran
With the spirit of a furless cat.
55:21
Julia
Yeah. No, I like that. I like that.
55:22
Kieran
Yeah.
55:23
Julia
Maybe like, I lose my fur, like, every summer.
55:25
Kieran
Yeah, yeah. You shed a little bit. Yeah, yeah. You're an adapter.
55:28
Julia
You adapt to the season. I'm very flexible.
55:31
Kieran
What cat would I be? Or I'll take dog. You can give me, like, animal or something.
55:34
Julia
Let me look up types of cats, too. Because I need like. Because I was just thinking color wise, I like, wasn't even thinking like. Oh, I just looked up types. I didn't say.
55:41
Kieran
Okay, I think color wise, I would give you calico. I would give you the orange, black and white cat.
55:46
Julia
Okay.
55:47
Kieran
I feel. Or like a siamese. Like, honestly. Oh, my God. Okay, okay.
55:50
Julia
There is this type of cat.
55:51
Kieran
Okay.
55:51
Julia
I don't know. Oh, yes.
55:54
Kieran
Okay.
55:54
Julia
Okay, sure. This right here. I see them on Instagram all the time.
55:58
Kieran
Stop.
55:59
Julia
And when they stop, when they meow, they honk. You need to stop. That is you. Okay. Right there. Not that color, but like what we have going on.
56:06
Kieran
So to give you a visual of what Julia just showed me, picture a skinny owl cat with the biggest ears you've ever seen in your life.
56:12
Julia
They're called. Okay, so this first word I do believe is a slur. So I don't. I'm not really sure if we're like really going in with that word. But it's like it's a short hair with like really big.
56:24
Kieran
You know what it is. Have you ever seen Bolt? The kids movie? The kids animated movie? The evil cat? No, I'm not looking at that baby. That baby has a weird looking mustache. No.
56:37
Julia
Oh, goodness. I need to. You guys. Oh, my golly, look at that.
56:42
Kieran
I don't.
56:42
Julia
Oh, stink, stink. Yeah.
56:45
Kieran
Picture a skinny, odd cat with the biggest ears of Dumbo. That's the kind of cat that Julia just pulled out.
56:49
Julia
Look at it. No, you know what, cat?
56:52
Kieran
I'm looking.
56:52
Julia
You know that cat that I sent you? Real stuff. Her name is Macy.
56:55
Kieran
Yes, that.
56:56
Julia
I've never seen animal that looks more like a person than that cat that looks like you. And she has like maybe 50 followers and she gets like 20 likes on her post. She's all over my for you page. And it is you.
57:06
Kieran
Like, I'll take that one.
57:07
Julia
She. She'd be laying on her little pink couch.
57:09
Kieran
Yes.
57:09
Julia
She, like sits with her arm like propped up on like the door.
57:13
Kieran
And I'm like, what are you doing?
57:14
Julia
You're a cat. That is you.
57:15
Kieran
That is me. Cause I'm just so out of the box, right?
57:18
Julia
I just. I can't.
57:19
Kieran
That cat I'll take because it's like a fluffy.
57:21
Julia
Yes.
57:22
Kieran
Like short, thick hair cat with like big eyes. And I'll take that. No, no.
57:25
Julia
This I can't. They're so cute. Oh, my God. That is so you.
57:30
Kieran
I can't. Where are we at with time?
57:33
Julia
Oh, hello. Let me just. Okay, we're at 57 minutes.
57:36
Kieran
Okay. I have time for another one. Yeah, the other one. I have that. So recently I went to Charlotte to go see a comedian perform a comedy.
57:44
Julia
Showed you on Instagram.
57:45
Kieran
They did well, there was the main guy that I was going for and then they had like two openers and one of the openers followed me. But were they baddie or were they just a four year old woman? So take that as you want. She was daddy. She was telling me to be. Actually, I can't say that I'll tell you there. But in the process of that I took my dad for Christmas and went to a hotel to stay the night because the show was. It was the late shows at 9:30 is when it started.
58:08
Julia
Oh.
58:09
Kieran
So were not driving back from Charlotte. Absolutely not. Because it ended at 11.
58:11
Julia
That's bedtime.
58:12
Kieran
Yeah. I'm going to picture people just started talking in the room next to us. I just not prepared for that.
58:19
Julia
Hey guys.
58:19
Kieran
I have such a problem with hotel beds because why are the sheets tucked in like they're trying to save a body from falling out of a plane.
58:27
Julia
That's an envelope.
58:28
Kieran
Like I.
58:29
Julia
What did I.
58:30
Kieran
That's an envelope. Because wait, I use like a specific thing. My notes have I said how tight they be tucking in them Bed sheets at a hotel. Why am I excavating my blanket?
58:38
Julia
Yes.
58:38
Kieran
Like I am digging for gold trying to get myself into that bed and I do not know why. It is a leg workout too.
58:44
Julia
Yes.
58:45
Kieran
Like I feel like I'm being vacuum.
58:46
Julia
Sealed and they're like the edges are like you will.
58:50
Kieran
Get a paper cut on that thing.
58:51
Julia
Seriously.
58:52
Kieran
Yeah, Alongside that. So I don't really necessarily like that. But also why are we adding in a decorative half sheet at the end of the bed for all of them? It's always like that one. Like brown, like.
59:01
Julia
Yes. And you know, they don't be washing that.
59:02
Kieran
No.
59:03
Julia
Those decorative things, you know, there's germs.
59:04
Kieran
Why are we putting a blanket on top of a blanket that's not actually being used? And it's the feeling of leather and.
59:09
Julia
Something that I just like really have a hard time with hotel beds is, you know, what people have been doing on them things.
59:14
Kieran
Yeah. I choose not to.
59:15
Julia
I can't. Yeah, I can't. Nope. That just does not sit well with me. Like.
59:21
Kieran
No.
59:22
Julia
Like, like maybe there's way too many.
59:24
Kieran
Documentaries with black lights that I know that's.
59:26
Julia
Oh, I can't even think about that.
59:28
Kieran
I choose not. I Can't even.
59:29
Julia
I, like. I just pretend like I'm, like, hovering above the sheets. Like, they're not. There's, like, a pocket of air around me that's like.
59:37
Kieran
I'm not touching this. Yeah. I'm going in with sheets.
59:41
Julia
The loose sheet.
59:42
Kieran
What's the. The COVID sheet? Oh, wait, there's a name for it. The flat sheet. So it's, like, not the one that the. Not the fitted sheet, but, like, that one loose one that goes on top of it.
59:51
Julia
I hate those.
59:52
Kieran
I've never used them, and I think they're stupid.
59:53
Julia
I don't use them either.
59:54
Kieran
I think they're stupid. I don't understand what the point of it is, because why am I getting on top of my fitted sheet? Right. Which is just, like, a blanket for my bed.
01:00:00
Julia
Right.
01:00:00
Kieran
To put a sheet on. To put a blanket on.
01:00:02
Julia
Right.
01:00:03
Kieran
I don't want the shell. She always gets kicked to my feet. It always makes me, like, weirdly sweaty.
01:00:07
Julia
Like, I feel like.
01:00:07
Kieran
I don't. It's weird texture. Like, it feels like I have a pillowcase on top of me, but not in the pillowcase, but on top of it. I don't.
01:00:13
Julia
One thing is, in order to sleep, I must have some fuzzy blanket to hold on to. And so I don't have a top sheet. I just have a fuzzy blanket and then my comforter on top. Yeah. Because I need the fuzz. I need, like, it. Like, I need it. I need it.
01:00:26
Kieran
I always have to, like, hold part of my comforter in my arms. Or I have these like. Like, I have a stuffed animal that's in my bed that I've had since childhood. And I have these two. Like, they're. My dad used to travel a lot for work, and one of the places he had to go is Hawaii. And while he was there, he got those, like, wrap blankets that you're supposed to use as, like, a skirt in Hawaii. But I have two of them that I use them as, like, my snuggle blankets. Like that children walk around with kind of, like, that aesthetic. I've had them since I was, like, five. Okay.
01:00:51
Julia
One thing about me is this is, like, kind of spiraling into a whole little, like, shebang. But I sleep with my hands like this. Like. But I.
01:01:00
Kieran
Could you describe that to everybody who doesn't know what you just said?
01:01:02
Julia
Oh, sorry. I. Like, my hands are in little fists, and they're right below my chin.
01:01:06
Kieran
Yeah.
01:01:07
Julia
And I just sleep like that. But also, you know, like, the. Your hands are together and, like, the praying thing, and they're like under one side of your. I also sleep like that and that reminds me that I like, oh my God. This is like low key. A little bit embarrassing, but this is a safe space. Oh, thank you.
01:01:21
Kieran
Unless you're being called a big eared cat.
01:01:24
Julia
I think that. Anyway, one thing about me is this. On three separate occasions on first dates, I have fallen asleep and like this. I have fallen asleep like this.
01:01:38
Kieran
See, that is a danger concern for me. That is a safety concern. Falling asleep on a first date. No.
01:01:43
Julia
And it like low key. Yes. But I like best believe I vet these individuals before I go in. No, I would never. Right. I'm not able to fall asleep people when I'm around. People that I don't feel safe with. But one thing about me is on this first date, I'm not even sleeping over. It's just at some point if there's a couch, I'm like this. My hands are folded under my head. I'm down at least like last first date, I went on 20 minute nap, woke up and I was like, hey. And they're like, hey, how's your nap? And I was like, it was great. Thank you for asking. Like, thank you. Like that bed was pretty comfy. Thank you.
01:02:16
Kieran
I always do the leg thing with where I make the four with my legs.
01:02:19
Julia
I do that as well. I do that as well every night. Big stretch. Yep. Love, love, love. Yeah. No, I love sleeping. It's so fun.
01:02:26
Kieran
Yeah.
01:02:26
Julia
So cozy.
01:02:27
Kieran

Julia
Bye.
