10cm – What The Spring??

Part 1
Abbas Mehrpouya – Ghabliyeh Leili
- I found this tune on a compilation album called Old But Gold, vol 5.
- Abbas Mehrpouya describes himself as an Iranian Musician, Sitar player, decorator and world traveler! A man of adventure, so who better to start the show with tonight.
Googoosh – Talagh
- Now, this is a very famous TV personality and actor from back in the day, but we’re starting things in part 2 with Googoosh, and you can obviously explain it better, so we’ll leave it for then.
Ebi - Ghesseyeh Eshgh
- Ebi, also known as Ebrahim Hamedi, is celebrated as the "Master of Voice" and is Iran's most beloved contemporary male pop vocalist.
- He left Iran two years before the 1979 revolution to perform concerts in the United States and has continued his singing career abroad since then.

-
- Originally from the Iranian movie 'Barcode,' this rap song by Yas became a massive hit in Iran.
- Known as one of Iran's most popular rappers, Yas gained fame for his thought-provoking music. 'Barcode' is an inspirational track about striving for success
Arian Band – Parvaz (Fly)
- Arian Band, a beloved Iranian pop group since the late '90s, has released four albums, performed globally, and generously donates a portion of their profits to the United Nations World Food Programme.
- Among their hits, 'Fly' remains a cherished favorite among Iranians

Part 2

- Googoosh, born Faegheh Atashin in 1950, is an iconic Iranian diva, actress, and TV presenter.
- She rose to unparalleled popularity in the 1970s, where she was celebrated as a cinema star, TV personality, pop music sensation, and a fashion trendsetter for Iranian women.
- Despite being banned from performing after the Islamic revolution in 1979, Googoosh chose to remain in Iran and refrained from singing for nearly two decades. In 2000, she resumed her singing career and later settled in Los Angeles, California.
Faramarz Aslani - My all (to - تو)
- Faramarz Aslani, known for his captivating guitar skills and vocals, gained a devoted following with his hit song "Ageh Ye Rooz...".
- He has since ventured into diverse musical genres, establishing himself as one of Iran's esteemed musicians.
Kourosh Yaghmaei – Gole Yakh
- Another compilation find for me, the title on this one being Back from the Brink: Pre-Revolution Psychedelic Rock from Iran: 1973–1979
- Yaghmaei performed on radio or television in Iran till 1970s. During the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Islamic government cracked down hard on his music. It seems similarly to Googoosh, he would be in exile nowadays, having moved to Belgium I believe.
Mahsa Vahdat & Mighty Sam McClain- Scent of Reunion
- Mighty Sam McClain from America and Mahsa Vahdat from iran are both impressive artists from different musical backgrounds.
- They collaborate with a Norwegian producer and poet known for "Lullabies from the Axis of Evil" to craft a captivating album of bilingual love duets, seamlessly blending English and Farsi.

- Farsad is a pretty well known veteran indie pop artist, having made debut years ago, but still more of a local phenomenon in Iran mostly.
Fereidoon Foroughi – Zendoon Del
- A tune from 1992 right here, from the late great artist.
- He contributed greatly to Iranian music and arts and his unique voice and style soon caught on with the people. In addition to his studies in acting, playing the guitar, piano and organ he also composed his own music and that of other artists, with compositions based mostly in jazz & blues.

- "Exist" released only few days ago, highlights his skills as a singer and songwriter. The song's theme revolve around love and self-expression with relatable lyrics and memorable melody.
10cm – What The Spring??
- This is a band that is now the solo project of Kwon Jung-yeol, but was originally formed as a duo back in 2010.
