Steve Hopkinson has been appointed Service Delivery Director for CrossCountry.
Hopkinson will oversee the operations teams at Cross Country, and will also lead on the delivery for customers, ensuring that high quality and effective service is maintained.
Hopkinson held previous roles at Northern as regional director and most recently at as Operations Director for Network Rail, leading on infrastructure planning and operations for the East Midlands route.
Hopkinson will join Cross Country in the Spring

Major work that was planned for February as part of the £400 million resignalling project in South London has been delayed. The switch on of the new signalling system which was planned for late February has now been pushed back until later in 2024.
The upgrades taking place between Crystal Palace, Tulse Hill and Peckham Rye are part of the programme of investment in track and signalling upgrades, which will see new Alstom supplied signalling replacing the current 1980’s equipment.
No new date has been given by Network Rail on when the switch-on is expected.

Etihad Rail, the United Arab Emirates first national freight and passenger rail network recently completed its first passenger service.
The line which stretches across the country has been open to freight in several areas since February 2023. The first trial passenger service started in Abu Dhabi and completed its journey at Al Dhannah (Al Danna).
The new line will be a key route for the countries freight and passengers once open, with the expected date for completion in early 2025.
