Greetings and Welcome to The 405 Coffee Break with O.K. Solberg
New episodes tend to air over the local KMMR radio station @ 5 minutes past 4PM each M-F. And have been doing so, nearly every week since Sept 2018.
I'm D.J. Rasmussen, O.K.s friend since junior high, possibly your neighbor & this websites maintainer, whom strives to get each episode's show notes written, the transcript proofed and the audio posted to the internet within a few hours of that days KMMR air time. NOTE: recently been publishing most new releases by 4:30PM.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the time we can spend together.
I wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. Guys, get you a cup of coffee, glass iced tea, bottle of water. Let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $5.92 a bushel. 550lb steer calf $5.05 a pound. Butcher hog in Iowa 65ยข a pound, and a 100lb lamb that's fat in Billings $2.75 a pound. But guys, there's more much more.
OK Solberg:I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I went overtime yesterday. That shopping at Albertsons and stopping at the post office took more time than I thought. That's why I wrote it so long. So I'll let the class out early today. Okay.
OK Solberg:Bible verse to set the pace for the weekend. The weekend's coming. Did you work hard this week? Are you all tuckered out? Here's a Bible verse just for you.
OK Solberg:Matthew 11:28 And it says, come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 Like I said, it's good to get some rest. Okay.
OK Solberg:Today, just a little bit of trivia. Did you know octopuses have 3 hearts? Yep. Two pump blood to the gills, one to the rest of the body, and PS, their blood is blue. What about this?
OK Solberg:The Eiffel Tower can grow about 2 to 6 inches taller in summer as iron expands with heat. That ain't no lie. Two to 6 inches taller. Get your tape measure. Now after you hear this one, you're gonna wonder why I shared it.
OK Solberg:Well well, the answer is everyone should know it. Alright? Everyone should know it. Slavs typically descend from trees to defecate only about once a week. It's true.
OK Solberg:Fred Bear, inventor of the Pringles can, had his ashes partly buried in a Pringles can. Yep, he did. A blue whale's heart is so big a human could swim through its major arteries. Check it out. Now listen.
OK Solberg:Everyone should have a basic basic grasp of how their body responds to stress because it affects both mental and physical health more than most people realize. Stress triggers a biological response designed to help you react act quickly. But when it becomes constant, it can lead to fatigue, irritability, weakened immunity, and difficulty concentrating.
OK Solberg:Recognizing early signs like disrupted sleep, tension, or changes in appetite can help you intervene before it escalates, manage your stress. Simple habits like regular movement, breathing exercises, and taking breaks can reset your system, making you more resilient and better equipped to handle everyday challenges.
OK Solberg:Now here's another one, and then I'll close. Everyone should understand how credit works. Because it quietly shapes so many parts of an adult's life, a credit score isn't just a number, it's a snapshot of how reliable you've handled borrowed money over time.
OK Solberg:Paying bills consistently, keeping debt low relative to your limits, and avoiding missed payments all contribute to a healthier score. This number can determine whether you're approved for a loan, what interest rate you'll pay, and even whether you can rent an apartment.
OK Solberg:Knowing how credit builds and how easy it can be to damage it helps you make small short decisions that pay off in a big way over time. And there you have it. It may not have made you laugh, but at least it's food for thought. Oh, wait. Listen. When you're talking about handling money, my wallet is like an onion. Open it makes me cry. Have a good weekend.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
