YOUR INSURANCE CONNECTION

Insurance agent Donald Marquez breaks down how life, homeowners, auto, boat, and motorcycle coverage can protect your family and your finances. He explains whole life policies designed for final expenses, with locked-in rates, cash value, accelerated death benefits, and optional child riders, and notes that some products require no physical exam and may be available to applicants with a smoking history or conditions such as diabetes, lupus, multiple sclerosis, or cancer, depending on underwriting. Donald also covers term insurance for younger families and mortgages, including expiration terms and conversion limits, and warns that borrowing against cash value accrues interest and can reduce the death benefit if left unpaid. He stresses the importance of keeping beneficiary designations current, especially when a beneficiary has passed away or a minor is named, and why a trust for minors must be set up by an attorney. Regular policy reviews can help clear up coverage limits, loan balances, and beneficiary details. Donald closes with contact information for calls or texts, with office visits available by appointment.

People like, hey, we just lost a person in the family, and they didn't have any life insurance. Let's stop that. You know, it's it's it passes down generational debt. It makes it very difficult to grieve when you have generational debt passed down, paying for a very expensive funeral. And now, if you're in your 70s listening to this program and you're smoking a cigarette and you say to yourself, "I need to call Donald Marquez. I know the rate is going to be high because I'm smoking cigarettes for life insurance. We don't. We won't rate you as a as a smoker. We'll rate you as a non-smoker for the first 36 months. Give you an opportunity to stop smoking cigarettes. There's no physical exam required. Protection from very first day bills, cash value. I mean, accelerated death benefit. What that means is you can get up to 50% Let's say if you only have 12 months to live, you can get up to 50% of the face amount of the policy while you're still living. I mean, you know, so child writer, we can add a child writer 17 years or younger on the policy. And if you want to insure your children, I have a policy through Gerber Life Insurance Company that I can sure insure infants up to 14 days young, up to 14 years young, insuring a child at that age up to $50,000 in insurance, it doubles when they turn 18 without your payment doubling. What I do as an insurance professional, I find companies that would benefit my clients. I, you know I specialize people in people with underlying health conditions. If you have diabetes, lupus, history of cancer, don't give up. I can get you a life insurance policy. You know I know you've been turned down. I understand that, but even if I submit an application and we'll find out like immediately whether you qualify or not, I can shop while we're on the phone or face to face and find you another policy. As long as you're between the age of day one and 85 years young, Donald Marquez can find you a policy. My my contact phone number is 702-236-2624. My business hours are Monday through Friday, and I'm starting working on some weekends now. So again, you have to contact me at that number. I just gave you again 702-236-2624. My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. located Sahara Rancho in the U.S. Bank Center, Eighth Floor, 702-236-2624. You can call me at that number or text me at that number, and I always respond. I always people say, "I've been trying to call you. Well, I don't try to answer my phone. I do answer my phone, and if if I don't answer, because I'm on the phone with another client, I will call you back. Now you have to understand, you know, as an and just like you, I get a lot of these calls. People call and they know I'm on business, and they know they wanna, they just wanna give me money. You know, all these. Hey, you you qualify for this loan amount now? You know I get that just like you get it too. I'm trying to figure out a way to get rid of those calls, but for right now, you know, like you, I think it's a way to do it. I was looking at something on Facebook the other day where, you know, you can delete those calls. Won't come through your phone. You have to, I think you have to download an app or something. But it's something's out there. However, I will answer the call if you call me. I will return your call back.

I'm an old-fashioned insurance agent, you know, and my values when they're taking care of customers. When I was taught years ago, back in the '90s with Allstate Insurance Company, they. You know they really instilled in us as insurance professionals to take take care of your customer, listen to your customer, make sure you understand the customer. Don't offer the customer something in your benefit as an agent. Make sure your your your customer is comfortable with what you're offering. That's not hard to figure out. It's really not. You know, you tell me what you can afford, life insurance. I go by that. You know, hey, if their budget it allows you to pay so much money each month, look at as a savings account for a life insurance policy. You know, there there are many times I need life insurance. What do you have to offer? Well, I can offer amount of $1,000 into the millions of dollars of life insurance. What you're trying to protect? Number one, are you are you trying to protect a mortgage, or a family, or you just want a final expense life insurance policy? Up to $50,000 in whole life protection. No no physical required. It only takes about 20 minutes over the phone, or or if you like to come in face to face by appointment. I work by appointment. You know, some people just sometimes they pop into my office, you know, with another client. I work by appointment. I cannot stress that enough. Now I make it very simple, very easy. You can select the due date between the first and the 28th of each month, the first and the 28th of each month. So a lot of people like to pick the 15th or the first of the month, the third or the fifth, you know. And when that's when their you know Social Security check may come in, or through the middle of the month, every third Wednesday, we can make an accommodation again. I if you're just tuning in, thank you for tuning in to radio program, a broadcast right here, KUMV 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday from eight a.m. to 830. I've been broadcasting here for almost four years now, but if you're smoking with your cup of coffee, a non nicotine premium. In other words, you'll be rated as a non smoker. In 30 years in the insurance business, I've never seen a company is willing to take a chance and say, you know what, this person want to stop smoking, we'll give them the opportunity to stop smoking. Basically, what it means is, you know, you can stop smoking right away, and you can, you know, and that's good, good for your body, good for your health. But you can smoke, smoke, smoke for 24 months, but the last 12 months to the 36 months, you need to stop smoking. You need to be tobacco free. For more information, my name is Donald Marquez. 702-236-2624. If you're listening to this program and you're in California, Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, I'm able to write life insurance in those states. Yes, I am licensed in those states to write life insurance. At home and auto, I'm licensed in 48 states, with the exception for home and auto in California and New York. But if you're in Michigan, you need auto insurance. I can I can write you a policy. Listening to KUMB, people listen to KUMB all over the all over the world, really all over the world, but really, really right here in the United States, and you know, it's not limited to Las Vegas, Nevada. People listen everywhere, and I'm able to write insurance policies in in different states other than the state of Nevada. Now, the state of Nevada is my base. I write a lot of life insurance policies over the phone. Again, 70236 2624. I give my phone number out a lot during the broadcast, so if you didn't get it because you're just not tuning in, I will repeat my phone number. If you like to add a child rider on your life insurance policy up to age 17 years young, and when they turn 25 years young, they'll spin off on their own policy. We can make that happen. They'll be a writer in your policy, and there's no physical for you or the children up to $50,000 in whole life coverage.

Now, why you say to yourself, "Well, you know, I want a $50,000 whole life policy. Well, it pays for your final expenses. That's what it does. You know, a lot of you are insured day one, and that's the beauty of of this policy. We just look at your pharmaceutical medications. Now I don't see what the underwriters see. The computer, the technology today is quick. I get an answer in minutes. I mean, just quick answer. You know, and there are times when people like, okay, I'm on this medication, that medication, but it's not prescribed. I just buy it over the counter. No, I want to know just your prescribed medications. Now, if you say to yourself, "Well, I don't take certain medication, but I get the medications refilled each month, you know, again, the insurance company is going to look at your medications that you are prescribed, whether you're taking the medications or not, and don't think well because you know you have lupus you can't get life insurance, or multiple sclerosis you can't get life insurance. If you have stage one, stage two, or even stage up to stage four cancer, and you're managing your stage four cancer, I can get you a life insurance policy. $25,000. Now you would have to be of of the age of 40. No, excuse me, 50 to 80 to get that to qualify for that. 50 to 80. Now, so if again, if you stage one, stage two, stage three, or even stage four, from 50 to 80 years young, I can get you up to $25,000 in whole life protection. Now, whole life means you you you're insured the rest of your life. You know your rates and benefits are locked in for the term of the policy. They're locked in for the life of the policy. And what does that mean? A whole life policy. You're insured to age 121. Good luck trying to live that long, 121. Now, if you read each, if you reach age 100, then your policy premium stop. Or at any time doing the you know build up of your cash value with your whole life policy, you can borrow money against the policy. You can, you know. Again, but if you borrow money, I said make it a short-term loan, pay the money back. Now, now it's up to you. It is optional. Now, if you out there listening to this program right now, you have borrowed money from your life insurance policy. You haven't paid it back. You haven't paid any money back because you do have to make a separate payment. You have to make arrangements with the life insurance company to pay an additional, you know, fund your policy additional funds each month on top of your premiums, which is is not a set amount, how much you have to pay. In other words, for an example, if your premium payment is is is you know, let's say a less than $50 a month, and you borrow $3,000 from your life insurance policy. It is going to take some little time to build that up on your cash value. Now you borrow $3,000 on a $25,000 policy. Now you can spend up to $25 a month extra paying on that policy, or whatever amount you feel like you can afford. Keep in mind, you know there is anywhere from seven to 9% interest rate against the money borrowed. Yeah, seven to 9% But you know, don't don't borrow the money, not pay it back, not pay it back because it does it does accumulate the interest on top of the money borrowed. It's your money. You can do whatever you want, I'm just letting people know because because many of you out there that's listening to this program today, like KUNV, 91.5 jazz and more, have borrowed money against your life insurance policy, right? And every once a year, you receive a statement, and you see, okay, well, money borrowed, how much interest have accumulated on money borrowed. They will. The insurance companies will minus it from your death benefit. Okay. So if you borrowed $3,000 and all of a sudden eight years have gone by, that $3,000 could be $6,000 or more now. Yeah, I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just trying to tell you how this works. Now, if you want to come in, call me.

You contact me at 702-236-2624, and I'll offer you no obligation. In other words, I don't charge you to come see me by appointment only, and we'll go over your life insurance policies, your auto insurance, and your homeowner's insurance, and I also write boat and motorcycle insurance. But life insurance, you know, you want to know when that policy ends, or how much you owe against that life insurance policy. If you borrowed money, this is why it's good to get a no obligation review. You have to bring in your policy, and and again and again, sometimes people think I can pull up the policy, I can't. I can't. Even policies that I write, life insurance policies that I write, I don't have access to them. And the reason for that is to protect your privacy. Protect your privacy, because if I have access, you know, they, you know, and I'm not doing nothing wrong. I'm just, you know, they just don't allow me access. They just don't, because they want to make sure you're you're good. You know, your your information is private, and they the insurance companies that we select, they do not share your information with other companies. However, if you decide to go online, you know, like so many of you do, to to shop for insurance, and you receive multiple phone calls, and you will. This is how it works. They take your information when you go online, and they sell it to other insurance agents. You know, and it's and sometimes up to $45 per person. Yeah, up to $45. That's what the agent pays to get your information, right? We don't share that information. I don't share that information. You call, you contact me. The insurance company that I select, we select together. Okay, that's the only insurance company that's going to contact you or me. That's it. But when you go online and you put all your valuable information online, your name, your phone number, your. Address, sometimes even a car you drive, on car insurance, life insurance, same thing. I have, you know, they ask you multiple questions. Do you have life insurance? No. Do you smoke? Yes. No. Yeah, they know a lot about you. So by the time that, and then the the key is your phone number, your email address, so they can get in touch with you. Now they take your information and sell it to multiple insurance agents across the country, and this is why. And the ones that are licensed in Nevada, or even the one that live here in Nevada, they buy leads too. I don't purchase leads. It's a way, and it's an educational program, by the way. And and you know, and you learn a lot listening to me. I share information, valuable information, coming on the radio, talking to you about your insurance and your insurance needs and the do's and the don'ts. They give you a little bit better insight. You know, you paying for insurance every month. There's many, many times when I ask customers, "What are you paying for? You know, every time we're talking about car insurance, the answer is always the same. Oh, I have full coverage. Well, what's your bodily injury coverage? I don't know. I have full coverage. For me, as an agent, that doesn't mean anything. That's just telling me you have what the state requires, but maybe more than collision and comprehensive. That doesn't tell me a whole lot. And this is why it's important to have an agent that line by line breaks it down to tell you exactly what what you have on your policy. I'll go over your policy with you. The information up front. You have a lot of information up front, so you know exactly what you're purchasing. Now a lot of times too, people get information in the mail. Here's another way to buy life insurance. They oh the offer coming in the mail looks great. Travel accident life insurance. Don't do that. Don't. It says exactly what it says. Travel accidental life insurance, meaning you're not covered for natural causes, and 99.9% of you will pass for natural causes. Listen, I want you around for a very, very long time to enjoy life, and we're going to cool down. So you want to be around long enough to enjoy this cool weather, because we just went through four months of summer. So.

used to be only three months, and now it's it has extended itself well into September, and now we into October, and and and the weather is going to get cooler, and I'm so happy. This is my time of the year: the fall, the winter, and the spring. I love Vegas. The fall, the winter, the spring, it's the best weather. We have like San Diego. I call it San Diego weather for for those eight months, and then we're back to the gruesome heat. But for right now, enjoy. I want you around for a long time to enjoy the weather, and you know, just enjoy your family members. But you don't want to leave your family members stuck with a very expensive funeral to pay for, and they don't, you know, and it's always it always come down to one person. One person is responsible, you know. A lot of times you go to your your siblings or or your family members and say, you know, hey, I need some help to, you know, put Dave to rest, take care of his final expenses. Hey, you know, Dad didn't have a life insurance policy. No, Dad did not have a life insurance policy. You sure? And how much is it going to cost to bury Dad? Well, you know they-they're telling us it's up to $25,000. The way you know everything we need to do with the repast and and you know the headstone and everything-it's coming up to 25,000, and they want all the money right now. This this happens every day. Well, I don't have that kind of money. What am I? You know, or you know, then you got to go into debt, put money on your charge cards. You know, maybe hit your 401k if you don't have a life insurance policy. Now, life insurance policy, you pay chip, you chip away at a little bit at a time. It's a living benefit as well. Like I said earlier, you could borrow money against it, but life insurance too. I want to make sure you have enough on the life insurance policy to take care of the final expenses, because with you know with everything going up the way it is, right? And funeral service is also going up. You know, it just it just it happens with everything else with the fuel prices. You know, I've never seen fuel prices this high. Everything is going up. Again, my name is Donald Marquez. This is your insurance connection. I'm a licensed insurance agent. I represent 60 life insurance companies. I'll find a company that fit your needs. Now, if you need more than $50,000 worth of life insurance, I have policies that go well into from 100,000, 200,000, and up as much as you can afford. Now, I've been asked this question: Can I have more than one life insurance policy? Yes, you can. Yes, you may have more than one life insurance policy. I I talk about. The whole life product because it's simple, quick, and easy. Most people just want to make sure you know that's that's that that final expense is taken care of. You know, if you have equity in your house, if you have a home, and you're the only one on the on the deed, maybe you know because you maybe you've lost your spouse and you haven't taken your spouse's name off the deed, and put another person on the deed of your home, or if your loved one was on your life insurance policy, let's say the husband was on a life insurance policy, or another individual or individuals, and they've passed, and you still have your life insurance policy, but you have not updated the beneficiary or the beneficiaries, you need to contact your life insurance company, call them, and ask for a change of beneficiary form, because when you go take the life insurance policy into the mortuary, and let's say the primary beneficiary has passed, right, and and the and the insured person has passed. Now that's two individuals gone though. The beneficiary is gone because dad was a beneficiary. Now mom has passed, and she was the insured person. It was her policy. Now that policy goes into probate.

Now the person, the second of kin, will probably get the money eventually, but it's going to be tied up for quite some time, so that money you think you can use, you can't, because it's tied up. Another thing too, I I don't practice this as an insurance professional. I don't put young children under 18 years young on on policy as a beneficiary, a sole beneficiary. In other words, they're on there by themselves. I've seen it happen. People are listening to this program at 91.5 jazz or more. They said, "I listen to your program. You you sound very knowledgeable. I have a question for you. And this happened. A gentleman came to me. His his wife, his ex-wife passed, right, and his young 14-year-old daughter was the primary beneficiary. Now, an ex-wife passed. He he was wondering. Now he he has to take care of the 14-year-old daughter, right? And he said, "Well, it's 100,000-dollar life insurance policy. How can I get the money, you know, to help me take care of my daughter? You can't because that money is in it's it it is in trust until she turns 18 years young. Now, once she turns 18, the life insurance company will give her the money all at once. Now, there are some variables to that. Now, if the young daughter was had the life insurance policy, the mother had put the policy as as a trust and a trust for the daughter, that may be a little different, you know. And the trust now is a beneficiary, and the daughter now is a recipient of the trust, and the money is is given to the daughter so much money each month. So you know, can you really give an 18 year old $100,000 all at one time? This is why when I ask people who is your primary beneficiary. I want to. I want to make sure that you. You're not. Don't. You're not. You're not. Okay. Well, I have grandchildren. I want my. I want. I want my grandchildren to benefit from my passing. So I want to make my three grandchildren my beneficiaries, and all of them under 10 years young. Well, then, you know you need a trust, or you know maybe even a will. But I think a trust, you you know, and I'll put the young the young children on there with intentions that you're gonna take your policy to an attorney. Now, attorney will set up the trust as a beneficiary and the disbursements and everything. You know this is not that complicated. It's really not. You know there's ways to do things right now. Where as a beneficiary, the trust as a beneficiary will distribute funds to those loved ones over a certain period of time, so they don't won't get the money all at once. Now, and it's up to you as a person that taking out the trust to those dividends coming to your loved ones, you can set it up any way you want to through an attorney. I'm not an attorney. I don't write trust. I'm gonna say that again. I'm not an attorney. I'm an insurance agent. I write the insurance life insurance policy. You take it into your attorney. They do the magic. Because I've had people call me say, well, you know, I heard you talking about trust and life insurance. I need a trust and I need a life insurance policy. I can only write the life insurance policy. Take it to your attorney; they'll set it up, the trustee, and all that information. My name is Don Marquez. For more information, 702-236-2624 702-236-2624, and I've talked to people, you know, in passing. People say, "Oh, I'm good, and a lot of times you're not, you know. I mean, I really, I've seen a lot of policies in my life, and you're not. Good. If you buy term insurance, it does expire. It terms out, and I know on your life insurance policy. Yeah, at the age 95, I'm good. No, you're not, because if you have a 20-year policy and you buy it at 55, by the time you're 75, that policy is over. Now you go into what we call the extended term policy, because now every year your policy rate is going to go up.

Where the point is, the first two years you may can be able to afford it, but usually after the third year you can't. You let it go because it's too much money. It really it is. So don't don't think because you you purchase in a term life and it says to age yeah to age 95 if you will and pay those very expensive premiums. What's the term of life insurance policy? You can convert it most of the time. You know, if you if you have certain policies, you cannot convert because they don't have the conversion in the policy. You know, they don't have some policies don't have the conversion, and or the conversion period is limited. And this is again why is a good reason to have an insurance review? Term is not a bad policy to purchase, especially if you try to insure a young family a mortgage. It's not a bad policy to have. You get a lot of insurance for low cost, but at the end of the term of the policy, you you want to make sure you have options to roll that policy over to your whole life or a universal life insurance policy. My name is Donald Marques. You know, I've been an insurance agent now for 30 years. I received my bit, my license in 1996. You know, I love what I do. You know, the longer you wait, the more it's going to cost. That's just the bottom line. Now, once you get a policy, the rates and benefits. The life insurance policy. The rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. We'll do this again next week. All right, go out and enjoy yourself today. It's going to be a beautiful day right here in Vegas. We'll do this again next week. Until then, be safe. Thank you for listening.
