[CHRISTIE'S WINE CELLAR — 100% SOLD]
A single-owner wine sale at Christie's has cleared the room. The Exceptional Private Cellar of a Silicon Valley Pioneer, was sold on June the fifth at Christie's Rockefeller Center in New York, totaling $3.3 million dollars. Christie's reports that the sale was 100% sold by lot and a full white glove result. It was 132% sold by low estimate which means the total came in a third above the low end of expectations.
[CHRISTOPHER BAILEY ACQUIRES BURLEIGH]
Christopher Bailey, the former chief creative officer and chief executive of Burberry, is leading the acquisition of Burleigh, the English pottery maker. The company is a 175 years old — one of the oldest Victorian potteries still operating. Terms were not disclosed.
[EBAY-DEPOP UNDER UK REVIEW]
In resale, Britain's Competition and Markets Authority has opened a formal review of eBay's purchase of Depop, the secondhand-fashion app. The regulator says it will decide by August 16th whether to clear the deal or refer it for an in-depth investigation.
[THE FOOTWEAR MARKET, TWO WAYS]
Three stories from the footwear market.
First, StockX, the resale platform, is launching a live-shopping service this summer selling everything from sneakers to electronics in real time. Chief executive Greg Schwartz says it is the platform's next growth lever.
Second, New Balance's India partner, Brandman Retail, plans to bring more global brands including Salomon and Anta into the Indian market, and to increase store count 15x by 2028.
Designer Brands, the parent of DSW, saw its stock drop on weak guidance. Sales for the first-quarter increased by just 1.4%, to $696 million dollars.

Nearly 11,000 bottles of Noble Oak bourbon were stolen in Philadelphia last week. This was the latest in a run of large spirits heists over the past year.
And in collectible autos, actor Jason Momoa and Hedley Studios have unveiled a one-of-a-kind electric Mini Bentley Blower. This is a scaled recreation of the 1920s race car, with one hundred custom touches.

The Bank of France will raise its 2026 inflation forecast, according to Governor Emmanuel Moulin who cited the effect of the Iran war on prices.

The Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels sale is in New York today. Christie's Important Watches follows tomorrow, June 10th, also in New York.
In addition, we have the Christie's Paris Hermes handbag sale and Sotheby's Gem Drop both on the 12th.
On Saturday the 13th, Bonhams will sell roughly 100 cars from the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada.
