The Viktor Wilt Show

This episode begins with Viktor Wilt waking up in the spiritual condition of a Victorian child who has just been informed that electricity has been invented, except instead of tuberculosis he has acid reflux from coffee. It is Tuesday, he didn't sleep enough, his guts have apparently declared war on civilization, and Peaches has provided the studio with the emergency medical technology known as a little tub of Tums. Viktor's grand plan for solving his sleep deprivation is essentially to knock himself unconscious at 9 p.m. and try life again, while his dream for the upcoming holiday weekend is to disappear into a dark room, turn off the lights, watch television, and have absolutely no interaction with humanity. Unfortunately, he is still required to work, give away approximately seventeen million concert, fair, and monster truck tickets, and somehow produce a radio show despite his brain operating somewhere between "low battery" and "please restart Windows."

Things get even more ridiculous when Viktor discovers that Josh is going to be late, which immediately inspires the deeply professional workplace question: "How can I also sleep in?" Viktor briefly considers taking a secret nap on the break-room couch, only to remember that the building is covered in cameras and that management might have some questions about why an employee apparently spent an hour unconscious beside the vending machines. From there, he wanders into the internet looking for something to discuss and discovers that the modern news cycle is basically a flaming landfill of political arguments, Facebook essays, and people writing doctoral dissertations about gas prices. Then comes the realization that the studio is approximately the temperature of a freshly opened volcano, Viktor needs more water, maybe some medication for his stomach, and absolutely needs to stop talking long enough to find actual content.

Then the show enters the Grand Theft Auto 6 Relationship Wars, which is somehow a real thing people are apparently arguing about. Viktor discusses online rage-bait surrounding GTA 6, specifically claims that some women are supposedly upset because their significant others will be able to interact romantically with female characters in the game. Meanwhile, other people apparently believe that including a woman in the game has transformed GTA into some kind of woke feminist simulator. Viktor's basic response to both camps is: please remember that these are fictional people inside a video game. The discussion spirals through dating mechanics, antagonizing NPCs, texting characters, The Sims, fictional girlfriends, and the possibility that somebody's relationship is apparently threatened by a polygonal woman who lives inside a PlayStation. The episode effectively establishes that humanity has reached a point where we may need international peace negotiations over imaginary video-game girlfriends.

Next, Viktor tackles the phenomenon of Yellowstone creating an army of fake cowboys. He reads a story about a man's father buying land in Texas, surrounding himself with trucks, cars, guns, and Yellowstone on television, and apparently deciding that he is John Dutton. The father's masculinity standards are apparently being judged against characters like Rip Wheeler, which leads Viktor to point out the extremely important fact that Rip is not exactly a role model for healthy human behavior. John Dutton isn't exactly winning Father of the Year either. The whole thing becomes a magnificent examination of what happens when somebody watches enough television about ranches, guns, murder, family feuds, and men glaring intensely into the middle distance and concludes, "Yes. This is how I should live."

Then we plunge directly into the criminal underworld, where apparently someone in Australia decided that the ideal place to hide methamphetamine was inside a McMuffin. Viktor describes the discovery of approximately 3.5 grams of meth hidden in the breakfast sandwich and immediately arrives at the obvious conclusion: if police see you walking into a house they're watching and then walking back out carrying a McMuffin that smells like chemicals, perhaps the breakfast burrito isn't going to successfully camouflage your narcotics operation. The episode then moves to San Francisco, where Viktor sarcastically mourns the plight of wealthy people who supposedly can't find enough mansions because AI-generated wealth is shaking up the luxury housing market. A starter home costing around two million dollars becomes the punchline to the larger nightmare of San Francisco real estate.

And because apparently the universe wasn't already sufficiently stupid, Viktor moves into airport grenade jokes, warning listeners that joking about explosives at airport security is not going to produce the sitcom reaction they're imagining. A man in Florida apparently made a joke about having a grenade, prompting police, dogs, and an extremely unnecessary disruption to everyone else's travel plans. From there, the episode takes a hard left into the saga of the serial butt sniffer, a recurring character from the program's apparently ever-expanding encyclopedia of bizarre criminals. This individual has allegedly been arrested before for wandering around and sniffing people's behinds and, because apparently one arrest wasn't enough to teach the lesson, was arrested again. At this point, Viktor's only remaining question is what kind of intervention could possibly convince a grown adult to stop treating strangers like particularly interesting dogs at PetSmart.

The rock-and-metal portion of the episode briefly restores civilization as Viktor checks in on Kim Dracula, discovering a bizarre Las Vegas event involving Kim Dracula, Haunted, and Chris Angel. This leads to an unexpected appreciation of Penn & Teller, including Viktor's story about meeting the duo after their show and the delightful revelation that if you want to hear Teller actually talk, you can apparently go meet him afterward. Unfortunately, Kim Dracula isn't exactly rolling through East Idaho, so the much more attainable musical salvation comes in the form of Sevendust and Theory of a Deadman tickets, which Viktor is giving away through the station. The competition is essentially: listen for back-to-back songs, become caller number 20, and possibly enter the drawing for Theory of a Deadman meet-and-greets. Meanwhile, Peaches is absent, leaving Viktor to become a one-man ticket-distribution factory.

Then the episode suddenly decides that everybody should think about the end of civilization. Viktor launches into supervolcanoes, Yellowstone, catastrophic eruptions, global food supplies, supply-chain collapse, volcanic winters, and the horrifying possibility of a massive eruption blocking sunlight and turning agriculture into a historical footnote. He discusses claims about roughly twenty supervolcanoes around the world and the terrifying scale of past eruptions, including the massive Tonga eruption. Then Stephen Hawking gets dragged into the apocalypse conversation because apparently a Tuesday morning radio show about acid reflux, meth sandwiches, and butt sniffers wasn't sufficiently existential. The result is a brief philosophical detour into humanity's potential expiration date, after which Viktor essentially arrives at the only reasonable strategy: don't think about it too much and put your head in the sand.

The show then becomes weirdly personal when Viktor discusses seeing people he remembers from school appearing in local news stories. He explains why local stories can be tricky because everybody knows somebody involved, and joking about an absurd story can easily be interpreted as joking about the victim. Nevertheless, one particularly strange local story gets sent to Last Podcast on the Left for possible Side Stories material. Viktor reminisces about a former school acquaintance whose defining memory was repeatedly threatening someone at the Mini Dome with the immortal phrase "I'm gonna bust your chops!" while being, in Viktor's recollection, a relatively small dude. The entire story becomes one of those horrifying local-news situations where you recognize the face, remember the person from decades ago, and suddenly have the deeply uncomfortable realization that everyone you went to school with has continued living separate lives while you were busy trying to remember where you put your car keys.

By the later portion of the episode, the show has transformed into a festival of exhaustion. Viktor and Jade discuss having a three-day workweek, the upcoming Idaho fair, and the sacred tradition of fair-food judging. Last year's experience apparently involved Viktor being trapped at the dreaded "sweets table," where his body was introduced to approximately the entire sugar supply of Idaho. There was Dubai chocolate cheesecake, ice cream, Mexican crazy corn, and enough dessert to make Viktor consider bringing insulin as a side dish. The strategy for this year is to arrive early, secure the correct table, bring containers for leftovers, and avoid repeating the experience of sitting down somewhere only to discover that your assigned culinary mission is apparently to eat seventeen desserts before being allowed to touch a hamburger.

The fair conversation also reveals Viktor's complicated relationship with crowds. He recounts how the final-night fair experience became so densely packed that he essentially wanted to flee the premises, comparing the experience to voluntarily entering the most crowded place in town after waking up specifically thinking, "I don't want to be around people today." This leads naturally into discussion of the farmers market, where despite the crowds, listeners showed up, donated, and came over to say hello. Then, because apparently this episode refuses to maintain a coherent emotional trajectory for more than thirty seconds, everyone returns to the spiritually nourishing topic of music logs, spreadsheets, missing files, YouTube, and the unique experience of nearly falling asleep at your desk while performing administrative work.

The afternoon section becomes The Victor Wilt Show: Solo Survival Edition, because Peaches is gone, Josh is busy, Jade appears sporadically, and Viktor is apparently responsible for giving away every ticket known to man. Monster trucks, fair tickets, Sevendust, Theory of a Deadman, meet-and-greets—it is less a radio program and more an emergency ticket evacuation operation. Viktor's phone system then assaults his remaining brain cells by forcing him to enter an absurdly long code every time he makes a call, which is particularly difficult when his entire neurological system is already focused on the monumental task of obtaining a sandwich.

Then comes Peaches' California Tire Apocalypse. While Peaches is supposedly enjoying herself in California, multiple vehicles on the 405 freeway suffer flat tires after a four-foot metal rod ends up in the roadway. Twelve cars are reportedly affected, traffic is disrupted, and Viktor immediately wonders whether this was an accidental piece of road debris or an intentional attempt to turn Los Angeles traffic into a giant roadside tire-repair convention. This transitions into a larger discussion about people deliberately putting objects in roadways or planting screws in tires, followed by Viktor's increasingly desperate hope that his own tires survive long enough for him to obtain lunch.

And because the roads apparently weren't dangerous enough, Viktor then discusses an alligator on a Central Florida highway that contributed to a chain-reaction crash in which someone died. The story becomes a grim reminder that the road doesn't necessarily care what kind of day you're having: you can be driving normally and suddenly encounter an alligator, a metal rod, a camper, an animal, a child, or basically any other object the universe has decided belongs in the middle of the interstate. Viktor reminds Idaho drivers that the 100 deadliest days of driving are still underway and urges people to be especially careful over the holiday weekend, particularly around campers and trailers that need more time to brake and more room to turn.

Finally, after approximately an entire human lifetime of stories, giveaways, supervolcanoes, meth sandwiches, fictional girlfriends, fake cowboys, butt sniffers, hurricanes, fair food, and gastrointestinal distress, Viktor discovers the ultimate enemy: Burning Man traffic. Apparently the line to enter the desert festival was reportedly around eight hours long, later dropping to five. For a man who has repeatedly spent the episode complaining about crowds, exhaustion, heat, traffic, and wanting a sandwich, the idea of voluntarily sitting in a vehicle for eight hours in the desert is basically psychological warfare. Viktor officially declares himself too tired and too impatient for that lifestyle, decides food is now the most important objective, and ends the show by escaping to find something to eat. Humanity survives another episode. The supervolcano hasn't erupted, the meth McMuffin has been confiscated, the GTA girlfriend remains fictional, the fake cowboys remain fake, and Viktor finally gets to go find a sandwich. A completely normal Tuesday.

What is The Viktor Wilt Show?

The Viktor Wilt Show daily recap! If you miss the show weekdays from 6A-10A MST, you've come to the right place.

What's

Speaker 1: up, peeps? How's it going? It's Victor Wilts. Oh, the coffee is not agreeing with my guts. Got some like acid reflux going on. Thankfully, Peach has bought a uh little little tub of tums for the studio. Gonna dig into those for breakfast. Delicious.

Ugh! Anyway, how's your morning going? I hope it's going good.

Mine's eight. As usual. Didn't get enough sleep.

Such an idiot. Like, I just gotta like. I I don't know. Punch myself in the head and knock myself out at about 9 p.m. Just try again tonight, you know? Just try again tonight.

Get to bed a little bit earlier. I mean, it was a fine evening. But ugh! it's only Tuesday.

It's alright. At least we got the holiday weekend approaching. I can't wait for that. I am going to just hide in my bed. It's gonna be great.

At least that's the plan. Hiding hide in my room. Lights off.

Nothing but TV all weekend. Yeah. So anyway, good morning. Welcome to the program. We got a lot going on today. We got giveaways, glore.

Hooking it up with tickets to Seven Dust and Theory of a Dead Man. You can still sign up to win those uh monster truck tickets. You can do that in the app, any of our apps, K-Bear, Alt, Cannonball. You can sign up to win tickets to the fair, grandstand events. Yeah, we got a lot happening.

Uh as far as stuff you can win, so you should try to win it. I like giving you free stuff. Other than that, just need to dig into the old news and see what we can find to yap about on this program. Uh, let's see. Can I power nap during the uh commercial break?

So no, it's not very long. We only got to got about a minute of a break coming up, and then we'll have more music, alright? And we'll we'll play something nice and heavy to wake us up. Hope you're well. Appreciate you tuning in. We're gonna have a good day. I'm gonna go get those Tums. It hurts.

All my insights hurt. Oh usually the instant coffee doesn't do that to me, but uh it's hidden today. Guess I better have some water to go with it.

Do I have any ameprasol? Ah, Checking my email. I'm sitting here talking to Becca a little bit while I should be digging up content and just basically complaining about being at work.

I'd rather be home. Then I get this email from Josh. Hey, this is Josh. Just a reminder.

Um, I'm gonna be in late today. Yeah. Uh hope you hope you're enjoying your time there.

Like get out of my face, bro. What are you doing? Oh good for you. So, yeah. I'm just sitting here.

The lowly uh only person around. Ugh. Maybe I could get away with the little bit of a napping then. Nobody to tattle on me. Josh ain't here to go jade.

I saw Victor just crashed out on the couch in the break room. Unbelievable. I could set an alarm for you know 740, and I I would think that nobody would catch me. Oh yeah, there are cameras all over the building. Never mind.

GM probably wouldn't be too happy with that. Why were you in the break room for an hour? Yeah, just keeping an eye on things. Yeah, checking things out, making sure it's all good around here. Alright, I'll stay in the studio and I'll yap, but yeah.

I need to come up with an excuse for why I can come in late. Like Josh. Hmm. I don't know. I'll ask Jade when he gets here. What excuse can I use in the future to sleep in like Josh? Hmm. Anyway, uh, it's good to see that we are approaching the 7 o'clock hour.

Cause I want this day to be done. And so far, all I've encountered in the news as I was scrolling away trying to find things to share with you. was It was just basically political garbage. Yeah, get myself in these arguments on Facebook. Arguing with people about gas prices.

What am I doing? What a waste of time. Well, I I guess I I could do worse on social media. Nobody was that mad at me this morning or anything. It was a reasonable discussion, which I'm always happy to see. You know, if I can have a reasonable discussion with people. But yeah, this this one guy wrote me back an essay, and like, ugh, I am not near enough awake to attempt to deal with responding to that. We'll just close that tab.

So yeah. Um, why is it so hot in this studio? It's like cooking in here. Time to crank up the AC, I guess, even though it's a cooler day today, looking at a high of about 75 and a little bit rainy. Should be pretty nice. So anyhow, uh, as you can see, I got nothing, but by the next time I yap, I will have something, okay. I okay, I shouldn't promise, but I'm gonna try. There you go, JD. Sorry, forgot for a bit to play it for you. Alright, right now let's cue the outrage.

Speaker 2: Now might be a really good time for you to get angry. That's my secret, Kat. I'm always angry.

Speaker 1: Alright, I'm I'm not necessarily buying this one. I I think that this is rage bait that people are doing on TikTok just to get views, but you never know. So we've talked plenty about uh Grand Theft Auto 6 on this program. You know, I'm very excited about the release of that game here in about two months ish, and they put out the extended look last Thursday.

You know, I've watched it uh twice, watched it once myself, and then uh forced Becca to watch it once with me. Apparently, some TikTokers are like, my man ain't playing that game. No way. Because in Grand Theft Auto 6, for the first time you're playing as two different characters, one is a man, one is a woman. All the other GTA games, you know, you're just dudes, crazy psycho dudes or whatever.

And in this one, there's like kind of like in Red Dead, you know, you can uh interact with people, you can antagonize them or be nice to them, and I guess with uh the two main characters, there's some type of a relationship aspect, like you know, you can do things like go out on a date, or uh say nice things to each other or hold hands. Um And apparently this relationship aspect of the game has uh some women mad. I I don't believe it though. I I don't believe it because uh there have been a lot of video games that have some type of a relationship aspect. Look at the Sims. I mean, that's like the point of the game, right? This is just uh one aspect of GTA 6 that you don't even like have to do, but yeah, you can like text each other and stuff. They're just you know, adding multiple layers to the realism of the game. Alright, and uh I don't think that anybody out there needs to worry about their man run running off with uh a female video game character that doesn't exist, uh it could again just be rage bait, but uh apparently they're according to gamer rant.

There are tons of TikTok videos like no My man ain't gonna play this game. Eh. I don't know.

I that just seems pretty silly to me. Right? It's a video game. I remember my my kids playing these uh like relationship video games. They were like terrible video games, and uh I wish I could think of the names of some of them, but the the whole point was to like try to get uh a boyfriend or girlfriend. I don't know, and the games again weren't good, but again, it's a video game. So Becky, you better not be like, hey, you can't play this game.

No text in the the video game girlfriend. It's Part of the game. People are weird, man. And then you got the other side, you got dudes who are mad about that because they think uh you know, oh, this is now a girly game.

Rockstar's gone woke, and yeah, now you got this this woman who's bossing her man around. I've seen the dumbest commentary about this game from all kinds of people. Just wait for the game to come out and have some fun. Jeez.

You know, all we've seen is like 20 minutes of gameplay. Get over it. Oh, man.

I don't know about you, but today seems like a good day to have a day off. Okay, I was reading this post from some dude online. Made me laugh. My dad is convinced he's in the show Yellowstone. How many fake cowboys did that show make?

Holy cow. Now, I never finished watching the series. I watched all the seasons up till the final one. It's one of those shows that it just got to be a little bit too far-fetched. And I'm not against far-fetched shows. Like, I love Breaking Bad, one of the greatest shows of all time.

But some of the plot lines in Yellowstone, I was like, alright, I just can't deal with this. Alright. This is so stupid. But Yellowstone definitely created a lot of fake cowboys.

Alright, let's let's get into this guy's post here. My dad is a typical old person now. He bought some land in Texas and lords around it with all his toys and cars. He has Yellowstone on all the time and thinks he's John Dutton. The messed up part is he judges me for not being like some of the characters on the show and tougher like Rip. Oh. Uh the characters on that show are part of the problem. They're you know extremely unbelievable at times. Okay.

And again, it's a TV show, it's not real. Uh I would hope your dad wouldn't want you to be like Rip. Alright. Rip is not a good dude. Either is John Dutton. I I think a lot of people seem to have missed when watching this show that these are bad guys.

You know? Just because the show's about him, like you do not want to try to be like John Dutton. He's like a terrible dad. Like okay, let's see what this guy's saying in his post. My dad's a serious guy since he owns land now and has guns.

Uh yeah. I would imagine uh lot of people moved to uh some western gun-friendly states. So they could be cowboys, but they're probably not doing anything other than driving around in a big truck and maybe uh pack and heat.

They ain't rustling cattle or anything like that. Okay, so he says, um the funny thing is my dad sold printing and advertising products for a living. You know, like bouncy balls or pens with the company's name on it. He didn't even do the printing, it was just a middleman, not a masculine job at all. I'm a blue-collar worker by trade, anyways, but somehow I'm supposed to be more of a man because my dad watches a TV show and shames me for not being more masculine.

Dude, need to uh sit down with your dad and have a talk with him about reality. But why aren't you taking people to the train station? Huh?

Why aren't you real man? Ugh. I'm glad my parents were were pretty cool.

Some people really gotta put up with terrible parents. Uh alright, I gotta find some freak news. Yeah, today's a challenge. Wish me luck.

Okay, let's head to Australia to kick things off here. And we'll uh let you know how to not hide your drugs. I mean, don't do don't do drugs, people, okay? Drugs are bad, okay? Meth is bad, okay. And a meth McMuffin is a terrible sandwich. Yeah, I guess uh cops pulled some guy over and you know he was a little sketchy. So they searched his vehicle and uh yeah, found a found a bunch of meth. Well, I don't know if it's a bunch. How much can he stuff inside of a McMuffin sandwich? Oh, 3.5 grams.

So, yeah. You know, when you walk into a house that cops are like watching, and then you come out with a McMuffin. They're probably gonna want to search the McMuffin, okay? I mean, generally if you buy a McMuffin, you walk into McDonald's to get it.

So, yeah, he's going away for a while. They said the uh food immediately stood out as suspicious. What a McMuffin that reeked of chemicals, yeah. That would be uh suspicious. Alright, what else do we have here? Oh poor poor San Francisco people. AI wealth is creating a mansion shortage and upending San Francisco's housing market.

Aww. What are they gonna do? What are they gonna do? You know, they got all this money and they can't they can't find a mansion.

It's it's just gotta be rough. Well, and I kind of glanced through this article, and they talked about starter homes in San Francisco. And you think the cost of living around here's like gotten pretty crappy, right?

Tell you read about the uh 1600 square foot home, starter home for an average family, San Francisco. Two million bucks. Jeez. Alright, well, good luck to them.

I hope they can find their mansions. Um, if you're traveling anytime soon, uh, airports are not the place to make any kind of jokes. They they don't find it funny. If you're checking in, you're at security and you're like, heh! Well, good luck finding my uh my grenade. Uh they're gonna drag you away and you're gonna go to jail. Uh guy arrested in Florida. After making that joke, they're like, Do you have any dangerous goods?

And he's like, nah, but just a grenade. Heh heh heh heh. So they brought in the dogs, didn't find anything, but yeah. Joking at the airport.

Uh crime. Don't do it. Uh, and then you're also delaying everybody else's flight. You're an irritant.

Okay. What else do we have here? Oh, they uh arrested the serial butt sniffer again. Um you remember this guy?

We talked about him before. Just wanders around and goes to stores and stuff and sniffs people's butts like a dog. Yeah, it's it's gross. And uh, yeah, he's been arrested for this before, but they got him again. You're gonna have to put this guy away for a while. He can't stop sniffing butts.

Alright. When you've been arrested multiple times for butt sniffing, I don't I don't know what you need to do. But they clearly have not taught this guy a lesson. He gets out and just starts sniffing butts again. Well, maybe he'll be away for a while this time. You know, stay safe in Glendale.

Little Kim Dracula. Wonder uh when that artist is going to tour again. I think Jade went and saw um I don't remember who who he was opening for, but I was definitely kinda bummed I missed out on that one.

What a strange artist. I would imagine a pretty good show. Pretty good live show. Let's go to the Kim Dracula website.

Check out those tour dates. Uh only one. Okay, that's a weird one. Haunted, Kim Dracula and Chris Angel. Uh at the Chris Angel Theater in Vegas. What are you gonna have music and magic? Huh.

That's interesting. Never seen Chris Angel live either. Only magic show I've seen, Penn and Teller, and it was great. Yeah, if you're ever in Vegas, you wanna check out a good show, go check out Penn and Teller. And they also do a meet and greet for just everybody after the show. So, uh very nice guys. You ever want to hear teller talk?

You can walk up to him and talk with them and get a photo. Yeah, pretty cool. All Alright. Well, uh, no Kim Dracula coming close here. I mean, Vegas isn't that far. It's a good eight-hour drive. It's not not the worst.

It's doable. But of course, we do have shows coming much closer, like Seven Dust and Theory of a Dead Man. We're giving away tickets all week. Make sure you're listening for back-to-back tracks from either band. And if you hear us play two in a row, be caller number 20, I'll hook you up with tickets, and I will put you into a drawing for meet and greets with Theory of a Dead Man. So yeah, make sure you're listening.

Peaches ain't here. So I gotta give all this stuff away all week. And I got a lot of tickets to give away.

So, good luck to you. Well, nothing like a little bit of doomsday talk on a Tuesday, eh? Yeah.

Let's talk about civilization ending natural disasters. Mmm. Fun stuff.

Where's my scary music here? Alright. Let's dive in. Talking about super volcanoes. We got one right next to us. Good old Yellowstone.

Well, a Cambridge University study has delivered a stark warning about the dangers the planet faces from a potential super volcano eruption, cautioning that the world is completely underestimating the threat. That's what we do around here, right? It's not gonna happen to us. Not gonna happen anytime soon. I've watched a lot of documentaries about what would happen to the world if uh Yellowstone blew up. Wouldn't be good. Wouldn't be good. Do you think we got problems with uh global supply chains and food and stuff now? Yeah. You ever uh read about the essentially nuclear winter that could take place, block out the sun, plants can't grow.

Even with Brondo. Sorry, I was reading another article about the movie Idiocracy. Need to go back and watch that again. Mike Judge. Yeah? Nostradamus.

Alright, so let's see here. This says governments pour hundreds of millions into preparing for asteroid strikes. Uh, but uh dedicate far fewer sources to volcanic eruption readiness.

But what what are you gonna do? I mean, you you monitor them, but if if one of these super volcanoes was gonna go off, what are what are they gonna do? Oh, this says Professor Stephen Hawking predicted the exact date of the apocalypse two weeks before his death. What did he predict? He uh says a gigantic ball of fire could destroy Earth sooner than expected. Okay, they said he gave a date.

I want to know the date. Um he says, unless humanity also alters its course by 2600, the Earth could transform into a massive fireball. Okay, so it we ain't gonna be around unless we uh have some some new technology to keep ourselves living a little bit longer.

So, oh, we don't need to worry about it, right? Alright, so they said an eruption 10 to 100 times more intense than the Tonga incident happens every 625 years. Uh that was an eruption on uh the island of Tonga, the more most forceful eruption ever recorded by modern instruments, and uh yeah, it killed a lot of people. Like a hundred thousand and uh caused global temperatures to plummet by one degree.

So imagine one hundred times stronger, we're all doomed. Um how many super volcanoes are there around the world? Like, we're all very familiar with with Yellowstone here. But I know we have others around the planet.

Let's find out here. How many super volcanoes are there in the world? Uh about 20.

20. I don't like the sound of that. Yeah.

That ups the odds, right? Alright, they say they uh only happen once every tens of thousands of years, and the most recent one was 27,000 years ago. Okay, well, that's more than tens of thousands.

That's almost three tens of thousands. Eh, we'll be fine. Just put your head in the sand. You know, it's always weird when somebody pops up in the news and you're like, oh I I know that guy, or I knew that guy. I went to school with that guy. Had a couple stories on East Idaho news that recently popped up with uh people I'm familiar with, or at least remember from school. And I I hate getting into local stories because people always know these people.

But just the older I get. Sometimes the stories are so ridiculous. I'm like, should I talk about this on air? And then I generally just pass, because like somebody was hurt in the story, and somebody'll take my words wrong and be like, they were making fun of that person.

You know, and it's like, no, the story's just ridiculous, so wanna share it. Um but I think I'm gonna pass. I think I'm gonna pass. I did send one, the most recent one, to the guys at last podcast on the left. I was like, all right, this would be good stuff for for side stories.

I saw somebody comment that and was like, you're right, and I have the I know how to get a hold of them. So um I think they usually film that show today. So maybe they'll get into that, and uh it'll be on side stories tomorrow. Uh last podcast on the left, you know, probably my favorite podcast. And this story is just uh right up the alley of uh that program. What do we got such weird things that happen around here? Like I guarantee this one is being talked about by radio stations uh all around the country.

Um, except right here. I'll go ahead and pass, but I'm like, man, that guy looked like things got rough after high school looking at that mug shot. Same age as me, making me feel pretty good about how I look. I look at myself, you know, generally and go just uh yuck. You were old and you look terrible.

You need some sleep, bro. But then I bump into other people from school, and I'm like, eh, not so bad. I'm looking pretty hot. Oh, geez. Yeah, may maybe as more details come out on this story. We will eventually talk about it. But um, yeah. Just go to East Idaho News and look for bad mugshot, shot, and you'll you'll know what I'm talking about.

Just weird. I remember this guy. The one thing that stands out about this guy is I think we were at the uh the mini dome for some school related function, and he was trying to get in a fight with somebody if I recall correct, and he just kept telling him, I'm gonna bust your chops. I'm gonna bust your chops. And I thought it was so funny.

Because he was just this little dude, and I'm a bust yo chops. Oh Ugh. Alright. right. Hey, we made it to nine o'clock.

That's a plus. Today's dragon. I'm I don't know. maybe I'll go get some more coffee. At least it's quiet around here. I mean, there's like nobody here. I don't know what's going on. I don't even know if Jade's here.

Only person I've seen all day, Justin. So yeah. Is it a day off that I just wasn't told about? Can we all go home?

I guess I gotta wait for Monday for that. Walks in and immediately starts yawning. Thanks. Thanks, buddy. Well, it's my Monday. On a Tuesday. Oh, those are the worst. We'll get one of those next week as well. Yeah, two weeks in a row of that. So lucky, man.

Speaker 3: Three-day work week this week. It's gonna be awesome. Are you off Friday too? Yep.

Speaker 1: Ah man. Probably.

Speaker 3: Well, it's more like a two and a half day work week because we're gonna go eat some delicious fair food.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Dude, this week's been uh I like I went like crazy working yesterday. Try to get ahead of the game. And uh totally forgot about uh fair food judging our faces.

Speaker 3: Is the weather supposed to be good that day? I think so. It's uh let's pull up the weather report for Blackfoot Idaho.

Speaker 3: It's only supposed to be uh crappy today and tomorrow, I thought. Okay.

Speaker 1: Well, good.

Speaker 3: I mean every day I recognize when I have to see your face, but well, yeah.

Speaker 1: It goes goes for you as well.

Speaker 3: Try and eat some fair food and try not to look at you so I don't throw up.

Speaker 1: Uh as long as it's not like scorching hot outside. It shouldn't be good.

Speaker 3: It should be great. Too bad. 76. Okay.

Speaker 1: That's looking pretty good and partly cloudy. Cool. All right. Well, hopefully they they hook us up with some good stuff.

Speaker 3: Me and you will just have to leave early so we can get the right table. Yeah. Because nothing's worse than sitting at the diabetic table. That's what we're gonna feed you. Nothing but sugar.

Speaker 1: That's what we got last year. I'm like, dude, I like ice cream. Give me a side of insulin. Can I have a burger, please?

Speaker 3: First year we did it. We didn't know when we sat at that table. Yeah. And then we were so full and we still needed to eat something to just even out the sugar.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and last year they said they weren't gonna do it that way, and that like everyone was gonna get some of everything or something. Yeah, but no, no, you're at the sweets table. I mean, there were there were some good sweets. Don't get me wrong. What was what were the highlights last year? There was that like chocolate Dubai cheesecake thing. Dubai chocolate cheesecake. I can't talk good.

Speaker 2: My name Victor, well, I don't talk too good.

Speaker 1: I don't talk good and stuff.

Speaker 3: Don't talk good. That was just getting ready for a fire and code. Oh, all right.

Speaker 1: Well, I guess uh I'm just gonna not eat for the next couple days.

Speaker 3: We gotta remember our to-go containers.

Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm definitely gonna have to bring uh stuff home and topperware. Yeah, I think last year I went to like the dollar store in Blackfoot on the way there. Like, dang it, I forgot my stuff. But yeah, should be good. We'll let you know what all the best fair foods are. Um, but yeah, hopefully some some new additions. You know, dude, some for some reason right now. I got thinking about I want some ice cream and I want some Mexican crazy corn. It's a weird combo. Like, fair food.

Get fat. That's right. Well, and last year, like, you know, we went to the actual fair on the final day at nighttime. That was a nightmare. Yeah. I recommend weekdays at the fair if you want my fair tips.

Speaker 3: When all the kids are in school. Yes.

Speaker 1: Uh, you know, the lines are much shorter to try to get food. I think I about had a panic attack and just was like, we gotta leave. I did. It's time to go. Like the crowd's too thick.

Gotta get out of here. There's too many people. Some days I'm just like, uh, I don't I don't know about crowds. It's funny because that's how I woke up feeling uh the day of the farmer's market. Like, I don't want to be around any people. Let's go to the most packed place in town and spend a few hours there.

It was good though. Thanking everybody who donated at the farmers market. Uh greatly appreciated. Uh, lots of listeners coming up and saying hello. And yeah, it was a pretty good time.

Good deal. So that's about all I got to report, Jade. And uh, as usual, I guess we're both tired. So I'm just gonna sit here and work on logs today.

Speaker 3: I already did some of that this morning too.

Speaker 1: Um music logs? Yes.

Speaker 3: Oh, okay. The other guy. Okay. Music logs are the best. I I didn't realize how much I missed doing music logs. Just fire up YouTube. Dude, so kick back.

Speaker 3: Mind-numbingly like resetting.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and it passes the time pretty quick. It's not bad at all.

Speaker 3: It's only bad when you're really, really tired and your eyeballs are doing the cross thing.

Speaker 1: Uh yeah. There have been times when I'm sitting at my desk and I'm like, oh, oh, I'm gonna nose off doing these logs. Dead does off. Well, and then I was trying to find I don't know why I'm talking about this on air, but you had those two different spreadsheets you wanted me to update, and I didn't finish one of them about like social stats, and I couldn't find the second one. I went looking for it yesterday, and it's just gone. I looked at all the ones shared with me. I searched for words like social stats. Maybe I should have tried stats. Statistics.

So I'll ask him about it tomorrow. Because that's more mind-numbing stuff. I can just sit there and just tune out. It'll be it'll be great. So all right. Well, do you want to hear some uh some heavy motionless and white Jay Davis? Yes. Okay. Jeez, you yap a lot. The time just blazing by. Three songs done. Cause I got the important stuffs. You got the important stuff.

Speaker 3: It's very captivating that way. You're just sucked in. You don't know what's going on with the rest of it. I know. I'm just sitting here going, uh Ugh. Dude, you make me tired. Make me sleepy.

Speaker 1: Meh. Meh. Uh I talked I talked about this a little bit earlier, but um, isn't it funny when you know people that are in the news that do something crazy? The guy I went to high school with made the news yesterday. Um In Pokey.

Speaker 3: In Pokey, the one that didn't look like he was 44. Yeah. Yeah. With that, I'm like, no way, that dude's 60.

Speaker 1: He always looked kind of like that, even when he was young. I mean, I didn't like know him, know him, but he'd be around sometimes. And I I told the story earlier that I remember being at the mini dome, and he was in an argument with somebody or something, and he just kept saying, I'll bust your chops!

I'll bust your chops! And it was so funny to play because he's just a little dude. Is it still funny now?

Yes. Didn't know he bust chops with uh we shouldn't, Joe. Yeah, you know, say that that's the the problem is with local stories.

Everybody knows these people. That's a sad event that happened, but it's it's a ridiculous story. I sent it to uh Ed and Henry at uh last podcast for side stories.

Speaker 3: All I saw was the initial story. I haven't read any updates.

Speaker 1: Uh the updated version is much wilder. Okay. So that there is an updated version that I saw at East Idaho News this morning.

Speaker 3: When I'm when I'm on vacation, I tend not to look at anything, which is why I got stuck in a hurricane once. Because I don't look at news or media or nothing.

Speaker 1: Let's go to Louisiana, and then all of a sudden, oh, there's a hurricane. Cool.

Speaker 1: Apparently, there's a hurricane forming off of the California coast right now. Yeah. Like, and that like never happens. Everything's great. You should have gone to Louisiana this year.

Speaker 3: So that that hurricane is what happened a couple of years ago on this weekend, this last weekend. Because landed on my anniversary with my my lady. Oh, that's right. That's right. On on the anniversary.

Speaker 1: Jade was our man on the streets. You know, getting that correspondence going on with East Idaho. News.

Speaker 3: I had all the memories pop up. I'm like, oh yeah. I remember that.

Speaker 1: Sounded so horrible.

Speaker 3: Actually, it wasn't too bad. The only part that sucked was kids had to start school that weekend. Oh. And we were stuck there for an extra four days. All right. Grandma. Just shrink it out, and I was like, it's hot. Whatever.

Speaker 1: See, I don't like hot. So I would have been cranky. I'm sure I would have been cranky with the uh no AC in Brahman. We gotta experience some gun fights. Gunfights.

Speaker 3: Trying to leave a city when 20 million other people are all trying to leave the same city.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it sounds not that fun, Jade.

Speaker 3: New Orleans smelled a lot better after Hurricane. I'll tell you that. Didn't smell like Fremont Street's swampy back alley. Got a bath.

Speaker 1: A nice cleansing. Thanks to Mother Earth. Because I have heard it's a smelly place. Oh yeah.

Speaker 3: You know what Vegas is like in like July when the sewer starts cooking. Yeah, it's like that with swamp.

Speaker 1: Oh, just muggy swamp and dookie. Yeah. Uh well. I got nothing else to say to you, dude.

Speaker 3: Get out of the Play way and play some music in. Shut up. I'm playing commercials. All right. Play the play the moneymakers.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and make sure you listen to these commercials. These are very, you know, loyal sponsors who make this station happen. You should listen to their ads and you should uh you know frequent their businesses. Yeah, go support them.

Listen to it right now. Hello, people. It's me, Victor Wilt. Welcome to the noon hour of madness and mayhem. Is it really only Tuesday? Jeez. Ugh.

I hope you're doing good. Peaches is out all week. I don't know where Jade is. Josh has been all busy.

Chaos around here. I've just been giving away tickets all morning. By the way, if you haven't entered the win, monster truck tickets or fair tickets in our app.

Uh, you should. You can fire up any of our three apps and enter to win those tickets. Because uh a lot of them are happening within the next few days. Fair is kicking off on Friday, so I gotta bend Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

We're gonna be closed Monday, so I gotta get rid of this stuff. And the only way you can win it is to play. So fire up the apps and enter to win. And if you're lucky, I just might call you. Plus, giving away tickets to Theory of the Dead Man and Seven Dust. Uh, here's another hint on uh fair tickets and monster truck tickets because Peaches is out. I'm giving away all Z103's tickets, so I am a ticket giving away machine today, and probably tomorrow. I'm not gonna get through all these today, but yeah, you could enter in the Z103 apps as well.

Z103, Vibes 103, and Throwback 103. Yeah, nothing beats uh going to the fair with a grandstand event ticket or a pair of them. Get you in, and then you got money to spend on that food. Heck yeah. So that's where I'm at right now.

I'm feeling a little uh frazzled. Our phone system requires me to put in this super long code every time I gotta call somebody. And for some reason, the just dialing the phone is cooking my brain today.

So it'll be nice when I get this program done and I can go. I I don't know, get a sandwich or something. I'm filling weak, people. Fill them weak. But uh, yeah, lots of prizes up for grabs this week. Keep listening to when sign up in the apps to win. It's the noon hour of madness in mayhem.

Almost called it the Victor Wilt Show, but I guess it is the Victor Wilt Show edition, because uh I don't got anybody hanging out in here with me right now. Uh, let's see, what's going on in the news? Oh, Peaches is out causing a ruckus in California. Multiple cars disabled with flat tires on the southbound 405 freeway, causing major traffic delays. And uh, yeah, apparently 12 cars had at least one flat tire because somebody chucked a four-foot metal rod into the road. You don't you wouldn't think just running over a rod would uh pop a tire.

I don't know, I guess at high enough speed, but did it have like nails sticking out of it or what? Peaches, you know? You don't gotta be causing a bunch of problems while you're on vacation. I'm already dealing with enough problems covering your work.

Jeez. Yeah, uh that sounds like it could potentially be deliberate. You know, somebody put the the steel pipe in the road to cause a ruckus to cause havoc.

Don't be a dirt bag and do that, okay? Like I don't know, I it could have just fell off a truck, but I've seen instances where people pop other people's tires, right? Like if you mysteriously find like three screws in your tire all in the same spot, and it happened in your driveway. Unless you've been building cabinets or something, somebody stuck those in your tire to ruin your day.

There are real pieces of garbage out there that do that kind of thing. Anyway, um hope my tires are doing good. Cause I need to drive to get a sandwich. Uh yeah, stay stay away from uh California while Peaches is there. Never know what's gonna go down. It's the noon hour of madness and mayhem. Howdy, people.

Party people, what's up? It's Victor Wilt. Jeez, there's a lot of chaos on the highways. I uh, you know, was looking at that story about the pipe in uh LA on the freeway.

We talked about it a little bit ago. Alligator on a Central Florida highway causing a chain reaction car crash. Uh somebody even passed away in that accident. That's terrible.

Um yeah. Guy saw a gator on the interstate, couldn't avoid it, hit the gator, and just caused a massive pile up. We are still in the middle of the 100 deadliest days of driving in Idaho. Keep that in mind as we roll into the holiday weekend, please. You know, be extra cautious. There's gonna be a lot of people out pulling campers. You know, if you are in front of somebody pulling a camper or behind them, taking or keep in mind they need to take extra time to break, they make wide turns, watch out for animals on the roadway, watch out for kids, just watch out for gators.

No, not gators. I guess you never know. You never know, but just you know, have a cautious and safe weekend. Want everybody to roll into work next Tuesday, doing good, okay.

What's up? It's Victor Wilt, and this is the noon hour of madness and mayhem. I know I was a little little low on the madness, but I mean you could be being driven to madness right now if you were waiting in line to get into Burning Man. I don't like waiting in line. I'm very impatient. And I just read that the line to get in is eight hours long. You ever been stuck in traffic for like 20 minutes? Yeah, imagine being stuck in traffic in the middle of the desert for eight hours. Just sitting there. Ugh.

I don't know. I I think I'm much too old to even consider attending that type of event. Forget the eight hours in line. I'm tired, people. Um tired. So, yeah, not gonna be going out and uh camping in the desert anytime soon, but just a heads up if you were heading that way. Uh get ready to to wait. I don't know, it it just started, right? How old's this article?

It's from yesterday. Okay, by last night, the lines had shortened to five hours long, so it's not as bad as it was. Ugh. Yeah, no, no lines for me.

Impatient. Uh, which is why, you know, I'm hungry. I've been mentioning this all all hour. I've been very impatient to go get a sandwich or something, and I'm gonna leave now, okay?

I'll see you tomorrow morning. Thank you again for tuning in to the Victor Wilt Show. This program's a production of River Bend Media Group. To contact the show or for more information, hit us up at Riverbend Media Group.com.
