Captain Suhail, are you sure about this? We've been flying for hours. My wings are aching.
Captain Suhail:Aye, young feathers, a true sailor never abandons a quest. The maps, the winds, and my impeccable instincts all point to a treasure most splendid.
Zaki:I can't believe you convinced me to join you on this treasure quest. A treasure so rare and valuable that we have to circle this island five times?
Captain Suhail:Treasure hunting requires patience, geeky friend. Now quit flapping about and focus. There she is, the treasure I've sought for years. A golden prize beyond measure, my dear man.
Zaki:Wait. This is the legendary treasure? Captain, this is just an apple.
Captain Suhail:A golden apple smart beaks. The finest rarest kind fit for a king.
Zaki:I don't know, captain. Something about this feels wrong, feels forbidden.
Captain Suhail:Forbidden? You worry too much, Zaki. Why, this reminds me of the time I, well, best not to speak of that incident.
Zaki:What did you do, captain?
Captain Suhail:Well, you see, long ago, there was a grand feast at the admiral's banquet. Tables lined with the finest delicacies from across the seas. And there sat a most magnificent golden pastry glistening under the candlelight, my good man. Let me guess. You couldn't resist?
Captain Suhail:Let's just say a seadog's appetite knows no bounds. I took one bite, just one, and the admiral's parrot, that blasted feathery traitor, squawked the alarm. Next thing I knew, the whole crew was after me.
Zaki:You got caught stealing food from your own admiral?
Captain Suhail:Aye, and they chased me clear across the docks. It was the fastest I've ever flapped. Lesson learned, if you must take a forbidden bite, be quicker than a parrot's tongue.
Zaki:Oh, brother. Let's just start the story.
Zaki:Meraj Digital presents the amazing stories with Zaki the Hoopoe. Episode 18, the forbidden fruit.
Zaki:Salam, my wonderful listeners. Welcome back to another amazing story. As always, I am your storytelling hoopoe bird, Zaki, here once again to take you on an incredible journey through time.
Captain Suhail:And I be your co navigator across these rough waters, captain Suhail.
Zaki:Co navigator? Not sure about that. We all heard about the golden apple, captain.
Captain Suhail:And a fine discovery it was, young Feathers.
Zaki:Moving on. Today, we're diving into a story about the first prophet, and in fact, the very first human, Adam. But he didn't start his journey here on Earth. Oh, no. He lived in a place beyond anything we can imagine called Juna.
Zaki:And he wasn't alone, he was with his wife Hawa. Now this place was a place of endless beauty, where there was no sadness, no hunger, only peace and joy. Do you remember when we talked about heaven in the story of prophet Idris? Heaven is what we call Junna, a beautiful place of reward from Allah for those who do good, and Adam and Hawa, they were the first to experience it. But, something happened, a mistake, a choice, and it changed everything.
Zaki:Long ago, before the world was like it is today, Allah created Adam, the first human. Adam was special because Allah gave him knowledge, the ability to think and make choices. And do you know where Adam lived? He lived in Juna, a paradise beyond imagination, full of rivers of milk and honey, delicious fruits, and endless beauty. And soon, Allah gave Adam a companion Hawa, so they could share this wonderful place together.
Zaki:Aye, the perfect life, a feast without end. What more could they want? Well, that's the thing, captain. There was one rule, just one. Allah told them, eat freely from everything in Junna, but do not go near this tree.
Captain Suhail:Oh, dear. I see where this is going.
Zaki:Now, every good story has a villain, right? The bad guy who causes all the trouble? Well, in this story, and actually in many stories, that villain is someone called Shaytan. But he wasn't always bad. So before we talk about what Shaytan did to Adam and Hawa, we need to understand who he was and why he was so determined to lead them to do something wrong.
Zaki:A very very very long time ago before Adam was even created, there was a being named Iblis. He wasn't an angel he was a jinn, created from fire that had no smoke. But here's the thing, jinns, unlike angels, have free will, which means that they could choose to do good things or to do bad things. Iblis worshiped Allah so much that he was allowed to live with the angels in Jannah.
Captain Suhail:So he was a noble lad then?
Zaki:We'll get to that. When Allah created Adam, he told all the angels to bow to Adam and all the angels did, all except Iblis. You see, Iblis thought he was better than Adam because he was made of fire, and Adam was only made from clay. Iblis thought he was greater than Adam. His pride made him disobey, and because of that, Allah kicked him out from Junna.
Captain Suhail:Bad move. Never go against the captain's orders, I always say.
Zaki:Exactly! Iblis, now called Shaytan, became mad and made a very bad promise. He said he would try to trick as many people as possible, making them doubt and pushing them to make wrong choices and not believe in Allah. And that's how he ended up in this story. Shaitan saw Adam and Hawa in a beautiful garden in Junah. They were close to the tree that Allah told them not to eat from.
Zaki:He changed how he looked so Adam and Hawa would not recognize him. He whispered to both of them saying, why do you think Allah doesn't want you to eat from this tree? Think about it. One bite, and you'll live forever. Powerful, like the angels, this is the tree of eternity.
Zaki:Eat, and join a kingdom that stretches beyond forever. Adam was standing there, staring at the tree. His heart was beating faster. He knew what Allah had told him. He knew that this tree was off limits.
Zaki:But now something new had entered his mind, doubt. What if what if Shaitan was right? What if this tree really could make him and Hawa live forever? What if they would become like the angels, powerful and wise? Was it possible that Allah was keeping something from them?
Zaki:Autumn turned to Hawa. She had the same look in her eyes. Uncertainty. Curiosity. They had never felt this before.
Zaki:Until now, everything had been certain, clear, and beautiful. But now, now there was a question they didn't have an answer to.
Captain Suhail:Horse feathers, a dangerous moment that one.
Zaki:Then as if to push them over the edge, Shaitan did something even more evil. He swore to them, I am your true friend, he said. I only want what's best for you. Adam hesitated. He looked at the tree again.
Zaki:The fruit looked so inviting. Could it really be that one bite would change everything? Would it truly make them wiser, stronger? Would it really let them stay in Juna forever? Adam took a deep breath.
Zaki:He reached out his hand. And then that's when he made his choice. With Hawa by by his side, Adam picked the fruit and took a bite.
Captain Suhail:Oh, laddie. You had one rule.
Zaki:And in that moment, everything changed. The peace of Junna faded. They felt exposed, ashamed, and then they heard Allah's voice. Allah knew what had happened. Adam and Hawwa felt deep sorrow, realizing they had been deceived, but they did not run away.
Zaki:Instead, they said sorry to Allah and asked for forgiveness with all their hearts. And because Allah is so kind and merciful, he forgave them. But because of their choice, they couldn't stay in Jannah anymore. They were sent to Earth. So, my little adventurers, what did we learn today?
Zaki:Every choice we make has consequences, but Allah's mercy is always greater. Adam and Hawa made a mistake, but when they asked for forgiveness, Allah forgave them. That's an important lesson for all of us. We should always turn back to Allah when we make mistakes. Now I know you're wondering, what happened to Adam and Hawa when they got to Earth?
Zaki:Well, that's a story for another day.
Captain Suhail:A good lesson indeed. And you know, young Feathers, perhaps I shouldn't be taking bites out of every shiny treasure I find.
Zaki:Wait. You were going to eat that golden apple?
Captain Suhail:Well, let's just say I've had a change of heart. This apple shall remain untouched, at least for now.
Zaki:Good choice, captain. Maybe this time you've actually learned your lesson.
Captain Suhail:Aye. Aye. But if he ever see a golden pastry again, well, let's just say no promises.
Zaki:Oh, captain. Anyway, my dear listeners, before we go, let me give you a little hint about our next adventure. It's about a very special boy, one chosen by Allah to perform incredible miracles. He healed the sick, brought comfort to people's hearts, and was one of the greatest messengers ever sent. Can you guess who he is?
Captain Suhail:Oh, a legendary figure, you say? Let me guess. Is it a famous sailor? A captain of grand ships?
Zaki:No, captain Sohail. It's prophet Issa, and we'll be learning all about him in our next episode. So stay tuned, my little adventurers. Until next time, keep being kind, making good choices, and always seeking the truth. Salam, and see you then.
Captain Suhail:And don't forget, if you see a golden pastry, take a second to think before you take a bite.
