Luminous Life Force with River Roaring

In this episode, I share the biggest secret in all of humanity at this time!

A lot of people talk about embodiment.
Not that many people share exactly how to cultivate it.

As they say .. thems that’re knowing ain’t sayin’ and thems that’re sayin’ ain’t knowin. 😉

I will share a sacred practice with you called Waking the Hands.
Experiencing sensation through the skin of my hands.
As a way to wake up the Direct Route of Pleasure.

We go over the Direct Route and the Indirect Route.

How we are taught to stop feeling sensations in our body.
How we become dependent on the external world for our pleasure.
And what that does to our sensual experiences and our relationships.

However, we can re-claim our pleasure and our authentic desire!

Drink in this episode and let’s all learn how to:

- feel sensations in our body
- live with embodied presence
- find our body’s desire
- and own our own pleasure!

Are you here on earth to remain caught up in your spreadsheet mind?
… Even when you’re trying to have a sexual experience? 😅

Or are you here to EXPERIENCE the present moment in your body?

And yes, I share a practice you can do today. ❤️

Speaker 1:

Hello, darling. This is River Roaring, celebrating the Luminous Life Force in us all. Hello, darling. This is River Roaring, and this episode is waking the body and why it matters. This is the biggest secret that I'm about to show you in what I believe the biggest secret for really all of humanity right now and especially in sex.

Speaker 1:

But this applies way outside the bedroom but it makes all the difference in the world inside the bedroom. In fact, lot of people talk about embodiment but almost nobody shows you exactly what that means and exactly how to get embodied. In addition, I feel like what I'm about to show you is by far the most important part of the Wheel of Consent, but the least known part of the Wheel of Consent body of work developed by Doctor. Betty Martin. So walk with me on this journey and see if you agree that this is a game changer, a life changer, that after you know this, you can't unknow it, and it makes all the difference in the world to how you live your life.

Speaker 1:

So before we get started, I want to celebrate that this podcast, Luminous Life Force, has been going now for one year. That's over 50 episodes. I guess it's 52 plus. So congratulations. If you have been with me on this journey, we have all been together.

Speaker 1:

And guess what? Our collective light by you hearing and watching and me speaking, our collective light in this Luminous Life Force podcast has reached into over 50 countries in the world so far. So I'm celebrating that today, and I'm celebrating you because you, as a listener, make this all possible and all worth it, and you breathe the life into this podcast. So thank you for being here, and let's jump in to what I believe is one of the most important secrets in all of human life right now. So to begin with, I just want to start by asking, why are you here on earth?

Speaker 1:

Why are you here on earth? Are you here on earth to live a anxiety filled, stress filled life where your thinking spreadsheet or mind is on overdrive and trying to figure out for you, is that how you're here to live life, including in sex so that when you're in the bedroom with your partner or even in self pleasure by yourself that you are in your mind, in your head, that you're thinking and maybe in anxiety? Or are you here to live your life in... Through your body, actually experiencing through your body and feeling life itself unfold. You know, some people say the mind plans, the heart knows.

Speaker 1:

And in this case, I'm gonna be talking about the mind and the thinking mind, and the body is like everything else than when my mind is quiet. So my darling, we have a little practice in the that we like to do called waking the hands. And what that means is we make ourselves very, very comfortable physically, hopefully lying down or fully reclining back, including the head leaning all the way back so that the body and muscle system is as relaxed as possible. Sink in to relaxation in any way you know how and let your mind quiet in any way you know how. And if you don't know how to do those things, this practice will help you do those things.

Speaker 1:

So when you're lounged back and relaxed, pick up an object, any object. I have a sharpie in my hand and feel the object. Just close your eyes and wake your hands up to feel in your hands the sensations of the object as you touch it. Breathing and noticing what your hands want to do with the object and what feels really delicious and what doesn't feel so exciting. And notice if all of your hands can notice the sensations in your hands.

Speaker 1:

This is a small practice that I want to come back to a little bit later, but right now I want to talk about why would that matter? Why would that be important? Why would me reclining and feeling an object with my hands and sensing into the sensations in my body that come from the feeling of the object in my hands and experiencing that inside my body without my thinking mind? Why would that be important? Let's take a little look.

Speaker 1:

So I'm gonna draw a very primitive drawing, I hope it means a lot to you. So if you're just listening to the podcast, I'm gonna put a picture up of what I draw as I give you this information on a... I'm drawing on a flip chart with a Sharpie, and if you're just listening, I'll describe what I'm drawing as well, and I'll also post a picture for you. So what we have here is I'm drawing a very simple body that's almost like a stick figure. The body has an arm and a hand sticking out with five fingers.

Speaker 1:

So we have this body with a hand sticking out, an arm. Did you know that the hand has more nerve endings than any other part of the body other than the genitals and lips? Here on the hand are many nerve endings and there's a set of neural connections that go straight from your hand through your body up to a part in your head and your brain that processes the information that your hand is touching something. So your hand reaches out to touch something, your nerve endings touch the object, and the neural connection travels through your body to a part in your brain where it processes that information. Right?

Speaker 1:

So simple so far. Right? So we call this the direct route of pleasure. The direct root of pleasure is directly in into my system and processes it as sensation, can be delightful when my thinking mind is off. Now this is all fine and simple.

Speaker 1:

Right? But... And in our delicious and delightful culture, there are many things that stop the physical sensation from the time we're born until we grow up into adults. So when I'm first born, my nerve endings are filling out in my body and within a month or two or so, I am fully feeling the world. So have you ever seen a one year old at a birthday party what happens with the cake that's in front of them?

Speaker 1:

Often the cake gets felt with their hands and smooshed over everywhere because it feels really good in their hands and little children will often touch your hair when you hold them and touch you and feel you. Because when we're tiny and little and our nerve endings grow in, we start to want to reach out and experience the whole world by touching and feeling it. And then what happens in our culture? This is not human nature. This is our culture right now we live in.

Speaker 1:

And I'm speaking about The United States culture, and I've had people in my workshop who've grown up in many different countries, and when they hear this, they say, Yeah, it's the same in our country. In our culture, a lot of things intervene that block our nerve endings from connecting in all the way. So for instance, if I were a young child and I were growing up and then I touched the stove and it hurt really bad, it would be a natural adaptation for me to stop feeling so much through my body, right? That would be a healthy adaptation the child would make. As you may know, when we're children, we're adapting to the world around us, whether it's a healthy world or non healthy world, and then we're picking up all these adaptations, right?

Speaker 1:

So the stove hurt my hand and I might stop wanting to feel things so much through my hands. And then what would be some other reasons in our society that a person growing up from zero on up to adulthood might actually, without thinking about it, might naturally pull back from feeling the world through the body and through the senses of the hands. What would be some things that might happen, some dynamics in our society that might stop us from feeling everything. If we think about it, we have injury from a like hot stove, right? What about shame?

Speaker 1:

Like, hey, you're not supposed to touch your yourself. Don't touch that. So all of the stop touching, don't touch everything, shame, it's bad to touch that. Stop touching that. It's bad, especially if you're touching parts of yourself your parents don't want you to touch or your caregivers or if you're touching someone else as a child or older and anybody caregiver or anyone shames that, then the natural reaction is to stop feeling so much.

Speaker 1:

What about gossip about you? Like, oh, they're really touchy. They're too touchy feely. They're too slutty. They're too pervy.

Speaker 1:

You know, all the gossips and rumors about people. Whenever we hear that growing up, we might be like, oh, I'm gonna stop feeling so much and touching so much. So gossip, shame, judgment. What about religion? Many people in my workshops where I talk about this are from Catholic school.

Speaker 1:

And in Catholic schools, they, in the past at least, have tended to physically discipline children through violence. So when a child is spanked, hit, or beaten for doing something wrong or not doing something wrong, the natural adaptation for the child is to stop feeling so much in my body, feeling sensations because it's not safe anymore. Now it hurts. So we have the different types of religion, the corporal punishment, if there was any spanking at school, spanking, or other beating and abuse of the body, right, physical abuse? Child is physically abused, the natural reaction is to stop feeling and sensing so much through the body, which is at that moment in time healthy, and then when we become adults, we don't grow out of it and we've stopped feeling the world.

Speaker 1:

So other things that stop us from feeling when we're growing up in this culture, we are taught to use our mind exclusively in the mainstream. So I was. I was taught, get good grades, and everything will be awesome, which I did get pretty good grades. And I was a trial attorney for over twenty years, so I was all up here, and everything wasn't awesome. However, for purposes of this practice, thinking, literally just thinking too much and putting an emphasis on thinking literally blocks my physical sensation pathways from my hand up to my brain, and I stop feeling and sensing the world around me and experiencing the world around me in my body and instead I'm in my mind which actually blocks physical sensation in the body.

Speaker 1:

All the thinking we do, which is a big category because that brings in all the anxiety, all the time that we spend in fear, all the sense of lack and fear, and the sense of needing to survival fear, all those fears are mental processes that literally block my senses. So if I'm in a sexual situation and I'm having lots of thinking and concerns like, Is my body gonna work right? Does my body look good? Do they like the touch? Do they like me?

Speaker 1:

These are all thinking, thinking, processing, and a lot of anxiety sometimes, and it's all blocking the physical sensation of the body because thinking just does that. Actually even giving meanings to things does that. When I'm like, Oh, there's a... I I wonder if this Sharpie is dried out or if it's brand new. I'm literally...

Speaker 1:

While I'm thinking that, I am not feeling my body and sensing it. So there are a few more things here that block sensation that I think are important. One, and there's many, many. This list goes on and on and on. When we're in a workshop together, we start naming them all together, and we have pretty much an unlimited list of things that block our sensation when we all throw in our ideas together.

Speaker 1:

And I want to name a couple more at least. One is circumcision. So do you think it might affect a child's life that in the first few moments they're chopped and cut in the genital area, which is for a boy the number one most nerve endings in the whole body, do you think it might affect the child's desire to feel the world through their body when in the first few minutes or day the child's cut in the part of their body that is the most sensitive of the entire body and that's just cut off. And that is also the part that has to do with arousal. So from then on, the organ that is the most involved with arousal and sexuality is now injured and different and has less sensation in it for the future.

Speaker 1:

Do you think that might affect a human being's natural instinct to feel everything in the world through their body? I think it does. That's my hypothesis. And another one that I think is so important for our world is boner shame. Boner shame.

Speaker 1:

What does that mean? It means that in our society it is so assumed that boners are bad and shameful and laughable and you get mocked about it if not criticized, if not fully shamed. So what that means is that half of our population is unable to move their body freely because they're afraid of getting a boner, and so they literally block the exuberance of their body by trying to not have a boner, I have to block my natural body movement in my most exuberant moments. And people who have boners let me know that they're not always connected to sexual arousal. Sometimes they're just there for other reasons, but this culture doesn't care.

Speaker 1:

This culture shames and mocks and laughs at a natural physical body movement for half of our population when they are joyful or exuberant or aroused. So if you are in a body that has boners, you're not allowed to do that in peace anywhere in your entire life. You're not allowed to have a strong erection and just live as a regular human and express yourself because your body's doing that. And it doesn't mean anything other than my body's moving and expressing itself. And the couple tragedies behind this are that the body and the mind and the emotions are connected.

Speaker 1:

They're not separate. So that means that men who would have an erection have to suppress their bodies almost 100% of the time and then they automatically have emotional suppression as a result so men don't get to think about sexual they don't get to be aroused throughout the day. Whereas I can be very aroused throughout the day. I could be very, very aroused right now as I speak to you and in the grocery store and as I go to the bank, and as I do my regular work in the day. I can be very aroused, so can all of my kind that doesn't get boners.

Speaker 1:

But if you get a boner, no arousal for you at all ever unless... And then to top it off, first, to top it off, it also is the mind. So you don't get to think about sex throughout the day, but I do. I get to think about whatever sexual fantasies I want all day long, including at the grocery store, including while I'm walking or driving around town, including every minute. I can think about sexual fantasy and arousing things all long, but half of the population doesn't get to do that because it's judged and shamed and it'll reflect in their body, so they have to keep it down.

Speaker 1:

And then what I get a little upset about, because I mostly work with men, is that men in general are generally criticized for not having a full range of emotion, which is astounding because we don't let them. And they also are criticized for not being creative in bed, which is astounding because we don't let them think about it. And probably, perhaps the worst injury and harm of boner shame is that then when it's time to have an erection quote unquote according to somebody, then if you don't have an erection really big, really hard for as long as someone says you're supposed to, you're broken. And so now you've been shamed with boner shame your entire life. You've learned to keep your body totally suppressed, probably the most important part of your body.

Speaker 1:

And then if you don't have immediate, hard, long lasting erection right when someone thinks you're supposed to, you're broken. And now you need, like, pills, potions, surgeries, counseling. You know? There are billion dollar industries built just to help a man get erect after he's been shamed all his life for having an erection. So boner shame is no small thing, and it affects society, and it means that we stop feeling.

Speaker 1:

So half the population has stopped their body from moving naturally, so stopped feeling everything, and then that affects the other half of the population because I would really love to meet a man who feels everything, but where are they? So I'm affected as well. So we're all affected by boner shame. We're all affected by circumcision. There actually has been female genital mutilation in The United States in recent times.

Speaker 1:

That's why we had to make a law against it in The U. S. If it weren't happening ever, we wouldn't have had to make a law against it in The United States, which we had to do to stop it. So we have all these ways that and there are so many more we could go on forever but I don't have forever to talk to you today so what other ways can you think of that come to your mind from your life that gave you messages as you grew up to stop feeling so much through your hands and your body and that gave you messages that it would be safer and better for you to stop touching and feeling so many things through your body. There are many, many sexual experiences early in life that can also do this, where someone is super shamed for touching things and judged and perhaps beaten for it.

Speaker 1:

And that really shuts the body from feeling things. So what happens here is that we're in a culture that has very, very unhealthy messages about touch and feeling things in the body. So as a child, we are born, we're wanting to feel everything, and then all of these things come upon us and we adapt by shutting down our natural sensations and feeling of things in our hands. And we have in this culture no rite of passage to bring us into adulthood where we can set up our own environments that are safer and we can hang out with people who don't shame us, and we can find other people to create an environment where it is safe to feel things. But where do we learn how to feel things again?

Speaker 1:

I don't know of anywhere we learn how to sense, touch, and feel things again than in this specific work. If you do, let me know where that is. But this isn't all to the story. Now on the flip chart, I'm drawing a second person over here, and this person is being touched. So there's another way to get pleasure other than directly through the human body, through my nerves, from the sense in the hand, through the nerve of the body into the brain and all internally in the body, sensing the pleasure.

Speaker 1:

There's another way to get pleasure, and that is when one person touches another person and that person goes, oh, nice. I like that. Oh, oh, yes. Yes. Oh, yes.

Speaker 1:

When the touching person sees and hears all those moans and groans and all that reaction, there's a root of pleasure that goes straight from the person who's reacting and smiling and moaning and groaning and straight into the eyeballs of the person who's touching. So this we call indirect pleasure root. The in indirect pleasure root. The indirect root of pleasure. So can you follow me on this?

Speaker 1:

The direct root of pleasure is when I touch something and the sensation comes into my body through my body because I touched it and I'm in touch with the sensation of it. The indirect root of pleasure is when I see and hear my partner moaning and groaning, and I am so happy. I have pleasure from that. It's nice. I like that.

Speaker 1:

I like it when you moan, darling. And indirect pleasure is not through my body. It's that I see and hear things from the external world, and I have pleasure from that. And that is a healthy and wonderful way to have pleasure. The indirect root of pleasure is healthy and wonderful.

Speaker 1:

It's wonderful and exciting, and I am saying it is great. So what is the problem with this setup if this person who's touching is blocked in their direct root of pleasure because of the way they grew up and all the people who told them, stop touching stuff and you're bad? And instead they're just focused on what they see from the other and hear from the other giving them pleasure. Excuse me. What happens?

Speaker 1:

What happens is this person who's touching is now dependent upon the indirect root of pleasure. So now the person who's touching, if they want to get pleasure, they need a reaction from you. Or if you're touching, in order to get pleasure, you need a reaction from them. So what happens when your pleasure depends upon the person who you're touching's reaction to that pleasure? What happens then?

Speaker 1:

A lot of things happen, my darling. What could happen here in this relationship if this person no longer has access to the direct root of pleasure through their body for all the reasons of our society and our culture, and they must have a reaction in order to have pleasure. What happens in the relationship between these two people? Anything come to mind for you? What about neediness?

Speaker 1:

Because now I need you to have pleasure or I won't have pleasure. What about dependence? Mhmm. Depending on you for my pleasure or else I'm not having fun. What about pressure?

Speaker 1:

You think the person who's being touched feels any pressure? Do you think it's noticeable when someone wants a reaction from you when you're in a sexual situation, a touch situation? Have you ever been in a touch situation with someone and you can tell they need a reaction from you? This is where pressure comes in because it is palpable. When I'm in a sexual situation and someone needs me to react a certain way, I can tell.

Speaker 1:

It's not invisible. I can tell, and it feels kinda shit in my body. And so this is also where performance comes in because I'm probably gonna start performing. This is where faking comes in. I'm going to start faking because I know what you want.

Speaker 1:

You want a reaction, and if I give you that reaction, this will be over with. That's where faking comes in. I'm giving you your reaction because I know you need it and I'm not having fun and I want this to stop. So here's your reactions although they are fake. And also this is where when I talk about performance, do you think the person who's touching is performing?

Speaker 1:

That's all they're doing. So the person who's touching is only performing. They only are trying to hit the buttons that worked last time, either with you or someone else. So the person who's touching doesn't have the internal sense of what feels awesome. They need the reaction from you, so they are literally searching for your buttons, which is also noticeable in a sexual situation.

Speaker 1:

Have you ever been with someone in a sexual situation where they are desperately searching for your pleasure buttons? I find that excruciating and very miserable of the place to be. So there can be desperation here. This is the definition of goal oriented sex because this person must have a reaction in order to have pleasure and fun. So there's a goal.

Speaker 1:

So this is the definition of goal oriented sex. I need to get somewhere, and where that is is, you need to be doing a certain thing. So we're going to get there, baby. That is a I'm sorry, but that is a really sad place to be in a sexual experience. And here's another thing this does is this is exactly where scripted sex comes in, because what else can it be?

Speaker 1:

It has to follow a script. It's not following the desire from the body. It's not following when I'm touching you this way. I'm not in my desire for you. There's actually no desire here other than desire for you to do something for me, which is not a great sexual setup, my love.

Speaker 1:

So also what comes in here is manipulation because if I know that you need a certain reaction and you know that you need me to react a certain way, we can both start manipulating one another. So what happens if this person is like... The person who's being touched is like, I'm not smiling today. I don't feel great, and I'm not going to do any any of the moans or groans or smiling or anything that you want, then the other person who wants and needs that for their pleasure might start some manipulation games, which are also buzz kills in sex. So manipulating each other.

Speaker 1:

What if the person being touched starts realizing, you know what? I know exactly how to dial this person's number. All I have to do is a few moans, groans, a little fake here, fake there, a little performance here and there, and I'll have a ring on it by tomorrow. I can get stuff by giving you the kind of pleasure you need, which is me performing for you. So manipulation can be bred here in this dynamic when the toucher has lost access to the direct route of pleasure in their body and they're now needing the external world to give them pleasure.

Speaker 1:

You're in a really tough place if you need the outside world to give you pleasure in this world we live in. So there are so many other ways that this dynamic is unhealthy and starts to breed arguments and awkwardness. Because another thing about this, it's guaranteed to be awkward. It's very awkward when someone's touching me just to try to get me to react somehow. It's very awkward.

Speaker 1:

I can totally notice that, and I'm like, I mean, in my life these days I'll just stop the situation. I'm not interested. And another thing here is inauthenticity because if the person who's touching is not just in pleasure and enjoying my body because it feels so good to them inside, in their body, their body's like, Oh, goddess, your body is just turning me all on today just by touching you and feeling my body have tingles and shivers and energy flowing through and arousal and heat in my body. If I'm not in that, but I'm in there like, Oh, how can I get your body to do some things so I'm happy? It's not authentic.

Speaker 1:

That's not authentic. That's trying to get something from the other person. So there's no authenticity. And I wanna say what happens when both people in this touch partnership? What happens when both people have lost the direct root of pleasure so they're unable to sense pleasure inside the body, instead need external world to give them the pleasure.

Speaker 1:

So both people in the partnership need each other to perform or react in certain ways in sex and in the bedroom or they won't have pleasure. When both people are in this, which is most people in our culture because we're not taught otherwise. So when most people get in bed, you have two people putting neediness, dependence, pressure, performing, possibly desperation for reaction, goal oriented, scripted moves that become repetitive and boring. No desire is even there because instead of desire in my body, instead of the desire from my body, it's desire to try to get something from you. And there's easily here manipulation, awkwardness to say the least, anxiety comes here because you're not smiling, you're not moaning, the same things that worked with you last time aren't working this time.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god. What do I do? Oh my gosh. The thing that worked on the girl yesterday isn't working on the girl today. What do I do?

Speaker 1:

And do you think there's a really hard, strong boner or arousal for either person and any person involved here if there's no sensations in the body? No. There's not. Guess what? Body reactions are not fully online because your direct root of pleasure is not on, so you're not inside the body reacting and sensing the touch.

Speaker 1:

So people wonder why am I not erect or why am I not wet? Because your body isn't participating. You're looking for reaction and that is not arousing. It's not the hottest level of arousing that you can get in the body. And that's what your genitals are waiting for.

Speaker 1:

They're waiting for you to bring them the hottest thing you can bring them today. And then they'll be very happy to be on board participating. So every single case I've ever, ever seen of what somebody thinks is erectile dysfunction, and I've been doing this professionally treating quote unquote erectile dysfunction, which I don't agree it's called that, but that's what people call it. I've been treating this professionally for fifteen years now, and I've never seen a case yet that was physically impossible to become erect. It's always about the internal processes, and I'm showing you that right now.

Speaker 1:

So this is a pretty sad situation that most of our society finds ourselves in when it comes to pleasure. There is no owning of my own pleasure here. Did you notice that? It's outsourced to the reactor, the person who can react to my my touch. That means if they're not in the mood, they're not around, I'm SOL, shit out of luck, because I don't get to have pleasure today or until the person is with me and until they perform the way I enjoy watching.

Speaker 1:

So this is a pretty sad situation because our culture has sort of beaten out of us the direct root of pleasure. For almost for everybody I've ever met in fifteen years of doing this work professionally, I have yet never met a person who had the direct root really on and pumping before we did this work together. So the good news is that this direct root of pleasure can be turned back on. We have neuroplasticity. We have nerves that science has now proven can grow back.

Speaker 1:

So the nerves that have been let go of and basically gotten a little bit dark and unused, those corners of the brain can be relit up. And I want to invite you to consider lighting up your direct root of pleasure inside your body so that when you get together with your partner and touch them, you're actually in charge of your own pleasure and you are able to enjoy their body for the beauty that comes through your body when you touch them. Most people are so closed down in the direct root of pleasure that when the first time they start to just simply touch an object, and we start with an object because it takes the other person out of the equation and you can't get too caught up on whether the Sharpie is moaning or not. So you just can't get too emotional on the Sharpie's reaction. You can use...

Speaker 1:

What's really great to use for this practice is like a pillow or a stuffed animal or like something yummy and soft and use something furry, use everything. But feel things with your hands that are inanimate so that you can practice opening the direct root of pleasure without being distracted by the indirect root and what the other person is doing or thinking. Then it's another level up once you have the direct root more open with objects and you know how to handle your own body in the direct route of pleasure, then it's a level up to then reach out and touch another person in the direct route of pleasure and not be distracted by their reactions or what they're doing, thinking, all that stuff. Just being in the exquisite, full bodied, embodied, sensually embodied experience of sensation on the skin, in the hands. So we call the practice waking the hands.

Speaker 1:

And I have just let you know how and why it's so important in our world today. And there's a practice you can do today to start waking your direct root of pleasure, and that is grab an object, any object. Doctor. Betty Martin likes to say, Go home and feel up your whole apartment. I can feel the wall right now and I have chills, chills running through my body right now because this wall is very beautiful.

Speaker 1:

Has a lovely texture. It's just wonderful. I'm having so much pleasure right now by feeling this wall, and I can jump over to the Sharpie, and it has a whole different set of things that happen inside my body when I touch this. And it's how we become embodied, and it's how we become sensual. So I have one little pro tip.

Speaker 1:

When we are waking our hands and reopening the direct root of pleasure that's inside you, that's waiting for you to feel it, to open to the highest levels of pleasure and bliss possible in the world, Once we start opening the direct route by touching an object, it's common that some of the memories and the emotional impacts from all the things that shut it down will might rise back up to the surface to be seen and felt. So if you are waking your hands by touching an object, you're leaning back or lying down, you're go back to the beginning of this podcast where I gave the little instructions to get really physically relaxed and start to sense things in your hands for the purpose of opening the nerve endings again. Over time, it may go from I don't feel anything at all, this is stupid and boring, which is how most people start, which is fine and natural. It also shows you it's not open yet. When you feel like this exercise is stupid and boring, you have the most opportunity to get things from it.

Speaker 1:

If you continue this practice, and I know people who've decided to do it every day for like ten minutes in the morning for six months. That will change your life. Feel stuff with your hands. And in that process, as you start doing it, you may have a memory surface from the things that shut that down. Be with that memory.

Speaker 1:

It means the practice is working, and you are successfully opening your direct root of pleasure. And now your body wants to actually process that meaning and process that experience from your youth or from a past time so that this root inside your body can open back up again. So be gentle with yourself. Be loving and caring. And if memories or emotions come through that are too big, put the object to the side and take care of yourself emotionally.

Speaker 1:

Give yourself some self love. See if you can be with what's rising up because this is a beautiful way to follow pleasure and to find desire. Once I start touching stuff and I open my direct root, I will notice, oh, actually, my hands really like this move, and I get chills all over my body. And when I do this move, not much happens, so I desire this move more. And my darling, did you notice what just happened?

Speaker 1:

I found desire from inside my body, not what I thought I wanted, not what someone else thought I wanted, not what would make someone else moan or groan, not what would get a reaction. I've found desire from inside my body. That's where your true desire lives. That's where your soul's desire lives. That's where your soul wants to express itself by feeling the whole universe around you.

Speaker 1:

And once you open this direct root, every day can be different. Way different outside the bedroom and inside the bedroom. When you're driving, feel your steering wheel. When you are making food, feel the food as you make it. When you're in your bed, feel the sheets and let the senses come into your body.

Speaker 1:

And the waking of the hands touching the object may start, as I said, with a, This is stupid. I don't even want to do it. And if you keep doing it, believe me, I and many others I've seen can have rolling full body orgasms, multiple rolling full body orgasms by touching objects and opening fully to the sensation and the magic that can happen inside my body when I open my direct root of pleasure and I can feel stuff again in my body. And that brings me back to the first question I asked. Why are you here on earth?

Speaker 1:

Are you here on earth to live by basically feeding on the external world around you and depending on it for your happiness and being in your mind and trying to figure everything out all the time because that is a very small way to live. Or are you here on earth to open your physical body and beingness to the powerful experiences that are available in pleasure, in desire inside your body so that your entire body walks around the universe feeling it, sensing it, feeling the air, feeling the sun, noticing what it feels like in my body when I see someone I love, feeling the chills of it, the sensations ripple through. I get chills so many times throughout the day through my body like, Wow! Look at that! This is the bedrock behind the Tantric ecstatic life.

Speaker 1:

In Tantra, if you go deep into it, you'll find out that they talk about living in orgasm, living inside of an orgasm all the time, ecstatic life. This is where it comes from. This is how you cultivate that. I actually don't know any other way to cultivate it. There are...

Speaker 1:

I am a certified Tantra practitioner. I have taken years, many... I know Tantra pretty well, both the Indian version and The United States Neo Tantra version. I'm a Taoist instructor including in sexual energy practices of the Tao. I'm familiar with the Toltec sexual energy practices.

Speaker 1:

I am understanding of a lot of the modalities of teaching of sexuality that are available to us right now. And there's no other way I know of in all of those teachings that will help you bring your body online for this lifetime than this and that will bring you the most sexual and sensual happiness, which includes authentic intimacy with another. I know of no practice that can bring you closer faster than waking your hands. So please consider today taking a few minutes, setting a timer because it's really best if you set time aside. Don't do anything else.

Speaker 1:

Lean back. Relax. There's a lot more behind this practice and these teachings. And in fact, this is a tiny peek into the very beginning of our weekend workshop together, and it is an official Wheel of Consent workshop. This tool is based specifically on the work of Doctor.

Speaker 1:

Betty Martin in the Wheel of Consent and in River Roaring's weekend workshop. This is our launching place, and we then take the weekend together in person. In my view of the universe, this weekend... This workshop must be in person so we can learn in person and touch stuff together in person, and I can give you direct transmission of the most beautiful body of work in sexuality or in all of life, one of the most important and powerful bodies of work I've ever come across. And I can help you retrain your body and practice these things in person with your body, learning new things, and this is only the beginning of the learnings.

Speaker 1:

This is a very beginning. It just touches the tip of the iceberg of what we cover in the weekend workshop. This is just where we begin. And also the opportunity to practice retraining your body with objects, and then you also have an opportunity in the workshop, in my weekend workshop with River Roaring. You also have an opportunity to touch another and practice these things with my experienced guidance.

Speaker 1:

I have been working with these tools, which this just touches the tip of the iceberg, and I've been working with these tools full time for fifteen years and giving this weekend small group in person workshop. Now for eight years, more times than anyone else has given this workshop in the world, have helped hundreds of people find their true pleasure and desire and own their own pleasure and walk through the world differently and definitely be different in sex. A completely different experience. So, my darling, please consider coming to Austin, Texas in person and joining us. If you are listening to this broadcast, you are here for a reason.
