Lots of... again, I think Dynamite's on a roll lately. I loved this week's show, I loved last week's show. I am really enjoying what they're doing right now.
I'm gonna preface all of this with I was paying attention, but not as much as usual, because I had two TVs going 'cause of game five of the World Series, which just spoiler alert, if you're watching my eyes and they dart down to the right, to my right anyway, that's because it's on the phone that's right here. Straight, you know. Anyway. So let's dive into this thing. Like I said, live from St. Louis. Let us begin, as we do, with checking the heat.

Let's run down this hot list here, which once again, good news for AEW is it's a lot of stuff.

On my hot list, the Death Riders versus the Cut. Even if I'm not wild about the name The Cut, I liked the match.

Look, I will say The Cut is better than the last outfit, which was the first thing they went with.

Yeah. It bums me out because I was really hoping that they could get some like I assume New Japan owns the IP for Bullet Club.

But I was hoping that maybe they could like license it like they did for a while when it was Bullet Club Gold before they were the Bang Bang Gang, because this should be the Bullet Club. Like it just it should be, but

The New Level Bro-Hango stuff I actually enjoyed, even though I've been ragging on it for multiple weeks. I actually enjoyed it. And I am still not fully in love with this story. But, you know, like again, on the scale of heat. Here, this has like maybe two of the little chili peppers next to it. But I liked it. And yeah. Yeah, I liked it. You know,

And that's I haven't been able to say that a lot lately. I just haven't.

Then the Don Callis promo I thought was quite good. And of course, Okada was great in it.

Know and I didn't look it up. I was just like, okay, whatever. She's just like I it was one of those things that I went, it's a reference that I don't get and that's fine. And then in the main event, Tony Schiavone mentioned it, and I went,

Okay, okay, okay. But I like the promo, particularly Britt. I am very happy. That my Ciampa Dragunov prediction is coming to fruition.

Okay. All right. I'm very curious about that now because I'm very happy with that. I liked everything after Marina versus Jobber Saint Jobber.

So dumb. Thought that whole match was great. The Blood and Guts promo because. Of Okada's picture where he's just going.
That's true. That's a good I skipped over that. I didn't even write it down, but that's true. That was tremendous.
I saw that I wasn't gonna write it down, but then I was like you, I was looking away and it was the promo and I happened to look up and just saw that and I was like All right, that's going on the hot list. Let's see if there's anything different. No, I liked everything. The Marina Mercedes thing that led to the Cut taking out Death Riders and Claudio. I like the two matches. Okay, hot list for me, without a doubt. Just having Queen Aminata and Persephone headline the show. That's great. That's great. Loved it. And the result. Very happy. Very happy.
Yep. I do have one addition to the hot list I almost forgot about. You mentioning the crowd reminded me. Shout out to my friend and former coworker Robbie, who was ringside, and I saw him on TV multiple times tonight. So that's on my hot list too. Yeah.

And let's talk about it. So first thing I noticed with Death Riders versus the Cut was kudos to Taz for trying to get the name The Cut Over. Yeah, good job. Good job, buddy.

I thought Danny Garcia looked really good in this one. Like I thought he got some legit offense in, and I was kind of worried he was only there to like pop the

Crowd a little bit and then eat the pin. So I was it was nice to see him get some offense in there.

Y you could tell like between him and Yuta who's getting who's getting the good stuff.

But I did find it interesting in the post match scrum that Yuta actually got a pop and Schiavone even called it out. And I gotta give him credit when he sat down in the chair, crossed his legs, and then just did the come on. I was like, that was actually pretty funny. That was good. That was good.
Yeah, that was really good. That's one of those little things that because it was he wasn't dead center when that happens, but when you see little things

Like that, it's like hats off to Wheeler Yuta for continuing to put in the work and make things like that because it's those little things that really just it just sends it to a different level. And I really appreciate that. I thought that was dope as heck. Loved it.
Yeah, I thought he did good there. So we're not getting a Blood and Guts match between these two groups, which you and I think thought were getting.

However, I think Anarchy in the Arena at Full Gear for these two groups is good. I have no problem with that. I think that makes a lot of sense.

Broke down afterwards, like this felt old school to me. This felt like when things were kind of just out there and wild and in the you know, in the territory days when like people would just come running up and beating hell out of each other. I and I just love that kind of thing. And I this just felt different. And again, I really like this clashing of these two groups. You know, just big groups that are just beating hell out of each other. And it just solidifies that the Death Riders, with you to get in a pop, you know, they're all faces now, man. They are just all over. So it's it's so good. Very happy with this match. This is this made my possible match of the night.
Yeah, I get that. It was definitely on my possible match of the night list. There are a couple that are on the list, as per usual, but
Yep. One of the other little things that I think is really fun to see is when Finley stepped on Mox's hand so he couldn't leave his corner. Again, a little bitty thing, so smart. Just makes him

Look like he's smarter than anyone in the ring and it Makes so much sense. Again, when you do little things that make sense, it's like, why aren't more people doing things like that? I just, so good. Love stuff like that.

Good stuff. Then we would get the video from Collision for Wrathlander declaring Blood and Guts along with Willow. And I really only point that out because it made the Blood and Guts match for the women officially for next week. So

We know we're getting that. Then Jack Perry and Kyle Fletcher would square off. And I didn't put it on the hot list, but I probably should have. Tony Schiavone, line of the night. And I quote, is there a rule for biting in the crotch?

And he's got that kind of thousand yard stare. It's great. Like, I know it's not real. I know it's not real, but I don't care. It's great. It sells the move so well

And sells so perfectly that here's this guy that's like Okay, that sucked. I need a minute. You know, like it's great. It's great. I love when he does that. He's he's really clicking on all cylinders. I mean, he pretty much always is, but I think he's been really, really good of late. But I loved this match. I'm with you. I thought it was a great match and I teased it. Yes, I did crown this my match of the night. I liked it that much. I thought it was really good. I thought Jack was competitive in it, which I wasn't entirely certain he was gonna be in the beginning of it. You know, because

Of the way that he's been losing a lot and he you know, he had some really good nonverbals in there too when he was kind of staggered and

Again kind of that dazed look but just stood in there and took shots. Like I really enjoyed it. I still don't have any idea where we're going with this with Jack Perry.

It's got my attention. It's got me a little bit intrigued. So that's a always a good thing for them. And like I said, this was a banger of a match. It's my match of the night.
Here's here's what has me intrigued and going, huh. And it involves Samoa Joe. Because A, Jack tried to use the muscle buster, didn't get it done. That's a ref yeah, and they even called it out. Using Joe's. But then at the end, in the aftermath, when Fletcher's being held up by the two goons, he says, I am the rightful, you know, I pinned the champ. I should be

The champ. I'm getting the shot. And I'm I'm and he's like, no one else should get it, or something like that. And I'm thinking, Joe said the same thing last week. I think Joe's gonna have a problem with that. So I don't know if Joe's

Gonna cost him the match at Full Gear, but I can't imagine Joe making that statement and being cool with Fletcher getting the shot before him. I just can't.
Yeah. And I had that thought. So in when I, you know, when they moved to that postmatch promo and he calls out Ospreay and he calls for the title shot. I actually wrote down it seems a little fast for that to me. And I know I know all the history between them. I get it. And I know it's going to be a great match. So I literally wrote down seems a little fast, but hey, why not? Right. But then I had this the that thought. I went, but wait a minute. It kind of felt like Joe was more in line for

The shot. And that's really what I thought were gonna get at Full Gear. So I'm I'm with you. Samoa Joe is going to play into this somehow. I'm just not sure how yet.

I did not realize that they were doing this tonight and not at Full Gear. I do kind of wish it had been at Full Gear. However, with how it would play itself out, I'm not mad at it. And we'll probably get the rematch there is my guess.

Then Ciampa came out to cut a promo, which I actually kind of liked. I like the version of him that he's kind of morphing into of like, yeah, he can do the goofy stuff, but he's also being a bit more serious and doing the whole like, I'm here to win championships and to show you that I am AEW's best signing ever, which when he said that I was like, Okay. And then I should have known exactly what was coming on his heels, but I didn't. And of course that was their most recent signing. Ilja Dragunov would come out and call him out and it's like I said when he debuted, I love this as the first feud for Dragunov and AEW. I think these two guys make a tremendous amount of sense together.
I love this too. But if you remember, this could have moved down to mild for me for two reasons. One, this should have happened last week, and I think the role should have been reversed. I think Ciampa, and I think even said it last week, Ciampa should have been the one to come out and confront Dragunov immediately. And been like, who do you think you are? I, you know. Because now it's this weird you have basically the overface being the aggressor and kind of doing the heel thing of you're not so bad. I'm the it felt like it was reversed, and that's my biggest issue with this is I just felt like because of how they're trying to pitch Ciampa right now, I think it felt like he should have been the one. Do it and I understand that Dragunov he's the guy you know I can beat anybody I'll take on anybody I'm the I'm the tough guy I get that I understand that I don't think having Ciampa do reverse the roles would have hurt his character in any way shape or form so that's my own and I know that's me nitpicking because I love the fact that we're gonna get it. I just wish we would have seen it last week and the roles reversed. That's all

Now is the perfect time for the Don Callis Family to start sniping titles. So that by the time the fallout from the Death Riders and the Cut starts to settle.
Those two factions will look up and be like, What the hell? The Don Callis Family potentially could have the world title, they could have the tag titles, they could have the TNT title.
Okada's got the international. Yep.
He's got the international title. So the only people without titles are RPG Vice and the Jet, but there's another title running around the Jet could grab. But I just thought in my head, I'm like, this makes so much sense. And for someone like Don Callis, it would make sense in this situation. Because the family's finally, they're back on the same page. Like I said, Death Riders and the Cut are just beating hell out of each other, which I love.
I don't know. I just thought in my head, in my little fantasy perfect world in wrestling head, that this was a slightly missed opportunity, but only for me in my head. I'm not saying they missed it for anyone else, but just in my head. No, I think it makes sense. I thought Josh should have won here. I didn't think he was gonna, but I thought he should. Yep.
