Facts
Big Thief – Born For Loving You
- A new cut from Adrian Lenker & company, a new single just out this weekend, with this being their 2nd release of the year after the rousing Vampire Empire that plays below my voice to give you a taste if not so familiar.
- Wondering if an album is on the way after last year’s absolutely stellar Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in you double LP, which earned the group two Grammy nominations, very deservingly so might we add.
Wilco – Cousin
- This is the title track to the Chicago-based band’s upcoming album, due out in 11 days’ time on September 29.
- The album is produced by Cate Le Bon, and is Jeff Tweedy & company’s 13th studio album.
Yot Club x Jordana – Safe House
- A nice collab track right there from two very much on-the-rise artists.
- Yot Club is the now NYC-based Mississippi native Ryan Kaiser, and the track is billed as something that’s been four years in the making between them.
The Beaches – Blame Brett
- An album that we’ve been very much excited about has finally dropped, and this is the opening track to the Blame My Ex LP which dropped Friday.
- This is certainly a band to watch out for that hails from Canada originally, but the look, the attitude, the chops, and the irreverent humor are all there to pave the way for stardom.
NewDad – Angel
- Another band to watch out for here, but across the pond as they say from North American, NewDad are an Irish band.
- This is a song inspired by feelings of euphoria, and will appear on their debut album Madra, which drops early next year.
Black Pumas – More Than A Love Song
- The Austin-based duo released this bright and infectious single admittedly on August 22, and the reaction has been electric although slow from yours truly.
- The band’s sophomore album Chronicles Of A Diamond drops everywhere on October 27, a proper close to a manic couple of months in music here in September and October.
Vagabon – Lexicon
- This is certainly an album that people have been excited about for a long time, as t/n Laetitia Tamko, the self-taught multi-instrumentalist who goes by Vagabon is out as of Friday with the much-anticipated Sorry I Haven’t Called LP, and that is how we’ll close things for the first fourth tonight.

Part 2
Mitski – My Love Mine All Mine
Mitski – Star
Cleo Sol – Self
Kishi Bashi – Red, White, and Blue
Sufjan Stevens – Will Anybody Ever Love Me
YONLAPA – INSOMNIA
YONLAPA – Let Me Go

Facts
Mitski – My Love Mine All Mine
Mitski – Star
- Anybody who’s been paying attention to music for the past 10 years or so will be familiar with Mitski, the Japanese-American indie star.
- However, the artist’s latest album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We is a brilliant piece of work and I would say easily the most consistent and high quality album of Mitski’s career to date.
- Go check it out, just a fabulous record.
Cleo Sol – Self
- Another gem of an album out this weekend was Cleo Sol’s latest titled Heaven.
- This would be the key voice in SAULT’s 3rd career studio album, put out by the ever mysterious Forever Living Originals imprint.
Kishi Bashi – Red, White, and Blue
- Always excited to see this artist back with new tunes, and this heralds a doozy of a project from Ken Ishibashi.
- This single is the lead to a new soundtrack coming out to the new Omoiyari Song Film, also produced and directed by the artist. The film and soundtrack are set for release on Nov 17. Omoiyari is Kishi Bashi’s fourth studio album from 2019, and the film sees the artist embark on a transformative journey to confront his heritage and reconcile the painful history of Japanese American incarceration during World War II.
Sufjan Stevens – Will Anybody Ever Love Me
- The latest teaser single to the upcoming tenth studio album from Stevens, due out on October 6.
- The album is called Javelin, and this tune has been very highly rated since release Friday, being rated as one of Pitchfork’s top picks.
YONLAPA – INSOMNIA
YONLAPA – Let Me Go
- Interesting band out of Thailand right here that just dropped a new album earlier this year is heading to Seoul on October 9.
- The intriguing aspect to this gig is that the venue is still secret, so curious to know what’s going on here. Good on the rise indie band out of Thailand, so do check if you get in the know.

Poppin Off!
Part 3
Sia – Gimme Love
Thirty Seconds to Mars – World On Fire
The Rolling Stones – Angry
The Beaches – Shower Beer
Teddy Swims – Some Things I’ll Never Know
Maren Morris – The Tree
Dan + Shay – Neon Cowgirl
Facts
Sia – Gimme Love
- Big news with this single over the weekend, as Sia has announced her first studio album in 8 years’ time.
- The follow-up to 2016’s This Is Acting is due out in Spring of next year and is titled Reasonable Woman.
Thirty Seconds to Mars – World On Fire
- As anticipated here on the show, the American band’s sixth studio album just dropped on Friday called It’s The End of The World But It’s a Beautiful Day.
- Very mixed to negative reviews thus far though, and to me largely unmemorable but we leave you to take the dive and judge for yourself.
The Rolling Stones – Angry
- As highlighted by Dan Lloyd on our AMPED weekly last Thursday, big new tune and video from Mick Jagger & company on this one.
- October 20 will see the band drop Hackney Diamonds, and this is easily their best new music since I’d say the 80’s.
The Beaches – Shower Beer
- Shout out to dear friend Chris Bleeker on this one, who did in fact teach me this was a thing and quite excellent if you’re in for a cool down.
- This is from the Canadian LA-based band’s new album Blame My Ex, which as mentioned just dropped Friday.
Teddy Swims – Some Things I’ll Never Know
- This tune is from the newly released debut album for the artist, who appears courtesy of Warner and hails from ATL.
- I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Part 1 is available everywhere now, so take the plunge if you like what’s coming up.
Maren Morris – The Tree
- Currently working on her fourth studio album, multi-award winning country and pop artist Maren Morris just dropped a new EP called The Bridge to sate the fans while they wait.
- This tune, produced by Jack Antonoff, is an expression of righteous anger and a liberating phase of the artist’s life that has developed over the past couple of years.
Dan + Shay – Neon Cowgirl

Fresh K Cuts
Part 4
JOHA – 방랑자
Moon Sujin – My Time
Say Sue Me – Mind is Light
Shin Hyeon-hui – MISHMASH
Dreamcatcher – BONVOYAGE (Farewell vers)
Car, the garden – Four Summers
Mingginyu – White night
Facts
JOHA – 방랑자
- From Vagabon to vagabond, which is how the Korean translates here, we have this new single.
- This is the work of t/n Park Su-jin, who formerly called herself as Greedy on SoundCloud, just a standalone single for now.
Moon Sujin – My Time
- Like JOHA previously played, this is an artist that used to simply call herself Moon and now goes by the name bestowed by her parents.
- Interesting standalone single and video, showing the artist bopping around London.
Say Sue Me – Mind is Light
- Honestly, so wrong that I’m playing this song just over two months since release, but had to do it sometime and better late than never.
- The Busan darlings who appear courtesy of Damnably are on tour in the States, and recently also played a fantastic live set on Seattle’s KEXP.
Shin Hyeon-hui – MISHMASH
- This is only the artist’s fourth single that just dropped last week using an obvious Barbie motif for the artwork.
- Definitely causing some waves to move over the weekend though, and this would be the female half of the now defunct SEENROOT duo.
Dreamcatcher – BONVOYAGE (Farewell vers)
- Last Thursday saw the Korean female septet drop a new English version of BONVOYAGE, which was a hit tune for the band previously.
- Expect more English versions of previous tunes to come from the group, as they teased it on sm earlier this year and this is only the first taste.
Car, the garden – Four Summers
- This is a K-indie favorite of ours t/n Cha Jung-won.
- Last week saw Cha drop a new album titled Harmony, which would be his fourth career album.
Mingginyu – White night
- This is a new standalone single from t/n Park Soo-jung, and funny we should end with this as we started with Park Soo-jin tonight in part 4.
- The artist started out as a Soundcloud phenomenon before going pro but staying independent, releasing her first single back in 2020.
