Do schools need more money because they need to change or do they need to change to show they need more money? When challenges about passing students in basic studies, school administrators point to low dollar contributions, are our educators only in business to make more money or teach children how to be successful in life?

Teaching was not individualized
in 2013, and proficiency
percentages were over 80%. In my
humble opinion, the problem with
education today is our
politicians need emergencies to
govern. They need the strife and
struggle to use as a wedge to
force voters to support spending
more money and increasing the
size of government. threatening
the success of your children is
a very powerful weapon. Welcome
to Idaho speaks a censor free
zone for conservative ideas.
With big tech and mainstream
media fighting to silence
conservatives. I decided to
create a communication channel
devoted to issues important to
Idahoans conservative Idahoans.
I'm not ashamed of my
conservative beliefs that I know
you are not either tune in each
week to hear local and state
issues and hear candidates
firsthand speak about how they
will represent you. The Idaho
voter. Idaho speaks where issues
take shape. Welcome to Idaho
speaks this summer's program is
shaping up to be very exciting.
I've been scheduling interviews
with dozens of political leaders
in the state of Idaho, and we'll
even be addressing some national
issues that impact Idaho farmers
and ranchers. Today, though, I
would like to talk a bit about
education. Over the next few
months, I'll be focusing heavily
on education mostly because I'm
fed up with the lack of progress
and preparing our kids to be
successful in the workforce.
You've heard me point out the
failing proficiency scores in
the schools throughout Idaho in
the areas of math and reading
comprehension. When challenged
administrators point to a high
graduation rate. Let me ask you,
listeners of Idaho speaks. Does
it make any sense to brag about
graduation rates if more than
half of the graduates are not
proficient in math, and reading?
Another popular excuse from
teachers and administrators is
they are hamstrung by parents
who are disengaged. I asked what
happened in 2014. Prior to 2014,
over 80% of students in Ohio in
Idaho, were proficient in math
and almost 90% were proficient
in reading. So what happened?
The parents in 2014 decide they
were done helping their kids. Or
could it be schools changed
something in the way they were
teaching reading, writing and
arithmetic? What is the more
likely reason for the massive
drop in performance? Parents
stopped caring, or schools broke
the system. Now the buzzword is
critical race theory. Apparently
kids cannot be successful
because of systemic racism.
Apparently America is so racist
that students can no longer
learn. But wait a minute. Let me
ask one more time. What happened
in 2014? Prior to 2014, more
than 80% of students in Idaho
were passing math proficiency
tests and almost 90% were
proficient in reading. If
America struggled with systemic
racism, wouldn't that hindrance
have been visible prior to 2014?
If America is holding kids back
because white people don't allow
minorities to learn, wouldn't
the math proficiency scores been
lower prior to 2014? If black
kids cannot learn in a room full
of white kids, then wooden
reading scores have been lower.
Going back before 2014. Let me
ask the very sensitive question
is charges of systemic racism
just a money grab our
politicians and school
administrators using racism as a
cudgel to secure more money.
During the latest school levee
campaigns, the proponents
pushing for the increased
funding pointed to Idaho being
the worst performing state when
it comes per student funding.
The national average is almost
twice as high. interesting
argument, but I feel it is
missing the mark. The challenge
is not how much we spend per
student. But how well we invest
the money received. One more
time, I'll point to 2014 and ask
what changed. Idaho has been
funding schools at about the
same per student funding levels
going back Well, before 2014.
Why did students perform so good
in 2013? At basically the same
current funding level. So my
wife and I moved here from
California don't hate us. So I
have a few more things to say
about the money question. We
lived in a modest three bedroom,
two bath house in the suburbs of
coralayne. Our 1900 square foot
home and CDA would sell today
for about $500,000. That is
surely a lot of money. But the
same house would sell for over a
million dollars in watsonville,
California where, where I grew
up as a kid. In fact, I sold my
home in watsonville, back in
2006, for over three quarters of
a million dollars, and it was a
little smaller and much older
than our current home. pointing
at the price for education in
one part of the country and
arguing you cannot do an
adequate job because our state
doesn't pay a similar amount
seems more like extortion than
reality. Let's look at the
living wage argument and compare
and contrast with education
funding. In San Francisco,
California, the cost of living
requires a single person to earn
around $90,000 a year to make
ends meet my coop Google, I
would suggest the minimum would
be a bit higher, but we'll go
with their numbers. The same
person living in Post Falls
would need about half as much to
make ends meet. is per student
spending a product of cost of
living or pay for performance?
are teachers holding parents
hostage for more money? Or they
will not try so hard with
teaching their children. Okay,
that last statement is going to
get me in some hot water. I can
already envision the letters of
complaint. Teachers throughout
America work in a thankless job
and value education very highly
and to accuse them have
demanding more money to teach is
downright respectful. Sure,
Probably so. But that would be
ignoring 2014 and the
precipitous drop in math and
reading proficiency. Sure today
in 2021, the cost of housing is
very expensive, but my wife and
I bought our home and CDA in
just 2016 for about $250,000 if
the cost of living was about
half of what it is today, back
in 2016. Then why did
proficiency scores drop.
educators and administrators are
now pushing for equity and
equality in education. They are
arguing students need a more
individualized teaching
experience to be successful. I'm
starting to sound like a broken
record. If individualized
education is required and our
schools are not yet implementing
this new education philosophy.
Then what happened in 2014.
Teaching was not individualized
in 2013 and proficiency
percentages were over 80%. In my
humble opinion, the problem with
education today is our
politicians need emergencies to
govern. They need the strife and

a very powerful weapon. Support
the equity and equality toolkit
or your children will fail in
school and will not succeed in
life. Support critical race
theory or your children will
fail in school and will not
succeed in life. Give the
schools more money or your
children will fail in school and
not succeed in life.
Having been a teacher in the
classroom, I can speak firsthand
to the dedication of the
frontline educator. The problem
isn't the teacher in the
classroom. It is the
administrators who have figured
out how to extort more money
from taxpayers and voters. The
problem are politicians who
campaign on your emotion to want
the very best for your child so
they can get elected to Office.
The cost of education is
skyrocketing no doubt. When I
attended college, I paid my own
way through college using my GI
Bill and working part time jobs.
At the end of the college, I had
no student debt. Today students
are finishing college with six
figure student loans. What
happened? Is the education today
that much better than what I
received 20 years ago. Based on
the proficiency scores, I'd say
no. So why so expensive? Because
you and I want the very best for
our children, and no amount of
taxpayer money is too much for
little Johnny and kids, sister
Sally. See how this works? Make
the education argument about
money, not performance, frame
the discussion around budgets
and societal failings and not
performance. Do not ever let the
argument settle on performance.
When they complain about
standardized test performance.

It's not about educating your
child. It's only about
increasing the size of
government and making more
money. Enough is enough. It is
time to take back the school
system. It is time for you to
run for school board. If
conservatives take a majority of
your local school board, then
you can end the politicization
of your child's education. If

your child's life in the hands
of people who care less about
