We continue praying through the Psalms, and today we come to Psalm one seventeen. Praise the Lord, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth, for his unfailing love for us is powerful. The Lord's faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:A short two verse Psalm that is a prayer encouraging both us and the nations to praise God. And this praise is rooted in a phrase that we see all throughout the Psalms for his unfailing love for us is powerful. God's, has said love, his covenant love, his faithful love. Right? This is a love that is unique in describing God's loyal commitment to you and I today.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:As we face, our various situations today, as we step into work, as we step into our families, as we step into dealing with our kids, we are reminded that in prayer right now in this moment, God's love for you and for me is a loyal love. He's committed to us. And what's unique about Psalm one seventeen is the Psalmist in this poetic way is praising God, yet also declaring to the nations that they too should praise God. Meaning that one day as we look into the future realizing that our faith today is future forward where one day all people of every tribe, tongue, nation will worship the Lord for his unfaithful love or his unfailing love. Excuse me.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Not his unfaithful love. His unfailing love. Right? And so there's a responsibility on us now to not just receive that love, but to declare it to the nations. To take it to people who are just like you and me, who need God's mercy, who need who need God's grace.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And this is especially true to realize that the world will praise God, not because they're good people, but because they're sinners just like you and me. Which means this invitation for you and I to go out into the world, to tell the nations to praise God is an invitation for us to draw close to people who maybe are very different from us, who maybe even we struggle to get along with. But yet it's God's loyal commitment to you that not only fills you up, but it sends us out to other people as well. And so Jesus, we hear you inviting us now in prayer to respond. First and foremost, God, we are grateful that you are loyal to us.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Your has said covenant love is loyal to us today. And so as maybe we step into situations that feel inconsistent, that don't last, we realize today, your love lasts forever. And would it lead us to courageously and kindly share your love with people today? And so Holy Spirit, would you now impress upon our hearts who needs to hear the good news that God loves them today? And would you lead us by your spirit to share that so that one day we will see the nations praising you for your love.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:We pray these things in Jesus name, amen.
