Dave [0:00:01]: You're listening to The Dave Gerhardt Show.
Dave [0:00:17]: Welcome, everybody.
Dave [0:00:18]: This is another one of our Exit Five live sessions we do these twice a month.
Dave [0:00:21]: And our whole thing here with Exit Five is to help you separate the signal from the noise and marketing.
Dave [0:00:26]: There's a lot more noise in ever right now with Ai.
Dave [0:00:29]: And everyone talking about what's really happening and what they're doing, but we bring the real because we focus on actual real live human marketers who have to do this for a living for their jobs.
Dave [0:00:38]: And today, this topic is all about...
Dave [0:00:41]: I love this title, how I built that agent.
Dave [0:00:43]: We have seven marketers here today.
Dave [0:00:45]: Every one of them has built an Ai agent that they're actually using this is not a hypothetical.
Dave [0:00:50]: These are actual in use agents that are doing things that these companies is not a demo, not a concept.
Dave [0:00:55]: This is a thing that actually runs.
Dave [0:00:56]: I'm joined by Dasha here.
Dave [0:00:58]: As I mentioned, my co-hosts and gonna be an awesome session action packed.
Dave [0:01:02]: I hope you're gonna fill your notebook with a bunch of ideas that you can actually take back with you today.
Dave [0:01:06]: But before we get into this session, I wanna give a quick shout out to our sponsor, the crew at optimize, great people?
Dave [0:01:12]: I know they just had an event of their own?
Dave [0:01:14]: I hear about Ai agents every single day on Linkedin and in the Exit Five community which platform should I be using.
Dave [0:01:19]: How do I do this?
Dave [0:01:20]: Which agents are actually worth building?
Dave [0:01:21]: How do I set this up There's a lot of noise out there and it's hard to tell who's actually gonna make your job easier versus just another tool that you have to manage.
Dave [0:01:28]: This is why optimize has their agent platform.
Dave [0:01:31]: It's built specifically for B2B marketers.
Dave [0:01:33]: You can build your own agents or pull from a directory of fifty plus pre built ones made just for marketing use cases.
Dave [0:01:38]: I love that all in one place.
Allen [0:01:40]: There's a lot of nuance and what we do
Dave [0:01:42]: is a job.
Dave [0:01:42]: It's, you.
Dave [0:01:42]: They also just launched virtual teammates.
Dave [0:01:44]: These are digital members of the team that learn over time can join your meeting as complete your tasks, support campaigns, Keep your website optimized heck?
Dave [0:01:52]: Where's my guy, Richard, maybe do drop off for the kids before this.
Dave [0:01:55]: A humans, of course, will still have the final say on everything that ships, but that's how virtual teammates works.
Dave [0:02:00]: This is something worth leaning into right now using Ai and a platform like optimize for the stuff that each your week so you get more time for strategic thinking and the actual fun parts of marketing, which is, I think why we all got into this job in the first place.
Dave [0:02:11]: Check it out, optimizeom/ExitFive.
Dave [0:02:14]: That's optimize.com/ExitFive Dasha.
Dave [0:02:17]: What's the format for for today Give everybody the rundown, please.
Maddy [0:02:21]: I'm so glad You asked.
Maddy [0:02:22]: This is exactly how today is gonna work today is a real battle.
Maddy [0:02:25]: Okay?
Maddy [0:02:26]: It is a competition of humans and the agents they have built.
Maddy [0:02:29]: You are gonna see two groups with a timer.
Maddy [0:02:32]: Okay?
Maddy [0:02:33]: This is gonna get really intense.
Maddy [0:02:34]: The first group is gonna have four marketers and four agents, then we're gonna vote, which market or an agent did you like best, which agent would be most helpful for your team.
Maddy [0:02:42]: Then we're gonna go into group two.
Maddy [0:02:44]: Two minutes, again, each presenter gets two minutes to demo their agent, vote for the one that you wanna see more of.
Maddy [0:02:51]: Because in the finals, you are gonna see the two marketers that won on their two minute pitch plus a third wild card.
Maddy [0:02:59]: And then we're gonna we're gonna vote for the ultimate winner.
Maddy [0:03:02]: And if you have questions as we go, which you probably will, please use the chat and someone likely, the human presenter is gonna answer them in the chat or in the community later?
Dave [0:03:12]: Yep.
Dave [0:03:12]: Good job Dash.
Dave [0:03:13]: So you're gonna take this.
Dave [0:03:14]: Give us a little definition before.
Dave [0:03:16]: Let's set let's sit the table, please?
Dave [0:03:17]: What is an Ai agent?
Dave [0:03:18]: I don't know.
Maddy [0:03:19]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:03:19]: What is an agent?
Maddy [0:03:20]: It's a good question.
Maddy [0:03:21]: First, I'm gonna review this definition that we pulled from Google Claude.
Maddy [0:03:24]: And then I'm gonna give you my own human definition.
Maddy [0:03:26]: So Ai agents are software systems that use Ai to pursue goals and complete tasks on behalf of users.
Maddy [0:03:33]: What does that mean?
Maddy [0:03:34]: A metaphor that I like to use is if chatting with Ai, like claude or Tragedy or g whatever you're using is like chatting with a smart consultant, then an agent is, like handing the consultant, Your computer access to all of your systems, and then just asking that consultant to go do work on your behalf.
Maddy [0:03:53]: So that's two definitions.
Maddy [0:03:55]: Take or leave it.
Maddy [0:03:56]: That's how I would define an agent.
Dave [0:03:58]: Yeah.
Dave [0:03:58]: You know, I'm gonna make a boomer joke.
Dave [0:03:59]: Even though I'm not a boomer.
Dave [0:04:00]: I'm at back in my day, You know what we call this stash, we call this in intern.
Maddy [0:04:05]: It's a smart intern.
Maddy [0:04:06]: Yes.
Maddy [0:04:07]: It it...
Maddy [0:04:07]: But the intern never sleeps.
Maddy [0:04:08]: It never goes on vacation.
Maddy [0:04:10]: It does not need washroom breaks, and you probably pay it a lot less.
Maddy [0:04:13]: But it consumes way more water.
Maddy [0:04:15]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:04:16]: It's always at other cooler.
Maddy [0:04:17]: And now...
Dave [0:04:18]: And and, look, we...
Dave [0:04:18]: So we did something cool.
Dave [0:04:19]: We surveyed.
Dave [0:04:20]: Thanks to our guy, Ben Reid and the growth team here at Exit Five.
Dave [0:04:23]: We did a survey because I think it's important to get a real look at what's going on here.
Dave [0:04:27]: Real quick.
Dave [0:04:27]: You know, we got a thousand people to respond to this and here's the headline for me.
Dave [0:04:32]: Despite what you read on Linkedin, fifty eight percent of you actually have either not built an agent or have tried but gotten in stock.
Dave [0:04:38]: Okay?
Dave [0:04:39]: So if you're feeling like you're behind, you're not.
Dave [0:04:42]: You're not alone in this That's exactly why we're doing this?
Dave [0:04:45]: I thought this was interesting.
Dave [0:04:46]: And then we got one more about a question here, but what stopped you from using agents more dash?
Maddy [0:04:53]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:04:53]: What the data showed is that seventy five percent of marketers just didn't know where to start.
Maddy [0:04:58]: Or didn't have time to learn, which great thing You're here.
Maddy [0:05:03]: You're in the room.
Maddy [0:05:03]: We can see you.
Maddy [0:05:04]: This is an hour where you're gonna learn all about agents.
Maddy [0:05:07]: So my recommendation, close Slack, close your email, actually commit yourself to this hour so that you can have that notebook of notes and go build your first or maybe your second epic agent I love that.
Dave [0:05:18]: I say that our at our event.
Dave [0:05:19]: Someone goes to our event.
Dave [0:05:20]: They're on their phone their whole time that that's the first person who's gonna go Linkedin.
Dave [0:05:23]: I went to Exit Five's event and it's sucked.
Dave [0:05:25]: I'm like, if you're here and you're paying attention, you're gonna get some value out of this.
Dave [0:05:28]: Alright.
Dave [0:05:29]: Let's get into the lineup.
Dave [0:05:30]: We got a bunch of different examples and an Ai chief of staff, agents that find your next big customer how to do one on ones.
Dave [0:05:36]: The slides are going everywhere right now.
Dave [0:05:38]: And, you know, after we go through all this lineup, this is not just for fun and games.
Dave [0:05:42]: Let me get the prizes slide.
Dave [0:05:43]: Let's hit the next one here.
Dave [0:05:44]: Because this is for clout.
Dave [0:05:45]: Right?
Dave [0:05:46]: Not only you get your name, We physically mail you a a handmade real trophy with your name on it, but you could featured in my newsletter, which is a big deal ask S how many Linkedin messages he got this week for being in that as part of one of these.
Dave [0:05:58]: And I'm ready.
Dave [0:06:00]: Enough of this small talk enough of the housekeeping, please?
Dave [0:06:02]: Can we bring up Sam?
Dave [0:06:03]: And can we get this thing off to the races here?
Dave [0:06:04]: Let's get it?
Richard [0:06:06]: So I'm Sam.
Richard [0:06:07]: Let me walk you all through the agent that I built.
Richard [0:06:09]: I wanna give a quick shout out to Hillary Grid lee, who built this website called five couch to five k for Ai, And this is where I took the inspiration.
Richard [0:06:18]: But the problem that I'm really solving here is that every time I start my day, I have to go through all my email.
Richard [0:06:25]: My previous Slacks.
Richard [0:06:25]: Think about all the meetings that I've been in.
Richard [0:06:27]: And I'm sort of sitting there for a good sometimes forty five minutes sometimes an hour, usually about half an hour every single day thinking about...
Richard [0:06:36]: Okay.
Richard [0:06:36]: What are my priorities for that day.
Richard [0:06:38]: What do I need to take care of.
Richard [0:06:39]: So what I built, using the couch to five k's inspiration is a chief of staff.
Richard [0:06:45]: This cheapest of staff learns about everybody I work with.
Richard [0:06:49]: It looks at my calendar.
Richard [0:06:50]: It looks at all my slacks.
Richard [0:06:52]: My emails.
Richard [0:06:53]: It also listens and reads all the transcripts from all my meetings.
Richard [0:06:55]: And it says, Sam, this is what you need to focus on.
Richard [0:06:58]: This is what you need to work on.
Richard [0:06:59]: Now it's not perfect.
Richard [0:07:00]: It doesn't always catch everything, so I do talk to it.
Richard [0:07:04]: I talk to it exactly the same way I wouldn't assist.
Richard [0:07:06]: And then it also helps me with prioritization So it's reminding me, hey, you've got a couple things that are due today.
Richard [0:07:12]: And I actually talked to this agent.
Richard [0:07:15]: But for the sake of the demo, I'm not gonna talk to the agent.
Richard [0:07:17]: I'm gonna just say, like, hey, give me a few times to put my head down today.
Richard [0:07:27]: What it's gonna do is it's gonna look at my calendar.
Richard [0:07:29]: It's gonna tell me this is what I recommend, and then I through this.
Richard [0:07:33]: I actually book on my calendar.
Richard [0:07:35]: So got thirty seconds left.
Richard [0:07:37]: What I wanted to use you all with is this is a smart system.
Richard [0:07:40]: It's actually learning behind the scenes.
Richard [0:07:42]: If you vote for me, I will share with you how I build this with Claude code, how it learns, and some of the systems that I put behind it.
Dave [0:07:52]: Nice.
Dave [0:07:52]: I love a personal use case.
Dave [0:07:54]: How can I use these things to make my day and life better?
Dave [0:07:57]: There it is.
Dave [0:07:57]: The tune officially branded Zoom out tune.
Dave [0:08:01]: Alright?
Dave [0:08:01]: It's good.
Dave [0:08:02]: I'm doing a lot right here.
Dave [0:08:03]: Gonna get a rate.
Dave [0:08:04]: I'm gonna give myself a raise after for this.
Dave [0:08:06]: I'm doing the timer or I'm minute.
Dave [0:08:07]: I'm in the chat.
Dave [0:08:08]: Like, there's a lot happening right now.
Dave [0:08:09]: Let's get our...
Dave [0:08:09]: Is that Allan, I can see you next Let's.
Maddy [0:08:11]: I promoted Dave this this time to be our our time gonna.
Maddy [0:08:14]: Congratulations dave If you're doing such a great job.
Maddy [0:08:16]: Our next presenter is Allan...
Maddy [0:08:18]: I'm He's gonna show us an agent that's gonna find your next big customer before your competitors deal.
Sam [0:08:25]: Up.
Sam [0:08:25]: I am Allen.
Sam [0:08:26]: I am director of marketing at recharge, former head of marketing at Sci was acquired by recharge and Today, I'm gonna talk to you about agent cool hunting.
Sam [0:08:38]: If you unfamiliar with the term, cool hunting as an idea coined in the late nineties where brands would pay scouts with great taste to go into a city and look at what cool kids we're doing and wearing and then give that information to corporate overlords so they could sell it to people in now dead mall stores and to Mtv.
Sam [0:08:59]: I love this idea.
Sam [0:09:01]: And I wanted to replicate it at work with robots.
Sam [0:09:04]: So I kinda did.
Sam [0:09:05]: You're unfamiliar with the Shopify ecosystem.
Sam [0:09:08]: There's like three million stores on Shopify, about fifty two thousand of them do more than a million in annual revenue, and everyone who sells software in this space cares about the top ten percent of that fifty two thousand.
Sam [0:09:22]: Everyone selling software is using the same tools for signals, usually something like store leads.
Sam [0:09:27]: And store leads is fine.
Sam [0:09:29]: It is directional accurate for established brands, but it sucks at uncovering interesting new brands, like groom.
Sam [0:09:37]: In twenty twenty three, store leads would not have told you anything about groom.
Sam [0:09:41]: And a few months ago they sold for one point two billion dollars.
Sam [0:09:44]: How do we find these brands before anybody else, the old Shady version was a Slack channel where people would dump Twitter links and they'd get a lot of rocket fire the thumbs up emoji, and then the no action was taken.
Sam [0:09:58]: The new way is my cool hunting agent.
Sam [0:10:00]: Every Tuesday, it scour newsletters, the next accounts and podcasts and Cb g directories.
Sam [0:10:05]: It looks for cool new brands.
Sam [0:10:07]: It writes a Dossier on why they could pop off.
Sam [0:10:09]: It serves it to my Bd.
Sam [0:10:10]: This week it found forty six.
Sam [0:10:12]: We are actively working twenty nine of them.
Sam [0:10:14]: And if you vote me through, I will show you how to find your next big customer too.
Dave [0:10:19]: Yeah.
Dave [0:10:19]: Dude, I love that.
Dave [0:10:20]: Great hook.
Dave [0:10:21]: I'm not I'm not gonna bias anyone, but great hook there.
Dave [0:10:23]: I think we need someone like, alec like a news jacking agent.
Dave [0:10:26]: Okay.
Dave [0:10:26]: We're off to a good start.
Dave [0:10:27]: Vibes are high.
Dave [0:10:28]: Maddie up next.
Dave [0:10:30]: Maddie senior content marketing manager at digital ocean, thirteen claude skills that can edit a draft before I do.
Dave [0:10:36]: I'm into that.
Dave [0:10:37]: Let's go Mad.
Dave [0:10:37]: Alec,
Chris [0:10:39]: Alright.
Chris [0:10:39]: So unlike some of the other agents you're gonna see today.
Chris [0:10:42]: This one is really bare bones.
Chris [0:10:43]: It's not very flashy.
Chris [0:10:45]: It's really about what it actually does at the end of the day.
Chris [0:10:49]: And so I built...
Chris [0:10:50]: Some agents in Zapier, Na then.
Chris [0:10:53]: You know, there's a lot of different ways that you can approach the process.
Chris [0:10:55]: But this one is one that you can build yourself in Quad without being a technical marketer or a code.
Chris [0:11:02]: So it's a series of quad skills, they're chained together to work as my content editor, and just to clear up the air.
Chris [0:11:09]: I definitely also edit things after running this.
Chris [0:11:13]: That's an important human touch that just, like, can't go away no matter how many ways that you try to work around it.
Chris [0:11:19]: So when an editor turns in a draft when I write a draft, this workflow runs it through everything that I used to check by hand is, like, the first step, So it's like, did it cover the brief?
Chris [0:11:28]: Does it match your style guide?
Chris [0:11:30]: Does it on I'm brand?
Chris [0:11:30]: Is it built to actually get found?
Chris [0:11:33]: And so that all on part matters a lot us right now at digital ocean, than most of what I'm personally writing are, like, competitor comparisons and alternatives pages.
Chris [0:11:42]: And so it's a type of content where a wrong claim is a real risk?
Chris [0:11:47]: And the proof that it's working, these are some selected results from some of those alternatives pages that I've been creating.
Chris [0:11:54]: And using this workflow is like that first editing chain.
Chris [0:11:58]: So, yeah, top profile citations and the tracked prompts, and top organic results within twenty four to forty eight hours of publishing.
Chris [0:12:05]: So it definitely works, but I haven't told you the hard part yet, which is how you get a dozen plus editor skills to work together instead of stepping on each other in the messy middle that I work through to get there.
Chris [0:12:16]: So that's round two.
Chris [0:12:17]: If you vote me through, then I'll show you how that works.
Maddy [0:12:21]: Alright.
Maddy [0:12:21]: We've got our final presenter in this cohort, and then we're gonna vote.
Maddy [0:12:27]: So get your thumb or...
Maddy [0:12:28]: Index finger or whatever you're gonna do to vote because it's almost that time.
Richard [0:12:32]: Hey, Everybody.
Richard [0:12:32]: It's really nice to meet you.
Richard [0:12:33]: I'm Richard.
Richard [0:12:34]: I am just so excited to be here it's my second time on, and and the first time was just so fun that I'm really glad to be here.
Richard [0:12:40]: I don't have any funny anecdotes this time.
Richard [0:12:42]: But I will say is that I'm very very excited to show you a suite of Linkedin at agents that takes all the busy and guest work out of managing Linkedin ads.
Richard [0:12:51]: I spent over two million dollars managing Linkedin ads.
Richard [0:12:53]: And I'll tell you what.
Richard [0:12:55]: I've wasted more ad spend that would care to admit.
Richard [0:12:57]: I think even the best media buyers that can run on Linkedin would tell you that it's so easy to waste them.
Richard [0:13:02]: It's easy to do it and not making manual bid adjustments quick enough.
Richard [0:13:06]: It it's easy to get drift in your audience targeting.
Richard [0:13:09]: One of the most prolific ways to waste spend, however, is in my opinion having poor and declining creative.
Richard [0:13:15]: Most ad channels will tell you that up to eighty percent of your ad performance is determined by the quality that creative that you run?
Richard [0:13:22]: It doesn't take as much into consideration in terms of, like, targeting, perfection or or bid perfection, but rather what are you doing to speak to your target audience.
Richard [0:13:30]: So my agent runs both headless and then also through a, design system on a on a living webpage page.
Richard [0:13:38]: It will go through and detect automatically creative reviews that fall within, like, a declining cycle.
Richard [0:13:44]: If a creative shows declining within a time period of four to six of those reviews.
Richard [0:13:49]: It will flag us being needed review.
Richard [0:13:51]: So that way, you're not jumping to fix something.
Richard [0:13:54]: It's not actually broken.
Richard [0:13:55]: And that way you're also not actually waiting too long to correct something.
Richard [0:13:59]: Then, these are fake ads.
Richard [0:14:01]: It's a demo state environment, but this is live for actual clients of mind.
Richard [0:14:04]: You can go ahead and get insights as to what's going poorly with the creative, give it instructions as to pre approved messaging guidelines as to how you can go ahead and fix it.
Richard [0:14:15]: Give have additional context of guidance, and generate a creative prompt that's ready to drop into any Ll of your choice.
Richard [0:14:22]: Vote for
Dave [0:14:23]: me, The job, Bridge richard just being a dad, battle elements out there still able to come in and and do a good job.
Dave [0:14:29]: Alright.
Dave [0:14:29]: So, my runner show says bill right now because we're gonna roll the poll.
Dave [0:14:33]: Somehow we have to vote already.
Dave [0:14:35]: And, look, I I saw the question the Chad.
Dave [0:14:37]: Aren't we gonna see the Ai agent.
Dave [0:14:38]: They got two minutes, man.
Dave [0:14:40]: It's like two slides are gonna give you an overview and then we're gonna vote which one you you wanted to learn from.
Dave [0:14:44]: Now this is not who's was the best?
Dave [0:14:46]: This is which workflow are you actually gonna try because then we're gonna bring them back up here.
Dave [0:14:51]: Now and and Dash, obviously, we can't get to all these.
Dave [0:14:53]: So we do have a more, a good call to action here, which is what.
Maddy [0:14:57]: Which is You should join the community.
Maddy [0:14:59]: If you are like, wow.
Maddy [0:15:00]: These speakers are freaking smart.
Maddy [0:15:02]: Well, guess what?
Maddy [0:15:03]: They hang out in the Exit Five community, so you should join the community, and then you can ask them more in...
Maddy [0:15:07]: Questions.
Maddy [0:15:08]: I have been able to reach out to so many people through the Exit Five community and just grab one on one time.
Maddy [0:15:14]: It's like, if you graduate and, like, you're all a matter supports you.
Maddy [0:15:18]: It's the same kind of feeling in there, Like, you're, like, all part of Exit Five
Dave [0:15:21]: when you?
Dave [0:15:21]: What what would that be like?
Dave [0:15:23]: I have no idea.
Dave [0:15:24]: So do we do you a winner here?
Dave [0:15:25]: Looks like matt.
Dave [0:15:26]: I'm not a not a big math guy, but it looks like Maddie, hundred and twelve of the three hundred and thirty two possible votes.
Dave [0:15:32]: That's pretty awesome.
Dave [0:15:33]: Okay.
Dave [0:15:34]: Maddie, thirteen claude skills to edit your first draft.
Dave [0:15:37]: We're gonna see more, but it's close Allen Finn chugging along.
Dave [0:15:40]: We don't know.
Dave [0:15:40]: There is a wild card.
Dave [0:15:41]: So we got one from this round one from the next round and then the third amount of votes, So keep voting.
Dave [0:15:45]: This does matter, and that's it.
Dave [0:15:48]: Let's end the poll or back up, play number five.
Dave [0:15:50]: We're back on the wagon here.
Dave [0:15:52]: This is...
Dave [0:15:52]: I'm sweating.
Dave [0:15:53]: I got the air on here.
Dave [0:15:55]: This is a tight, old vintage shirt smells really weird, but I'm wearing it today because I think it's cool and.
Maddy [0:16:00]: You got some compliments on the shirt in the chat.
Maddy [0:16:02]: Did you see that?
Dave [0:16:03]: Oh, no.
Dave [0:16:03]: Yeah.
Dave [0:16:03]: Yeah.
Dave [0:16:03]: That's
Maddy [0:16:04]: all good for...
Maddy [0:16:04]: Yeah.
Dave [0:16:05]: Made me feel good.
Dave [0:16:05]: Thank you.
Maddy [0:16:07]: Alright.
Maddy [0:16:07]: I'm about to start the timer or.
Maddy [0:16:08]: Little drum roll.
Shiran [0:16:11]: Okay.
Shiran [0:16:11]: So I...
Shiran [0:16:12]: I'm Sean.
Shiran [0:16:13]: I lead marketing.
Shiran [0:16:15]: And so unlike a lot of other agents are skills you're probably seeing online.
Shiran [0:16:20]: Whatever is my team or I build actually has to work, and it has to work in production because at the end of the day, I'm responsible for revenue, so I care about getting shit done.
Shiran [0:16:29]: One big problem that we have as an organization is generally that I am right now bottleneck.
Shiran [0:16:35]: Right?
Shiran [0:16:35]: Was a bottleneck between sales customer success and also our other teams.
Shiran [0:16:38]: So basically, if you can imagine, we have a horizontal platform.
Shiran [0:16:42]: There's a million personas use cases industries, like there's a lot of context have to sort through.
Shiran [0:16:46]: And basically, this informs a lot of the different things that we're doing, whether it's like marketing campaigns, outbound sequences, partnership collateral, and so on.
Shiran [0:16:54]: And so what I wanted to do was un myself, get out of, so I don't have to be the bottleneck across all of this, but also allow this to be something reliable.
Shiran [0:17:03]: So I've been building my own internal tools and systems for years, I've been working at automation platforms and I know that one of the biggest reasons that things are not working in production is primarily because the data is not right, and a lot of people don't know how to put those days into production.
Shiran [0:17:16]: So what I essentially built was a way to capture every single sale call from Fathom, which is where all of our data was living.
Shiran [0:17:23]: So I was the only one going into Fathom, and I cleaned and structured it within our own software database and then built an agent within Claude that actually is able to extract clear and precise quotes actual trends, actual reliable data, and then we have built agents that actually work on top of that.
Shiran [0:17:39]: So this is landing page agents, thought leadership ads, and also outbound messaging and so on.
Shiran [0:17:44]: And what's super cool is We have twelve members using it, A built in less than a week.
Shiran [0:17:49]: I think one important thing that I also forgot to mention is that we pre extract before we actually have it going into an agent.
Shiran [0:17:56]: So if you vote for me, I'll show you how it works.
Maddy [0:17:59]: Nice job.
Dave [0:18:00]: Customer research is hard doing this in two minutes is also hard, Sure on good job.
Dave [0:18:05]: We're happy to have you.
Maddy [0:18:06]: These also so good.
Maddy [0:18:07]: I want, like, an in...
Maddy [0:18:08]: Newsletter.
Dave [0:18:09]: Chris.
Dave [0:18:09]: Chris is up next.
Dave [0:18:11]: Look.
Dave [0:18:11]: I don't know this is such a niche thing, but Chris is high off of a big big res share from Dha earlier last week that I saw must have just skyrocketed his Linkedin.
Dave [0:18:19]: Now he's gonna show us a hundred buyers reacted to this home page in ninety seven seconds.
Dave [0:18:25]: Sorry.
Dave [0:18:25]: Good luck.
Dave [0:18:26]: Show me.
Richard [0:18:27]: We all know that customer search is hard.
Richard [0:18:28]: And even Ai gives us a unlimited options.
Richard [0:18:31]: We still need to do our customer research.
Richard [0:18:33]: Some of the challenges that I'm seeing with my clients and B2B teams are limited resources or limited access to customers or limited traffic.
Richard [0:18:41]: Or sometimes research take sage ages if you do with a consultancy.
Richard [0:18:45]: Sometimes we are not able to go as deep as we want or sometimes it's one and done, it can be consistent or regular, or it's also hard to scale well and easily.
Richard [0:18:56]: So how do we get that outside perspective that we need to actually be able to launch messaging in the works.
Richard [0:19:02]: This is the agent workflow that I built.
Richard [0:19:04]: So first, we give the agent a brain, which contains all our research data that anything that we already have, positioning messaging strategy, any decisions that would made, any gaps that we know we need to fill.
Richard [0:19:16]: Second is the agent access the brain and uses it to actually either produce copy if it doesn't have an existing copy that we feed.
Richard [0:19:25]: If we have existing copy, we can feed it to the agent.
Richard [0:19:28]: Third step is we test our messaging with Ai personas.
Richard [0:19:32]: So the way that I define personas is not just task To a, b my Is I augment Ai personas with real human data.
Richard [0:19:42]: And we'll give this the personas, the same message.
Richard [0:19:46]: The same questions, we divide into fit personas, influencer personas and even non fit buyers so that we can get as many perspectives as possible.
Richard [0:19:54]: The final step is we turn these responses into actual usable insights.
Richard [0:19:59]: So the agent gets the exact responses, groups them into patterns.
Richard [0:20:03]: We find what work what was confusing anything that we can test after.
Richard [0:20:08]: And the human in a loop actually makes the decision.
Richard [0:20:12]: One thing that I always say is when people say Ai writes swap copy.
Richard [0:20:15]: I always tell them.
Richard [0:20:16]: First, use research, use Ai I to understand your customers, then write copy with Ai.
Richard [0:20:22]: If you both for me, show an example on Exit Five home homepage.
Dave [0:20:26]: Good night.
Dave [0:20:26]: Idea.
Dave [0:20:26]: I got beat with the Ai stick this week, trying to work on my slides for for Drive.
Dave [0:20:31]: I'm gonna tell Dasha all about it in the future, but there's there's a learning there, Chris.
Dave [0:20:34]: Alright.
Dave [0:20:35]: We got one more.
Maddy [0:20:37]: Got Mc ke.
Dave [0:20:38]: Yeah.
Dave [0:20:38]: Let's do it.
Allen [0:20:40]: Okay.
Allen [0:20:40]: So I run optimize.com, basically, That's the easiest way to think about it, we have Cms experimentation, bunch of different things.
Allen [0:20:46]: We are B2B to company.
Allen [0:20:48]: We work with thousands of other companies.
Allen [0:20:50]: And one of the hardest things that we wanted to do was account based marketing.
Allen [0:20:54]: And if you're familiar with doing a account based marketing, that you might do, like, a one to many, one to few one to one program, but it costs a lot of time of resources to do, like, true one to one personalization.
Allen [0:21:05]: And it's hard to scale.
Allen [0:21:07]: So I basically created these couple agents that are...
Allen [0:21:10]: Running off of our Ic database in Salesforce.
Allen [0:21:13]: So you can see here, I've built a little search engine for it.
Allen [0:21:15]: You can see it's running for, like, twenty six hundred companies right now.
Allen [0:21:19]: And you can see the agent actually created the landing page based on a bunch of different data from Salesforce built with six cents, all the call transcripts that we've had with this company, and it's essentially built out this, like, custom landing page experience.
Allen [0:21:33]: Kind of talking about what they care about.
Allen [0:21:36]: And interestingly enough, like, companies literally put what they're investing in and their open Job Reps on their site, which is very fun.
Allen [0:21:41]: And, yeah, you can see here it's actually citing and sourcing stuff from our Cms as well, taking a screenshot of their site.
Allen [0:21:46]: And then my favorite part is because I know who I'm reaching out to.
Allen [0:21:50]: This is outbound.
Allen [0:21:51]: Right?
Allen [0:21:51]: I don't even need to show them a form.
Allen [0:21:53]: So this is my favorite part.
Allen [0:21:54]: I just wanna click on the lasers.
Allen [0:21:55]: But, yeah, We bring in a bunch of laser is essentially to in immediately paying a person on teams internally, letting them know that this company is interested in outreach, and then we can immediately book a meeting and as you can see, we immediately know who the owner is internally, so that makes it super powerful.
Allen [0:22:12]: And, yeah.
Allen [0:22:13]: We've run this.
Allen [0:22:14]: I think over fourteen thousand times at this point, and the agent has only had, like, I think it's hundred and twenty was last I counted, so I'd love to show you, like, how we...
Allen [0:22:23]: How we kind of pulled all of this off.
Allen [0:22:24]: But, yeah, It's kind of a cool experience that we built.
Dave [0:22:27]: Okay.
Dave [0:22:27]: So that's the first round, but, look, I just wanna I wanna back something up.
Dave [0:22:30]: I wanna show you I'm a man of action here Last week, or two weeks ago, we did this little shout thing where I I said, hey, man.
Dave [0:22:38]: There's a lot of podcast fans.
Dave [0:22:39]: A lot of people who listen to our show here.
Dave [0:22:40]: On Exit Five live.
Dave [0:22:42]: Can you go and post on Linkedin take a screenshot about it.
Dave [0:22:45]: Dash.
Dave [0:22:46]: I'm supposed to shout someone out here, but I absolutely cannot see it's in tiny micro and Gotcha.
Dave [0:22:51]: So you got me.
Dave [0:22:52]: Alright.
Dave [0:22:52]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:22:53]: I got you.
Maddy [0:22:54]: Alright.
Maddy [0:22:54]: Tyler Howard.

Maddy [0:23:18]: Thank you for listening to the show.
Maddy [0:23:20]: Thank you for the lovely screenshot.

Dave [0:23:24]: Appreciate that.
Dave [0:23:25]: And, you know, just real people shout now real people and carrie Pierce the travis.
Dave [0:23:28]: Are we really gonna have time to go through the presentations.
Dave [0:23:31]: Well, yeah, girl.
Dave [0:23:31]: We got thirty minutes left.
Dave [0:23:32]: We got a whole plan here.
Dave [0:23:33]: This is a real production.
Dave [0:23:34]: You'll see if you don't like it, you can leave me a review.
Dave [0:23:37]: After, but shout out to all you, but we got a surprise guest.
Dave [0:23:40]: This just in.
Dave [0:23:41]: Oh, now we're throwing a Marissa says pole pull poll.
Dave [0:23:44]: Are we doing the pole pole poll?
Dave [0:23:45]: Or are we doing surprise guess We're gonna do...
Dave [0:23:47]: Do the poll.
Dave [0:23:48]: We gotta here.
Dave [0:23:49]: So of the second round, of those three that you just saw, Who are you gonna vote to the next round?
Dave [0:23:54]: Who are you gonna vote?
Dave [0:23:55]: Who are you gonna vote?
Dave [0:23:56]: You know, who's gonna be joining?
Dave [0:23:58]: Maddie out there.
Dave [0:23:59]: Maybe Allen Finn gonna be the wildcard card from the first round?
Dave [0:24:02]: Maybe one of these?
Dave [0:24:03]: Wow, overwhelmingly mister Lasers.
Dave [0:24:06]: I think it was the lasers, honestly, that that did it for us, mis how do I I can't say his name.
Dave [0:24:12]: Can you say He field.
Dave [0:24:13]: Yeah.
Dave [0:24:14]: There you
Ben [0:24:15]: go.
Dave [0:24:16]: I'm I'm a jew.
Dave [0:24:16]: I have that I have that Hey feel I have that.
Dave [0:24:19]: I got that.
Dave [0:24:19]: So hill.
Maddy [0:24:21]: Not required for this name.
Dave [0:24:23]: Not required.
Dave [0:24:23]: Certainly not required.
Dave [0:24:24]: No no problem.
Dave [0:24:25]: Where we welcome all here.
Dave [0:24:27]: Love this.
Dave [0:24:27]: Okay.
Dave [0:24:28]: Overwhelming amount of both, And then do we have this...
Dave [0:24:30]: Hey, Okay.
Dave [0:24:31]: Producers are my year rolling and surprised guest, him up, send them up, get the surprise guest on stage.
Dave [0:24:36]: What do you know?
Dave [0:24:37]: Ladies and gentlemen, Exit Fives very own growth guy with a bonus agent, mister Ben reid.
Dave [0:24:43]: Welcome to the show.
Ben [0:24:44]: Yeah I'd be here.
Ben [0:24:45]: I if you wanna just go right into it.
Dave [0:24:47]: We do, man.
Dave [0:24:48]: Let's go.
Dave [0:24:48]: You're And you filled up these books shelves last night for, you know, to be here.
Dave [0:24:52]: So let's do it.
Ben [0:24:53]: Yeah.
Ben [0:24:53]: So I'm am a big believer in learning.
Ben [0:24:55]: I try and follow as many of news I'm silicon can.
Ben [0:24:57]: Problem is now I've got way getting notifications, switch many newsletters.
Ben [0:25:01]: So I'd like to consume knowledge, but there's no time.
Ben [0:25:05]: So I created an agent that was going to help me just digest that.
Ben [0:25:10]: So it's going into phases this is how we've built it.
Ben [0:25:13]: Phase one.
Ben [0:25:13]: Was just hey agent that would read my stuff back me day.
Ben [0:25:17]: I like, like, hey.
Ben [0:25:18]: Here's what you missed.
Ben [0:25:19]: There's all this noise.
Ben [0:25:20]: Take a look at these five.
Ben [0:25:22]: So sounds was really cool.
Ben [0:25:23]: It scanned everything.
Ben [0:25:23]: It goes over the weekends.
Ben [0:25:25]: Does all this stuff.
Ben [0:25:26]: But then I wanted to go a little bit deeper with that, so I, updated the d file, made it beg to where I was like, alright.
Ben [0:25:34]: There's a lot of areas of growth marketing.
Ben [0:25:37]: So I set up this way of, like, alright.
Ben [0:25:39]: Monday.
Ben [0:25:39]: Gonna give me a rundown about growth marketing Tuesday and rundown about Paid ads, Wednesday, strategy, SEO, wildcard, that's of the.
Ben [0:25:47]: So every day, it's scanning my subs back.
Ben [0:25:49]: Finding the lessons that I need to do.
Ben [0:25:50]: It's not just saying and like, hey.
Ben [0:25:52]: Here's a popular post, but it's saying, like, based on what I know you're working on from our other conversations and where you want to be, This is the learning you to have.
Ben [0:26:01]: So just give me that digest of.
Ben [0:26:03]: Now like, check out this newsletter, but, like, here's the end takeaway.
Ben [0:26:07]: And I will preface.
Ben [0:26:08]: Like, I'm gonna make it where you can't do this with the Exit Five newsletter because you do need to be reading that, Tuesday Thursday and possibly more.
Ben [0:26:15]: But so it went from there to now.
Ben [0:26:18]: Oh, and then with it, use the tool res send.
Ben [0:26:20]: It does free emails, so it's like...
Ben [0:26:22]: This isn't just in my clock.
Ben [0:26:24]: I'm getting an email every morning of here's your takeaways.
Ben [0:26:26]: But not made even better.
Ben [0:26:28]: Thanks to another tool called Ear cast that takes any article newsletter goes to your inbox and it creates a podcast.
Ben [0:26:36]: So now I actually have a podcast just for myself, so I don't care how it sounds.
Ben [0:26:40]: But I can go on Spotify, find growth marketing rundown, and everyday, listen to my Here's my five lessons for the day.
Ben [0:26:48]: Just as I'm on my walk.
Ben [0:26:49]: It's Been a little thing.
Ben [0:26:50]: So that's the fun thing.
Ben [0:26:52]: Lastly, follow me on Linkedin so I can win this contest.
Dave [0:26:56]: You should have a qr code.
Dave [0:26:57]: Alright.
Dave [0:26:58]: Go follow growth guy Ben handmade those shelves in his in his background too.
Dave [0:27:02]: So...
Dave [0:27:02]: Alright.
Dave [0:27:03]: We're back.
Dave [0:27:03]: So we got three people.
Dave [0:27:04]: We can't give them all too.
Dave [0:27:05]: But look, we do...
Dave [0:27:06]: I do see your chats.
Dave [0:27:07]: We are a content business.
Dave [0:27:08]: We take all of the feedback and signals from these, and we're gonna find ways to give you more of these plays, have people break them down whether it's in the newsletter podcast webinar.
Dave [0:27:16]: Stick with us.
Dave [0:27:17]: We got your back.
Dave [0:27:18]: Let's bring up Maddie.
Dave [0:27:18]: So we got double the amount of time.
Dave [0:27:20]: We got four minutes here, and now we're gonna take a little bit of a deeper dive into each one of these agents, and let's kick it off with back to you, Maddie.
Chris [0:27:30]: Alright.
Chris [0:27:30]: Sounds great.
Chris [0:27:31]: Thank you for voting for me.
Chris [0:27:32]: Exciting to share my agent a little more in endeavors.
Chris [0:27:35]: So this is the messy middle part.
Chris [0:27:36]: And as many of you know, content guidelines aren't tidy.
Chris [0:27:40]: There are a lot of different.
Chris [0:27:41]: Pieces that you have to change together the style guide, your brand positioning SEO guidelines, legal, guidelines.
Chris [0:27:47]: How you talk about the competition, and they're not always in agreement with each other.
Chris [0:27:52]: So that's part of the problem.
Chris [0:27:53]: And, you know, ultimately, it's really not a technology problem.
Chris [0:27:57]: It's us humans and the fact that we have Google docs and confluence and notion.
Chris [0:28:02]: You know, everything's living in all these different places.
Chris [0:28:04]: So how do we kind of bring it together in a way that makes sense where they're not talking over each other?
Chris [0:28:09]: They're just handling whatever the most important job is?
Chris [0:28:12]: So the skill chain is really just me getting that all out of my head out of these documents that, you know, I probably know better than, like, the writers I asked to use them.
Chris [0:28:23]: And you also notice that the number of skills change since...
Chris [0:28:26]: I pitched this agent because I add a new one at least every week.
Chris [0:28:30]: And that's that's just me coming across this problem and trying to solve it.
Chris [0:28:33]: So I wanna zoom in on a couple of the skills just to give you a little bit of a deeper dive into what they actually are.
Chris [0:28:40]: This first one is a reader advocate checker, and it basically reads the draft kind of the same way in uninformed human would at digital ocean, we're dealing with a lot of more technical concepts.
Chris [0:28:51]: And so I just wanna make sure even though our audience is developers that the terminology makes sense to them, especially if it is more of, like, a new Ai type term.
Chris [0:29:01]: And so it looks at it kind of as an editor on behalf of the reader, if flags what a reader would actually stumble on, maybe like, a concept that's mentioned mention, but never explained or an acronym that isn't stalled out or even like a claim the piece raises and then just drops without closing the loop.
Chris [0:29:17]: So next we have what I call the fidelity checkers, brief fidelity outlined fidelity.
Chris [0:29:22]: Guideline fidelity.
Chris [0:29:24]: We have all these documents we've already created and we've already infused, you know, with the important details, but basically, like, did everything that we agreed this piece actually needs to cover, make it into the final draft that we're planning to publish.
Chris [0:29:37]: So this used to be one of the more tedious parts of my job it involves having a lot of browser tabs open.
Chris [0:29:43]: I still have to obviously look because Ai is not deter and it makes mistakes.
Chris [0:29:48]: But a lot more of this process is automated and flagged, so I'm kind of informed as to at least the baseline of this going into my human at around.
Chris [0:29:57]: So this is one of maybe the most important details that I alluded to at the beginning here, which is that these documents They live in different places, And the other thing is that they're not static files.
Chris [0:30:09]: Quad, you can use projects and you can upload documents, but with skills, and I could be wrong Maybe there's a way to do this with projects too.
Chris [0:30:17]: But with skills, you can run the live document, and you can check it for changes and I'm gonna tell you a little bit more about how I do that in just a moment here, but just, like, understand that it can grab the live version of a file that you might have changed.
Chris [0:30:29]: You might have new guidelines.
Chris [0:30:30]: You might have updated a brief, etcetera.
Chris [0:30:33]: And so, basically, the skill checks whether the source has changed since the last run and pulls it if it has.
Chris [0:30:39]: And, yeah.
Chris [0:30:41]: It kind of avoids that knowledge being frozen in place.
Chris [0:30:44]: So the editing change is really just half of my workflow.
Chris [0:30:48]: I also have this draft content creation workflow it helps me generate on brand Cta internal link finding, finding relevant media to Weave even taking a stab at the intro.
Chris [0:30:58]: And then...
Chris [0:30:59]: It works with the draft agent.
Chris [0:31:01]: And then...
Chris [0:31:02]: Or sorry, the editor agent.
Chris [0:31:03]: I start the brief as a human.
Chris [0:31:05]: I use the skill for that too, and then there's a final human edit it.
Chris [0:31:08]: So I wanna make sure I get this in.
Chris [0:31:10]: Cash your prompts, which is what I said before.
Chris [0:31:12]: Use markdown to save on tokens.
Chris [0:31:15]: And use a project manager's skills so that the skills work together effectively.
Dave [0:31:20]: Love that.
Dave [0:31:21]: Hey.
Dave [0:31:21]: If you are a member of the Exit Five team, and you're listening to that, do what she did.
Dave [0:31:25]: Because we're blasting through every twelve hour, or someone's like, can you add more money to the claude?
Dave [0:31:29]: I had to tell Matt.
Dave [0:31:32]: I'm like, stop checking the weather with Claude, please.
Dave [0:31:34]: Alright.
Shiran [0:31:35]: My feel.
Dave [0:31:36]: Are you
Maddy [0:31:36]: ready for your four minute timer?
Dave [0:31:38]: Hit me missus dog.
Maddy [0:31:40]: The animations are sick.
Maddy [0:31:41]: This is awesome.
Allen [0:31:43]: I have more than just lasers.
Allen [0:31:44]: I also have a really cool x rave mode.
Allen [0:31:47]: Look at this why.
Sam [0:31:48]: I you gonna say I have substance.
Allen [0:31:50]: No.
Allen [0:31:50]: I love animation.
Allen [0:31:53]: So...
Allen [0:31:53]: Yeah.
Allen [0:31:54]: I just wanted to show you, like, where all the data comes from and Jump right into the agent and show you how I actually built it.
Allen [0:31:58]: But, yeah, you can see the data comes from Linkedin.
Allen [0:32:00]: It's actually doing research with built with.
Allen [0:32:02]: Because, like, we as a company, we really care about the products that we have.
Allen [0:32:06]: So, like, when we wanna sell you a Cms or an experimentation platform, we need to figure out not just who you are as a company, but also what you care about and how you talk.
Allen [0:32:15]: So we...
Allen [0:32:16]: Like I mentioned earlier able look at job, open job applications, everything like that, and then we basically create a pitch out of this.
Allen [0:32:24]: I think the core thing that I would love to give the people is that The goal here is not to essentially throw everything that you have on a page.
Allen [0:32:32]: It's to, like, a hub page is often a term that I hear.
Allen [0:32:35]: It's actually take what people care about and try to figure out how to contextualize everything that you have and how to leave stuff out.
Allen [0:32:42]: So you can see here it's actually creating a net new pitch out of the real content that we have pre proof phrases.
Allen [0:32:48]: It's all complete.
Allen [0:32:50]: And then on top of that, we even have an edit mode so that you can see here internal people can actually give suggestions like claude code style, and the agents basically working in the backgrounds to do the edits, including salespeople.
Allen [0:33:02]: They can literally on a call, go in and basically create their own landing pages directly.
Allen [0:33:08]: And then you can see here.
Allen [0:33:10]: This the actual agent running in the background.
Allen [0:33:12]: So on daily schedule, we run it on Tuesdays and Thursdays because that's when I found most updates happen in Crm.
Allen [0:33:18]: This is our agent platform by the way.
Allen [0:33:20]: So I've lot of this little work flow, and it says on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I want you to go grab a list from Salesforce.
Allen [0:33:26]: And then for every company you find on that list, do all the research and spin up the landing page, and I can show you how that works here.
Allen [0:33:34]: So it's essentially a really long agent that we built that's taking on the role of an Ab manager.
Allen [0:33:39]: And then the good part about this is, we actually tell it how to do a good job.
Allen [0:33:44]: So that's the difference from maybe a normal agent where you write out a prompt and tell it how to do the work.
Allen [0:33:49]: We actually say why it's important and what we expect to be in there, and that's kinda how we get it to run a sub huge scale and make it repeatable.
Allen [0:33:56]: And then every week, it also updates the hundred oldest pages, so that it kind of refreshes each of them and keeps them fresh, say they move through the deal cycle or we've win an opportunity.
Allen [0:34:07]: It knows to, like, move those out and update them.
Allen [0:34:10]: But, yeah, you can see all the tools that we use like Salesforce.
Allen [0:34:13]: It browse the web, the searches, take screenshots, updates our Cms, gets their brand.
Allen [0:34:19]: So, yes, I saw that question on the chat as well.
Allen [0:34:21]: The lasers come in multiple colors.
Allen [0:34:23]: It actually looks at the brand of the company and it uses their accent colors throughout the page, which is kind of fun.
Allen [0:34:28]: And then even uses our digital asset manager to, like, store all the files.
Allen [0:34:32]: I need to here here.
Allen [0:34:33]: So my job, now essentially, it's just to manage this at scale.
Allen [0:34:36]: Right?
Allen [0:34:36]: It's running for thousands of pages.
Allen [0:34:38]: I don't have time to review thousands of pages.
Allen [0:34:40]: So Actually send out a ping on teams with instructions for the Sales team on how to activate it.
Allen [0:34:45]: And then track how people engage with the pages.
Allen [0:34:47]: And based on that, I kinda have this platform that I can go through and and look exactly at, like, what the quality is, I could even give the agent coaching and say, if you're going off the rails and not doing it in the way that I like.
Allen [0:34:59]: I want you stop, and I mentioned it earlier, but you can see the number here.
Allen [0:35:02]: It's ran over fourteen thousand times, And it's almost too hard for me to...
Allen [0:35:06]: Have to zoom in to actually focus on it.
Allen [0:35:08]: But, yeah, there's only a hundred and twenty cases where it wasn't able to do its job.
Allen [0:35:12]: So which is in nine out of ten times just someone didn't update stuff in Salesforce or We need to, clean up some of our data on our side.
Allen [0:35:20]: So that's kind of what we built out.
Allen [0:35:22]: And then my favorite part of this is actually seeing people out event too.
Allen [0:35:26]: So we actually bring it to events now.
Allen [0:35:28]: We literally throw in the lead list at events.
Allen [0:35:29]: It's like show them their pages, which
Dave [0:35:32]: is kinda fun.
Dave [0:35:32]: So...
Dave [0:35:34]: Cool.
Maddy [0:35:36]: With one second to there.
Dave [0:35:39]: Alright.
Dave [0:35:39]: We got mister Wildcard.
Dave [0:35:40]: Huge.
Dave [0:35:41]: You had to have know that it was coming.
Dave [0:35:42]: I mean, you're sitting there calculating the votes.
Dave [0:35:44]: You know, we produced Marissa called you from behind the scenes.
Dave [0:35:47]: So Allan back.
Dave [0:35:48]: It's been a minute.
Dave [0:35:49]: He was here, you know, when it was, like, twelve ten Pm.
Dave [0:35:51]: So let's go.
Sam [0:35:53]: Alright.
Sam [0:35:53]: So this basically breaks down into five steps.
Sam [0:35:56]: Each one of those steps has steps, but find filter in rich, score and share.
Sam [0:36:02]: Find.
Sam [0:36:03]: Is this combination of a tool called Tri five?
Sam [0:36:06]: And Fire crawl use Mc p for both of these things, and I have a massive list of cool places.
Sam [0:36:17]: So probably thirty or so Twitter accounts, Cp g brand ag, paid newsletters, podcasts, Youtube channels that I ripped the transcript of.
Sam [0:36:29]: It searches all of that stuff.
Sam [0:36:31]: It makes a list of brands that are mentioned.
Sam [0:36:33]: I get a gigantic list dumped into Claude on Tuesday morning.
Sam [0:36:37]: Then we filter that list through a combination of this neat little bot, my Rev ops team built in Slack that allows us to check two Salesforce instances because we have two Salesforce.
Sam [0:36:47]: To make sure someone is not a customer, they're not active pipeline.
Sam [0:36:51]: If they are neither of those things, use Fire crawl Mc p again to go and find a Url for the brand.
Sam [0:37:00]: Once we have all of the Urls, we kick them into clay where a common of stuff happens, but we start with firm graphic enrichment.
Sam [0:37:11]: So looking for head count and where they're based, and what kind of category there and what year there were founded And if at any point in filling in this information, they're d queued, they just don't move forward to try to save a little money on tokens.
Sam [0:37:23]: So if they're founded thirty years ago, I don't care about them for this purpose.
Sam [0:37:28]: This will build, like, part one of of what will be scored eventually.
Sam [0:37:32]: After this techno demographics.
Sam [0:37:34]: So we use store leads.
Sam [0:37:36]: We use built with, as I mentioned before, store leads is generally not super valuable from my perspective when we're looking for nascent brands, but some of them have something.
Sam [0:37:47]: Maybe we'll see they're using Cla already, or they're using post script for Sms, and those are generally good indicators that these are people who know what they're doing.
Sam [0:37:56]: So they're they're worth us talking to.
Sam [0:37:58]: It's also good to know if they're on shopify shop five plus or neither if they're on neither, their auto d cue.
Sam [0:38:04]: Site traffic is pretty useless here.
Sam [0:38:06]: If they have side traffic, it's a great sign, but no side traffic is not a helpful indicator.
Sam [0:38:12]: Did they raise money?
Sam [0:38:14]: How much did they raise.
Sam [0:38:15]: Obviously, we'll have this information if the way we found them was through Vc or through an ag that said, hey, Cp brand x raise some cash.
Sam [0:38:22]: But generally speaking, this is somewhat helpful.
Sam [0:38:26]: Having money is great, not having money is also totally five, particularly if you're good.
Sam [0:38:31]: Then we look for the team for new brands, Linkedin in is kind of useless in the Cp g e commerce space.
Sam [0:38:38]: So this will usually mean some more fire crawl Mc, to go and find the people associated with the brand who were mentioned in articles and then find where they used to work and give me a list of who they are.
Sam [0:38:49]: Their linkedin profile, their last three jobs, their role in the current organization.
Sam [0:38:53]: Then we determine is it a fit.
Sam [0:38:55]: Pretty obvious.
Sam [0:38:56]: Is it a new brand?
Sam [0:38:58]: Is it a consumable?
Sam [0:38:58]: It's yes.
Sam [0:38:59]: If they're established or they sell one time purchase type product or they're not a shopify we have to pass even if it's dope life athletic greens.
Sam [0:39:06]: This is how the scoring all breaks down, we're biased towards team pe, subscription fit and freshness.
Sam [0:39:12]: We care less about revenue, fundraising and traffic growth for the reasons I explained, and I'm going way over time.
Maddy [0:39:19]: You were doing great on time.
Maddy [0:39:20]: Like...
Maddy [0:39:20]: I also really like your slides where they designed to do ai.
Sam [0:39:24]: They were all all the log design.
Sam [0:39:25]: You can see the the shitty little eyebrow and the top corners is the dead giveaway.
Dave [0:39:29]: See that's my issue.
Dave [0:39:30]: I think we give Claude too much credit.
Dave [0:39:32]: Like, Claude was trained on all of our stuff, and now whenever we do something like, dead.
Dave [0:39:37]: And I'm like, I did that, mother, You know?
Dave [0:39:38]: I mean, like, I want you did that, Allen.
Dave [0:39:40]: You made those slides.
Dave [0:39:41]: Alright.
Dave [0:39:43]: Dash.
Dave [0:39:43]: I've been popping off.
Dave [0:39:44]: So do you know what we're supposed to do?
Dave [0:39:46]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:39:46]: Yeah.
Maddy [0:39:46]: Make winner big way.
Maddy [0:39:48]: The time.
Maddy [0:39:49]: It's the time to nominate the actual actual actual winner of this competition.
Dave [0:39:55]: The actual winner.
Dave [0:39:56]: I don't want who had the best presentation I want.
Dave [0:39:59]: What of these is most useful for you, Which one do you think you might actually take and go put into play?
Dave [0:40:04]: In your company.
Dave [0:40:05]: Is it gonna be Mad.
Dave [0:40:06]: Maddie popular among the attendees in the chat.
Dave [0:40:08]: Love to see that.
Dave [0:40:09]: Twenty six hundred personalized landing pages with laser beams, and Allan finding your next big customer for your competitors?
Dave [0:40:16]: No.
Dave [0:40:17]: Who is it?
Dave [0:40:17]: Oh, look at this.
Dave [0:40:19]: This is the closest it's ever been.
Maddy [0:40:21]: Wow.
Dave [0:40:21]: Whoever was in the chat that they don't like the voting format.
Dave [0:40:23]: I got some gonna say to you, Doug.
Dave [0:40:25]: This is awesome.
Dave [0:40:26]: Alright.
Maddy [0:40:27]: And do you see the live voting anyway you guys seeing the numbers so those right now?
Dave [0:40:32]: Alright.
Dave [0:40:32]: We're gonna call it.
Dave [0:40:33]: Should we call it ten Yeah.
Dave [0:40:34]: Eight seven six five four three two one.
Dave [0:40:37]: Call it.
Maddy [0:40:39]: Oh no.
Maddy [0:40:39]: Oh my god.
Dave [0:40:41]: The percentage...
Dave [0:40:42]: Wait.
Dave [0:40:42]: Hold on.
Dave [0:40:43]: This is a tie.
Dave [0:40:44]: The percentage is a tie, but Maddie has ninety seven votes and Michelle has ninety five votes.
Maddy [0:40:51]: How is that awesome when?
Dave [0:40:53]: Yes.
Dave [0:40:53]: If have two winners, we'll feature you both in upcoming newsletters.
Dave [0:40:56]: We'll plug you all.
Dave [0:40:57]: Congratulations to you both, Dan, you're gonna have to find two trophies to send out excellent work.
