What is ISO INSIDERS?

Your tech talk, our Insider edge!

Powered By Gifted Sounds Network

Lance John: Hello and welcome back
to another episode of Iso Insiders.

Yo.

Yo yo.

Yep.

Yep.

We are back.

Y'all, uh, it's been on Monday.

Avery Phillips: It's been

Lance John: a little while.

It is been a couple months, but

Avery Phillips: you know more
than a couple technically.

Yeah,

Lance John: we are.

You might see some things that look
a little different around here.

Um, but that's just, you know,
we are currently building out

the space a little bit better.

We're

Avery Phillips: trying to improve it and
trying to make it a little bit more fancy.

Yeah, a little bit more.

Lance John: Yes.

Yes.

Um, but in the past, what, see eight
months, it was like something, no wait.

Has been April,

Avery Phillips: may, June,
July, August, September.

I'm November day.

Lance John: Is it eight months?

Eight to nine months.

Eight to nine months.

God damn.

We've been off your feed.

Um.

You probably noticed some stuff that
have been going on our channel there.

Um, we launch, uh, game for the Culture.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, there's gonna be a new
season gonna be shot next year.

Mm-hmm.

That's gonna be a whole thing.

So it is.

And it'll look better than what it is now.

But, you know, we had to get
the stuff out what we had.

So it is what it is.

It is, it is what it is.

I mean,

Avery Phillips: and also we were,
there was a chance we were gonna move

and change studios as well mm-hmm.

Until we decided to stay
here for a little bit longer.

So yeah, there's a lot of things in flux.

Yeah.

With um, da da direction.

We wanna take the studio and our
projects, so bear with us people.

Yeah.

Just bear with us.

Lance John: It'll take some time.

You know, in the meantime, a lot of stuff
has happened between April and December.

Um, uh, a lot of products was put out, a
lot of things that, you know, I was not

Avery Phillips: approximately delayed.

Lance John: Yep.

One of, one of which was a
big part is like production.

One was from, um, black magic.

Their new Atem Uhhuh, which is now
coming out, which is 2,500 bucks.

Avery Phillips: Oh.

Chu Change.

Lance John: But it's really cool.

But I'm not, we're not
gonna get into that though.

Um, but one of the things that
definitely helped K like one

of the big releases mm-hmm.

Is, um, when it comes to, um, editing.

So Divin Resolve 20 dropped.

So the studio version, I
would say, like, you know,

Avery Phillips: the

Lance John: one you gotta pay for, right.

The $300 one.

It's $300

Avery Phillips: though.

So, wait, didn't DaVinci, I heard, uh,
that DaVinci was planning on introducing

Lance John: subscriptions or
something, something like that.

I haven't seen it because
of the whole ai Right.

'cause of the credits and
stuff like that, the credit.

So I, I can see them doing that.

Yeah.

But I don't know how No.

DaVinci don't do it.

Avery Phillips: Come on.

You want the alternative
to Adobe Premier C on.

Lance John: Right.

And one of the, one of the things
that they've implemented is this

called, this thing called Telescript.

What's that?

And so it is, but they put like
over a hundred features in, in

their, like it's a lot, dude.

And I've, I've been messing
around with it too as well.

And you know, it has things
like smart multicam, uh,

fucking, um, animated subtitles.

Like it's, yeah, it's really cool.

Like I've been trying to like, mess
around more with it and stuff like that.

But the coolest thing I found
was, um, overdubbing where, um.

So it is a little weird.

Right.

So pretty much you can take like
say you had like a wave file.

Yeah.

Like how we were having a conversation,
like if I were to mix this down mm-hmm.

Put it into one thing.

Mm-hmm.

I can then tell, um, the
vin, Hey, here's my audio.

Mm-hmm.

Separate our voices.

And then it would create
two tracks for you Really.

Yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

Now, obviously.

It has to be really good where it's
like you need proper recording.

It can't just be like everybody just
kind of like yelling over each other.

Yeah.

It's gonna have a hard time with that.

Mm-hmm.

Um, and I've, I've tried a file
like that completely did not work.

Did not work.

It was cutting off people's
voices here and there.

It didn't really know
how to parse everything.

Avery Phillips: That makes sense.

Lance John: And it
helps, like if you wait.

If each person wait to
have a, like say something.

Avery Phillips: Mm-hmm.

Lance John: Um, 'cause if you don't,
then you're gonna run into, you know, all

kinds of issues with that sort of thing.

Avery Phillips: That sounds pretty cool.

And yeah, I wish I was more into
Da Vinci Resolve, but every time I,

like I get back into it eventually
I'm reminded that it's node based

editing, not layer based editing.

Yeah.

And that always throws me off.

So like I understand how powerful
the software is, obviously, and all

the features that you get with it.

Yeah.

I just, something about
layer based editing and just.

Relaxes my soul until the program crashes.

Lance John: I prefer lawyer base.

That's why I'm more, that's why we can
get into Premier Pro and Oh, after facts.

Avery Phillips: Yeah.

You know, I'll sit there and do it.

Any

Lance John: and

Avery Phillips: everything in after

Lance John: facts.

I tried to do the node thing and resolve.

I'm like, I don't this.

My mind, and I've looked at
tutorials and stuff like that.

It's like, this doesn't compute to me.

It's like layers make more sense to me,

Avery Phillips: bro.

I was doing, um, node based compositing
in college when I was in Nuke.

And Nuke is like the robust version,
like the real ah, robust version of

After Facts, and I would be struggl.

Trying to keep track of
what I'm supposed to do.

And it's supposed to be easy
'cause it's node based and my brain

just could not make sense of it.

Lance John: No.

Yeah.

That's why I'm like, I'm, I'm
struggling with it right now.

'cause I'm like, I'm trying to figure,
'cause there's so many different

layers that's built into it and it's
like you have to like know what goes

where and have to connect these lines.

I'm like, like, eh, like
I, I need more practice.

But, which it's funny because

Avery Phillips: you know, this
program could save you so much money.

Oh yeah.

But every time I try to cancel my Adobe
subscription, then I use something like.

The, uh, Photoshop remove tool, right.

And then I'm def flagged text.

How am I gonna, how can I cancel my
subscription when Adobe is over here doing

things that the other software is not?

Lance John: It just does.

Yeah.

And they now, they're built into it now
instead of like getting a plugin to do it.

Yeah.

Or something like that.

Mm-hmm.

And with their latest Adobe Max.

Um, now a lot of the AI tools that
have been separate now are now in.

Uh, Photoshop.

Oh.

Avery Phillips: Like,

Lance John: um, like Topaz and Firefly
and I think Claude and some other stuff.

Like anything to do with video or
No, anything to do with pictures.

Mm-hmm.

Like, it's all in there
now and I'm like, huh.

It's

Avery Phillips: like, and that's
actually something that, you know,

it's a good thing that you brought
that up because Topaz is something

that we use right here in the studio.

It's added, it's been
added, but now it's added.

To Photoshop and I think you have
to pay a subscription now for the

credits or something like that.

'cause I saw there was a lot of go back.

There's

Lance John: a li Yeah, there's a
limited amount you can use per model.

And if you go over that, then you,
I think you either, they either stop

you completely or you just go back.

I think there's,

Avery Phillips: I think
it's more than that.

Like let's say you try to get Topaz,
uh, photo or video outside of Photoshop.

Oh, that's more of a, a
subscription based version now.

Uh, yeah.

I there's a lot of people
complaining about that.

Lance John: I did.

We do have, I do have the tow
pass desktop, um, the gigapixel.

Yeah.

And photo, like they did.

I did see some update about, Hey, you
wanna, no, I'm not, like, I'm good.

It works just fine.

Yeah.

I'll stay within the, you know, what
I already paid for and that's it.

I'm good with that.

Agreed.

Yeah, but you know, the engine
resolve like a lot of AI stuff.

Same thing with Adobe, lot of AI stuff
that's been announced and stuff like that.

Mm-hmm.

Especially in like Premier Pro, you can
extend your clips, extend your audio.

Yeah.

I was saying

Avery Phillips: that you could
do, um, like I think it's an After

Effects or is it also Adobe Premiere?

You can do Generated filter
to extend your footage.

Yeah.

Like up to two seconds.

Lance John: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Oh, like, so you can like fill a gap.

What In, uh, after Effects you
could not bring a native 3D objects.

You don't need like Cinema
four D or any of that stuff.

You just like bring it in and it has
all the controls and everything really.

Yeah.

And, and, uh, after Effects beta,
but it hasn't, it hasn't, uh,

come to the regular After Effects.

But I tried it out.

It does work, as they say it does.

You can actually create it from in there.

You can create the primitives, um,
directly so you can just like create

a circle Uhhuh, and then you have
all these controls and whatnot.

Avery Phillips: That's insane because,
you know, back in the day before we

really had Cinema four D integration.

Used to have to use the,
uh, video copilot version,

Lance John: right?

To open up Element 3D.

Element 3D.

Yeah.

Element 3D.

And use that man for the
wall and bring that all tons.

I use that.

You don't need that no more.

It's like, you know, so we'll see.

We'll see what happens.

Avery Phillips: Technology's crazy.

What else we got?

Lance John: So moving on to like
hardware and camera stuff, like,

well, cameras and audio mostly.

Um, so Black Magic release, their
py is 12 K. So wait, lemme get this

Avery Phillips: straight.

Is that like the big
version of what we got?

Lance John: Pretty much
it's like broadcast.

These are things you used in like,
either you're gonna broadcast

or you're shooting in a movie or
something like that, or a documentary.

I mean, you could shoot movies,
but you know, it's, if you

Avery Phillips: coulda used it to
shoot the, the Diddy documentary on it.

No,

Lance John: it, no.

Well, no, you could.

It's just that it's a very
expensive camera, but not as

expensive as other cameras.

I'm like,

Avery Phillips: it's a
expensive as a Ari camera.

Lance John: No, it's cheaper.

Um,

Avery Phillips: oh, so
it's a budget camera.

It's a budget camera.

Got you.

Yeah,

Lance John: it is like, but you know,
you can use it for, you know, depend,

like, technically I would say like if
you're a high and indie creator, that

sort of thing, you could probably do that.

Or

Avery Phillips: like a nature
videographer or something.

Something.

Yeah.

And it comes

Lance John: with a shit ton of like,
you know, options and, you know, it can

live stream, it can do all this stuff.

You could plug that your, your audio
directly into it and stuff like that.

So it's a, it is a pretty robust
camera overall, like That's cool.

Um.

So also, uh, zoom released a new PO track.

Oh.

So P four, apparently it has
like AI built in or whatever.

This was like in October, I think.

Avery Phillips: What doesn't
have AI built in somehow?

Uh,

Lance John: it's supposed to be AI
noise reduction, so it's supposed

to be smart, which cool, you know,
voice compression, it can be helpful.

I think a lot of people have a hard
time trying to figure out how to.

Do that well.

Mm-hmm.

Because in a lot of the, even the stuff
we use and stuff like that, you can, we

still have to adjust per person's voice.

Yeah.

So you have AI that can like
learn someone's voice and

like adjust your microphone.

To help out with that.

I think that's a good thing.

Oh yeah, absolutely.

It removes a, a extra step for you.

Avery Phillips: Absolutely.

Lance John: Now how good it is.

I have no clue.

Nothing.

We gotta test.

We don't have one.

So it is like, you know,
maybe I'll get one.

It's, and it, I don't
think it's that expensive.

I think it's like 200 bucks, 300
bucks or something like that.

Um, that's not the worst.

Yeah, it's not the worst.

Um, so who knows?

You know, and it could help you out
with like, if you're just starting

out like a podcast and you don't wanna
worry about all this other stuff, pick

that, or whatever the case may be.

Um.

Sony, uh, you know, they have
refreshed their cameras, right?

Mm. ZE ten two, you.

Avery Phillips: Yeah.

I remember hearing about that a while ago,
and I just didn't really pay attention.

Lance John: Yeah.

Which is like a, it's
a vlog camera, right?

Yeah.

So apparently they added
like 4K 60 recording,

Avery Phillips: which is,
is that cropped or No?

All,

Lance John: I don't know, baby.

It's probably cropped.

Yeah.

So it's like.

And apparently, uh, it added a
26 megapixel A PSC sensor crop.

Okay.

So there you go.

Yeah.

So the C is for crop.

It's like, um, but also the,
but the big news is the Sony.

Uh, a seven V, uh

Avery Phillips: four.

A four.

A seven.

Five.

Five.

I have the four.

I shoot on the four.

Yeah.

But I, the five is the can of ca
is the kind of camera I would buy

and use it strictly as a video
camera do because I have the four.

Do you know

Lance John: anybody who

Avery Phillips: has it?

The five?

Yeah.

Not yet.

Lance John: Ah,

Avery Phillips: man.

I mean, the camera body is like $2,900.

Oh,

Lance John: well maybe we
can, uh, how about this?

We could probably, that would
probably be our next episode.

Let's talk like see if we can like, like
deep dive into it and hopefully we can

contact somebody who, maybe they have it

Avery Phillips: maybe on share
grid or something, but I would, I

would love to get that camera body.

It's just that, you know,
that's a lot of money to drop

on a camera body at the moment.

Pretty much.

Yeah.

That I'm not gonna necessarily use.

That's somebody's rent,

rent, mortgage, car payment,

Lance John: mortgage, all that good stuff.

Avery Phillips: Yeah.

But yeah, I'm excited for that.

I am excited for that camera.

Lance John: Yeah, we can definitely get,
like I would say, let's see if we can find

either, if somebody has it, let us know.

Or maybe we just wait till not buy it.

Yeah.

Or like, you know, like, come on
the show, let's have a conversation.

But anyway, um, moving on to
like, uh, podcast production tech.

There's been a few things.

That is, um, you know, I would say like
spot Spotify, um, is starting to become

like where everybody goes now to like
start, like, to like publish your podcast.

Is that

Avery Phillips: becoming the
defacto go-to like how Google, it's

free, so how Google is a default
search engine, right, exactly.

Lance John: So it's like, 'cause it's
free, you can distribute from there.

It has analytics and yada
yada and stuff like that.

Mm-hmm So it's kind of like you
sign in, you do your thing, you

upload, boom, you're good to go.

And also on top of that
too, they let you do video.

So, you know,

Avery Phillips: you know,
I don't use Spotify.

I use YouTube music.

So this is news to me.

Oh,

Lance John: listen.

Um hmm.

All I know

Avery Phillips: is from what I've seen,
like recently on my Instagram stories,

Spotify telling people's ages based
on the music that they're listen do.

Oh, and then on the

Lance John: Spotify rap, yeah, the

Avery Phillips: Spotify rap thing.

I, I'm just seeing people post
that, that, that, meanwhile I

get the 2025 recap from YouTube.

Oh.

Which is not as exciting, I guess, as.

As, um, yeah, because Spotify, but

Lance John: still cool to me because you
would think, now, you would think that,

you would think that YouTube was supposed
to be the bigger one for, um, video.

For video podcast.

Yeah.

You would think.

Um, and, but apparently Spotify
somehow beat, it's weird.

I don't know what that metric is, like,
what people are doing, but I think

because, you know, Spotify does both.

Maybe that's why, 'cause you probably
have, because you, because technically

when you're, when you're watching
a video podcast on Spotify, you

don't have to, you know, you could
just turn on the audio version of

it and it just plays that for you.

So you don't have to
like go one or the other.

Avery Phillips: I mean,
if you're on your phone,

Lance John: I think, yeah, probably
most people probably just pick on audio.

Avery Phillips: I mean, like if you're
playing a video on your phone, right?

Yeah.

It's like a podcast.

I believe there's a way
to just hit a button.

And it goes to audio only.

Oh really?

I believe

Lance John: so.

You could just like
switch in between them.

Avery Phillips: I know for, I know
definitely for like music videos

when I'm playing on YouTube music.

Yeah.

It could play the video or
I could just play the audio.

Yeah.

I don't know what's going on outside.

Lance John: The chill.

The cheering.

The cheering.

The cheering.

Yeah.

I dunno if you guys heard that, but,
um, but yeah, so Spotify is like,

you know, you're trying to like.

Dominate.

They've been trying to do this
for a while, but do you think

Avery Phillips: that they, Dr. That
YouTube dropped the ball on this?

Because I feel like, like you said,
they were in a position to capitalize

on the video podcast network or,
um, they, they have it market.

Lance John: Yeah.

I would say what they need to
allow for is file replacement.

Sometimes you make mistakes or whatever.

They need to allow creators to
replace a file if you make a mistake.

Don't they

Avery Phillips: already
allow that on YouTube?

Lance John: No, you cannot.

You cannot replace a file.

You have to delete it and re-upload.

So I need to go look that up.

I thought, I think you
just do a file replacement.

No, you cannot do file
replacement on YouTube.

Trust me, I do this every day.

He like, Spotify, lets
you do file replacement.

So you can just replace your file.

So wait,

Avery Phillips: you'll still maintain
the same views and everything like that.

You keep your metrics uhhuh

Lance John: and you just replace the file.

Avery Phillips: But if you do
it on YouTube every section

Lance John: Exactly.

You delete it, it's gone.

You're done.

So, yeah.

Um, oh wow.

Also, apple Podcasts roll
out transcripts now, so they

expand up to like 13 languages.

So, which is cool.

So, you know, I would say if you.

I guess auto dub.

Oh, I don't know how well it's gonna,
I don't know how well our podcast

was sounding in, in Spanish or
Portuguese or something like that.

I have no clue.

But you know, that's probably something
we could look into and see, like,

well, that'll be fun because then you,
you can get like, you know, it could

help other folks out or whatnot and
just kind of help with absolutely.

This sort of thing.

So it's like, cool.

You know, um, two other thing, one thing
I wanted to mention is, um, uh, road.

Releasing some interesting new updates
to their, um, their hardware uhhuh.

So the road cast of Pro, so the road
are pro and the road cast of Mini, I

think it's called, I don't know, but
it's like a big one is a small one.

So just less inputs.

Um, and uh, they now have
the remote calling feature.

So the way this works is say you have one.

I have one.

Mm-hmm.

You can like call me now.

On there.

And then we can have a, a podcast like,
but audio only, you know what I'm saying?

So like, you literally dial
a number, like, do we have to

have minutes for this thing?

Well, that's the thing.

So I believe for just you
and I, yeah, it's free.

The more people you add, you have to
then pay some sort of subscription.

But there is no like minutes
or anything like that.

But why is it always right?

A subscription?

They gotta find a way to sell.

They gotta sell the product.

Right?

They gotta tell the everything.

There's a

Avery Phillips: subscription now, man.

Yeah, yeah.

Which

Lance John: I was like, mm.
You know, I was like, well this

kind of sounds like my idea.

Somebody's been listening to me.

But anyway.

Ah.

Um, it's like, but that's cool, I guess.

But if, but you know, I would only
say yeah, pay for that sort of thing.

If your podcast is making you money,
and then you can put that as a expense.

Mm-hmm.

I would say, yeah, sure.

Go right ahead.

Do it.

You know?

'cause then it helped it, like
it eases up on a lot of things.

It was like, all right, drop the files
in Dropbox and send me the thing.

It's like, you know what I'm saying?

So it's like, you know, you know, I
don't have to like wait for the people

to remote folks to do that sort of thing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Lance John: Plus the cool part
is you don't have to have, um.

I believe you don't have to
have the, uh, the road caster.

You can just do it through a browser.

So anybody could just join.

Avery Phillips: Oh,
that's very convenient.

Yeah.

Lance John: So I was like, oh, cool.

So you just hand out a link
and they join, kinda like Zoom.

Yeah.

That sort of thing.

Oh, Google Meet.

Yeah.

Yeah, exactly.

And the next thing that they added
was, or I would say reduced, is their

video, um, their video switcher.

The road, road caster video,
is that what it's called?

Video.

Ah, it's a weird name.

But their, their video switcher that
they came out with earlier, I think.

Last year.

Mm-hmm.

I wanna say, um, now has a $500 variant.

Um, three HDMI, it still has the
two XLR plugins, so you don't

need an extra audio, whatever.

Mm-hmm.

But for 500 bucks you get Super Source.

We're just fucking cool.

'cause for $500.

You're not getting Super
source on anything.

Like even though what we have
here costs way more than that and

we just got Super source on it.

Avery Phillips: And for those of
us who might be confused about

what Super Source is just, it's

Lance John: like side by side, the
sort of thing, like the, like the

pretty much what you're seeing here.

Like, um, and then, you know, but
theirs can do like a couple of angles.

I think you can only do
like three or so of them.

Okay.

Because it's like, like I said, but.

It has, some of it still retains some of
the, like the wireless capabilities, like

wireless microphones connected to it.

So you can go to like more
than two microphones in it.

Um, uh, wireless camera, like attach,
like the NDI camera stuff with the iPhone.

Still there, that all that stuff is
there, but for $500 it is 10 80 P 60.

But I did see a lot of people
complaining about, well, no, 4K.

Like, wait, you, you are
not getting 4K for $500.

It calm down.

It's

Avery Phillips: like, not
even for Black Friday.

Lance John: And then on top of that too,
ISO recording it, it still does that.

Like iso it is like, no, not happening.

Calm down, move on, take what
you get, take what you get.

And that's, that's about it.

Um, but anyway, moving on to streaming
and life production, that's been a big.

Big thing this year,
um, for a lot of people.

Um, OBS Bs.

So OBS released, like their new thing.

Um, now you have na, like you can
see a native YouTube chat like pen.

Avery Phillips: Just as a reminder,
OBS is the free open source.

Open broadcast software.

Open broadcast.

Okay.

Yeah.

Lance John: So that's like the free
one that if you like, you know, when

a lot of people are starting out to
like stream and stuff like that, that

people get that it's very powerful.

Um, it can definitely just eat the,
eat the resources out on your computer.

Yeah.

Uh, but you know, if you have.

All the stuff, all the things.

Um, but now it has like a bunch of
integration to like, you don't need

to get like these weird plugins
anymore for like the YouTube chat

and apparently Amazon IVS support.

I don't know what the hell IVS support
is, to be quite honest with you.

This is something they added, I guess,
if you in vitro support, I guess.

Um, sure.

Avery Phillips: That's
something we'll look up later.

Lance John: You can preview your score
ball and stuff like that, but I'm guessing

it's probably has something to do with
like the, the live shopping thing.

Yeah.

'cause you can stream, um, it's hard
to find them, but they're on Amazon.

If you go on Amazon, look up live
shopping, you'll see a bunch of

people live selling stuff on Amazon.

Avery Phillips: So this would
be pretty good for, uh, like,

uh, TikTok shop affiliates.

Lance John: Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Yeah, that could do.

I mean, some people do do
live streaming on TikTok.

Avery Phillips: I see a lot because
every time I try to scroll on

my TikTok, every other TikTok,
every other TikTok is online live.

I'm selling

Lance John: beds.

I'm like,

Avery Phillips: what?

Yes.

Or something like that.

I'm just like, I'm trying to go on my For
you why on my, on my, uh, following page.

Why am I getting live random lives here?

Lance John: I'm getting so much ads bro.

So much ads.

And then in between actual people.

Yeah.

It's like you.

Yep.

Um, but.

YouTube also added, um, they started
adding some AI stuff to it, like

VO three, everybody's, you know,
or not nano Banana, but VO three.

Yeah.

Um, and then shout out to Nano

Avery Phillips: Banana, pick up the

Lance John: handy.

So VO three helps, like, pretty much help.

The way they're doing it is like,
it helps you create stuff, so it's

not necessarily creating stuff for
you, so like you can like, brainstorm

with it and stuff like that.

Mm-hmm.

Like when you log into your YouTube
studio, you can, like, there's a little

ask YouTube like, you know, and then
you can just like, come up with like.

Titles, thumbnails, yada,
yada, that sort of thing.

So cool stuff, you know.

Um, you know, um, I believe you
can probably AI edit later, but

I have no idea, but who knows?

Um, and apparently YouTube, uh, renames
repetitious contents to in authentic

content for the monetization rules.

So what do you mean?

So pretty much there's a policy
update that clarifies the mass

produce or res, uh, repetitive content
is ineligible for monetization,

emphasizing originality in an AI era.

So there, I think what they're trying
to do is, because, so recently I

did see a video of this guy, uh,
I think he works with Vox Media.

I could be wrong, but he's a
journalist and his editing style.

Phenomenal.

Mm-hmm.

Um, I don't know why I can't remember his
name, but I recognize his editing style.

So something he realized he
saw another channel verbatim

just ripping off his stuff.

Okay.

Not, not the editing style.

His videos.

Okay.

Like, um, like they would like either
verbatim download his video somehow

and up re-upload it back onto their
channel and act like it's theirs.

Um, stealing content.

Pretty much.

Oh.

Or that's what we do.

They would redo the video in
the same similar vein style.

Speaker: Oh

Lance John: yeah.

But with the same, uh, dialogue, you know?

Um, no, well, not his dialogue, but like,

Speaker: you know, yeah.

Lance John: The same talking points.

Um, and apparently this
is not illegal now.

I've never seen this until Vice,
which has now been defunct.

I'm seeing other channels upload
their videos for verbatim like.

No change.

Wait.

There are channels

Avery Phillips: uploading vices, content

Lance John: comp because vice is
no longer and they're monetized.

I don't know.

That's the thing.

'cause when I looked at it, I was
like, 'cause I would see the vice logo.

Speaker: Yeah.

Lance John: In the thumbnail.

Mm-hmm.

It's the same thumbnail
from the, from the channel.

And I was like, holy shit.

It is like, and according to what YouTube
is saying, apparently this is not illegal.

They can't really do anything about it.

I was like, but apparently this is one way
of doing it because now it's technically,

it's repetitive content because it's like,

Avery Phillips: it has
been uploaded already,

Lance John: right.

So they, they probably just
gonna demonetize the channel.

'cause it's like, well if you're doing
all this work, let's just make sure

they don't make no money off of it.

So it's like, so that might
help them stop, but we'll see.

It's like, we'll see.

Um.

But there's been some industry shakeups
in the business and stuff like that.

So sag after video game strike
ends with stronger AI protections,

and that happened in July.

Yes, I remember that.

Um, so the, you know, the 2024 through
2025 sag after video game strike ends

with a new, um, interactive media
agreement, including consent and

disclosure requirements for ai, digital,
uh, replicas plus pay increases.

More money, Hey, increases.

Avery Phillips: That's
what I'm talking about.

Lance John: Yeah.

So that, that could, you know, the
expectations there is like, I guess, you

know, but in some ways I'm like, okay.

'cause I think they reached something
similar with the actors, right?

The whole AI thing and whatnot.

And like the writers, um, and I would say,
well, I, I feel like the protections don't

go far enough, um, because, you know.

AI is getting better.

I should, I should say, I
should, I should preface it.

Generative AI is getting better.

Avery Phillips: Yeah.

Lance John: Not ai.

We do not have AI guys, gener AI
is just a marketing term right now.

Um, but you, we will see,
you know what I'm saying?

Because it's like we, it
still needs human interaction.

Like you still need to tell it what to do.

Avery Phillips: All the companies
are racing to what's, uh, to be

the first to achieve general.

General ai actual, yeah,
general ai, like actual

Lance John: sentient
artificial intelligence.

Mm-hmm.

Which.

There was this weird article about,
I think it was the New York Times.

It was like a, a a, a A thing.

It's really fucking weird, but
we'll get into that another time.

But yeah, I don't think the protections
go far enough because I feel like it

just kind of staves off what's happening.

And I was like, no, no, no.

It needs to be hard courted.

And it is like, no, you can't do shit.

Avery Phillips: I don't think
that's gonna happen without humans.

There's too many, uh, there's too many
companies out there that's trying to

go for full automated, right, which

Lance John: would save a lot of money.

Like, what do you think about it?

The short

Avery Phillips: run?

Yeah.

Yeah.

In the long run.

I think it's gonna cost them
more though, when they realize

that it's just not there yet.

Lance John: Yeah.

True.

That.

But you know, we'll see what, um,
happens with that in the future.

I don't think it's enough.

I think it should go further.

Mm-hmm.

But negotiations and
something what for it.

We'll see.

There's gonna be another strike.

Mark my words.

Um, next up, uh, TikTok at
iHeartRadio, launch, TikTok

Podcast Network and TikTok Radio.

It's

Avery Phillips: like.

I know, but I know on YouTube
there's a TikTok radio.

Lance John: Right.

And I hate, well, I wouldn't say I hate,
I, I hate the way iHeart's website is.

It's really bad.

It's not good.

Um, but they've known to do this
sort of thing, but it's kind of you,

it's still hard to find these things.

Like I have not seen this
TikTok podcast network.

Anywhere, like it's a
hint coming soon, guys.

Coming soon.

It's a suggestion.

And apparently so iHeartRadio, TikTok
partners partner to create the TikTok

podcast network and TikTok Radio, bringing
TikTok creators into long form audio

and video and across iHeart events.

Um, and you know, iHeart always have
these events all the time with the

big music acts and stuff like that.

Cool.

I guess.

Sure.

But I haven't seen any of this shit and.

We have podcast stuff
posted on, on TikTok.

Haven't been invited to
nothing, so give your time.

Maybe we don't have
enough people on there.

We're not, we're not big enough.

They're like, nah, they don't,
not big enough feel like they got

like three people watching them.

Um, and then Spotify Rap 2025
leans into, uh, competition clubs

and global events apparently.

So, apparently, uh.

I don't use Spotify, so I
don't know is I don't either.

Apparently they include, they
introduce club rankings Club.

Avery Phillips: What's a

Lance John: club?

I have no idea.

And the listening age you
were talking about earlier.

Avery Phillips: Wait, is a, maybe
a club is like a group of people

with similar music tastes that you
can go with and hang out in a room.

Like similar to how, um,
Twitter has club, I guess so

Lance John: like cliques or whatever was
like, I would assume, and it was like, oh,

you know, we have the swifties over here.

It was like,

Avery Phillips: that'd
be a very packed club.

Lance John: Right.

The Swifties versus who was the other one?

The, the, the.

The bar.

The bar.

I say the barbs or Yeah, it's like,

Avery Phillips: um, what do
you call the Beyonce ones?

The Hive Beehive?

Yeah.

The beehive dive.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Lance John: So, you know who knows
what, that's what that's all about.

But what do they

Avery Phillips: called the Cardi B ones?

'cause I, I forgot.

I don't know.

She hasn't, she has a name
for hers and I forgot.

Lance John: I forgot.

I don't know.

Gotta look it up.

Um, so, so Rap 2025 introduced clubs,
rankins and listening age along

with real world fan activations.

Whatever that is.

What

Avery Phillips: does that mean?

Lance John: Continuing Spotify's
push to make itself the social home

for listening music and podcasts?

Because remember, I, I've always
said they've, they've always been

trying to take over shit for a while.

Um, but, you know, whatever.

But, um, yeah.

You know, so there's
some predictions here.

Um, you know.

And what we probably see what
we're gonna be next, I don't know.

'cause I feel like there's gonna just
be more AI use and stuff like that.

And AI has definitely been
helping out a lot of the way po.

Like that's why I'm seeing more
and more people launch video

podcasts and stuff like that.

It's becoming easier
but not less expensive.

Avery Phillips: I mean, as technology
progresses, it's gonna just become

easier and easier until literally
you just press one button and all of

a sudden you have a fricking podcast
studio pops up in front of you.

Lance John: Right.

Just go in there and talk.

Exactly.

Like I've seen people build out vans as
a podcast studio and like, oh, I'll drive

to you and you just come and record.

That's, that's crazy.

That's, and it was like,
oh, that's kind of cool.

It's like, you know, and

Avery Phillips: that's different too.

It's like that's, I think that's
a really good appeal right there.

Lance John: Right.

Because technically lock the van.

What?

I mean, it's kind of weird going to this
strange person's van, come to my van.

If you wanna make a podcast, you wanna
make a podcast, you wanna see a podcast?

Um, I, I think that, um.

I would say prediction wise, I
would say like, I would probably

think, you know, 4K will probably
become a little bit more standard.

Standard in going forward.

Um, because a lot like I, because I feel
like a lot of podcast stuff kind of follow

the trends of like video gaming and stuff.

Like, they kind of like, oh
yeah, no, we can do that.

But, um, not right now with a
lot of, 'cause the, the computer

stuff you need a storage and
stuff you would need and whatnot.

Not great right now.

Very expensive.

Tariffs.

It's like, it's really bad.

It's really, really bad.

But I would think 10 80 p completely fine.

You at least you can see
people and hear people.

That's really what it is.

Um, I think that, you know, like I said,
we're gonna see way more independent

media kind of pop up outta nowhere because
like I said, it's getting a lot easier.

Uh, you know, whereas quality is concern.

It's, it's the same rule, right?

It's like, oh, just do it.

Yeah.

And whatever, put it out there.

Just

Avery Phillips: be consistent.

You get better as you do it.

Lance John: Yeah.

It just takes time and whatnot.

That makes sense.

You know, and I feel like if
Spotify is going in the way

they're going, they might become.

The, the, the, the go-to
for everything podcast.

You know, they might become that.

Um, but I don't know.

We'll see what happens.

We'll see what happens with that.

Uh, I do like the fact that you can just
upload videos, so that's really cool.

Um, well you have you
have any predictions?

You

Avery Phillips: I am, well, you know
me, I'm all about the camera side,

so I think the Sony 8, 7, 5 is going
to take up a lot of people's wallets.

Um, time will go on the dead.

Yeah.

If you see me in the
corner, don't say nothing.

Just support my OnlyFans link.

'cause I gotta be out there
to get this camera, bro.

All right, cool, cool, cool.

And we got some more lenses coming around.

Um, a lot of these prime lenses,
but these third party brands

actually have been taking over.

Um, V TRX has been pushing out
a lot of good quality lenses

that are really not expensive.

Like okay, they're cheap, basically,
but they're delivering, I wanna say

80 to 90% of the quality of the, uh.

Higher Sigma, Tamron and G master lenses.

So I think it's for a lot of

Lance John: people that's
good enough for me, bro.

You see?

You see what I mean?

Because even if, like, even for
people who are starting podcasts

and stuff, it was like, it was
like, well, I don't need sigma.

I can just get that.

I can, I just, I can
get it still looks good.

Mikey

Avery Phillips: lens or a Vioxx
lens or a serial lens, like.

Exactly.

All these other brands that you normally
wouldn't think would be that good.

Yeah.

Sam Yang Rokinon.

Yo, they're really separate their game up.

Lance John: Yeah.

So I can't

Avery Phillips: wait to
see what happens next year.

Lance John: Yeah.

So we'll see what like, and how all
that like kind of comes together there.

Mm-hmm.

Um, appreciate that.

But listen guys, if there is any like, um.

Production stuff you want us to
dive deep, dive into, uh, you

know, let us know in the comments.

We could talk more about it.

Um, we did not forget about that
whole thing with the road thing

and like trying to figure out
how to fix your audio or whatnot.

Uh, but one thing we did well, we
concluded in our test though we didn't,

we filmed it and then we stopped because.

It looks like it can't be done.

Wait, was this a test with the PS five?

Yeah, the PS five and then like
trying to get the audio into the

thing, it just wouldn't work.

And that was a whole production in itself.

It was like what the, like we were trying
to figure out a lot of things that like

worked differently on different computers.

I'm like, you know what, this,
this seems like a road problem.

And I would say contact,
picture the update and needs an

update contact road about that.

'cause we could not figure it out.

Um.

But anyway, guys, don't forget
to like, subscribe, comment.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, you know, you find us wherever,
podcasts, wherever you find podcasts.

We are there.

Avery Phillips: And also on Instagram.

Lance John: Yeah, also on Instagram.

So, you know, check us out there.

Avery Phillips: What's
the address on Instagram?

So you can't just say that
it's just at ISO Insiders.

Okay.

I was there dot between ISO and Insiders.

I

Lance John: don't think so.

These are what people wanna know.

Think it's just one word.

All right, there you go.

One big, but anyway.

Um, but yes.

You know, let us know what you
want us to talk about in the

next one, and until then, peace.
