In this episode, five our our members from across California (Hazel, Cali, Katera, Ashely, and Addy) go head to head in a Draft, where they each pick five of their favorite things. The catch? They can't pick anything the other person picked! Topics include colors, favorite side dishes, TV shows, sodas, Disney songs, and Disney Characters!

 Welcome back to Let's Talk About Leadership, Service, and Sisterhood, a podcast for teens by teens, where we discuss topics that matter to us. I'm your host, Ashley, and I'm a member of the PR team for California Rainbow.

I am Hazel. I'm a part of San Jose Assembly, and I'm also the Grand Valley Associate Advisor, Historian, and Representative to Colorado and Nevada. I'm Katera, and I'm from Vancouver Assembly.

My name is Addie and I am the grand musician and representative to New Jersey and New York, and, I'm a part of San Buenaventura Assembly. Hi, my name is Callie. I'm a Passworthy Advisor of San Buenaventura Assembly.

We are members of California IORG, a leadership and service organization for girls ages 11 to 20.

In today's episode, we'll be holding a draft. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, we'll be choosing a topic. Two of us will compete. And choose our top five for that topic. Welcome. Hi. Hi. Oh, hi. So let's jump in. Let's head to the Wheel of Doom. Oh my goodness! The Wheel of Doom?!

Oh, my gosh. Here it comes. Don't pick me. Who is it gonna be? It's gonna be Hazel.

Oh, wow. It's going so fast. It goes really fast. Oh

So now, it's Hazel against Callie. But what topic may I have? Ooh, let's see. Let's see what the topic is. I'm so excited. It's like a whirlwind of colors.

I know, right? It's so pretty. Oh! TV shows! Oh no! TV shows. Is that favorite snacks? It says favorite snacks. It's When you go to, like, a restaurant, what's your favorite side dish? Oh, okay. I have some really good sides.

So Hazel will go first. So, your number one side dish. My number one side dish? I used to only get it when I was younger, but it was, like, a bowl of frozen grapes. That's cool. I just tried frozen grapes, actually. They're like, I don't know how to feel about them.

I'm so sorry. Okay, my number one is probably mashed potatoes. I'm obsessed with mashed potatoes. Specifically red skinned mashed potatoes. Ooh. Aw. All right. Your turn. Okay. For my second, I'll probably go with, on the topic of potatoes, I would say sweet potato fries.

Okay. Okay. I actually don't like sweet potato fries. So we're like complete opposites right now and I'm loving it. I know. Um, my second, I think, I've had some really good, like, sautéed mushrooms. It was like garlic sautéed mushrooms. That was really good. Mmm. Okay. Your turn. Okay. Next I would probably choose, a basic like Caesar salad. That's, that's a good one. Um, my third would probably be. You know, like the kid's portion of Kraft Mac and Cheese? Mmm. That's pretty good. That'd be my number three. Specifically the kid's portion? Well, I, cause it's like, it's like the same size.

Like the adult side is like a kid's portion. Yeah, the little tiny bowl.

My number four ... I'm gonna say brussel sprouts, like a good roasted brussel sprouts. Pretty good. Um, my number four... Is garlic bread. That's delicious. It sounds good. Yeah. Wow. Let's see. I feel like for my last one, I'd probably just go with like, barbecue baked beans.

She likes baked beans, I don't. Okay. But that's okay. For my fifth one, I don't think I've ever had this as a side, but I feel like it would be such a good side and that would be vanilla bean ice cream. What? I don't know why. On the side of a dessert, or what?

I don't know, just as like a side. I feel like I could have like a bowl of soup and then randomly just have a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream. I'm so weird. I should have said soup for a side. Those all sound good, but Hazel, I think she kind of got you with the garlic bread. No, I didn't even think about garlic bread. Cause like bread in general, like Hazel. You missed out here, girly. You started to say, like, the bruh for brussel sprouts, and it was like, bread.

You gave her the idea. Yeah, All good options. Now we're back to... The Wheel of Doom.

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Ashley, I really want to win.

oh. Is it Katera? Oh my goodness! Those Vacaville girls are in a rivalry now. Oh my goodness. I'm gonna win this one. What do you mean you're gonna win this one? Not for the topic.

No, because I already got in my mind what I want. Okay. Number one pick, without a doubt, Dr. Pepper. Are you kidding? I was gonna say that. Yeah. Dr. Pepper, my number one. Mwah. Whoa. Guess what my number one is. Fanta. Okay. Okay.

Fanta. Mm hmm. What orange you orange? I get it. My number two. Cherry Coke.

Oh yeah? Cherry Coke is delish. Oh yeah, really? My number two...

Mountain Dew? Now you've lost me. I don't like Mountain Dew. What?! Well, I don't like your Cherry Coke. Cherry Coke is delicious. You're just mad that I don't like Mountain Dew. Anyways, my number three will be Coke. Oh, sorry, my number thing, . You're really losing me. Kate. You've lost me at Coke. I'm just saying Cherry Coke is delicious. Cherry Coke is goba. Personally, root beer isn't my thing. Root beer is a good one though, I have to say that. I love root beer.

It hurts to drink. Like fizzes up your entire, like nervous system.

My number four, since you took my Fanta, I'll take an orange crush. I don't like that. Ooh! It's the same thing! You can taste the difference between Fanta and Orange Crush. If you gave me an orange Fanta and an orange crush, I would no diddly squat about which is which. Mm mm. If I'm being so serious, I would have zero clue in the entire world.

Okay, my number four. I'm running out of ideas, but

Ooh You stole my pick. But actually, I have a backup. No, you don't I don't My backup Is like the ginger ale and the starry because they're like the same thing. Sometimes ginger ale just hits. Yes! Sorry. You see? Ginger ale girlies.

That's what I get on the airplane. Someone told her it was an old person drink. Yes, someone did. I was on an airplane and they're like, That's an old person drink and I was like, Thanks! Okay, you know what? If it's an old person drink, it's like the fancy old people that like, they have on like all the fancy stuff and everything.

It's a fancy person drink. Okay, well, , the Mexican soda? Oh! OMGZs. Wait. I don't know if I'm allowed to put these? Oh, those ones ! No. Oh! Okay. Like the, like the drinks like Jarritos okay.

That's good. Hey! Those were some good picks.

The Wheel of Doom!

It's her again! Hold it! Congratulations! Who am I against this time? saw Addy in here. Who am I against this time? Addy! Addy! Addy!

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Addie! Oh my gosh, Addie! Wow! Congratulations! Yay! Wheel of Doom!

That's funny. I wonder what category you guys are gonna get. OOOoohhh... GASP I'm a witness! I wonder what color she's gonna pick. I wonder.

Colors. Such a good category. Colors. So, Katera, you start. First favorite color? Pink. Ooh, okay. I like that one. Okay, um. First favorite color? Yellow. 100 percent. uh, second favorite color, teal. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, yellow and teal look beautiful together.

They do. Just saying, just saying. Okay, second favorite color, sage green. That's amazing. It's pretty. Okay, uh, third favorite color, Like a lavender. That's a good one. Um, okay, third favorite color for me, I like sky blue. That's a good color.

Yeah. Okay, fourth favorite color, probably red. Like a duck. Oh my smelly head.

Okay. I, I ran out of colors. Hold on. No, I didn't run out. Chachachachacha, chachachacha, chachachacha.

I really like, like, a navy blue. But it's like, it's like, more on the dusty side of Navy, you know? Um, yeah, I can see that. Say black. I'm not emo. Did you say you're not emo? I'm not emo. Um, light orange. Like, you know the, how golden I was? Like that, like that type of color. I can't, I don't know how to explain it.

That's funny. I was just going to say, you know, the, it's not an orange. It's a citrus. The color of grapefruit, but that's kind of the same thing that you just said. So I think I have to pick something else.

Kind of coral? Yes. Perfect. Coral. Thank you. I love the color coral. Actually, when we first moved into this house, our bedroom was painted yellow on the top.

Because my favorite color was, is yellow, and I was on the top bunk, and then my brother, his favorite color is green, so the bottom was green, because he was on the bottom bunk, and in the middle, there was like a little white, thing that went around the whole room, and the center of that was painted coral, Those colors looked very beautiful together,

What was everyone's like childhood room color? Because mine was like pink. Mine's pink and purple. Was ours yellow? Ours in the old house was white. . I thought it was yellow.

Maybe it was. I think mine was like, a light purple, and then like, it was like a dark purple, but it wasn't like an average.

Yeah. Ooh, hazel. That's pretty. What color was yours? My very first one, it was either there was like those, you know, those glow stars or something. There was that but then there was also like a blue base with like clouds on it.

You know what time it is? What time is it? Oh my gosh, what time is it? Four. Oh my god. Oh my god. Time for the Wheel of Doom! Oh my goodness! Oh no! Oh, it's me! It's me! You know that Barbie thing where it's like, it's like, It's me! It's me! It's probably not me.

Who will it be? Oh my gosh!

Oh, I'm phased! It's Katera! Yay! Katera,

Ooh, what's now? What is it gonna be? Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh. That was food relative. Oh my God. I love food so much. Do you love food? Yeah, I'm actually so hungry. Okay. Um, my favorite food is probably kettle brand-specific salt and vinegar chips. Those are probably good.

My first favorite food, spaghetti. Spaghetti's really good. I love spaghetti. Without the meatballs. I just don't like meatballs. I feel like I never eat spaghetti with meatballs. It's weird. The meatballs are literally the best part. Literally what I'm saying! What do you mean no meatballs? That's, that's like the whole thing.

Spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs inside of noodles. Exactly. Like, where is the flavor? I can eat it. I can eat it with the meatballs, but it's just like, I don't particularly like it.

I think my number two is probably

Alfredo, fettuccine alfredo. It's so good. That sounds delicious.

I don't know if anybody knows this, but Chicken Motel. I feel like I've heard of it. It's like chicken, noodles, tomatoes. It's really good. My mom would say. You guys should come on sounds pretty good. Yeah. Invite me. Invite me, please. When I was at her house, her mom literally cooked and it was so delish.

Mmm. My mom's an amazing cook. My third is probably the cherry Garcia. From 31 Flavors. That is some good ice cream. Yup. Is 31 Flavors Baskin Robbins? Yeah, Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors. I have never in my life heard someone call it 31 Flavors.

31 Flavors? Really? Yeah, I feel like I've heard them interchangeably, but I hear 31 Flavors more. Really? Did you know that that's because they originally started with 31 Flavors?

That's crazy. At least that's what I heard. And I think they try and continuously keep that number. That's cool. But I could be wrong.

Okay.

My third favorite food is probably the chocolate croissant from Starbucks. Star beans. I love Starbucks. I love croissants, they're so good. They are the best thing to exist. The chocolate croissants, the warm chocolate croissants, like, on a Sunday morning, or like a Saturday morning, , the best thing.

Yeah? Yeah. That sounds really good. Amazing. . Um, I really like lasagna. That's my fourth one. Lasagna is so good, man. I want that right now. Lasagna sounds really good right now. Actually. Lasagna is delicious. We should all meet up and make lasagna right now.

Mm-hmm. . Yes. You know what? I don't care how far away you've lived. How far we have to drive for the lasagna. Okay, your turn. Um, my fourth favorite food? Do you guys know that like, Oh no, the tostinos. The pizza rolls. The pizza rolls? Those are my favorite. I've been having those like every single day for like the past week. I want to eat some of those. Those sound good. Someone in like third grade brought them to the class party and it was like they were the most popular kid ever.

Core memory. Um, my fifth and final one I might actually have an obsession with these, it's really bad. The Trader Joe's Chili and Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips, uh, aka TJ Talkies.

I love how you didn't get it until I said T. J. Takis. Yeah. They're so good. Ugh, I'm addicted. If you go to the right Trader Joe's. You'll find them before Callie's bought every bag in the store.

Okay, this is kind of embarrassing. So we have kind of a big family, right? And I fell in love with them, right? And then I introduced them to my family. For like a gift, my rainbow dad went all around Ventura County and bought all of the Trader Joe's Takis in Ventura County, and gave them to me. It lasted for like half the year. Half a year? No, less than that. . For like three months. Three months?

It was crazy. It was so good. I was in heaven. Katera, go ahead. Okay, I was gonna say the breakfast sausage and pancake from my fifth. You guys know what I'm talking about? It's like the sausage on a stick wrapped in a pancake. had that before. With syrup, So good. That's really good. I've never actually had that, but that sounds really good. You have had that, have I?

Ooh. It's a corndog pancake? It's like a corndog. But a pancake? But it's breakfast. Mmm. Pancake. I don't like corndogs. Sausage on a stick. I don't like corndogs either, but like. That is different.

Okay, back to the wheel. It's gonna be Ashley. Ashley! This is the way I get picked as I shove a cheeseburger in my mouth.

Yay! Oh my gosh. Hazel. Me and you. Oh and Jeezy's.

Oh my gosh, wait, I love all of these. Pick a good one. Please.

I don't know.

So for this one, we're gonna do like a little karaoke style. Okay, okay. So we're gonna sing, we're gonna sing like a little bit of the song. I need to think about what my first song would be. Moana!

Did you say Moana? No.

That was, that was funny. Poor unfortunate souls in pain in need This one longing to be thinner That one wants to get the girl And do I help them? Yes indeed. Poor Unfortunate Souls is so good. Why are you shaking your head, Hazel? Wait, what movie is that from again?

Oh my gosh. Hazel! What's your song, Hazel?

I feel like the person that like pops into my head is from Frozen. It sounds like, Oh my life has been a series of doors in my face And then suddenly I bumped into you I love that song. It must have been the same thing. Cause like, Cause like, I've been searching my whole life to find my own place No, cause that's so good.

The love is an open door. Yes. Okay, that's a good point. I literally wasn't thinking about what I want next.

I almost said the song from the Lorax.

That would've been embarrassing. Cause I was about to, like, sing the good morning part too.

Moana. I'm not picking Moana. Nothing from that soundtrack is gonna be on my top five. It's a bop, but it's not that good.

I'm going to pick almost there from Princess and the Frog. Cause, It's such a good song. Sing it. Why?

Go. It's your turn. Okay. I love Prince and the Frog. But it's gonna take you there. You know that song's like, We're gonna take ya. We're gonna take ya. We're gonna take ya all the way down. Going down the mine.

Going down the mine. Going down the mine. I can, like, see them, like, dancing. Oh my gosh, what's that one song from that one movie that was specific?

Okay, this is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Like the, this is Halloween, this is Halloween. Cause that's a good song. I've never seen that movie before. Really? Really? Okay, here's what I'm gonna say. I do not care for the movie. I care for the characters and like, the design behind it. Okay. That's all I can say. Hazel? Okay, mine is gonna be from.. The Jungle Book. Cool. Look for the bare necessities. Okay, that's good. There are no worries in this world. I love that song. I mean, What number are we on four? Yes.

Number four is gonna be Go the Distance from Hercules. Okay. I am on my way. I can't remember the dress. I love that song. It's just such a beautiful song. It is. Very, oh, you know. Mm hmm. Yes, exactly. That adventure. Mm hmm. Yeah. It slays. Mm hmm. Agree. Hazel? Okay. Have any of you guys watched the Mary Poppins Returns movie?

Yes. Yes. Okay. Well, there's this like one song that I like, used to always sing. It was like, I don't know if it was like, just the like, mood of it or something, but it was just like stuck in my head for a long time. But it's, a cover is not the book. Do you know what I'm talking about? A cover is not the book, so I'll open it up and take a look.

Under the cover, you'll discover... Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Okay. That sounds like a ball. It is. No, I love it. I'm gonna have to watch that movie. I heard it wasn't that good. Really? It was like one of my favorite movies. Like, I re-watched it like over and over.

Wanna know a Disney movie I love that no one talks about? The Emperor's New Groove. Oh, I've seen that one. I love that movie so much. And no one knows it. Frog lover crook.

I love that movie. Sorry. Sometimes I just watch those clips. Oh! Okay, my last one is gonna be Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beast. That's a good one. Because it's such a classic. And you know what? It can be any version.

It can be the original version from the remake. Or it could be like, even like the Ariana Grande one. You know? The version can change depending on how you're feeling. A little skit, neither one prepared. Beauty and the Beast. That was so beautiful, Addy. Thank you. Thanks, thanks. Hazel,

Are we ready? Can I go? Please don't say mine. Are we ready? Wild Kratts wild Kratts is such a good. I don't know if you guys have ever watched it, but Wild Kratts Have you ever seen Wild Kratts? Oh, I think I was in love with Martin Yes, she was going to marry Chris.

It's a, it's a TV show. A nature TV show. A nature TV show. It's a cartoon. Yeah. Yeah. Cartoon. And there's these two brothers. And they go on adventures and save animals. And each episode has a different animal. And they have this amazing, it's, it's a ship that they like get in and it's in the shape of a turtle. It's really cute. And then they go on different adventures. It's cool. It's cool. It's a cool, amazing... Definitely recommend. Okay. Thank you. Um, my number one TV show is When Calls the Heart. Oh, I wouldn't have picked that one. Oh, okay. Well, I love When Calls the Heart. I love the clothing.

Yes. It's like a period piece. Yes. I love that TV show. I love that TV show. Okay, go ahead. Girl Meets World. Oh, that's like a good one. A good one. Your turn. I always mix up a girl meets world. The Best Friends Whenever Show. Oh! I like that one too. I've never seen that one. I loved that one and then it just like disappeared.

The problem is I watch movies more than I watch TV shows.

Okay, if we're going from Girl Meets World. I really like Liv and Maddie. Liv and Maddie's really good. That's a good one.

This is like so dumb because it's meant to be like a kid show. Um, but Julie and the Phantoms. That was pretty good. I don't know if anybody watched that, but I watched that. Okay, you were definitely blue y. Yeah, I think that's funny because the next one I'm gonna say is much more of a kid joke than that one.

Okay. No way! The Bernstein bears! The Banstein Bears are pretty darn good. I don't know if you've watched that. Every time we went to my kid's house. Yes. Yes, that's a good one. You guys ever made one?

Not about the Bernstein Bears. The H2O? Yeah. Oh, I remember that one. I just re-watched that over the summer. H2O and Mako Mermaids? Mmm. Yeah. We never actually finished it. We watched like random episodes. Um, I really liked My Little Pony, man. Oh! My Little Pony! Wait, what number are we on? Four? I think so. Okay. Yeah, four. , signing time with Alex and Leah. It's a pretty time and laughing time and dancing time and playing time. And now it is our favorite time signing time.

Come and play. That's a theme song. Yeah, that's a theme song. We watch that all the time. That's how I know Sign language. I don't think anybody hears used except for us . My number five is,

Slugterra. Slugterra? Slugterra. It's the human world, right? And then he goes down this sewage pipe because his dad died, right? And left him a note about all of this. Let's keep it positive, please. Let's keep it positive. He goes into this other world. It's called Slugterra. And there's a whole bunch of these little slug thingy mohawkers and their cuteness.

And They each have, like, a different power or whatever. it's kind of like Pokemon and like, slug matches. And different things. And it's really cool. And there's a bad guy.

Um, Strawberry Shortcake. Yeah. Strawberry Shortcake. There's like, the one where she has, she wears a hat and she wears, she has curly short red hair.

It's like pew pew pew. That girl's so sweet, just like her name. Strawberry shortcake. Strawberry shortcake. Yeah, that's a good one. She's so b b b berry. Extraordinary. She's strawberry shortcake. We're so entertaining. It's your turn, go number five. I already did number five.

No, you did number four. No, I said Strawberry shortcake, that was my fifth one. That's great. Anyway, TV shows. Guess what time it is? The last who will face that.

Hazel! You're up. Hazel versus who? Okay. Oh! Yay! Yes! Oh Nevermind!

I like Minnie Mouse.

Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Minnie Mouse is cool. What about you? Just a smidgey I think my favorite has to be, Belle from Beauty and the Beast. That's a good one. I like that one. That's good.

I like Remy from Ratatouille. Aww! I love Remy. Did you watch the Ratatouille musical? No. I just thought of the, you know, the rats from, from, Titanic? Are you for real? The Titanic rats? Oh my gosh.

Okay, second, um... Ariel. Ariel. That's good. Okay. My third has to be Olaf. Yeah! Olaf is cute. Olaf is so cute. You took my third one.

Ben. Sven. Sven. I love Sven. Fourth is... I love the song. Sorry. Um, I have to go with Stitch. I just love Stitch so much. I love Stitch. I love Flounder. Um,

Flounder. Oh, yeah. Mmm. I love him. I love Flounder. The fifth one, I'm gonna say Tiana. Just cause she's She's so determined, she like, gets her own money, she's a working woman, she's a girl boss, and she wears dresses. Yes! I love her. My fifth one is Moana.

I'm surprised. I am beyond shocked. So, this has been so much fun, I really hope that all of y'all enjoyed our drafts. I know that I particularly loved hearing all of your opinions, I loved doing the song one with Hazel, I thought it was cute,
