What is Chemistry For Your Life?

A podcast that helps you understand the fascinating chemistry hidden in your everyday life.

Have you ever wondered why onions make you cry? Or how soap gets your hands clean? What really is margarine, or why do trees change colors in the fall? Melissa is a chemist, and to answer these questions she started a podcast, called Chemistry for your life!

In each episode Melissa explains the chemistry behind one of life’s mysteries to Jam, who is definitely not a chemist, but she explains it in a way that is easy to understand, and totally fascinating.

If you’re someone who loves learning new things, or who wonders about the way the world works, then give us a listen.

Melissa:

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard about what's going on in the United States right now with the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. Although this isn't normally a space where we discuss current events, we believe that these are extenuating circumstances. And all of this has weighed really heavily on GM and me this week.

Jam:

In light of that, we didn't feel good about continuing with our planned episode as if all were normal. So we're taking some time to process, listen, Learn and have conversations about inequality in the US, and we'd love to invite you to do that with us. If you aren't already, please take this time to do that.

Melissa:

We love you guys, and we couldn't do the show without you. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen.
