You enjoy that? Yes. Good. Because that's what I mean by it. Okay. I don't mean anything ill. Or certainly not the forehead kiss of doom. Listen to this.

Okay. Yeah, a kiss on the forehead. Something usually seen as sweet affectionate. It is now being dubbed the forehead kiss of doom.

According to TikTokers, the kiss might signal the end of a relationship. Oh, no. Yeah. Users are joking that once you get one, a breakup is imminent. Oh, no.

From 48 hours to a week tops. Oh, no. Yeah, a lot of people sharing their personal stories, supporting the theory. Others pushing back saying forehead kisses are still romantic and meaningful. What are you talking about?

Yeah. I think what happens is somebody gets a forehead kiss and then they go, and then they're like, okay, fine. You don't like it. All right. I'll never do that again. And that starts a breakup.

Oh, no. Yeah. I think it's a nice gesture. Me too. I think it's sweet. I think it's a tender kiss.

I agree. It's nice. It is nice. It's one that you can do if you can get someone to smell your shirt. What? You go here to smell this and they lean in to smell it and kiss them on the forehead.

It's a good one. It's more on the top of the head. Yeah. You should try that with a co-worker today. Go what? Straight to HR. Yeah. Yeah.

You're going to be fired. Yeah. You kissed him on the head. Anyway, I don't see it as a forehead kiss of doom and I hope no one else does. Likewise. Apparently that's what's going around the internet these days.

The internet. Anyway, should we start the show? Let's do it. Let's go. Well, if you haven't opened up your social media feeds yet this morning, mine is just full of pictures of Northern Lights.

How about you? The same. Same.

I mean, even stuff from the National Weather Service in Pocatello to like weird news stations all around the world, including some locally. People, everybody I know went out and took pictures and there's a ton of Aurora posts. So if you didn't post it, you're missing out. And if you haven't been on your page yet, well, that's what you're going to see over and over and over and over.

Here's what's cool though. Well, if you missed out last night, tonight is supposed to be even brighter and bigger and like people down in Florida should be able to see it. Like it's the entire country. That's interesting. Yeah. It's pretty large. This solar storm that anyway, it's cool. I got to see it. I went out to even the front yard.

You did. I did not go to the front yard. I went to the backyard and we saw it. It wasn't as vivid as some of the pictures that I've seen, but it was still pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah.

Really neat.

And then I got real chilled. I noticed that. I didn't have any shoes on. You should have put on shoes. I should have, but I didn't have any that were slip-ons.

I, for a long time, had been meaning to get my slippers out of the tote in the garage that I had them in from when I went on the cutthroat slam the first time. Okay. And I just hadn't. And then last night I was like, I better go get those things. And so I actually did. I did a thing I've been meaning to do for weeks and weeks and weeks. Yeah. Finally broke that, let's not be lazy thing.

You went slip sliding away?

Sure did. Slipper sliding away? That's right. Anyway. Good job, bud. That's what my Facebook looks like. I'm sure yours is going to be the same. Same. I just refreshed just to see if I'd see more. Yep. There's some.

And it's great. They all look so beautiful. This is not a complaint. It's just funny. It's a shared experience, isn't it? It is. We all shared the Northern Lights experience.

Island Park. Somebody was up there and posted some stuff. That looks cool because they've got a darker sky. That's what I really wish is that I didn't have so much light pollution in the city. So I'm debating whether or not taking a trip to go do some stuff up north a little bit is worth it.

Are you? Yeah, let's go. Okay. Do we know the timing? I'll look at the timing for tonight because it was pretty early. You said you were seeing people post stuff really early.

Yeah. 630. I had some friends posting in American Falls. They could see it in American Falls at 630. Well, I'm excited. Some people were posting it like 7 in Lava Hot Springs.

That's cool. I would like to see it. I know the further north you are, the more visible it is without a camera. And if you can get, I want to walk out and see it and see the movement and stuff. I really want that experience. Me too. Because I like the, like what I've been able to see is really cool and the Aurora is really nice.

But you got to probably go to Canada for that. You think? Yeah. You're going to have to go to Canada. Where

the moose and the beavers are. Yeah. Welcome to Canada. All right. Well, even Joshua Tree National Park was able to see them last night. That's the kind of stuff I'm seeing on my feeds. Not even just local people. I'm seeing stuff from all over the country, which is cool.

It is cool. It's very beautiful.

All right. Well, good luck tonight. If you missed it last night and want to see it, you're supposed to be able to. Here's some good news for you. There is a barber shop in Spanish Fork and in Nephi, Utah. It's called branded barbers. And they donated a full day's earnings to High Flight Heroes, which is a charity group that helps veterans heal through outdoor experiences like snowmobiling and stuff like that, which is kind of cool.

Yeah. High Flight Heroes is the charity group. The owner of branded barbers, Shawnee Allred, calls the event a rally for the brave. And while she's not a veteran herself, many of her clients are. Over the years, she's listened to stories. And sometimes there are all kinds of stories that don't always get shared outside of the barber chair. She said, I love my clients. I get to know their families. I get to know their kids.

And the branded barbershop stayed busy throughout the day as customers sat down knowing that their visit was about more than just the haircut. This is the third year that she's done a similar effort raising more than 28,000 last year. Ooh, pretty incredible. She said, we'll keep doing it because it matters. They risk everything to give us freedoms we have today. So this is the least we can do to give back, which I think is really cool. So yeah. And it's just like kind of a neighborhood story. Just a little south of here in Spanish fork and Nephi, Utah, branded barbers. Well done. Good job. Doing the good work. I love it. Yep. It's good news.

We talked about a Jessica Rabbit movie that's coming out. That's right. And so last night you said, hey, do you want to watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I said, oh, sure. I haven't seen that since 1990.

Well, I have it on Deluxe DVD.

So, you know, collector's edition and all that.

What makes it so deluxe? Well, did you see all the things I was showing you? Kind of. I was half paying attention. It came with free tokens, Chuck E. Cheese. Oh yeah. That's right.

It has an autographed Roger and Jessica photo. There's a booklet of different detective clues.

Are the tokens still valid at Chuck E. Cheese? No idea. Let's go try it out. Where? At Chuck E. Cheese. Well we'd have to drive to one.

Looking around here like, you know something I don't?

We're going to have to drive to one. Okay. So, three minutes in I went, this is boring.

You did say that. You said, this movie's kind of boring. And I said, well, it's a noir detective movie. So yeah, that checks out. That's why it's boring. Yeah. I finished it. You fell asleep. But here's the thing. At the end of it, and if you remember how it ends with Christopher Lloyd's character.

He goes in the dip, right? Well, it's unveiled that he's a cartoon. And then he ends up in the dip. Sure. But that's kind of the big deal, right? Yeah, I forgot it was a cartoon. That's right.

So it's interesting because the movie's talking about being a prequel, right? The Jessica Rabbit movie? Correct. Yeah. So I'm curious to see, because we never know what cartoon was in Doom. What do you mean? We never know what his non-rubber suit form is. So I'd like to see what cartoon is in there.

So hopefully we get to that. See it at the end of that movie? No. How do you know it's a cartoon then?

Well, it's eyeballs mostly and that crazy high-pitched voice and laugh.

Yeah, yeah. And then... Vaguely remember that now. Okay. I should have probably stayed awake.

Yeah. Because then I was like, all right, now I'm curious. Now I kind of want to know, like the origin of Jessica Rabbit is one thing. Like, okay, great. But really, I want to get into, like, what happened before the story of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Now I'm kind of intrigued. I don't want to read the book because I don't. But I'm curious, yeah. Okay. What did you think about...did the show hold up?

Did the movie hold up?

Okay. I mean, the filming was cool. The cartoon layover stuff still good, which I think is great. Like, it's because they did real cartoon overlay. It looks good. The things that were weird were the obvious...I don't know if it's green screened or how they superimposed certain things, like the cartoon gun that they have. Looked wonky. Interesting. And I don't know, like it almost looked like weird foam. I don't know. That was a strange...

Well, and then when it came out, what, 88? I was seven years old. Look at you. Look at you. You were six. I know.

Depending on the time of year. Oh, geez. You threw in a six, seven too early for that.

I know. Well, okay. Do we know when the Jessica Rabbit movie is coming out?

Did I ever say? He just barely got back the right. So he's got a lot of work to do before we're even in production. So... Okay. But it was also interesting, like the people involved in that, that was Spielberg involved in that. Zemeckis, it was like a who's who. And it was actually really good. The movie? Yeah. I hadn't seen it in a while and I was like, yeah, this is still good.

We couldn't convince our kids to watch it with us.

That's fine. They would have been bored in the first 10 minutes.

They would have been. Because I was. But it's pretty good. I was still pretty impressed. There's some good, funny humor in there. I thought that that was good. It wasn't like, you know, like in kids movies now, they throw in some adult stuff for the parents. The kids probably won't get this. It'll just be over the kids' head. But it'll be funny and adults will laugh at that. It didn't have that because I don't think this was made for kids. It's not a kid movie.

But anyway, it was good. I enjoyed it. I had a good time.

Maybe I'll finish it tonight, but probably not.

Yeah. No, you're going to go back to whatever other show you're watching. I probably will. Yeah, checks out. But I will still own the Deluxe DVD. Wow.

Tonight, tomorrow and the next day. Until I get stolen because somebody wants it. Nobody's going to steal our DVD. It's pretty fancy.

Someone breaks in. The only thing missing is the DVD.

I really want that deluxe edition.

I'm going to find it. The whole place is turned upside down. There's nothing missing except the DVD. No. Then I got to get Eddie on the phone and get him to come do his detective work to figure out who stole Roger Rabbit. See, it's a whole new movie. I get it. Okay. Do you? I do.

All right. We've been experiencing a not so bad fall so far. It's been pretty lovely, hasn't it? It has been nice. You cannot say the same for other parts of the country, including in the Southeast, like Florida and that area.

This morning or yesterday morning, the coldest so early in fall since 1976 in Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia, both locations, 28 degrees. Oh, yeah. Right. We've been there. We've woken up to cold like that. Yes. Florida and Georgia aren't used to it. Miami was flirting with a record low, they say, coming up one degree short at 49 degrees.

Flirting. Mm-hmm. They were one degree away from a record low. The cold is causing South Florida's cold blooded iguanas to freeze. Oh, yeah. And then they lose muscle control. And then they fall out of the trees. Right. I've heard about this before.

And then they just lay there until they warm up. They warm up and then they're good to go. But so if you're walking around Florida on a cold morning, free iguana.

Careful. It might be a poison.

Don't put it in your coat and warm it up. Because it'll jump out. It's going to go, hey, I'm alive. Yeah, but you can get a free iguana if you're walking around.

Can you imagine how awful that must feel? Being frozen. To be frozen and then being like, I'm falling. I'm falling.

And there's nothing you can do about it. Nothing you can do. And then you just have to lay there frozen until you warm up. And then you warm up and you're like, yeah, let's do this.

Yeah. Well, and we haven't seen a lot of the snow that we have in past years by now. Sometimes it's been a lot. Sometimes it's been nothing. But up by the Great Lakes, they got up to a foot of snow just 50 miles south of Chicago. Which is a lot.

One to three inches of snow hit Chicago because of this lake effect coming off the Great Lakes. And then the appellations. They're not so great. I've seen them. The lakes, you saw one. And it was pretty big.

It was pretty great, actually. Several inches of snow piled up in the appellations from West Virginia to North Carolina and Tennessee since Monday. Knoxville, Tennessee.

Saw its earliest snow since 1996 on Monday. So we're in a good spot. I kind of like where we're at right now. Agreed. And hopefully we'll chill here for a little while.

It has been a really, we haven't had a fall like this in a really long time where it's just been a really nice kind of weather and we've just been able to enjoy the fall. Usually it's like, ah, it's snow so early that you're not able to even put away all your lawn furniture in time.

And I've had it put away for now a good couple of weeks. Yeah.

Way ahead of the game. I mean, you could have even kept it out. I guess. I almost went outside to read the other day because it was so nice. But I didn't have any patio furniture.

It's still there. No, there's. You can pull out an adder. They're just on the deck. The adder and decks are just there. So you can pull one of those out.

Oh, those ones are as comfortable as my padded chair.

Yeah, I did put away the padded chairs. The nice chairs are put away. And all the cushions are put away.

I could have also just gotten a camp chair and gotten that.

That's true. That is true. That's easy. Those are zero, you know, zero gravity. You just lean back like you're floating. That's nice. I could have. I didn't. Could have strung up a hammock.

I never remember how.

All the hooks are there. You're just going to have to get out a ladder and then.

I know, but I just never remember how. And then I didn't. I was home alone and I didn't even think about the hammock, but.

You don't get on a ladder when you're home alone. Not a good idea on the deck. Yeah, no way.

I know. Yeah. No one would have known where I even was.

I know. What is going on out here? Do we know? Is there anything weather wise that we need to be aware of in the next few days? No. Have you looked? No, I haven't. Is that on purpose?

I kind of just don't want to even know. I just want to be surprised when it does happen. Okay. Well, then I won't tell you. Okay. Don't say. I won't. Okay. Don't. Oh.

It's don't. I did do some grocery shopping last night. Nobody likes grocery shopping and Emory, I bribed Emory to come with me. And so as she and I were shopping while we walk into the store and I said, look that little kiosk over there that sells treats. We want to treat while we shop and she said, oh yeah. So of course we had to get a treat while we shop.

That's something you don't get when you shop with dad. I know. When you shop with dad, you get what you came to the store for and then you leave.

She knows. You got to treat yourself when you do things you don't want to do. Okay. That's the enjoyment of life.

So you got yourselves a little treat. So I looked at the

menu and I was looking at the menu and I go, oh, they've got seasonal stuff out. Do I want that cookie thing or do I want that cookie thing? And he said, I said, what do you prefer, this cookie drink or this cookie drink? And he said, uh, neither.

And I went, okay, what is your preferred preference? And he goes, oh, I like this thing. And a woman behind me in line says, he makes a really good one too. And I said, okay. And so then we had this pleasant exchange of, well, I'm going to go with that.

I will two high praise recommendations. And if you're the one who makes it the best in town, well, then by Joe, I got to get that. Tell me it was gross. And I said, as soon as I paid an order, I said, if this is awful, I'm going to be so mad at you. And she goes, now I really hope you like it. Yeah. So I picked it up. They made it. I picked it up. The woman was still standing in

line waiting for you to taste it. And I went, well, here goes nothing. And she goes, I feel like I need to run away.

Took a drink. I was like, this is delicious. Okay. All right. She passed. I go, you passed. I was going to be mad if I wasted, you know, it's expensive sometimes. But it was pretty delicious.

Well, good. And then you went and did your shopping. Did you finish it before you finished shopping? Yes. That's always the worst part.

I feel like it should last three quarters with ice. I know. We all know. Quit loading us up with ice. Yeah.

Drink a couple of things. I didn't want a bunch of ice. Give me half the amount of ice.

Exactly. Emery gets the pink drink that has dried strawberries in it. Right. And then she has to wait for all the ice to melt so she can dig out the dried strawberries at the bottom.

She was doing that in the kitchen at home. I just hear, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice. Radle, radle, radle, radle. Good grief. You have to get a treat while you're shopping. I guess. I'm doing it wrong.

You are doing it wrong. It's the whole, you've got to, if you're doing something you just like, you got to make it better with something you do like. That makes sense. I know it does. There's good logic in there. I know it. I know it.

I'll have to, I'll have to think about that.

Because nobody wants to grocery shop. And then the, when I checked out, the cashier says, do you want your book? And I went, oh yeah, my receipt. Thank you. Thank you. Now we better eat that food. Well, yeah. If we throw it away, I'm going to be so mad.

And then you made a delicious dinner. So with food that you would purchase while you're having a treat.

Thank you. Emery hates rotisserie chicken. She thinks that they smell really bad. It makes her like physically sick, the smell of them. And I said, it's already six 30. I don't want to go home and grill up some chicken.

So I'm just going to grab, and it's on sale because it goes on cheaper price later in the day because they just want to get rid of them. And so I said, I'm grabbing this rotisserie chicken and she went, oh, now I'm not going to eat dinner. And I went, you're not, you wouldn't have even known it was rotisserie unless you were here with me. She was mad at me. And then guess what?

She liked it. She liked the dinner. Yeah, because it was good. It was delicious. And I'm excited to have it for lunch. Marry me chicken soup. Yeah. One of the soups that I sent you in socials.

I know. I said, dad sent me this soup and she went, what?

I know. That's right. It was good. Thanks for bringing a treat home. You didn't go grocery shopping. So not worthy of a treat?

No. The people doing the hard things get the treat.

I was doing hard stuff at home. No. Louncing would have liked a treat.

Yeah, I bet. I'm sorry. But we were doing the hard thing. So we got the treat. We got the reward because we were doing the hard thing. All right. Sorry, Charlie. There are days when it's more difficult than others to be a parent. Such as? Yes.

When you've had not so great of a day and you come home and all you want to do is just veg out and doom scroll or take a warm bath or just be by yourself in a dark room and cry or just leave me alone. Just leave me alone. That's kind of the attitude that you have. Just leave me alone.

I just want to be left alone. But then you go home and your child has also had not so great of a day. So you have to rally yourself together and be like, okay, all right, I'm going to focus on you now. And you do and you rally yourself together and then you're like, okay, everyone's put together, grocery shopping's done, conversations were had, everyone's satisfied, everyone's doing their own thing now and you get two minutes to be by yourself finally. Finally, finally, finally. And then here comes the dog.

Yeah. Your little shadow buddy.

That's been alone all day and is like, hey, I'm in desperate need of attention too. What do you got for me? And you go, I can't, I cannot. I've got nothing left to give.

But she just needs a little love and by a little, I mean all of it. So much. And nonstop. Yeah.

And if you don't, I'm going to get in your face and tell you do. Yeah. Yeah.

I mean, but then she'll like roll her head. That's the thing that I'm trying to figure out why she started, when did she start doing that? It feels more recent that when you go to like itcher, like you scratch her back and then she like rolls her head down and then like pushes it into like the blanket or whatever. And you're like, can you even breathe in there? But she's like, this is where I would go when I get scratches.

She likes to bury your head. Yeah.

I don't, I don't know when that started happening. I don't either, but I kind of like it. I'm not mad about it. I think it's funny.

Anyway, so all those parents who were like, yeah, I can't, I can't do it today. And you rally yourself together and you do it anyway. Yeah, we see you high five to you. It's a tough job being a parent.

Well, and varying different degrees of it too. Right. Yeah. Babies are one thing. Toddlers are a whole different thing. Teenagers. What are they about?

My niece is dealing with a toddler right now. And her toddler is a toddler. And that is correct. Doing all the intrusive thoughts.

They're all winning at once.

She's a little feral. A little bit. But I like her.

Yeah. They were talking about how, uh, like when it came to pacifiers or bottles or whatever, like they can't find one that's intact because she chewed them all into pieces. I'm like, good grief.

It's an animal, but I love it.

Cause you're also a raccoon and a raccoon and a feral animal hang out together.

But it's also because I don't have to live with it.

Do I? I have to live with my own parenting struggles. I know. Every stage is as difficult as the next one or the prior one. That's right. That's building blocks. At some point it, it's going to flat line and be like just normal, right?

I don't think so. Josh. Great. I don't think so.

I think you're right. It's just going to get building and building and building and building. Yeah. The tower never topples. Never.

I hope it doesn't topple because that means bad things happen.

Well, no, but then you'd go back down to like a calmer base and you'd be like, this is where I'm going to stay for a while.

I don't think so. Cause I think, and then at that point you've got your kids are older adults with a whole new set of issues and then they're working on relationships and grandkids.

Then they, then they're having their own stuff.

Yeah, I know, but you still have to be around to parent to help. That's true. I can't even sometimes I'm like, what is this parenting thing? What did I sign up for? A life of worry and

frustration and, but also lots of hugs and nice moments.

I know there's some really, really great moments. Yep. But can I have two minutes in the dark alone to cry? Not to cry. Just more than two. I need like a half an hour. Give me like a half an hour at least every day.

Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. That's what I need.

So this morning there is a campaign that has launched with the community food basket in Idaho Falls and there's a couple of different things that are going on. But show up and share. I F is one of them. And what it says on the website, if you go to feed Idaho Falls dot org, great website, by the way, feed Idaho Falls dot org. You can write there on the main page. You can make a donation. They have a goal of raising $10,000 over the next couple of weeks to help out with a, an ever dwindling food supply.

They said that they had enough food to go until April and within a matter of a very short amount of time, they're down to where they have like 30 days of food or less. So it is a very, very big need that is happening right now at the community food basket in Idaho Falls. And I'm sure food baskets around the country as well, but specifically show up and share I F is a thing that the community food basket is, is doing. And they're asking the community to help them raise $10,000 to meet that growing demand for food assistance. And you can go to the website. You can donate right there. And what's cool is if you can donate whatever it is, they can turn a dollar into $4 and like 80 cents worth of food, right?
