[00:35 - 00:37]: You heard why we have this podcast.
[00:37 - 00:42]: And if you didn't, well, we have it because we want to inspire people working in-house.
[00:42 - 00:49]: We want to help the in-house legal teams work smarter, scale, and learn from each other.
[00:50 - 00:54]: This is what I hope you will get out of this podcast.
[00:55 - 00:57]: I am an attorney by background.
[00:57 - 01:02]: I've worked six years at a big law firm where I had clients like Google and Netflix and the HBO.
[01:03 - 01:10]: And then I went in-house, worked six years and built a team from myself, which really isn't a team, right?
[01:10 - 01:14]: But ended up with a team, a little below 50 people.
[01:15 - 01:25]: And managing not only the legal team, the privacy team, the compliance team, and being a part of such a growth during six years.
[01:26 - 01:29]: I learned a lot, but also struggled.
[01:30 - 01:38]: I felt the pain of sitting, firstly, one person supporting sales, then growing the team,
[01:38 - 01:53]: being cross borders and having to manage a lot of stakeholders, while also growing myself as a manager, as a senior member of the company.
[01:54 - 02:02]: And I kind of always wished that there was somebody out there that could tell me if I was doing the right thing.
[02:02 - 02:05]: Of course, I had a manager and he was amazing.
[02:05 - 02:10]: Absolutely the best manager you could ever hope for.
[02:11 - 02:13]: But I hoped to learn from others.
[02:14 - 02:25]: I would love to know what Intercom were doing, what Airbnb were doing, so I could get inspired and be even better at supporting the business.
[02:27 - 02:32]: And today I am a co-founder and the CEO of a legal tech company.
[02:32 - 02:43]: And one day I was sitting and just looking around for more information about what to do, not in terms of the company, but just again, growing myself.
[02:45 - 02:46]: And I couldn't find anything.
[02:47 - 02:58]: Then I started talking to a few people in the legal community, and they were sitting with the same feeling of not having somewhere they could go to find this information.
[02:58 - 03:03]: And I kind of like thought, we have to have a community.
[03:04 - 03:05]: We should have a community.
[03:06 - 03:16]: Why shouldn't we be sharing in the same way as the product communities are doing, as the designer communities are doing, or the marketeers?
[03:17 - 03:21]: And this is why we founded the Openli Community.
[03:22 - 03:25]: And when we asked the community what they wanted, they wanted a podcast.
[03:25 - 03:27]: And this is what you're listening to now.
[03:28 - 03:39]: What we'll do, if you didn't listen to the intro episode, is we're getting amazing inferential GCs on this podcast to share their life experiences, their insights.
[03:40 - 03:45]: And we'll get them to talk about topics that are of interest to you listening in.
[03:45 - 04:01]: So if you have anything sitting on top of mind where you're thinking, I would just love to know how people are using KPIs, how you're measuring success of your in-house legal team, how do you introduce legal operations?
[04:02 - 04:04]: How do you best negotiate contracts at scale?
[04:05 - 04:09]: What tools should I be using if I want to increase my productivity?
[04:10 - 04:11]: Or what shouldn't I be using?
[04:11 - 04:20]: And how do I grow myself, not only as a trusted advisor, but maybe also as a manager?
[04:21 - 04:22]: Well, we want to hear from you.
[04:23 - 04:32]: It's your needs, it's your wishes, and your hope that we are trying to support.
