Here is our main story on the Rated R safe news on the Rated R Safety show from Feature Story News in London. I'm Ollie Barrett. Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it has launched missiles and drones at 85American military sites across Bahrain and Kuwait, with air raid sirens sounding in both countries. The strikes came in retaliation for a wave of more than 80 US military strikes on Iranian targets, including air defense systems, coastal radar and more than 60 patrol boats in and around the Strait of Hormuz. Washington has also reimposed sanctions on Iranian oil, revoking concessions it had made as part of a ceasefire agreement that appears to be effectively collapsed. Conan Nolan, political correspondent with NBC News in Los Angeles, says President Trump miscalculated the scale of the challenge. It's unclear as to just how much this latest, this latest round, what it means for the ceasefire. It could, though, be the greatest test the president's gone through thus far. Marine Le Pens declared she will run for the French presidency in 2027, despite a Paris appeals court upholding her conviction for embezzling European Union funds. The court handed the hard right leader a three year jail term, two of them suspended, and ordered her to wear an electronic monitoring tag, but reduced her ban from public office to just 15 months. Peter Allen, reporting in Paris, says Le Pen stunned observers with her announcement live on tv. She absolutely amazed everybody. She appeared on live television and everybody thought she was going to hand her candidacy to a young man called Jordan Bardella of the National Rally Party. Why? Because a few hours earlier she had been definitively convicted of embezzlement by the Paris Appeal Court. In the UK, the governing Labour Party and opposition Conservatives and Liberal Democrats say they will not stand in a by being triggered by Nigel Farage. The reform UK leader is resigning as an MP to stand in a by election in Clacton. He says it's a fight against the establishment and denies any wrongdoing. As allegations swirl about his financial arrangements and donors, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper says Nigel Farage is having a political tantrum. This is a political stunt, isn't it? And it's like Nigel Farage has just decided, well, the normal rules in politics that say, do you know what, if you get millions of pounds in donations, you need to declare it because frankly, everybody needs to know there's not something dodgy going on. They need to know whether or not you know who it's come from, whether there's any conditions, what is going on, because that is just about the normal Rules of politics and it's what the public have a right to know. The UK says it's leading a $50 billion project to build a new long range missile to protect Europe. London's making the announcement at the NATO summit in ankara, along with 11 allies from bureaus worldwide. This is FSN. I'm Simon Marx. Looking today in more detail at the defeat suffered by Prince Harry, Elton John and several other high profile figures in their efforts to hold Britain's Daily Mail accountable for what they claimed was unlawful information gathering and invasion of privacy. On Tuesday, the country's High Court ruled against them, saying they needed to bring more convincing evidence in order to secure a legal win. Steve Kunsevich is a media lawyer, partner and head of creative, digital and media at law firm Glaziers LLP. They were serious allegations, allegations that included phone hacking, but also lots of other what was referred to as unlawful means for gathering private information. And there were serious allegations. Unfortunately, in this particular case, they weren't backed up where serious evidence, which is why the judge didn't find for any of the allegations that Prince Harry brought. So it's a pretty comprehensive defeat at this stage. Prince Harry's referred to the case as a whitewash. He's entitled to his view and it's not one that I agree with because again, there was. The evidence was tested, witnesses were cross examined and this was not a case that failed on a procedural point. They really did have their opportunity to test their claims in court. The more serious the allegation, the more robust the evidence needs to be. It just simply wasn't there here. Prince Harry and the other claimants are now facing estimated legal bills totaling 50 million pounds. After bringing the case, all of their claims were dismissed. Dozens of journalists and private investigators had been named in the case. I'm Simon Marks. Okay, so let's get into some stories because we got some time to talk about the things that are going on inside of the multiverse because that's kind of what we do around here. So where would you like to start today? Because there's so much information that we can go into which kind of makes it very interesting. So let's do this. Let's talk about this one because this was kind of interesting. The treasury the Treasury Department has officially ended the plan to feature Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Let's see how is it listed? Treasury Secretary Scott Bezan. Yes, Scott Bezan. Let's see, what was that? How did he word this? Because I don't want to with mess. I want to make sure that I do not mess this up. Had aimed to redesign the bill but was delayed during the President Trump's first administration and has now been dropped. Scott did not give a reason for the ending of the plan. He also noted that putting a living person, including President Trump, on the US Currency would require the act of Congress because of federal law prohibits living people from appearing on American money. The US launched a new round of airstrikes against Iran, saying that the strikes were retaliation for an attack on three commercial oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command said that the operation was meant to impose heavy costs on Iran for what it called an unprovoked attack on civilian shipping. Iran denied responsibility for the tanker attacks and condemned the US Response, calling the renewed oil sanctions a violation of the agreement with Washington. Explosions were reported in southern Iran, while Qatar and Saudi Arabia also criticized the attacks on the commercial vessels. So there you go. What do you think there? I'm just asking because it gets interesting as we are talking. Let's talk about this real good because this was kind of interesting. A family pet, a husky, is being hailed as a hero after chasing a bear away from a young boy in a driveway in Connecticut home. There's a security video that shows the bear getting within a feet within feet of a child before the dog charges in, barking and Even nipping near and sending it running. Neither the boy nor the dog were hurt. And they're grateful that the family says their fearless four legged friend protected the well deserved special treat after that occurred. Take a listen to this. Never underestimate. Hold on. The family dog. We're hearing from a Torrington dad after a bear came within just feet of his son in their driveway but was chased. Chased off by their husky. News 8's Julia Gorman shows us the video. Julia, you're seeing that video here behind me and it's just a few seconds caught on camera, but those couple of seconds were all it took for this family's dog to get in between a bear and their young child. Take a closer look at the video here. This is actually a slowed down version. So the child is there at the bottom. You see the husky come in between the bear and that kiddo and then move off to the right, right side of your screen. It's really incredible video to watch. Now we spoke with that boy's father who shared this video with us as well as DEEP about what to do if you end up in a similar scenario. She always puts herself like in between strangers and the kids. But you know, you always wonder in the back of your head like what's gonna happen if, if she needs to protect us. And now, now we know probably, probably a T bone or something like that she'll get to enjoy in that situation. The dog worked out perfectly. You know, it kind of made it an uncomfortable situation for the bear. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that well. So we usually advise people to try to keep their dogs, you know, somewhat contained or keep an eye on them. Now if you see a bear in your yard, you can report it to Deep so that they can use that information for research and bear management. Back to you guys. Hold on. Did they just say research and bear management? That's hilarious. Well, I mean, it's good that nothing happened to the kid. Let's, let's get, let's make sure that we're clear about that. And it's good that nothing happened to the dog. But is this really questions that you sit around and think, you know, if there was a bear that came to my yard, would my pet do something about it? Yesterday, major retailer Green told TMZ that Senator Mitch McConnell is a vegetable. And she also slams Mitch wife. Take a listen to what she had to say. I'd like to say shame on the Republican party for just basically staying silent while such a powerful Republican senator is basically laying in a hospital like a vegetable. But it doesn't surprise me from the establishment because this is what, this is what they saw. Support. They support people holding on to power until they're practically dead or do die in office. And this is why the state of our country is so pathetic. The Republican Party is all campaigning against communism right now. What about Elaine Chao? Elaine Chao flew to China and met with the Vice President just a few days after Mitch McConnell is practically died and went to the hospital. So when are we going to call out a possible communist Chinese spy? Right there. You're calling his wife a possible Chinese spy? Yes, yes, 100%. What woman leaves her husband's side while he is dead or dying in the hospital, flies to China and meets with the vice president? Answer me that. Okay, so interesting conspiracy theory or theory by Marjorie Taylor Greene in regards of what's going on? And it's just a theory because, hey, it's her words on what she's saying in regards to it. So what do you think? Here I am just asking the question because I always like to have a better understanding of what others are thinking. No doubt about that. Okay, so take a listen to this real quick. The White House has launched the 25 Freedom Fuel gas stations across the greater Philadelphia area selling gasoline for $3, about 32 cents below the national average, according to AAA, which they say it's $3.79. The administration promoted the station with a video featuring customers thanking President Trump for the lower prices. The world outcomes as gas prices remain a major concern ahead of November's midterm election. Fuel prices had surged earlier this year because the US Iran conflict and the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, but have eased since the cease fire agreement. The White House says the stations are intended to provide drivers with lower cost fuel in the region. So there you go. What do you think there? I mean, it's interesting. I mean, let's not lie. 32 of them. Oh no, 32 cents cheaper. 25 of them launched 25 Freedom Fuel gas stations. I mean, think about that for a moment. I want to understand this. So in the Philadelphia area, 25 Freedom Fuel gas stations. So is it called 25 or is there 25 total? Because if there's 25, that's a lot of gas station takeover that you're doing right there. I'm just saying. Anyways, let's continue talking as we're 23 minutes into this thing and let's talk about it because wtf. Welcome to Florida. A federal appeals court has ruled that Florida Stop woke act championed by Governor Ron DeSantis violates the First Amendment by restricting what professors can teach about race and gender at public colleges and universities. In a 2:1 decision, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals called the law breaking assertion of power that suppresses free speech in classrooms and upheld a lower court earlier block of the measure. The lawsuit were brought by free speech and civil rights groups including FIRE and the aclu. Florida officials have defended the law and state that could seek further appeals. So there you go. What do you think here? I mean, it's interesting on how some of these things go. I mean, just think about it for a moment. You had so many different changes that occurred also during the Biden administration of things that they were trying to change at the time and some things that were, they were trying to change during the first administration that Trump was under. So I do not know. I mean, I, I always look at this and go, what's right? What's wrong, what's indifferent? I do not know. I do not know. I mean, here's the weird thing about college or the good thing about college. The weird thing, the good thing, you kind of get an instructor that's out there, they're teaching certain things, people talk about it. And so then you kind of make a determination from that particular point on if you are interested in being involved, if you are interested in coming around and doing your thing. So there you go, some things to think about. Okay, so take a listen to this real quick. Millions of Americans are under air quality alerts as ground levels, ozone and wildfire smoke create unhealthy conditions across parts of Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana and Michigan. Talk about jumping around states there. Colorado is dealing with both wildfire smoke and high ozone levels, while the other states are primarily battling ozone population, or excuse me, population can't even talk pollution. Health officials are urging children, older adults and people with heart and lung conditions to limit outdoor activities, stay indoors when air quality worsens and watch for symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, chest tightness and irritated eyes. Residents are also being asked to reduce driving and avoid using gasoline powered equipment to help limit pollution. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Stop the Phone. Researchers at Boston University CTE center have diagnosed former Dallas Cowboy player Marion C. Leyland with stage one chronic traumatic. Let's just call it cte. It'll be easier after his death by suicide at age of 24. His family released the findings and raise awareness about the long term effects of effects of repeated head impacts in contact sports. Leyland's girlfriend, who has since given birth to their son, said that the diagnosis explains some of the struggles he may have been facing, while emphasizing that it does not define his life. Right now, here is our main story on the rated R safety show. Okay, a lot of stuff going on inside of the multiverse as we are hanging out on this lovely Whip Em Out Wednesday. And it's always time to talk about some weird things as we are doing stuff. And listen, I have to explain this because I had a hard time with this when I was in my younger version ality of my career. Now I will tell you, for the longest period of time as an employee, a team member, not a supervisor, manager, leader, whatever the hell you want to call it, I would refuse at work to fraternize with the people that I worked with. Let me say that one more time. For the longest time as I was working in my younger career, I refused to fraternize with people that I worked with. What do I mean when I say that? I mean I refused to hang out with people that I worked with to do stuff in my personal life because I never wanted to mix the two. And I did that for years and years and years and years and years and years and years and years and years and years before I decided to ever hang out with anyone who I worked with. Seriously. And the reason behind it is because I always thought it was kind of a strange thing to have to let someone go or be let go. And all of a sudden now your personal life might get involved with some of the stuff that you're doing at work and people know this about you and all that. And now that I'm a super private person when it comes to certain things, I mean, and we do this show every day. But it got to the point that I would refuse to do it. And people thought that it was extremely strange in regards of that occurring. I want to say as I look through this, there was an event that occurred and I decided to go to a person that I work with house because they were. This was when pay per views seemed to be outrageously, outrageously priced before they started getting into what they are now. And I decided to go do a hangout that they were doing at somebody's house. And ever since then, my Kind of my mind changed a little bit in regards of doing this. Now keep in mind, I am not bringing this up for the sole purpose of going, hey, let's understand what. How to fraternize with people at work. That's not what I'm saying. But what I want to bring up is the following. There are people inside of your workplace that might, might being the key word here. Have similar interests as you do outside of work. Now I want you to think about that for a moment. Similar interests outside of work. Now I want to bring this up because here's how this worked. At one point, because I refused to interact with people that I worked with outside of work. Anybody who I knew that was my friend, colleague or not colleague, but acquaintance or so on that was interested in working where I worked, I would not recommend. The reason behind it is because that person knew stuff about me and I did not want to have that interaction with people that I worked with. Think about that for a moment. Think about how messed up that is inside of the mental model. So why am I bringing this up today? I'm not saying, hey, let's go throw a party and let's fraternize with everybody that we work with. That's definitely not the case of what I'm saying. Well, what I'm saying is there are common interest that occur with people that you work with and you might not realize it. I will tell you in one particular portion, I was at a jiu jitsu class that all of a sudden a person that I worked with showed up. And I never knew that they were even interested in jiu jitsu or they even ranked in jiu jitsu. Let's be realistic. Not that you would go around saying that shit anyways, but here's the part that I want to talk about. I want to talk about that you might be a little bit more involved with people than what you actually think outside and inside of work. And listen, I know some odd things that occur sometimes inside of the workplaces because of relationships or personal relationships or relationships that you attempt that you essentially establish with people. But I want you to think about this. I want you to think about this from the standpoint of what makes the most logical sense of things to do. Because at the end of the day, here's how it goes. If you start doing things with people outside of the work, do you start looking at it from the standpoint that they will not respect you? And I can understand both sides of those coins, but I also want you to look at it from the standpoint of interacting with people and having common bond can help. And believe me, I am not trying to say sit there and form some level of a cult like exception there because that's definitely not something you want to do. But look at it from the standpoint is that there are interests inside of the workplace and outside of the workplace and at no point should one relationship interfere with the other. Meaning that if you have friendships, acquaintances that you work with outside of work, you do stuff that that you do should never have an impact on work. Now listen, I know that there are people that will position themselves in regards of hey, let's use this to see if I can get promoted, help and all that. This is not what we're talking about. What we're talking about is the common bond. Now you are aware that I talk a lot on this show, that we need to have some level of a knowledge base of things to talk about that are outside of safety before we start getting into a safety meeting with any. Because you need to talk to them about things that are going on inside of the real world before you start talking about some of this stuff that is going to entirely throw them off. And that's okay. But what I'm talking about here today is to truly have an understanding of not everything needs to only be about work at work. Yeah, you heard what I said there. Now think about how weird it is, those conversations that people have. They're talking about sporting events, they're talking about this event that's going on. And I shouldn't say that that's weird, but it's stuff that there is a common bond. And maybe that's the angle to look at. Maybe that's the thing. If your company can afford it or if they can do it. A company sponsored sporting event, maybe it was even a watch party. But it's just to be able to have that bond. Now I'm not going to say because you do this, there will be a higher level of care of how people will treat and be safer inside of the organization. Because there are some people that will say that. That's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is if you look at it from the standpoint that you can blend some of these things together, just realize that those personal interactions that you have with people on how normally they will tend to lay towards different things, they will tend to assist towards other things in regards of what they're looking at. They will look at the place and go this makes sense because they. And besides they actually care for me. They care for me as an individual, not just somebody who works here. Think about how that relationship changes when you start looking at it. I remember for the longest time all I ever wanted to do was walk into the workplace and walk out of the workplace because I didn't want to know shit about any of those people. Oops.
