Today’s Tanya portion is a gem, especially as we gather on Erev Pesach—what a profound day! It’s not only the day before our festival of freedom but also the birthday of the great Rambam, Maimonides.
In our study of chapter 40, we dive deep into the essence of mitzvah performance and the spirit behind it, known as kavanah. Think of kavanah as the wings that allow our actions—our Torah study and mitzvahs—to soar to heavenly heights. Without this focus, it’s like a bird trying to fly without wings.
We learn that while God fills all worlds equally, the divine presence is often concealed in our lowly world, Olam Hazeh. Just like a game of hide and seek, God hides, waiting for us to seek Him out amidst life’s distractions.
So, as we prepare for Pesach, let’s remember the importance of our intentions. When we study Torah or pray, let’s infuse those moments with kavanah, transforming everyday actions into divine connections. It’s all about elevating the mundane to the sacred! Happy Pesach!
