Good morning and

welcome to Morning Serial.

Okay, good morning

everyone and welcome to Thursday,

or as I affectionately

refer to it, Friday Eve.

And even though next week

many of us have a day off or two,

we are going to get in a holiday mood

with today's special days.

Are you ready for it?

It just so happens to be

National Game and Puzzle Week.

Now that's the one week it's socially

acceptable to get overly competitive

with your friends and

family about Scrabble,

or somebody who's

just hogging the puzzle.

Well, our quote today is

from a singer-songwriter

that seems to be reading our book review,

The Let Them Theory.

Now, Dirks Bentley said,

Now, Mel would be proud.

That's country wisdom at its finest.

Patience, resilience, and maybe throw in

a banjo just for fun.

Well, today's news facts and birthdays

are for November 20th.

Starting back in 1923, here's a name for

you, Garrett Morgan.

Don't know the name?

But you do know what he patented.

On this day in 1923, he patented the

three-position traffic signal.

Green means go, people.

All right, moving up to

1984, that's when on this day,

McDonald's celebrated that it made its 50

billionth hamburger.

Do you remember when they made those 50

billion served signs?

Well, they actually

stopped counting in 1994

when they made it over 100

billion hamburgers served.

Now, someone with too

much time on their hand

has estimated that McD's has

served over a trillion now.

All right, moving up to 1986, that's when

the World Health Organization

announced the first

global effort to combat AIDS.

That's a good thing.

Then finally on this day in

1990, that's when Home Alone,

it was dominating the box office,

giving every kid a blueprint for creative

defensive strategies.

Well, happy birthday to you.

Today is your birthday.

You share it with

rapper and songwriter future.

He's 41 today.

Perfect 10 and actress Bo Derek.

She's 69 today and former US president

and good old Uncle Joe, Joe Biden.

He's 83 today.

Now, even if you were

living under a rock in the 80s,

you're going to know the number one song.

The number one song on this date back in

1988 was Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi.

Now, this is a rock

anthem that shot to number one,

and it stayed there two weeks.

It's big hair, right?

It's big hooks, and it's even bigger

energy if you've ever been to a concert

or bar when they play this song.

And let me just follow up by saying,

where are all the rock songs these days?

Nobody does rock

anymore, Def Leve or Bon Jovi.

So many good ones.

Well, what I haven't lost is Mel Robbins,

The Let Them Theory book

for our book review.

And today's sub chapter is,

Let Them Show That It's Possible.

Now, in this chapter,

Robbins dives into inspiration,

and it's exactly how watching others

succeed can either spark envy

or awaken possibility within you.

She writes, quote, "Someone else living

your dream means it's doable,

not impossible," end quote.

Now, Mel urges readers to

drop the comparison trap

and turn admiration into motivation.

Okay? If they can do it, so can you.

Robbins shares how.

Early in her career, she used to resent

other speakers, okay?

And then, in the end, she realized that

they were proof that her path existed.

So she reframes seeing others win as an

invitation, not as an insult to her.

The key is shifting

from scarcity to abundance.

There's room for everyone at the table.

Success isn't a pie, it's sunlight.

You get it?

Robbins closes with a challenge.

Make a list of three

people who inspire you,

and then small action you

can take to follow their lead.

All right, here is your takeaway.

Other people's victories aren't threats.

There are trail markers

showing what's possible.

So, while you're solving life's puzzles

today, start with the edges, right?

And remember, every success story you see

is just another clue.

Keep piecing it together.

Your picture's coming along beautifully.

Well, we will see you

tomorrow on a Friday,

and until then, have a fantastic day.
