What is Tea From The Galaxy?

A thirst quenching podcast for the girls, gays, theys, & astrology baes where we talk about anything & EVERYTHING through an astrological lens.

Serena:

Hi, guys. Welcome to another episode of Tea from the Galaxy, a thirst quenching podcast for the Girls Gays theys and astrology baes where we talk about anything and everything through an astrological lens. So today, I have the beautiful Sofia Santucci. And thank you for coming on this podcast. I'm so excited.

Serena:

Well, first things first. Everyone that I have on this podcast are people who inspire me. So the more that I got to know you, the more that I was like, I love your story. I love, like, who you are as a person. You have your own spiritual brand, Sophie sanctuary.

Sofia:

Hi, Jay.

Serena:

You have your own positive affirmation deck. This is my daily affirmation deck that I use every day. Every day, I pick a card from your deck. I'm like, okay. What is the theme for today?

Serena:

What does the universe want me to hear today? I'll, like, clip it for that day, like, Monday through Friday. And then I look back what kind of messages the universe

Sofia:

Yeah.

Serena:

Wanted me to hear.

Sofia:

Sometimes doing that too, you, like, see a reoccurring pattern. Yeah. Like, this past week, was doing that every day, and I got four affirmations that all said the word opportunity. Interesting.

Serena:

Yeah. Two weeks ago, I kept pulling things about my mentality. Like my mentality creating my own reality. There was one I sent it to you. I was like, I pulled this card like three weeks in a row.

Serena:

My reality and my future depend on my words and mentality. Literally that hit that hit. You're like, who wrote that? I pulled that card, like, three weeks in a row, and it really made me reflect. I'm like, oh, why am I pulling these cards?

Serena:

So that's another reason that I like your deck too because each card that

Sofia:

you pull, you're it's makes you reflect. Diving deeper into, like, where you are at that current state.

Serena:

Yes.

Sofia:

Where I wanna be.

Serena:

Yeah. It forces you to dive deeper a 100% Yeah. Which I love. And then we can also dive deeper into your story. But first things first, a couple questions I like asking everyone on this podcast, your age, your sexual identity, your pronouns, and your big three.

Sofia:

Lovely. Okay. So my age, I'm 24. My pronouns, she, her. Sexual identity, I'm bi.

Sofia:

Big three. I'm definitely a Capricorn. Mhmm. I just found out my first time last night.

Serena:

Yes.

Sofia:

So I never learned my real other two.

Serena:

I'm so excited. And the reason that I didn't tell you what you were last night was because I was waiting for this podcast because I'm like, I'm gonna reveal your rising sun.

Sofia:

Because my parents never knew the time I was born. But ironically, my dad, like, surprised me last night. He flew into town for the night and I was like, do want my birth certificate? He's like, I actually do. I took a picture of it.

Sofia:

I was like, what? That's an astrologer's jackpot. Really? So divine timing.

Serena:

No. Literally. This is like a gender reveal except it's your rising reveal. My whole life. So your big three, I just looked it up last night, is actually you are a Capricorn sun, Aquarius moon, Scorpio rising.

Serena:

Okay. Scorpio rising. I'm also a Scorpio rising. That's why we just we we click. Scorpio rising.

Sofia:

This is weird. What's that mean?

Serena:

Scorpio Risings. I have a love hate relationship with being a Scorpio Rising. So your rising sign is how you perceive the world. So I think of your sun, moon, and rising sign as the three layers of who you are. Your sun sign is who you are consciously.

Serena:

It's your conscious wants. It's your ego and identity. Your moon sign is who you are subconsciously. It's who you are to your core and who you are emotionally. And then your rising sign is kind of like goggles that you wear to to navigate life.

Serena:

So although you're a Capricorn, you navigate life like a Scorpio. So how you perceive the world is like a Scorpio. If you read horoscopes, you should read not just for Capricorn but for Scorpio too. Because a lot of horoscopes go based off the rising sign. Scorpio of the water signs reminds me of the Intuitive witch.

Serena:

The vibe that it gives me is like your typical witch that you see in, like, Halloween time, like, Halloween movies. Like, that dark, mysterious, sexual, like, kind of Yeah. Will tell your future, and you're kind of scared of them, but, like, not really. At the same time, like, you wanna get to know them, but you're not you're never gonna truly know Mhmm. Who they are unless, like, you get really close to a Scorpio.

Serena:

Lana Del Rey. Don't know. Do you like Lana Del Rey?

Sofia:

Oh, I do.

Serena:

She's a Scorpio rising. So kinda like her vibe. I love and hate being a Scorpio rising because we are very strong beings. We're very resilient, but it's not an easy life to live because we go through a lot of death and rebirths throughout our lifetimes. Scorpio rules things of like that.

Serena:

It's the destruction of an ego and the rebuilding of a new one and then completely needing to destruct that one and, like, rebuilding. So Yeah. It causes us to be very strong beings. Mhmm. And a lot of people, you know, come to us for strength, but we are that because we go through so much.

Serena:

Yeah. Like, endings and beginnings and or betrayals. A lot of Scorpio Risings are prone to betrayal, unfortunately. They're laughing. Yeah.

Serena:

Stronger. Exactly. And makes us smarter and more wiser and more intuitive too.

Sofia:

So That's also gives us the space to be there for other people because we know what it's like to, like, be left. Yeah. So it's we're we're really good at being there for others.

Serena:

Exactly. We're very good at, like, just understanding Mhmm. Like, putting ourselves in other people's shoes because we've been there before. Yeah. We actually met, I think, two years ago when I first moved to Florida.

Serena:

Mhmm. I know you through my best friend, Gianna. Yeah. I grew up with G in Jersey. She moved here when we were seniors in high school.

Serena:

And then you met G.

Sofia:

So I got my hair down by G. She was, like, talking to me and feeling my vibe, she's like, you remind me of my best friend, and she just got her hair done before you.

Serena:

Isn't that funny? We're both Scorpio rhymes?

Sofia:

Yeah. And then she was like, she just dyed the same color of hair that I'm doing to you right now. And I'm like, that's crazy. I need to be friends with her. She's like, absolutely.

Sofia:

So she gave me your Instagram, and then I started checking you out, and I was like, oh my god. Like, she I could feel your vibe. I was like, she's into astrology, spirituality, beautiful. I'm like, we need to be friends. Yeah.

Sofia:

And then I started following you, but I was you were making candles. Yeah. And then I saw that you had, like, a pop up shop in Boca, and I was like, alright. Let me just go and

Serena:

Oh, yeah.

Sofia:

Go live. And I went and I got a little candle.

Serena:

Gianna was saying the same thing to me. She was like, I need you to meet this girl. You guys would be best friends. You guys are into, like, all the same things, spirituality. We both like going to the gym, and we both work nightlife, and but we're both spiritual beings.

Serena:

It's just like a lot of things lined up. She's like, you remind me of her. Then you went to my market and you bought a candle. I was like, oh, she's a real one. Do you want to give a little introduction?

Serena:

Sophie's Sanctuary, you, what you do, what you're into.

Sofia:

So Sophie's Sanctuary kinda started as a meeting point to just be provide space for my friends and for anyone because I'm also studying for counseling right now. Mhmm. So Sophie's Sanctuary in my mind was like just a space where people can come and feel safe and feel at peace. Talk to me as your girlfriend, like vent to me, what's going on? And then let me just cleanse you with my soundbows.

Sofia:

I love that. So it was just a space that I really wanted to provide for anyone to just come to me and feel seen and feel heard. Because I feel like sometimes in the mix of like the chaos and the matrix and just running around so much and chasing that stimulation, we forget to just like sit down and feel. And sometimes it's also hard to be vulnerable with people. So I wanted to be that friend and have and hold that space where people can do that.

Sofia:

Mhmm. And that's where Sophie's Sanctuary came. It's just a place for safety and peace. It's like mixing Counseling and spirituality. Yes.

Sofia:

That's exactly the goal.

Serena:

I love that. Yeah. I have a background in psychology. That is something that's always in the back of my mind. It's like combining astrology with something else, whether that's counseling or in the school system.

Serena:

Because I also used to work with children. Once I got into astrology, was like, bro, what if we combined understanding children better because we know their birth charts? Because every child, they learn differently,

Sofia:

and you can see that in their in their charts. And I think a lot of, you know, bridging the two of spirituality and science because you're you're also, like, reaching a broader audience. I can hear you out, and then I could do a card reading for you. Yeah. And you can call it art therapy if you really wanted to.

Sofia:

Because then you're depicting this image and seeing the messages that are, like, just intuitively coming to you. True. So it's like, even if you don't wanna look at it as a card reading, just look at it as art therapy.

Serena:

Mhmm. Yeah.

Sofia:

There's other perspectives that you could see it as to align with, like, the client or

Serena:

the person themselves. That's so interesting. I never thought of that perspective before. Yeah. No.

Serena:

I love that. Often when I do readings, I always tell people, make sure you are on top of your spiritual health just as much as you are your physical health, your mental health, your emotional health. Feel like spiritual health is the number one thing that a lot of people put on the back burner Yeah. Or don't even have a spiritual health regime. I know personally throughout my life, in the darkest time periods of my life, the most rock bottom time periods of my life, when all I had control of was my spirituality and leaning on my faith.

Serena:

Yeah. And your faith, whatever that means, you know, whatever you believe in. But having some type of spiritual health, some type of faith, some type of higher power to believe in has pulled me out of all of those dark pits of my life. Yeah. So I think that's also what you wanna do or what you're doing currently is bridging that and watering not just your emotional mental health, but also your spiritual health as well.

Serena:

So that's really cool. Definitely.

Sofia:

And when I connect with my friends like over the phone or I don't speak to them for a long time, the first question I ask is like, what are you doing for your mind, body, spirit?

Serena:

Yeah.

Sofia:

How are you mentally, physically, spiritually?

Serena:

Mhmm.

Sofia:

Because those are the three concepts that make us who we are, our identity.

Serena:

At the end of the day, we are spiritual beings. This is just our meat suit that we walk around in. This is a little bit of a morbid question. Have you ever been around someone as when they were dying? Or, like, someone who just died and, like, you went

Sofia:

to their wake or something like that? Yeah. Like an open casket? Uh-huh.

Serena:

Yeah. So when one of my dogs was passing away and we put her down and she was being put down in my arms, I literally felt her spirit, like, be lifted out of her body. Yeah. And that made me, one, validate what I already knew, that we're just spiritual beings, and that our spirit, like, goes into another universe, you know, around us, surrounding us too. But also, when I was younger, there was a lot of deaths in my family too, and I always felt like there are spirits Yeah.

Serena:

Around me. So that always made me believe that we're spiritual beings.

Sofia:

I relate to that. Growing up, I was pretty gifted and intuitive, so I always felt spirits. I actually grew up in, like, a haunted house. No way. Stories, like, insane.

Sofia:

Like, a gift of mine was I was actually able to see them and feel them. And then if I, like, closed my eyes and really tapped in, I could see the story of how what happened. Spooky. Scary.

Serena:

That is crazy, but so intriguing.

Sofia:

Yeah. I always like, my father knew kinda what was going on because if I'm just talking to the wall and they're like, that's not your friend. Yeah. That is. Like, they were kinda confused.

Sofia:

And what would you see? People, man. Like, just how we were talking is how I would talk.

Serena:

Like, kids or adults? Both. That's crazy.

Sofia:

Grandparent like, every anything. And it would either be them in, like, a peaceful state or, like, them completely in, like I just remember this one story kinda off topic, but she was covered in blood and just, like, screaming, like, help me. Help me. I was terrified. It was That

Serena:

is crazy. Ever since I was

Sofia:

a little kid, I was always brought into the world of spirituality. And then when my parents kinda knew, like, something was going on that they weren't completely understanding, that's when I was introduced to my spiritual mentor. Then as a kid, I was going to spiritual camp, like learning how to meditate, learning how to control this power of like, when these spirits just come up, how can I shut that down sometimes because it can

Serena:

be fearful? Wait. Spiritual camp, what is this?

Sofia:

Yes. I love talking about spiritual

Serena:

camp. What is that? I've never

Sofia:

heard of So I just my my spiritual mentor, like, she created it. It was literally in her house. Mhmm. We'd I wake up super early, go to her house. How old

Serena:

were you?

Sofia:

Eight to 10. Known her since I was, five. So I don't know. Old childhood's a blur.

Serena:

Shadow trauma.

Sofia:

We would just, you know, have tea very intentionally, what are the intentions today? What are we gonna do? Make some cereal. She'd start us off with, like, a guided meditation. So we learned some breathing techniques, and then for the rest of the day, it'd be, like, self care.

Sofia:

So, like, hair masks, going in the pool and doing some exercises, or one day we even camped outside in like I

Serena:

love the masks.

Sofia:

Like, it

Serena:

was just random spiritual stuff. Be her. No. She's cool.

Sofia:

She's thinking about doing an adult version. I was like, I am happy to help all my friends.

Serena:

Yeah. I would go. I wanna go to adult camp, spiritual camp.

Sofia:

But sometimes I just be inside, like, alone and just talking. And she's like, Sofia, why don't you join the people? And I'm like, no. I'm good here. I got my friends.

Sofia:

She's like, no.

Serena:

I'm very fresh in. Staring at school.

Sofia:

Literally. That that was just like a lot of my childhood, which is why I kinda shut it out for a

Serena:

long time.

Sofia:

Mhmm. It was just revolved around. Was crazy. It was scary at times, so I shut it out until getting older and kind of gaining that intuitive feelings back and seeing these angel numbers, kind of being curious about it, meditating again, seeing, like, spirits kind of pop up and tell me something. And I'm like, yo, did this happen to you?

Sofia:

And then they're like, yeah. And I'm like, oh, this is coming back.

Serena:

So This time around, learning how to maneuver the gifts instead of Yeah. Like, kind of fearing them a little

Sofia:

bit. Because I feel like as a child, like, all children and, you know, even animals are kind of intuitive, but it's uncontrolled. Mhmm. So getting older and being more aware that it was coming back, I was like, alright. Now I literally learned how to do this.

Sofia:

Mhmm. I just need to utilize it as a power Yes. And move forward with it.

Serena:

Well, first things first, water signs are known for being very intuitive. Well, I have similar experiences being a Scorpio rising too, just always being intuitive. But it wasn't until my adult years of me knowing how to maneuver it and learning how to, like, kind of decipher the the signs instead of fearing it or instead of lowering the voices.

Sofia:

Yeah.

Serena:

Because everyone's intuition rings in a different way. And for me, I realized now what feelings in my body I get when something is off. Because growing up, it would be randomly, I would get really moody or really agitated around, like, a

Sofia:

certain person or something. Now

Serena:

that I'm older, I know the certain emotion and certain feeling that I feel when I'm around someone out of nowhere for no reason is because that person is not holding good energy or they just did something or something is about to happen. Oh. But from an early age, your experience, spooky. It's spooky. Intriguing.

Serena:

Yeah. I was always intrigued by stuff like that. Like, I would always watch, like, ghost hunting shows and movies and stuff like that. Did you like like haunted, like scary movies growing up?

Sofia:

I did, but they always told me, like, never to watch it at the house.

Serena:

So I feel like that as an adult now. But growing up, I loved spooky movies. As an adult now, I'm like, there's certain scary movies I won't watch because I don't want to watch those.

Sofia:

You really gotta protect your energy.

Serena:

Yes. It's yeah. Huge thing. I saw Figure one time Mhmm. But I would always get messages in my dreams or hear things growing up when I was a kid.

Serena:

And my mom said that when I was a baby, I used to see my grandfather who passed away two weeks after I was born. Yeah. And then I would be talking, and I'm like, and my mom be like, who are you talking to? And I'm like, Poppy. Aw.

Serena:

That's so cute. So since I I feel like when you are young and you're exposed to, like, the spiritual realm, it's kinda like you're a chosen one, I feel like. And you have no choice. Yeah. Feel like you're I have no choice.

Serena:

How do you not believe in a spiritual realm when you've literally seen it Yeah. As a kid? You had your spiritual mentor. You went to Spiritual camp. Spiritual camp.

Serena:

Yeah. And then you kind of just suppressed it a little after that.

Sofia:

Definitely suppressed it. And then life just got hard, depression and anxiety. And I was just going through life suffering and just this mental entrapment of like darkness. Always called my depression like my shadow because it was like always following me. Starting in middle school is kind of the peak point of when it was.

Sofia:

Going into high school and then college. And college, I was like, I am getting out of my town. Like, I gotta just go. So I moved to Florida. I'm originally from New York.

Sofia:

Moved to Florida, and I said, I'm gonna be here, and I'm gonna be here with a different mindset. I'm gonna be a different person. I'm gonna just start over. And I saw this quote that said, life is only as good as your mindset. And at this point from high school into college, I was on antidepressants for about seven years.

Sofia:

And towards, like, my middle of college, I was like, I wanna get off. Like, I wasn't empathetic. I was always angry.

Serena:

Yeah. Did like you a robot?

Sofia:

Yeah. It was me.

Serena:

Yeah.

Sofia:

Me I didn't have an identity. Yeah. And I wanted to find that. I felt like there was something deeper inside, like, just trying to break through the skin and be like, the soul is here. Yeah.

Sofia:

And that moment came when I was in a relationship and he had broken up with me because he cheated on me. Boo. Boo. I had taken shrooms this one day and I couldn't stop thinking. I'm like, why wasn't I good enough?

Sofia:

Like, I kept thinking it was me. And then as I internalized it, it was six hours of just thinking one thought that kept leading into other questions of why. Why? Why? Until I got to the root that I didn't love myself enough.

Sofia:

That I allowed someone else to define my worth through external validation. That I made that promise to myself then, like I would not get into another relationship until I truly valued who I was as a person. Taking these mushrooms, I was like, what is this? Like, how did I just access such a deep part of my brain? How can that actually heal me?

Sofia:

And I started utilizing that as growth and pushing forward, I met this random guy at a random rave talking about microdosing mushrooms and the benefits of

Serena:

Shout out random guy, It's shout out my life, my poems. It's always after Reeves.

Sofia:

Mister Broome. Mister Broome. But he taught me about how he saved a lot of people's lives teaching them how to microdose. And I was like, telling him what I was going through. I was on antidepressants, and I'd love to try.

Sofia:

Mhmm. And he was like, here you go. And he gave me a few packs to try and taught me how

Serena:

to do it. Gave me

Sofia:

a little booklet that literally said how to microdose. Mhmm. And it took me two years to properly lean off my medication with the supplement of plant medicine. And after two years went by, I was finally able to say I'm not depressed. A stream advocate.

Sofia:

Microdosing has healed me. Just those little doses change the chemistry of your brain. They open up new neural pathways that we can't access without it. So that's really interesting. I've done a lot of research projects on them and submitted them into my school because I was like, this is what I want to do.

Sofia:

But alongside the microdosing is when you do trips, a lot of what I tell my friends and you know, people that I've influenced this onto is close your eyes because a lot of us, we do this substance and we live the human experience of like seeing these visuals and like having fun with it, you know, but it's taking that medicinal product and just closing your eyes because it allows you to get so deep into who you are and your brain. Like the things that you can come by, the trauma that you can heal, the person that you can become just from closing your eyes while doing a mushrooms trip is is amazing, infatuating. And I've had a lot of experiences with myself. I do most of my trips with my eyes closed, and it'll just be eight hours of, like, these insane visuals, you know, connecting with beings. I've entered different realms, seen gods and figures and angels and That's crazy.

Sofia:

It's it's amazing. Yeah. You're tapping in. You're you're truly tapping into the inside of you, the soul world. Yeah.

Sofia:

These, like, would speak to my mushrooms before going into anything. Like, what

Serena:

Oh, that's huge too. Yeah. Setting intentions.

Sofia:

Talk to it. Yeah. This came from Earth. Like, they are here for a reason. We're just losing sight of the medicinal purpose of it.

Sofia:

You know, because we're going out and barding and doing all these things.

Serena:

Yeah. Lot of people are abusing it

Sofia:

Yeah.

Serena:

Instead of using it We for

Sofia:

forget what the true sacricity comes from. Yes. And speaking to it beforehand, setting your intention, I always like to do it in a tea. Mhmm. And as I'm making this tea, I'm like putting in lemon, you know, that helps with the nausea.

Sofia:

Mhmm. And I'm stirring it, and I'm just saying like, clarity, abundance, what am I looking for? What am I going into this trip for? And this has empowered me so much that I've influenced it to other people where I'm like, hey, let me guide you through a trip. I'll ask them for their intention and we'll both put the intention into there.

Sofia:

They'll drink it. And I reassure them before going into anything, like, whatever you see is not real in this world. You know? You're safe because sometimes it could get scary.

Serena:

Sometimes when you tap

Sofia:

in have to go through the darkness to get to the light. Period. Knowing that your friend is beside you and is like, I got you. Whatever you see, I'm here to protect you. Mhmm.

Sofia:

I'm your guardian on the outside. Just go in. And that vulnerability allows you to tap into a different power, a different world, a different version of you, allowing your traumas to come up. My friend in Barcelona, who I met, he like saved my life when I was there, I was homeless for a little bit, was able to provide me his home and he's like my brother now. And I gifted him this diet and mushrooms trip and his experience was, it was really dark for him at first, he was scared, but he was reminded that I was right there and, like, nothing was real.

Sofia:

And he went through the darkness. He followed the light. And at that light that he followed was a fire. Sitting around the fire were different versions of him at different ages where he had experienced these traumatic events. And he was able to just talk to them, and he came out of it feeling so healed.

Sofia:

He was like, I was able to talk to myself at these different stages of my life. Another person that I have guided through, I brought them into a past life regression. Like, what happened in your past that is preventing you from moving forward in your future? You know? Or is there something you're still holding on to?

Sofia:

So bringing them into their past life to acknowledge and feel what that fear was or what was going on, they took that lesson, they were able to awaken out of the trip and be like, oh my god, that makes so much sense. This is how I need to move forward. So I think plant medicine, medicinal mushrooms, microdosing, or, you know, using using it intentionally and really meditating with it can completely transform your life.

Serena:

Yes. A 100%. That's why I I definitely wanted you to share that because you yourself used plant medicine to help wean off medication. Yeah. And then by tapping into this different realm of the world of your mind, of your subconscious, of past lives.

Serena:

That's crazy. I always talk about past life regressions that that people should get them done. I wanna get them done. A lot of people don't believe in them, but Mhmm. You can really learn about your your self where you're at currently in this lifetime, why you are the way that you are by reflecting on who you were in past lives.

Serena:

There's points in astrology that point to your past lives too. Yeah. They're called the the nodes. So it's a South Node and a North Node. And by studying the South Node, it shows you where you were in past lifetimes.

Serena:

And in this lifetime, it can come up and manifest as what feels most comfortable for you. But growth and comfortability can't coexist together. Your North Node is your higher self, point of destiny. Basically, it's who you're supposed to be if you were living in your highest potential at all times. To live in that highest potential, you have to completely move outside your comfort zone at all times.

Serena:

And it's not forgetting who you were in a past life. It's balancing that. It's taking what you already know and moving it into the unknown, like using it as your toolbox into the unknown. Yes. E.

Serena:

Right? Yeah. I'm a trademark that. Write that down. Write that down.

Serena:

I still see you doing that. Like, when I envision you in the future, I see you doing plant medicine guided trips and then, like, a counseling after talking about it after. Yeah. And also using your sound bowls, like, during the trips too. I don't know if you ever thought about doing that.

Sofia:

I I have not thought of that.

Serena:

Yes. I see you, like, doing that.

Sofia:

Yeah. That's definitely adding another level to Yes.

Serena:

I definitely want you to guide one of my trips. We're gonna have to do that. We're gonna do this. Yeah. And then we're gonna record another episode on what that was like.

Serena:

Good experience.

Sofia:

Yes. That journey carried into my soul calling of moving to Barcelona.

Serena:

I love this story of Barcelona. And this was, like, really the birth of your affirmation that I don't know. I'm such a big believer of everyone needs to go on a solo travel trip. Like, do it.

Sofia:

You have it. This is your sign.

Serena:

Yes. Just Sound. You it opens up your mind. It changes your perspective.

Sofia:

Yeah. You definitely dive into that. So I was working two jobs here, going to school. I had this intuitive feeling. I was like, my soul was calling to go somewhere, and I was calling to go to Spain.

Sofia:

I knew no one. I'd never been. Had no plan at all. So and when was this again? This was 2022.

Sofia:

Okay. I suppose about 22 years old. Making bread. Just graduated college too. So I'm like, I'm chilling right now.

Sofia:

And I told my parents, they're travelers as well. So told them I wanna move to Spain. They were like, alright, maybe try Barcelona. You know, a lot of people said it's beautiful. I was like, alright, cool.

Sofia:

Quit both my jobs, sold everything of my furniture, got a storage room unit for, like, everything else, and I was just ready to go to Barcelona. I didn't have a place to stay till the day before I left. This how you just followed your I was calling. Needed to go. Yeah.

Sofia:

Don't know.

Serena:

I just kinda was letting it Yeah. See this yes. If a city's calling your name, go. Like, just figure figure it out and go.

Sofia:

Yeah. So I went, and it literally changed my life. And I discovered who I was meant to be and who I am, and that was the most powerful thing. Every day of being alone, I journaled.

Serena:

Mhmm.

Sofia:

So I wrote, I think six journals to being there in a matter of And three I, you know, had a little park that I'd go to. I just experienced so much. Like, you go through life without I'm not looking at my phone, you know, I'm not working either. I'm literally living my life. Yeah.

Sofia:

And people always said like, why'd you go? I went to live my dream, you know. In the present, yeah. And it was so beautiful that every day I journaled, I would create these affirmations. I would get these downloads, which is a lot of what my deck is.

Sofia:

And when I was in Barcelona and I had these written things, I was like, alright. Maybe I can try, you know, making designs out of it. So because I literally wasn't working. So there was a time, you know, when I'm back at my crib, I'm like, what am I doing? Mhmm.

Sofia:

So that's when I got creative. Yeah. I had time to get creative into my purpose, into my passion. And I always loved affirmations. I'd go around passing them all the time.

Sofia:

Pick out pages for my journal and be like, oh, that's good. And then I'd put it on my iPad and start designing things that I would see and just kinda wanted to make it a certain theme as well.

Serena:

Yeah.

Sofia:

Because the They're deck, like you kinda see there's a consistent theme going on and that's how I really birthed the deck. The journey was lonely, you know, I was alone the So majority of the having me, myself and I, in my journal, in my paper and my pen was all I actually really needed to discover who I was what my purpose is to become. And I moved back into The States and that's when I realized you have to be part of the matrix as well. Yes. Because Spain was a soulful journey, but coming back here, you gotta be ready to work.

Serena:

Yeah. I have a little similar story where I was being called to go to Hawaii. This was 2021. Mhmm. Just a calling of, I need to go here.

Serena:

I I didn't wanna be like a tourist or anything. I just wanted to go. I didn't want to be disrespectful or anything. Like, I felt like a spiritual calling to go there. Stayed at a hostel.

Serena:

I only, like, walked on the beach, ate Hawaiian food, hung out with the people at the hostel. And that's really it. And I learned so much about myself. And when you're just in the present, you just feel so much more creative and secure. It was so beautiful, but I literally stayed there until I couldn't anymore because I ran out of money.

Serena:

Literally, I ran out like, I went zero doll I was pulling out money from my savings to to throw in my checkings. So I had to come back and I had a matrix time, unfortunately. Fast forward to now, and we're still having similar dilemma of how do we balance being spiritual beings in the matrix. So this has been a topic of discussion for you, like, past month. Right?

Serena:

What are some things that you're doing currently that helping you balance or what do you feel like you have to do? Currently,

Sofia:

you know, working two jobs, being in school, and trying to grow Sophie's Sanctuary, which is my soulful purpose. It can get really hard. Being a spiritual being in the matrix is understanding the conscious awareness that we have that we are the creator of our reality. Mhmm. You know, but then being in the matrix is like, you're being the creation of someone else's reality.

Sofia:

Yes. So it's like, but you can't start your own without that financial health, you know? Mhmm. Just real world shit. It's like, you need money to do anything.

Sofia:

Yes. And you have to do that until you can support your own passion. So now I'm in the matrix trying to just get all that I can so I can then support my own journey of spirituality. But in doing so, we get lost in the matrix, you know, chasing and working and that constant stimulation of money. That mindset of the matrix is, like, nine to five, five to nine nightlife.

Sofia:

Yes. But it's how do we get out? And getting out even for a brief moment of time is being with yourself, being in tune with your purpose and your spirituality or your faith, whatever you choose to believe. And what I currently do is I have my sanctuary set up with all my sound bowls. I have different card decks in there.

Sofia:

I have all my journals still laid out, you know, pen and paper, every corner of the house because that's how I tap in.

Serena:

Yeah. And Making sure it's always readily available.

Sofia:

Any download I get. Yeah. Sometimes it's really hard to just find time for myself or for my practice. But what I do find peaceful is doing my sound balls before sleeping. And that really kind of puts me at, like, a tranquil state of mind.

Sofia:

He goes running around all day. It's that constant rush. Kinda thrive in chaos sometimes. Yeah. And I hate to put that out there because then the universe starts sending me some things.

Sofia:

I'm like, oh. Times when I'm too overwhelmed and I'm like so stuck, intuitive message will come and it'll slap me in the face and I'll be like, sit down. Yeah. And that's kinda when I do my card readings. Like, even when I'm confused about anything, like, where's this job taking me?

Sofia:

Am I on the right journey? What is my next path? You know, we're always either thinking of the future or the past and forgetting to be in the present. So my card readings kinda help me do that even if it's just to myself. I love that.

Sofia:

And journaling, sound bowls, card readings, those would say is what keeps me balanced.

Serena:

Frequency. Listening to frequencies is something that I've been on the past, I wanna say, like, year, two years. But definitely the past couple months, I every time I

Sofia:

go to sleep, I'll listen to, like, frequencies

Serena:

on because I don't know how to play the cymbals, but I'll listen to frequencies on like, I'll just look it up on YouTube. You've never been to a sound bath before? Go to a sound bath.

Sofia:

Definitely.

Serena:

You just hosted one Yeah. Last Friday.

Sofia:

Yeah. Are you gonna host more? I'm gonna definitely try and host more. I I realized a lot with Sophie Sanctuary's project is it's scary. Yeah.

Sofia:

It's like, it's my own creations. It's no one telling me what to do. It's I'm have to put myself there and tell myself to do that. Starting any project, even a podcast or anything, it's comfort and growth cannot coexist. Yes.

Sofia:

You have to step out of your comfort zone and do things that scare you. So hosting those sound bowls, it felt so good to host for these people and my friends and be at the beach and just feel that reciprocation of the love. And as I was putting out there, I felt it coming back. I loved that. And I knew that I have I know I have to step into that more.

Sofia:

So I will be doing them more frequently.

Serena:

Yeah. No. Was so But happy for Yeah. Because I was so upset I couldn't go, but I was so happy that you were doing that because we previously had a conversation, like, couple weeks before how you felt stuck in The Matrix. So when I saw you release that, I'm Mhmm.

Serena:

I was happy that you were prioritizing Sophie's Sanctuary. I feel like you were getting stuck in the cycle of just work and Mhmm. And you're Capricorn. Capricorns are hard workers. They're dedicated.

Serena:

They're boss bitches, you know, but a lot of Capricorns can get stuck in the cycle of the matrix because they're constantly chasing the bag. But like what you said Yeah. I thought you were older than what you were. Yeah. To be honest, that's the big Capricorn thing too because you just have it.

Serena:

Like, she hasn't you have it together. Like, you honestly, you live in your own place, like, been living in your own place. You work two jobs. You definitely come off, like, more Mhmm. Older and wiser.

Serena:

And being a spiritual being is just consciously pulling yourself out of that or just learning how to balance it. Because like what you said, in order to pursue our dreams Mhmm. It is what it is. We need money. Yeah.

Serena:

So that's kinda like the cycle that I'm in right now where I have my goals, but I am a realist, and I'm like, I need money to, you know, make that happen. For me, I think it's just making sure weekly prioritizing your dream. Mhmm. Even if it's a few minutes out of the day, doing something every single day that is feeding your soul and feeding your higher purpose and your higher power is the steps to take in order to, you know, reach the highest point. Yeah.

Serena:

Because I feel like sometimes we can get lost in the bigger picture and some people just either completely give up. Mhmm. And they're like, you know, this is just unattainable for me. Yeah. Or they lean too much on the other way and they go chase it right away and they just move too quickly where it's like you weren't moving in a smart manner Mhmm.

Serena:

And you just kind of self destructed and self inflicted on everything. Yeah. So making sure you have the balance of I'm chasing my dreams, but I'm also being realistic. Also getting off of antidepressants. The year that I was on antidepressants, I literally felt like a robot.

Serena:

If you need to be on medication, medication does help. It does. Do I feel like it should be a forever thing? No. I don't believe in that.

Serena:

I don't think it should be a long term thing. I think it should be a very temporary thing. I did feel more tapped in once I stopped taking medication. Mhmm. And then a year later, once I stopped drinking too, I drinking and smoking.

Serena:

Yeah. I started remembering my dreams more. I just felt like a little bit way more tapped in, was getting messages everywhere. So I definitely believe in taking sea breaks, you know, going sober for some time periods.

Sofia:

So I feel like, you know, they always talk about drinking and calling it spirits. Yes. That's literally because it is taking a part of you. Mhmm. And it's just a lower vibrational where when you do kind of put a halt to that, your eyes are being opened to a lot more things, a lot more perspectives.

Serena:

Yeah. Isn't that so interesting how it's called spirits and then, you know, when you get really drunk and you blackout and you don't remember anything, it's kinda like where did you go? It's like leaving an open door of Yeah. Allowing any type of spirit to come in and, you know, just take over your body. Yeah.

Serena:

I saw I definitely believe in that. This is Chad GPT's point of view about being a spiritual being in the matrix. So the process of awakening. The journey of a spiritual being within the matrix involves recognizing the illusion nature of the perceived reality and seeking to understand one's true identity and potential. This awakening is often initiated by a feeling that something is quote unquote off or a deep sense of inquiry about the nature of existence, leading individuals to question their assumptions about the world around them.

Serena:

At your spiritual awakening, it's something that you can never turn your eyes off to.

Sofia:

That's true. Once you're there, you're gonna Yes.

Serena:

You start seeing the world differently. So I think that's another, like, way of maneuvering the matrix is don't try and turn it off. Like, if you're seeing through things, you're seeing through people, then kind of go the other way. You know what I mean? Like, find your people.

Serena:

Don't eat those certain foods anymore. Don't go into those places. Don't hang out with those people. Don't do certain things, you know. Being awoken to the matrix after, I feel like every single day consciously make decisions not falling into into the matrix.

Serena:

I know for me, like having the job and needing to work and needing to have your bills paid, that is like a big matrix thing until we were in our purpose. And Yeah. I believe that once you're in your purpose, money abundant will flow to you. Mhmm. I'm a big believer in that.

Serena:

But there's like a building there. So the working of the jobs as the matrix. But for me, everything else that I do, I don't want to fall into the matrix, if that makes sense. I mean, we're humans. I'm not perfect.

Serena:

I literally just vaped. You know? Like, certain foods, no. I won't eat. But certain products, I won't use.

Serena:

What's the point of our brain?

Sofia:

Penial gland? Yes. Penial. Penial glands. Penial

Serena:

Penial glands. Yeah. That connects to our third eye. Right? There's a lot of matrix products that fuck with the pineal gland.

Serena:

Yeah. So that's definitely something to be aware of.

Sofia:

Spiritual beings and, like, being on that high frequency, like, we're also human. Yeah. We do go out. You know? Nightlife is a scene

Serena:

that we're both in, and it's just learning to not get lost in it. How do you feel working in nightlife and being spiritual? Because I feel like the past few years, I just feel like I'm in such a tug of war Mhmm. With it. It's like sometimes I feel like I need to get out of it.

Serena:

It doesn't align with my higher self. And sometimes I'm just like, I love it though. Like a good source of income for me. I don't know where else I would get this type of income if I was to just leave right now and go somewhere else.

Sofia:

And definitely resonate with that. I feel like nightlife, it's an unexpected income. It's a blessing, but it's also really hard being so conscious and aware is because you do feel that frequency difference. Yeah. When I first started, I feel like it really affected me.

Sofia:

I wasn't protecting my energy as much. I was taking things really personal. I felt like a lost soul and just roaming around. And then I ended up quitting, moving to Barcelona. And when I came back into my life, I was like, alright.

Sofia:

I just gotta go into this with the confidence. I gotta go in with a purpose. Like, what is the purpose here? Yes. Yes.

Sofia:

Because nightlife, you can get so sucked into, let's just take a shot together. Yep. Then you're just meeting all these people. You don't wanna, like, hug everyone either. I used to wear a hematite ring, which a hematite is a crystal that protects negative energy.

Sofia:

So sometimes wearing a ring of it, they're known to break off. And I swear I went through, like, 15 because every time

Serena:

I too.

Sofia:

Someone's hand, broken. And I was like, what? I'm just gonna stop shaking people's hands and be

Serena:

like, hey, I'm Sylvia.

Sofia:

Like Me too. Keep that distance too. Always having boundaries in nightlife is important. Now I do have those boundaries. I've learned how to protect my energy, and I have a purpose with it.

Sofia:

It's like networking, connections, income, all of that. Even though I know it's not who I am, it doesn't align with me completely and my purpose. I am still young and I know that this income will get me to my dreams. Yes. Utilizing for that.

Serena:

Yeah. I think that was perfectly said because purpose and boundaries Mhmm. A 100%. Like, I think I had the realization last year where I was like, does this really align? And what do I do about that?

Serena:

And I just switched to mentality, and I was like, this is the purpose of my income, and these are the boundaries that I need to set. Not touching everyone that you come across a 100%, not falling into, let's take a shot. Let's drink. Let's drink after work. Let's, you know, this isn't that because I think also you work nightlife.

Serena:

You're you're surrounded by so many people, so many out so much alcohol, so many drugs. I've seen a lot of people just fall down a dark hole and just having those boundaries of I don't need to do that tonight. I don't need to go out after work tonight. I'm here for this reason because I'm gonna get here was the biggest learning lesson.

Sofia:

And I think also nightlife and you I know you can relate to the sobriety is, like, when you say, like, no. I'm not drinking. That is people's reactions, I swear, sometimes I wish I could record it. So I'm like, no. I don't drink.

Serena:

I'm like, how are you working in nightlife? Yes. How are you a bartender? No. I don't believe you.

Serena:

We're just saying that. Yeah. Yeah.

Sofia:

So it's all these different reactions, but sometimes holding that ground to, like, what you know you need to do for you is so empowering. And, like, that's what uplifts me more sometimes in some people, like, actually respect it. They're like, wow. Yeah. I really respect you.

Sofia:

It's not like I need external validation, but they understand where I'm coming from. It's like, alright. Good for you. You know? And sometimes you do need that.

Sofia:

Easy to get sucked into that world and everyone condemns you for like, yeah. Drink. Drink.

Serena:

You're a duck. You have your duck right here.

Sofia:

Sophie's sanctuary. Sophie's sanctuary.

Serena:

This is like you in a deck, honestly.

Sofia:

Me in a deck. Bring

Serena:

a pick a card. Yes. Let's see what our affirmation is for today. My card that I got. Embrace all that is and let go of all that was.

Serena:

I love that has the moon on it and a dragonfly. Moon and a dragonfly. That's me, my dragonfly. Oh my gosh. And the moon was literally screaming at me last night when

Sofia:

I walked outside. It says live within the moment, whether it's light or dark, day or night, happy or sad, confused or clear, honor the emotions you feel.

Serena:

I love

Sofia:

that's pretty accurate. Especially with, like, school right now, I'm like, am I doing the right thing to get to where I wanna go? Mhmm. I'm like, just gotta keep going. And then the next one that was sneaking behind it said, I release my worries and fears and I know that opportunity is near.

Sofia:

Hello. Yeah. 888. Yep. Oh, Lionsgate portal.

Sofia:

Oh.

Serena:

I think,

Sofia:

like, manifested so hard on that portal, and I got news today that an opportunity was presented to me, and I was like, wow.

Serena:

Yes, baby.

Sofia:

You doing its thing.

Serena:

Day day is powerful. Where can people find these decks?

Sofia:

Get They are gonna be released on Amazon. I do have to print a new order. Sophie sanctuary on Instagram. I'm gonna be posting them. You can always DM me, and I can ship out the order to you.

Sofia:

Or once I get more done and printed, I'll be posting that Amazon link because I've got

Serena:

to do that. Yeah. And I'll put all your socials, like, down below and everything so people can connect with you. What are your future goals with Sophie's Sanctuary?

Sofia:

Future goals is to be hosting hosting more more downbow healing. I just wanna get more consistent in that and, like, face the fears that I do have in that. Do more card readings, tap back into my spiritual being. Being a service to others is my purpose, and I know I need to just do that more. So if anyone, you know, is interested in card reading, I'm here to castle you too.

Serena:

Mhmm. I know. When you say card readings, what kind of card readings do you do?

Sofia:

So I do oracle card readings. I know there's, like, tarot and oracle. I love oracle. Yeah. And oracle, I just feel like there's more room for people to depict their own meaning.

Sofia:

Mhmm. And every time I do the readings, I like to have the person give their input first because it's like, what's your intuition telling you? Like, what do you see in this picture before I, like, channel and kinda tell you my perspective. I wanna hear from you. Yeah.

Sofia:

So I do oracle card readings. We were hanging out on

Serena:

the beach the one day, and you pulled cards for me. I really loved the reading Mhmm. That I got. After we hung out that day, I felt so almost cleansed in a way. It was like a good spiritual hangout.

Serena:

That's why I enjoy our friendship because I think it goes beyond just the normal, like Mhmm. Friends hanging out.

Sofia:

Like, it's hard to find people that kind of resonate to this world and who don't think you're crazy.

Serena:

Yeah. Literally. Or, like, understanding just

Sofia:

Yeah.

Serena:

What you're saying or even being open minded because we're both, like, spiritual, but then there's things that you know more about. And then I'm in the astrology world, and you don't know much about astrology, which a lot of people get confused that they think and everyone who's spiritual is, like, into astrology. You know, I'm someone who likes astrology and is also intrigued by spirituality, but I know a lot of astrologers who just like astrology and they they don't classify themselves as being spiritual. Astrology is more of like a science, I would say. It's the it's an observation of patterns.

Sofia:

I feel like a lot of times when people notice that I'm spiritual and I do the card readings and the bullet healings, they're like, oh, I'm a Libra. What does that mean? I'm like, I don't know what that means.

Serena:

Yeah. They're like, but but

Sofia:

you say you're spiritual. I'm like, yes, but I don't really know astrology like that.

Serena:

Or like me, people will be like, read my palm. I'm like, what? I'm like, I don't know shit about that. Like, what? You human.

Sofia:

Yeah. What I do value about our friendship is, like, I'm learning so much. Me. Speaking to you, conversation earlier, and just grasping that information. And it's like, when you meet people of our frequency, it's like we're all helping each other grow.

Sofia:

It's like, what's what's your passion? How can I support you in that? And how can that be reciprocated? And it's like, it's not expected, but it's always returned. Yeah.

Sofia:

And that's the beauty in like real deep friendships that run deeper than the human. It's like, this is a soulful connection, and now we have this soulful purpose that we'll be able to help each other reach.

Serena:

Yes. Because we both have similar missions and helping each other get there. Not jealous. We're not catty. Just be careful in the spiritual community because there's some people who are quote unquote spiritual or in a holistic health that are a little bit on power trip or a little like they do it with not the best intentions in their heart.

Serena:

They do it because it makes them feel better than everybody else. And I think that's definitely a trial and error that I ran in in South Florida, I will say. There's some spiritual communities I walked in that I was like, this is not this is not it. This is not it. The people are catty.

Serena:

They're judging. The girls aren't judging or clicking. It's like, this is not what the spiritual community is supposed to be about. Like, you do not have to look a certain way to be spiritual. Spiritual people welcome in new newcomers or people who are just curious about it.

Serena:

I've encountered people down here that will completely disregard people who don't know anything about the spiritual realm, the spiritual community or the spiritual world. But you have to understand, I was once there too. You know? You were once there too. And I don't have to wear a crystal necklace every single day and parachute pants to be spiritual.

Serena:

This is how I like to dress. This is me and I'm a spiritual being and I also look like this. Do you think there's anything else for us to touch upon? Anything else you would wanna talk about

Sofia:

or mention? Lot. Definitely emphasizing doing a solo trip. Yes. That's the main part about, you know, being a spiritual being in the matrix is first to escape it.

Sofia:

Yeah. And the way to escape it is to find yourself. Definitely take priority in, like, discovering who you are as a person. That's how you first escape the matrix, and then it's just balancing being this conscious where spiritual being in the game of life.

Serena:

I refuse to succumb to a nine to

Sofia:

five. Mhmm.

Serena:

Succumb to letting mental illness take over. Another thing in in within the matrix is they kinda want us to be on this lower frequency. Mhmm. And also being aware of what the lower frequencies are and what the higher frequencies are. Yeah.

Serena:

And intentionally every single day, making sure that you are moving more onto the higher frequencies. We're human. We're gonna be sad. We're gonna be angry. We're gonna feel all these feelings.

Serena:

Like, that's human, but making sure that you're not living in that frequency. That's another thing that I learned. We're sending out frequencies, like, all the time. And what you are giving is what you're going to attract. You are negative.

Serena:

You're gonna attract negative people into your life. You hate yourself. You're gonna attract partners who don't love you. Right?

Sofia:

You know? So it's Law of attraction.

Serena:

Yes. Period.

Sofia:

Yeah. So where can people find you, connect with you? My Instagram, sophie sanctuary for my soulful journey, and then Sofia underscore Santucci for my human life. Beautiful. Thank you for having me.

Sofia:

I'm so happy that we were able to connect and Yeah. Sharing this experience with you and these stories, not a lot of people can relate Mhmm. Or even have time to understand.

Serena:

Yeah. I see your mission and I I feel like I see your highest self and I want you to introduce that more to people. So I will link all your socials down below. Obviously, for me, you can follow me on all socials, t from the galaxy or angel fish astro. That page.

Serena:

Yeah, guys. Thank you for watching. Bye.
