(Liz) I always have brass Venus because I have notes. Like from pitch perfect one. Okay, I have known I don't I'm not diagnosed with notes yourself. But um, you know, just like a fun little game for the listeners home just who says who says what? The exact same. I'm telling you guys though. My voice was a lot worse yesterday. So I'm sure she was gonna be able to do house.
(Jaden) I wasn't sure I was an audio recording of me being like, I don't know what. But she delivered, but I'm here anyway, because I love you guys so much and let anybody down. So it's not the fans.
(Both hosts) All right. So we have like we have a topic, but we wanted to talk about a couple things. First of all, we're out of topic, which is? Well, the first one I want to do is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Absolutely. Um, that just like blew up. It really isn't anything is like there was news before that, like they were they were rumored to be talking. Yeah, they have like something going on. But like the minute she shows up at the football game, it's like, blew up. And once you give her a friendship bracelet, ah, um, just like Did she get it? I don't know. He did her like arrow thing. Like the thing like during the archer where she like pulls he's such a swift here. He did such a swift like that's a DECA? I don't know about that. I know. I knew the archer. I wouldn't have recognized that.
(Liz) No, he didn't like when he like ran out. And then there's like the first video I saw was her talking to his mom. It was so sweet. That's adorable. I'm for it. Are you for it? Um, so far. And there's there's so many times they're like, This feels like the American Revolution. She's finally done with like, crappy British men. And now she's like Maddie Haley. Yeah, she's moved on to like, Bagel football player, absolute American hero. I saw a tweet about a lot too. So I saw a tweet about I really liked let me pull it up. So you can also look at it. Yeah, but it's like it's it's loading but I'll explain for swift because like, there were so many tweets about like, alright, for Swift. He's just watching the football game. Yeah, Taylor Swift. This is what you're doing. It was like you have four tries every 10 yards and it kind of feels like it's a I don't know if it was like a little crossover. It feels like a in an all of pitch. Yeah, like when to like people get married have different kingdoms and then the kingdoms emerge. So it's like sports fans and Swifties you know when two people get married into there I thought you were gonna say like, it's just so girlhood Tinos sure you know football information with each other so we can all you know look out for Taylor's was cute. That is cute. It is from you. It's you know the thing where two people from two different kingdoms yeah, see very when two people from different kingdoms get married. And then it's a treaty. It's just like that. I saw this thing and it was like it's so book talk. Because like, oh, like football star and like crazy like superstar meetup. Yeah. And they're in love Dream Team. They are a dream team. I actually do love them together.
(Jaden) Yeah, I do. I do hope that this turns into a couple I would like to see that personally. Yeah, he seems sweet. Yeah, the boys the a lot of the sports boys who hate Taylor Swift because of misogyny reasons are mad though. I saw a lot of it's really yeah, they're just like everyone's talking too much about this and all this stuff. Just let people be happy. Sorry the more people watch football games when Taylor Swift is there just let them be in love. That's what I think.
(Both hosts) It was so funny. Did you see the video of like, the other athletes on the team like waving to her? No, but that's cute. Yeah, when they saw that she was there they were like, Oh my gosh, Taylor Swift and then like we're waiting. So I just did a a smart for a second. Oh my god, it's Taylor Swift. You should do one whole episode ASMR if our voices are both out again, like The same time and they're like worse than this we should do that if our voices are out girl at the mine Shazam every day yes like this just like this at the same time though.
(Liz) Another thing I wanted to bring up before we get into the actual episode is the writers strike is finally over. They slave they feel like they got a really good thing and so now they're gonna decide to reboot the office I know that ran down to I said the office is rebooting because of this. Yeah, no they were like now that it's over we can no finally release in the office is gonna get a reboot. Yeah. Oh my god. Which brings me back to everything's a sequel. You know what put them back home with this drink. That's crazy. No, that's no we do not need an August reboot and not even 10 years ago.
(Jaden) I agree. I totally agree. And they also they give no information about like casting if it's going to be original cast or new cast or if it's going to be like a continuously he is or is going to be there's going to be bad. Did you like the office?
(Liz) I guess when I first watched it? Yeah, I liked it. I like even everyone smile. I'm like, okay, whatever. It's fine. A lot of people it's just so overplayed a lot of people viciously hate the office. I know. And I'm getting there on it because of this. Yeah, just because of like, the general fan base of today's Office fans. Yeah, are bonkers. bonkers, like right word. Just enjoy the show. I agree. There's like something about the office fans because they are just genuinely millennial. The office itself went on for too long. Yes. So yeah, the minute Steve Crowe left that should have been over which I don't I think he said before that he's not coming back for a reboot. So why reboot, so please? Yes, he does. I don't know. Maybe it'll be really good. That's the only way I would even try and watch it. Yeah, John Krasinski is not gonna come back. You might maybe he's way too busy, like having expired now. Like being married to Emily blonde. Yeah, but they're not doing anything else with um, are they doing something else with a quiet place? get so much money. I know. That's, I feel like it was rebooted.
(Both hosts) I know that um, I can't think of the actor's name but I know Pam would come back and Angela because they have exam that Pandey and I talk about is one of her. Sorry, I'm being way too they have that podcasts are just to find new friends who have a podcast What a lame gimmick. What a lame gimmick.
(Liz) Well, I don't like any of the ones where it's like the old characters are rewatching and giving behind the scenes content in like, I love Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Yeah. But like the three of the dudes sitting down together and watching it. There's nothing less like, yeah, less enticing.
(Jaden) That was a really big pandemic entertainment form. Now we can be done with that though. You don't have to. Yeah, we can be done. You can just stop. We can move on in our lives. We can move on, we can move on.
(Liz) And so this brings us to our actual thing that we want to talk about theme of the day, the theme of the day and I call it hater alert. Hater. And maybe this could be a continuous thing because me and Jaden find the need to rent quite a bit. Yes, we do. Especially dinner. We're feeling both a little bit, you know, vicious, which way I have. So I have to interject when I was looking at because I was trying to think of things that I hate so many things over it. You have so many things around like maybe
(Jaden) I was like, I wonder what would show up in my texts. If I just type out like, I hate all of them were with you. It was like all of them. Were were they and they were they were like miscellaneous was like just talking about things that we hate. And I was like this was gonna be so perfect for some group. Um, we've established on this podcast before we're haters. We're terrible people. terrible people. Yeah, I wouldn't say that. We're just real. Yeah, I agree. There's a lot of bad content in the world. Yeah, don't make the content and we will need. I agree. Also, you know, last week we talked about things that we liked that maybe we should hate. Right? So now we're saying Oh, my opinions are right.
(Liz) I will say I'm gonna have some at least one that's going to people off. Me too. What if it's the same one? I don't think it is. I don't think it is. No, because I think you've said before that you like this thing that I'm saying that I don't like okay, so Jaden, do you wanna go first one? Okay. First last time this is
(Jaden) i don't i Oh, go first since you told since you said I'm where we started with the first thing I hate when you said this topic, the first thing that came to mind was the movie tall girl.
(Liz) Yeah, that's real. That movie so awful. I remember from Dance Moms. She did. I met her once once. That's a sign of pesticide governance. Okay, anyways, continue.
(Jaden) I'll say I'll say it after I say my explanation. I really enjoy the hate watch things. Yeah. And so I thought the whole girl was going to be a fun hate watch, but it didn't even give me that it wasn't even bad in a fun way. It was just plain bad. It was boring. It was hurt. Did you watch her? Did you watch tall girl jazz? Can you dinner her outfit and the prom scene? When it's like that blue frilly suit? Yeah, it's so terrible. With that terrible Schumer links that are so dirty. That was so wrong. And but the My favorite part of that movie was it was like the love interest was like the short dude. And the whole movie he carried around this like, he carried around this like little Cree the whole movie. And everyone's like, Oh, I wonder why he does it just for him to reveal. When they're finally getting together. He brought her on just in case you wanted to kiss him. So he could stand on it and concern that was so crazy to me. Like I think that's my Roman Empire. And not in a positive way. Like that's not even cute. It's not even cute. It's just a Lariat you and you've been carrying this around every single day since because I think in the movie they were I haven't watched this movie in years. I think in the movie. They were like childhood best friends or something.
(Liz) Do you think the crate got bigger like every year is? Do you think there was a time where he made me mean the crate because like maybe she didn't hear glee? Grossberg?
(Jaden) I think according to the movie, she has always been a total girl. Oh, okay. She's always told that I met her. Um, yeah, during the Dance Moms era because she did a meet and greet at the local mall. Where I live. And I Yeah, and then I showed up with my mom. She's very nice. She was I've from what I can remember. No hate to her for getting mixed up in this awful franchise.
(Liz) Yeah. And also like, why would you say though that you want to do the movie? Tall Girl. Yeah, we already know from the title tall girl.
(Jaden) Yeah. And then there's the obvious criticism that has been said before about how it's just a movie about it's very privileged girl Mabone I feel so bad for her because she's tall and skinny and blonde and like gorgeous. And it's just like, yeah,
(Liz) and then her sisters is Sabrina Carpenter was also just as gorgeous. Yeah. And like somehow she's supposed to be super jealous of her. Yeah, it's like you're both rich. Yeah. And hot and cool. But they're just so tall. She's also she's not even like gargantuan. She's not eight foot. She's like six one. Not nervous. That's yeah. Not even. Not that. That's like, particularly short. Like on five, six, like, whatever. Yeah, I call myself an average. Average girl. Not a tall girl. That's a that's a movie average. Girl. There we go. And yeah, six ones. Not at all. So yeah, this is my not so tall girl. So that was the number. Yeah. So what's something that you hate? Should I go with the movies? And since we started Sure, this is so random, but I was just thinking about it today. Yeah, the Godzilla franchises are really stupid. Like lame. It's just like, I understand that it like, came from like comic books. And like, the original Japanese versions are sick, right? Yeah. Like the American eyes that like Jason Bourne. Like, weird double of seven Godzilla. We got to put them in a tank of acids sort of thing. Like, I don't know, scientists like Jurassic Park looking. Sorry. That was the longest No, no, no, but it's like on it. Speak on it. Um, though, that kind of Godzilla like the reason Godzilla is just really made me angry. I think I sat down and watched one. And it was it was like one of the last 3d movies that I ever saw, which already makes me mad. 3d movies are so hard to sit through. I always get nauseous. Why would you make the when's the last time you've seen a 3d movie that movie in like 2014 Maybe 2014? Maybe? No, like, I don't know if I've ever seen the Godzilla franchise and I'm not going there's just something about it that just really makes me angry. Yeah, it's really absolutely grinds my gears because it's like, first of all, he's not even that cool. Like, it's not like a cool villain. He's just a beast beast. But um, yeah, that's it. Well, yeah, no, that's not as valid as like, I don't have like the Reason No, I told her Oh, no, he just, you don't have to have reasons. Like the movies that are like, like scientific like science for stupid people. Just really makes me science for stupid people. Jama is crazy. It's it's a real thing. And Godzilla fits into it. Wow. Next, Jaden.
(Jaden) Okay. So for the rest of my movie list, I looked on my letterbox ago, and I looked at my one star views. And this is actually this movie that images here. And I was actually it's worse than tall girl. It's the it's an awful, awful movie. It's called girl in the basement. It's a Lifetime movie. And it's based on a really awful and terrible true crime situation. And the way that they went about it was so awful and distasteful. And if it was really a Lifetime movie for you, exactly. And they also would like they change certain facts of it to like, kind of give it like a happy ending that just like wasn't Oh, and there they added this like love interest. And it was so distasteful I didn't love interest to movie never know in the it was the it was the whole thing of the movie when it was like the only thing like getting her through, like the years and the base marriage, always. And then she would tell her like kids and everything about like this guy who was her prince charming, and that's so messed up and it was so messed up and it made me feel so disgusting after I watched it. Here's my letterbox review. Yeah, they use the among us noise like five times during this movie. Do you know the noise? I'm talking? Oh, not like the beeps at the end. But they kept using it was so crazy. Yeah, but that's actually like tall girl might be my most hated movie but girl in the basement. So like, actually, like tall girl I hate in a fun way. Girl in the basement. I hate in a real real way. In like a way where this shouldn't have never been made. And I will. Like, if someone's like, oh my god, I love that movie. Then I like I'm like, You're weird. You're weird. You're like a free movie. Here's my feeling you might be the only one who's watching in the basement. No, I watched it with one of my friends. So there's only two people who's ever seen. No, that's fair. That's honestly fair. I honestly, I can enjoy a Lifetime movie. It's a guilty pleasure. Just for go back to last year. But that one in specific was just so disgusting. So yeah, that's that's my that's my amazing. My other movie is this movie called fantasy island with the girl that I know this movie
(Liz) With the girl that played aria in thrillers, Lucy Hale. And basically the premise is, you get to live out all your fantasies. And like all this stuff, what can you get to like maybe it's like getting back at an enemy or like finding somebody like that died and like you want to see again. But you also have to like pay the price. You have to pay and you have to like it is just the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. That is like the letterbox I was like a half star. Yeah, like just the worst movie I've ever seen. And like, I brought my mom because it was when I was working at the movie theater. And we're like, we don't have any plans this weekend. Let's go watch it. Yeah, my mom was like, Okay, what about this one? I was like, fine. That was alright. It was awful. And like I hate a movie too. Because she like pretty much likes anything. Yeah, she like she's easily you know, she just likes I am the I don't know how I became the way I am then. Because I hate most things fair. And she even was like this sucks. It was not scary. It was like portrayed as like a scary movie was not scary. Okay, there was like weird military propaganda in it. A lot of movies. Yeah, for real and you know what the only one that can do it is Top Gun because it's so good. Top Gun because it literally makes me like want to become an Air Force pilot. I've seen top guns so many times. No, and it's just like, Okay, I went to an air show in Muskegon on like assignment. Yeah, I'm live and I went on a air show and I was like, listening to like, Barracuda on the way. And I was like, oh my god, imagine Didn't like flying a plane to this and I was like, that's what is going on in my brain chemistry right now. Passion flying a plane to fly. I don't think they let you listen to music. Maybe in there but um, no, sorry Fantasy Island sucks. Yeah, Fantasy Island sucks Top Gun, anything boom pretty much anything like Blumhouse Blumhouse can do some great stuff. Like, honestly like I kind of love the printer TV movies, but like, they have pretty crap horror movies like anything that basically comes out like, during the month of October, and is like mediocre for the sake of being mediocre like, is Blumhouse so but this is like one of the worst. Jason Blum? Yes. I am actually I felt that I knew what movie you're talking about battle like I do. So you're telling me Luciana wasn't? Oh, you're thinking about Twitter there? Maybe. Maybe she was also in that movie with the weird smile. Yeah. Yeah, that was weird. That was really weird. But, um, musicians or TV shows Nice.
(Jaden) Okay. Like, do you want me to say musician? Yeah. Okay. I'll do what I'll do a specific song. The new Drake song. Oh, God, I thought I thought I was about to say like, I don't know that one. But I know that one. And it's not good. It's awful. And it's really hard for me not to like a song that says isn't so that's crazy. I don't have any songs. I could probably pick one from each of these people. Yeah, no, let's hear it.
(Liz) Um, first of all, Meghan Trainor awful is just awful. I and I said, I if I had to pick a song in me, I am your mother. Just because it's, it's like it's stuck in your head in a really terrible way. It feels like Old Navy. And like she created this whole brand on like, not being skinny. And it's like, she's not even that big. So like, it created like this whole thing where it's like, oh, well, she calls herself fat. So all the girls that look like that, like it was it was just pretty much like mid size girls are now being called fat. She's bringing booty back. She's bringing she's bringing in Bernie Mac and also body shaming. Yeah, so same thing with Amy Schumer. That's why I hear Oh, yeah. Oh, my added to my list because I didn't bring her down. Did you watch I feel pretty. Yeah. And I liked it. It was okay. That movie I didn't tell me honest with you. I didn't like that. Yeah, I really like train wreck was her and Bill Hader. Okay, but that's, like, we know. I've never seen I love Bill Hader. So that could be part of it. I thought she was actually pretty funny in that. I just think that in like, again, like in her immediate this is like a specific genre of just genre. No, you're so right. Just like women that are like, not, like, not large, not any like, and they say like, oh, well, I'm fat. And then it like creates this whole thing where it makes men able to tell women that they're and it's like, I don't I just don't mess with that sort of stuff. Yeah, no, that's gross. That wasn't good. That was a good, you know, topic. That was good. Thank you. That was a good eight. Thank you. Well, just because it's so gross. But I'm Billy Eilish. Yeah, is my and that's my heartache. Because I know that I think that's the only one that people will be like, No, so fair. I liked her when I'm not I don't know her know, like her name music. No meanies or I'm not a fan. Like the ocean eyes era. Yeah, that was good. Like I was like in middle school and I was feeling when we all fall asleep. Where do we go album? I really enjoyed that. But at the time, not now. I just feel like she tries so hard to be edgy. And I just can't relate to that. And I don't find that likable. What do you mean, you're not edgy? I'm not edgy. I know. That's funny, Billy Eilish. I just don't like her music. Okay, I think so. Very fair and valid in my opinion. I just feel like she tries too hard. And it's weird and I don't know. Yeah, she's just on the rosary runway. My other musician is Blake Shelton. Okay. Yes. Like the and like, honestly, I could be confusing him for like two other people. Because they're all the same. He is the epitome of like a country boy who's never done like a hard like, like a day's hard work in his life. Yeah, like he like he loves blue collar like, blue collar dude, like he just owns a ranch for the sake of owning a ranch and I know though you have certain minute rant Yeah, the sake of voting around but like, it feels like you're a poser because I know you didn't own that ranch. And do you know the field work before? Absolutely. And you're like singing for these like, middle class dudes and the like, you cannot relate to that at all. Okay? Yeah, I'm Sam. Um, I've tried to be more open to it because I realized that there's like folk creations that like Wow, big voice crack right there. Okay, variations that I enjoy. (Liz) I love Kacey Musgraves old country. She I mean, she's always been a little country pop but all Taylor Swift mold him again. Andrew. Her fake little accent? She's the only one that could have ever pulled that off. Absolutely. We say are hot takes next. Oh, I that was my take Billy. I was just my that was your Oh, that was your heartache. Yeah. Okay, because I thought I'd just for you go ahead and do your hot takes.
(Jaden) it's the movie. He's just not that into you. I don't I hate that movie. What's that one? He's Just Not That Into. Yeah. Which one is that? You don't know.
(Liz) I know what I probably I've heard of. But which one is I like who's winner?
(Jaden) I can't give a catalyst right now. But it's can you look it up? While I wasn't explaining it after I talked about this movie. Um, it's a Jennifer Aniston's in it. It's just I just got really bad secondhand embarrassment throughout the whole movie. It's pretty much it's based on the premise that, which I agree with the premise. It's like, if a guy is if like, you can't tell that a guy likes you that he's just not there in to like, there's not like secret reasons why he doesn't call or anything. But it follows like a bunch of different plot lines where they kind of learn this lesson. And one of the characters in particular Actually, she's supposed to be I like love. Actually, that's great. I'm one of the characters supposed to be like, she really believes in love. And she just keeps on trying. But everything she does is just embarrassing. And I can't handle media where the comedy is second hand embarrassment. Oh my gosh, it's so frustrating. And there's also this whole like affair happening in it. And honestly, I watched it expecting for a good rom com because this movie has just been so praised. And I really did not enjoy it. I just felt really sick and embarrassed. And that was my letterbox writing. I am so surprised. I thought we've talked about this movie. No. Wow. Every once in a while, like, I don't know where I was going with that. Every once in a while Liz doesn't know what she's talking about. Liz talks about movies that she doesn't. That is actually true. I do do that. But I swear to God, I haven't done that with this movie. Um, but I every once awhile I know where I was going now. I have to like, put my like, head in a pillow. And like not watch a movie because it's so cringe. Oh, yeah. Like if the I can like a movie or like a show. But like if something is happening, that's cringy I seriously can't Oh, I so agree. Um, one of my favorite shows is New Girl. But I remember there was I got to a point where I had to take a break specifically because of the episode where it just sees Dr. Sam again and then ends up like and he has a restraining order out against it. her and then she like, ends up in the back of his truck hiding and it's i She it's I paused it and I turned it off and I didn't watch it again for like a while. Because I was like I can't handle this. I can't handle this. This isn't too much for me. It's not funny. It's not funny. It's just because I've it's a whole thing. I can't be secondhand embarrassed through like media. No, it's not entertaining. But um, do you have any other heartaches? I don't know if any of them are really because the other stuff I've written down the kissing booth. That's not a hot topic at all. Everyone. Love that scene of Joey King running. Yeah, that's a good one. I do. And I feel like the fact that that's on my list, though, does say a lot because as I said before, I really like rom coms that are bad and are bad in nature. I can enjoy it. Kissing Musa was just on another level
(Liz) that's playing another same, like same vein as the kissing booth. It was like, he's all that with Addison Ryan. I didn't watch that. I think I tried In the Kardashians acting Kourtney Kardashian was in it yeah, really a very, very small part to tell Addison Ray, you're too embarrassing on the internet now. I have to drop you from your brand deal. Can she act? No, it doesn't talk to you about a Kardashian. They're gonna act before we go. Kim Kardashian I watched the first episode of American Horror Story delicate. How was it and it was really good. And Kim Kardashian Slade. Did she really she did. She can act, she can act. He can do it all. I mean, she was just like, basically playing herself. Like she was just like, gossiping to Emma Roberts. Okay, that's funny, but like, it was silly. And I really liked honestly, this season seems really silly. So I'm pretty excited. I just thought it was a cool premise. Like, I don't know, like weird, baby Colt. That's sick. Yeah, everything is the sequel. You know, we're a remake. And hopefully that will change because of the writers trick I'm doing. Yeah, seriously, I don't think it will. We were only using amongst Do you think we're gonna get euphoria? Um, if they take it the way the nine guy wanted to? I hope not several of us. I can't. I'm gonna I'm gonna give them the respect of isn't it unfair? Dude, that dude. Yeah, he's like, it's underused in the lake. Um, question existential reality. Oh, yeah. And they're like, and it's gonna be 10 years in the future. Where did the original clock go? I know. I don't care about 10 years in the future. I know. I agree. You know what I do want to come out after the strike. But talking with Tom as in Dan. challengers. Okay. Did you see the trailer for that? No. It's like a love triangle. Okay. And they all play tennis. Me in high school? Oh, yeah. No, but it's like Sunday up is like this tennis star. Okay. And then she meets these two other dudes that are like friends. Yeah. And they like form a love triangle. That's awesome. I am. And like, the trailer just looks so intense. But it was pushed back because of the strike. Okay, so we'll come out, but it needs come out. I'm excited for Stranger Things again. Yeah. filming that. I'm assuming. Yeah. Which I think it's gonna be their last season. I think it is. Yeah. And I'm ready for feel like it's come to to act as little been off again. Oh, absolutely. I can't think of a better actor. Like I mean, I know he's on trial anymore. Yeah. Season two, I can think of a better child actor. Yeah, absolutely. Like, wow, I'm excited for jocuri Oh, I'm excited for my honk. So and that's all I say about that. And that's not what either alert hater alert is about? I'm gonna say Emily in Paris. Okay. Watch way. embarrassment. Yeah, it was she's gonna like be mean to the waiter forgiving her French food. While she's That was crazy. While she's in Paris, which has to be the most touristy place. You can find Americanized food girl. I know. It's a show. I know. It's a real way. Liz. Did you know that? It was actually not a reality show. Really? No, this is true. That's crazy. That wasn't just lily collins being stupid.
(Jaden) I'm pretty sure it was great. Well, fair. I think that my Okay. The last season of you. Oh, it was so bad. So bad. I love I could barely finish. I loved that show so much.
