Good morning and

welcome to Morning Serial.

All right, good morning

and welcome to Monday.

Well, we've been shooting remotely the

last couple of weeks, as

you know, but we're headed

back today and we'll be back to regular

programming this Wednesday.

So we're excited to share that with you.

But let's jump into this Monday because

it's Bastille Day and

it's perfect timing to dig

out your beret and

celebrate France's national day.

And I don't want to say that it's more

important, but more

importantly, it's also mac and cheese

day and I'm just planting that seed.

It might be a good lunch today.

I'm just saying.

Well, our quote this morning is from the

late Lisa Leftye Lopez, who

said, "Energy is everything.

You attract what you are.

So be positive, be loving, be true."

And it's a powerful reminder that the

vibes you give off

shape the life you live.

All right.

Well, today's news, facts and

birthdays are for July 14th.

And we're going to start back in 1789.

That's when the storming of the Bastille,

well, it sparked the French Revolution.

Then in 1881, Billy the Kid, he was shot

to death on this date.

Then in 1968, Hank Aaron, he hit his

500th home run against

the San Francisco Giants.

Well, happy birthday to you

if today is your birthday.

You share a birthday with

Conor McGregor, the MME fighter.

He's 37 today.

And the lead singer from Imagine Dragons,

Dan Reynolds, he's 38 today.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, she's 40 today.

You might know her from

Star Wars, among other things.

And the witty and funny actress Jane

Lynch sees 65 today.

Well, the number one song in this date

back in 1995 was Waterfalls by TLC.

Now, this was a memorable song for all of

us in the mid-90s, right?

It was nominated for two Grammy Awards,

but it was primarily

trying to provide the important

public safety message to

stop chasing waterfalls.

Well, it was a major problem in the 90s.

Fun fact here, CeeLo Green, he sang

backup vocals on the song.

Well, as you know, the book review is a

little bit different.

We're just making a few suggestions while

we're out on locations.

So we're going to suggest giving

Essentialism by Greg McCown or Reed.

It's about focusing on less to achieve

more and clearing the

clutter with purposeful

living.

All right.

Well, whether you're storming the

metaphorical best deals or

you're just finishing that bowl

of mac and cheese, I

know you're going to do it.

Remember, laughter

leads and ambition inspires.

your week with Morning Serial.
