Good morning and welcome. In today's Chumash portion, we witness the remarkable journey of Moshe as he prepares to confront Pharaoh. After a week of dialogue with God, Moshe finally returns to his father-in-law, Yeser, seeking permission to return to Egypt. This request highlights the importance of respect and commitment to one's promises. God reassures Moshe that the threats against him have diminished, yet he must remember that he is not alone; he carries God's authority.
As Moshe heads back, he takes his family and the staff, a symbol of divine power. God warns him that Pharaoh’s heart will be hardened, but he empowers Moshe with miracles to perform, showcasing that he is God's messenger.
The narrative takes an unexpected turn when Moshe faces a life-threatening moment due to his failure to circumcise his son, underscoring the significance of fulfilling commandments. Ultimately, with Tzipporah’s intervention, Moshe is saved, and he reunites with Aaron, successfully igniting the faith of the Israelites.
