Yeah, and and it's Steve. It's not just speculation. Two separate agencies have called Beshear, suggesting McConnell has indeed passed away. The government of the man's home state is getting death rumors through official channels. Senator's office says everything's fine. That's not a communication strategy that seems to be working. I I I have made my view on this clear for a period of some 40 days, which is no. I I don't think that Mitch McConnell had a 20-minute conversation with CNN's Scott Jennings about Senate history, after statistically knowing that if you're in your 80s and you have CPR performed and you have it performed before you get in the ambulance, and there seemed to be no rush to leave the scene, that you have a 6% chance of ever walking out of the hospital. So full full stop right about what's going on and let's set the stage for the political drama. Andy Beshear is the Democratic governor of the state of Kentucky, two term governor, popular governor. He'll be on the warning next week. I'm an admirer of Andy Beshear to be a very very serious presidential candidate, and one of the things, if you're running for president, a conception that I have of what it is, it's a long journey, and it's a character test, and it's the type of journey that doesn't begin like a race. Starts on the time frame of the journey. It begins when it begins. For Andy Beshear, it's underway. And the only thing I can think about is that scene in Private Ryan, where Tom Hanks and Tom Sizemore, the captain and the platoon sergeant are together, and the Matt Damon character won't leave. And he says, "We've entered the realm of the surreal here. What should I do? And times Tom Sizemore defers, and and he says, "Are you sure you want to know? And he says, "Well, that's why I asked you. I'm not. I'm not sure sitting around advising Andy Beshear in this circumstance, what it is that I would advise him to do because you have to start with the surreality of the premise, which is at best America's hiding a dead senator. Right, this was the long-serving majority leader. Okay, is Mitch McConnell alive? And really, the answer to the question is, who's to know? And maybe more precisely, how can we know? How can we know? And so the governor of the state, I think, is saying some things that frame the necessity of knowing. But very soon, I think he has to go a level deeper and deeper and deeper, and prepare his state and really the country as a warm-up lap for how we talk about the Constitution. Because if the guy is dead, what it means is his staff has performed a sort of legislative coup, and his press shy chief of staff, with a government salary of $226,000 a year, named Terry Carmack, is the head of a conspiracy to defraud the American government and the taxpayer by maintaining that the people are represented in the United States Senate by somebody who, in fact, is dead, and that is a very serious matter. I would posit it's a very serious crime. And you have the guy's wife again in China, couldn't couldn't make this up on a Love Island episode. Why are you here? When I had a heart attack and they resuscitated me, my beloved was meeting with the number three guy in China, he was being promoted to field marshal and couldn't be here. But at any rate, yeah, no, right? Where the fuck is the guy? Right, question on the on the table. Right, is the question right that somebody needs to ask in in plain English. Yeah, right. I mean, like, what's going on in there, right in that hospital? What's going on? Well, no one knows. No one knows, and that's the problem. Is that it? You know, it doesn't matter who you are. You could be a

The incompetence is incredible. I mean, and it goes from one department into the other. If it's not, you know, the Senate, we've got some incompetence in the Department of Defense. Pete Hagsha had a terrible week. The war machine on the Fritz. That's a nice way of saying the incompetence is burying the once great reputation of the United States military. The United States is having it handed to them. Pete Hegset this week stood in front of the Senate Oversight Committee and he begged for a bunch of money. Then he started telling everybody they had TDS, which you know is if you're asking for money for something. Generally speaking, you want to accuse everybody that you're asking the money from that they're mentally ill and just hate Donald Trump and they're all a bunch of commies. I want to get to a couple of these clips this week, and then I want your thoughts because here's what we know: five months into the Iran War, they've declared victory on day 14. War's still going on. We've got war dead that have come home, a completely undignified transfer of our war debt, a complete cover-up of the injuries and casualties the United States has taken at the hands of this war of choice. But I want to get to John Ossoff. John Ossoff, as as you have pointed out many times, does it right. He is absolutely surgical, and his conversation in the line of questioning with Pete Hegseth, John Ossoff was a man, and Pete Hegseth was the exact opposite. And he lost his cool several times, which we'll get to. But let's play John Ossoff approaching. Yeah, yeah. Please go ahead.

Can I just set up one thing before we before we play it, which is which is that there's a moment you're going to see where John Ossoff talks to him like you would talk to a dog, right? Where he reprimands him like a dog, and and Pete Hexath responds like a dog, and it's a it's a powerful moment. It's a powerful moment in the life of John Ossoff, and in his in his political career, this is a top tier presidential candidate who's going to smoke the MAGA nut he's running against in the November election, and watching this guy and his team discard the Democratic Party's failed playbook from a Southern state, rise and meet the moment in the most American of ways, almost providentially out of left field from nowhere. I don't even think he's 40, and you watch this, and you see in this young guy character in an old soul, and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that his mentor is John Lewis, and one of the things that I appreciate here as a small C conservative, right in my inclinations, in my nature, how I respect institutions and think about their preservation, is the one thing that drives me consistently crazy is the disrespect, and the disregard, and the arrogance of Donald Trump's imbeciles from Pam Bondi to Kristi Noem to Jay Clayton. Their smugness, Their dishonesty and the incompetence which routinely greets them, as their lies roll over the truth again and again and again, but not with this guy, and not this time, and not on any day when John Osoff is in the room, and so we have one of the premier imbeciles in the history of the United States, Pete Hagsat, a whack jobs, whack job, a man who has desecrated his duty, who should never have been confirmed, who is so dishonest he can't even address his office properly? It's the Secretary of Defense, not War. A buffoon who has architected a lost war to one of the most dangerous countries in the world that will bring more. Conflict, more instability across the world for a generation. He's a racist. He's a credibly accused rapist. He is poisoned the military with his religious extremism. His pastor, who believed slavery was good for blacks. That women should lose the right to vote. This man, who's taken a hatchet to the careers of black officers with impeccable service records and women officers, is a stain on the honor of the military, a repudiation of its values. He's the most unfit person at any level in the history of the country to be associated with any of these institutions in a position of command, and he deserves to be confronted, defenestrated, and humiliated, and the person who did it is John Ossoff.

How much is going to cost? Obfuscation is the name of the game, but you know, it's if it's they're not doctoring the deaths. You know, they are they're literally somehow, and I don't know how, working with mainstream media in the United States of America, who are not actively chasing this down, who are not talking about this sacrifice, and there's a White House Correspondents' Dinner. We we we we had a great conversation about the Obama legacy, And one feature of the Obama legacy is that over the course of Barack Obama's presidency, the party traded working class voters for college educated voters as a deliberate part of their political strategy, and and it's turned out to be a disaster, and and the net result of all of it is it turned the Democratic Party from a national party into a regional party, and one of the markers of a regional party is the invisibility. of great candidates Jamie Davis in Louisiana, Scott Column in Mississippi, two Black Americans, Scott Column a prosecutor, Jamie Davis a real time farmer in Louisiana, who have passed a victory? If the Democratic Party isn't prepared to make a moral stand in the state that gave us Mega Evers, Mega Evers, unlike most graves in Arlington, the name of the state isn't abbreviated. He he wanted Mississippi spelled out, the full name of the state. How how can the Democratic Party abandon its candidates in Mississippi, abandon its candidates in in Louisiana, abandon the places that have proportionally some of the highest black populations in the country, with blacks being the vibrant heart and soul of the of the party, and so I you know I think when you look around at some of the debates that are going on against the seriousness of the moment and the total fatuousness and dishonesty of it all, it's depressing. So far, we have not seen a strategy that's been successful. You mentioned nuclear material is the primary goal of the war. It still exists. We haven't dealt with that issue yet. You talk about the destruction of missiles, and yet the missiles that we saw hit recent targets are actually somehow more lethal, more deadly, more maneuverable than what we have seen in the past. So they're obviously improving their munitions. The Strait of Hormuz is still closed. Reminding everybody, it was open before the war. Prices were lower for everybody until the war, and it still remains closed. And of course, tragically, people, service members, our war fighters, who we care deeply about, are still dying. So, what's different, mr. Exa, Secretary Exa.

I think your characterization of this incredible effort as a failure is reckless, and I think it's irresponsible, and I think it smears the sacrifice of the troops that are out there making on behalf of the American people to ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. Shame on you and others who call this a quagmire and a failure, and then you want to turn around and say you support the war fighter. Either you do or you don't. Is the nuclear material still there? I can get you a ticket out to CENTCOM and talk to what those Americans are doing, how committed they are to this effort, and how they want to ensure that Iran never threatens their families with a nuclear weapon.
