One Gospel Minute

How long should we commit ourselves to the Lord? Until the day of Christ. The beloved Apostle Paul wrote, "Being confident of this very thing, that He, God, which has begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Christ" (Philippians 1:6). Paul encouraged the Church to labor with faith in God. Why? Because God's work endures across generations, and there’s no giving up in God. He desires to work in your life if you'll let Him.

David Hill: [00:00:00] Until the day of the Lord. The beloved Apostle Paul wrote, "Being confident of this very thing, that He, God, which has begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Christ" (Philippians 1:6). Paul was writing to a congregation of the Lord's Church he had helped start, and reminds them to work with confidence in God.

Why? Because God's work continues from generation to generation, and there's no giving up in God. Too often, we're quick to give up and give in to pressures of the present age, not God. He desires to work in your life if you'll let Him. Some see a retirement plan in the kingdom, but not the devout Christian.

Do you work until your feelings are hurt and quit? Some do. Jesus didn't. He has promised, "I will never leave you or forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). How long should we work for the Lord, allowing him to work in us? Until the day of Christ. Give Him your life. Thank you for listening to one gospel minute.
