Sidekick's What Just Shipped

HubSpot rebuilt its landing page editor, and before anyone moves campaign pages over, HubSpot's help article lists who gets it, what a Super Admin has to switch on, and which pages can't use it yet.

Show Notes

HubSpot rebuilt its landing page editor, and before anyone moves campaign pages over, HubSpot's help article lists who gets it, what a Super Admin has to switch on, and which pages can't use it yet. First thing to try: check your tier against HubSpot's list, then have a Super Admin opt in to the beta and turn on the AI Settings switches.

Who it's for: agencies, consultants, and HubSpot admins on Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, or Content Hub Starter, Professional, or Enterprise, who are deciding when to use the new editor.

Our research first covered this on October 1, 2026. Here's where it stands as of our Oct 31, 2026 check. HubSpot's help article (updated Oct 1, 2026) still requires opting in to the AI-powered landing page editor beta or the AI-powered website editor beta. Our write-up said Marketing Hub Starter has access. HubSpot lists Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, and Content Hub Starter through Enterprise. Our write-up also said desktop and mobile layouts can be edited at the same time. HubSpot says the mobile preview only allows resizing. Only new pages work in the new editor, and custom templates aren't supported. We couldn't confirm that forms and workflows carry over unchanged. This episode follows our earlier episode on building pages in the new editor.

What is Sidekick's What Just Shipped?

Sidekick's What Just Shipped is the fast, friendly way to keep up with HubSpot without reading every release note yourself. Each episode, AI hosts Rob and Dana take one feature HubSpot shipped and tell you where it stands right now: what changed, how it got here, who it's for, and what to do on Monday. Rob explains. Dana pushes back. Nobody pretends.

Every episode starts from Sidekick Strategies research on the HubSpot Updates page at sidekickstrategies.com and is checked against official HubSpot sources. If something isn't confirmed, the hosts say so out loud. Episodes run six to eight minutes, and new ones arrive five a week while we catch up on recent releases.

Dana (AI host): Your team hears HubSpot rebuilt the landing page editor, and someone wants every page moved by Friday.
Rob (AI host): Before that, HubSpot's help article lists who gets it, what to switch on, and which pages can't use it yet.
Dana (AI host): Stay for the tier detail our research got wrong, because it changes who can say yes.
Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies.
Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI.
Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you.
Dana (AI host): Hey, Dana and Rob here, your AI hosts.
Dana (AI host): We covered building pages in this editor in an earlier episode.
Dana (AI host): Today is the readiness check, from HubSpot's new editor help article, updated at the start of October.
Rob (AI host): Got it.
Rob (AI host): Hats on: today I'm playing a hypothetical agency consultant who builds landing pages for a dozen clients and gets asked about every new feature.
Dana (AI host): Great.
Dana (AI host): Why it matters: a new editor only helps if the account is set up for it, and the setup lives with a Super Admin.
Rob (AI host): First, what does HubSpot say the editor is for?
Dana (AI host): It reduces the need to switch between tools or update theme files, and your theme settings apply automatically.
Rob (AI host): Start with tiers. Who gets it?
Dana (AI host): HubSpot's article lists Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, and Content Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise.
Rob (AI host): So Marketing Hub Starter isn't on that list.
Dana (AI host): Correct. Content Hub Starter is, Marketing Hub Starter is not.
Rob (AI host): That's the first thing I'd check for each client.
Rob (AI host): And after the tier check?
Dana (AI host): The opt-in.
Dana (AI host): A Super Admin must opt the account into the AI-powered landing page editor beta, or the AI-powered website editor beta.
Dana (AI host): Those are named separately.
Rob (AI host): Still a beta, then.
Dana (AI host): Yes, both carry the beta label in HubSpot's requirements.
Rob (AI host): And the AI settings?
Dana (AI host): A Super Admin turns on these switches in AI Settings: Give users access to generative AI tools and features, CRM data, Customer conversion data, Files data, and Give users access to Breeze Assistant.
Rob (AI host): That's more than the usual pair.
Dana (AI host): It is.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot's separate article on building landing pages with Breeze Assistant only lists the two access switches, but the editor article lists all of them.
Rob (AI host): And for the people doing the work?
Dana (AI host): Edit and Publish permission to create and customize pages.
Dana (AI host): Editing global content and themes needs the Global content and theme settings permission.
Rob (AI host): So one person might have the first and not the second.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot lists them as two separate permissions, so check both before a build.
Rob (AI host): Credits?
Dana (AI host): HubSpot says credits aren't required to create and customize pages in the new editor.
Dana (AI host): Usage may require credits in the future.
Rob (AI host): So budget for it later.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot doesn't give a date or an amount, only that usage may require credits in the future.
Rob (AI host): And where's the data question answered?
Dana (AI host): HubSpot notes you can manage AI feature access in AI settings and configure what data is shared, and points to its AI Trust FAQs and AI Model Cards.
Rob (AI host): Now the limits. This is the part clients will ask about.
Dana (AI host): Three of them. Only new pages can be created and customized in the new editor.
Dana (AI host): Existing pages, including drafts, stay in the legacy content editor.
Rob (AI host): So no switching an old page over.
Dana (AI host): And that includes drafts. A draft you started last week counts as an existing page.
Dana (AI host): Second limit.
Dana (AI host): Custom templates aren't supported either, so pages on a custom template go through the legacy editor too.
Rob (AI host): And the last limit?
Dana (AI host): It's about mobile. HubSpot says you can preview how content appears across devices while you edit.
Rob (AI host): But?
Dana (AI host): In the mobile preview, you can only resize elements and sections.
Dana (AI host): To edit text, or add and remove content, you use the desktop view.
Rob (AI host): Hypothetically, a client with a fully custom template waits on this one.
Dana (AI host): That's how the requirements read. HubSpot's answer for custom templates is the legacy content editor.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): An editor is only as good as the theme and templates it's working with.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Sidekick's HubSpot CMS website design builds custom themes with drag-and-drop modules your team can edit without touching code, connected to your CRM, forms, and reporting.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Your team gets a site they can manage day to day.

Rob (AI host): Once a new page exists, what's worth knowing in the editor?
Dana (AI host): For elements: click a section, then Add element, and drag it into place.
Dana (AI host): Click an element and use the Edit icon to change it, or the Remove icon to delete it.
Rob (AI host): Sections too?
Dana (AI host): Click a section, then the Remove icon in the left toolbar.
Dana (AI host): Move up and Move down sit in the same toolbar.
Rob (AI host): And the page settings clients forget?
Dana (AI host): Click More, then Settings.
Dana (AI host): You can associate a marketing campaign, set the internal page name and the page title, pick the domain and content slug, add a meta description, and choose a page language.
Dana (AI host): Then Save settings.
Rob (AI host): Is the campaign association required?
Dana (AI host): No. HubSpot marks it optional.
Rob (AI host): Publishing?
Dana (AI host): The Publish dropdown, upper right. Publish now, then confirm and click Publish.
Dana (AI host): Or Schedule publish, enter the date and time, and click Confirm schedule.
Rob (AI host): Okay, skeptic questions. Our research says Marketing Hub Starter already has access.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot's article doesn't list it. Only Content Hub covers Starter.
Rob (AI host): Our write-up also says you can edit desktop and mobile layouts at the same time.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot shows both views, but on mobile you can only resize, so text edits stay on desktop.
Rob (AI host): And it says your forms and workflows all carry over unchanged.
Dana (AI host): We couldn't confirm that.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot's editor article doesn't cover forms or workflows, so test a page before you promise anything.
Rob (AI host): Fair, I'll test one real page first.
Dana (AI host): Alright, readiness plan, hypothetical consultant.
Rob (AI host): Step one: check each client's tier against HubSpot's list.
Dana (AI host): Step two: have a Super Admin opt in and turn on the AI Settings switches.
Rob (AI host): Step three: confirm Edit and Publish, and theme permissions, for whoever builds.
Dana (AI host): Step four: use it for new pages only, and keep custom-template pages in the legacy editor.
Rob (AI host): Consultant's verdict: ready for new pages on the right tiers, not a migration tool yet.
Dana (AI host): Check the list, then build something new.
Rob (AI host): Both HubSpot help articles and our research are linked in the show notes, and you'll find more at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
Dana (AI host): Thanks for checking the fine print with us.
Rob (AI host): Read the requirements before Friday.
