happy thanksgiving everybody everybody's
eyes are going to be on the nfl
today three amazing games is this when
you're supposed to release the workouts
for your big finals in copenhagen we're
going to talk about it next
What is going on, everybody?
It is lunchtime.
Lunch with Clydesdale here on a
Thanksgiving.
What is going on, everybody?
We've got Meredith, we've got Kenneth,
we've got Jay Burch in the house.
Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one
of you.
What is going on?
Meredith,
making my grandma's homemade cranberry
sauce right now.
Wish me luck.
Do people actually eat the cranberry
sauce?
Now, let's be real.
Me growing up,
my version of cranberry sauce is the kind
that had the rims in it from the
can that they plopped out onto a plate.
Does anybody eat?
Like, I never touch that stuff.
It doesn't mean I wouldn't.
Kenneth Delaps has put it on a biscuit
with butter.
Delightful.
I like it,
which is why I'm making it.
The best information person in the
business, Holly Dugan.
Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Thank you for the happy Thanksgiving back.
Shay Cranberry is the best.
I did have like a cranberry chutney one
time that my friends tried to make,
but it was chopped with like,
like jalapeno peppers and some other
stuff,
and the sauce is kind of around it,
and you kind of spread it on your
turkey.
That was pretty good.
Joseph rumors,
my dad won't eat anything but the kind
out of the can,
I'm assuming is what he's saying.
Holly has never had any type of cranberry
sauce.
Jay Burch,
New York style cheesecake with sour cream
topping is prepared and chilled.
Wow.
Yeah,
this is a different kind of Thanksgiving
for me.
You are my Thanksgiving dinner because
with everything that's going on with me
this week,
I had to opt out of travel.
And so I'm here with Walter.
Me and Walter are having Thanksgiving
dinner together today.
So I have some...
balsamic glazed chicken and some greek
orzo salad and that's my thanksgiving
dinner today which is kind of nice because
i don't like turkey i don't really like
the traditional turkey thanksgiving stuff
so i'm just gonna have a nice light
meal and uh enjoy some football games
today the football slate is out of this
world it is um we got the packers
and the lions to kick off the day
both on the very edge of the playoffs.
Then we've got Chiefs Cowboys,
which some are saying is going to be
the most viewed regular season game in the
history of the NFL.
The Taylor Swift factor with the Chiefs is
unreal.
And then the Cowboys draw the biggest
crowds anyway.
So that could be insane.
And then we finish off the night with
Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore
Ravens, which is crazy.
Holly, we've been talking.
Holly doesn't like their traditional
Thanksgiving stuff either.
So they're having lasagna and pumpkin pie.
I used to love pumpkin pie.
It used to be, like,
my favorite thing in the world.
Then I moved to northern Florida,
which is just below the Georgia border,
and everybody made sweet potato pie
instead.
And now, like,
I am so in love with sweet potato
pie.
Love sweet potato pie.
Way better than pumpkin pie.
Apparently,
Andrew Sten is already in the sauce.
Burrow is back.
Playoffs, baby.
Holly agrees.
Sweet potato pie is good, too.
Yeah, I like both,
but if I had my preference,
I would take sweet potato over pumpkin.
Joseph put in some work this morning.
A thousand burpees.
Dude, that's crazy.
So he's starving now.
I can imagine.
So back when I was at my fittest,
before all the stuff started happening,
I used to do a turkey trot every
Thanksgiving to give me an excuse to go
ahead and eat whatever I wanted.
And then usually, I was so exhausted,
I couldn't even really eat what I wanted
to eat.
My eyes were way bigger than my stomach.
So...
Shay has never heard of sweet potato pie.
Honestly, I'd never heard of it until I,
until I moved to what they call the
South.
Um, and, and then everybody, uh,
that's what they,
they are adamant that it's way better than
pumpkin.
And I have to agree with it.
Uh, uh, Shanna working today,
rice and chicken for me.
Yep.
I'm pretty much on the same level with
you, Shanna.
I'll toast my chicken to you.
Shay is Canadian.
That kind of explains it.
So you are the complete opposite of the
South.
Joseph said the thousand burpees sucked.
I can only imagine.
So last night I was here by myself.
HBO put out a documentary this week.
I don't know if people saw it,
but got to use a prop.
This is, you know,
I am the big Chicago Bears fan.
This is the actual,
an original copy of the Super Bowl shuffle
from nineteen eighty five when the Bears
did the Super Bowl shuffle.
And HBO put out a documentary on the
making of the Super Bowl shuffle and the
eighty five bears.
Watched it last night.
Very highly disappointed.
I think that I'm just such a big
Bears fan.
I got nothing really new out of the
whole thing until the very end of the
documentary.
And the one thing that I never knew
is that they were nominated for a Grammy
for Best R&B Song of the Year,
the Super Bowl Shuffle.
And the album went gold.
All the players that rapped on the album
got a gold record for the Super Bowl
Shuffle.
The other thing that blows my mind is
in video sales,
it is the second all-time biggest selling
music video in the history of music,
only behind Michael Jackson's Thriller.
That is insanity.
I'm a huge Bears fan.
I know every word to this song.
I can rap along with every player.
it is a terrible song.
There's no way it should have been up
for a Grammy.
No way.
It should be the second highest selling
video of all time.
But that was the fandom that surrounded
the eighty five bears.
It was insane.
And and so I watched the documentary and
I just think that like too many people
involved just are no longer with us to
give their input.
So it didn't get as deep into the
weeds as
is I wanted to go in a documentary
and usually HBO is so good,
so good at documentaries.
I love,
I love what they put together for
documentaries, but this one was not,
I mean,
I would give it a D and I'm
a bears fan.
So Jody Lynn,
I wonder where they are all now.
Well, I know where Peyton is.
Yeah.
We lost Walter Peyton a while ago.
Jim McMahon was in the documentary.
Mike Singletary was in the documentary.
Willie Galt and Gary Fensick.
Those were the four players that they
interviewed during the documentary.
But as for the others, I mean,
I don't,
I don't know.
And I know the team, like, I don't,
I think they're all still with us just
doing their own thing, but I,
I don't really know where that would have
been a cool conclusion to the documentary
that might've actually made it a little
bit better.
So, but yeah,
of all the stuff I watched, I,
that was not good.
I do not recommend it.
And that that's coming from a bears fan
who watches everything bears.
Um, so there you go.
I wanted to react to, uh,
the spin last night did their mountain.
John Young did his mountain, I should say.
And I, and I just have to have,
I have some reaction on two things that
I have to get off my chest.
So I'm going to share the mountain.
Um,
if you want to know more and and
the reasons that john has for why his
mountain is the way it is go watch
the spin from last night um he goes
into detail why he puts everybody where he
does but i'm going to do the easiest
one first right here on the on this
next to lowest tier he has alex kazan
And he says that he can't count Rogue
as a good thing because that's suited for
her.
And...
I wanted to say, like, listen,
before she had the car accident,
she put all of her chips in one
basket,
and that basket was the NorCal Classic.
She dominated that event.
There was nobody even close to her in
that event.
She has a car accident.
Our only question after the car accident
was,
would she be back to her old self?
She comes back from the car accident.
She goes to Rogue.
Super heavy.
Super brutal.
People talking about how brutal it was.
She finishes second.
Her and Laura are so far in front
of everybody else.
It's not even a contention for the top
two places.
It is insanity that he has her down
on the next to bottom tier.
All we needed to know is,
is she healthy to get back to where
she was last year?
And we saw that at Rogue.
Yeah, Rogue is heavy.
Rogue is set up for Alex, sure.
But we just need to know,
could she do the movements again?
Because if she can,
she's going to be a top athlete.
And to have her down this far, ridiculous.
Completely ridiculous.
So that is the first thing.
Now the more complicated thing.
To have Laura Horvat four rungs down,
five rungs down, whatever the hell it is,
She has podiumed at the games four times,
four times.
I would argue she is the second greatest
female athlete in the history of CrossFit.
His point is that this five, one,
five D is that she has a hole.
And until she can overcome that hole,
she doesn't get to go above that line.
Everybody but Tia has holes.
Every single person to pick out one
athlete and to pick on her hole only
is absolutely ridiculous.
Four podiums already.
He actually made the comment that she
doesn't get to go above the line until
she podiums where there are handstand
pushups.
All right.
And I know he means deficit strict,
whatever.
Whatever the hell that is.
Here are her four finishes on the podium
at the CrossFit Games.
She took second.
Fibonacci had handstand pushups.
She took second.
It had wall walks.
She took third.
There were the wall-facing deficit block
handstand pushups.
She took fourth.
She won,
and it had freestanding handstand push-ups
during that event.
So why the hate?
Why the hate for Laura?
You may not like her,
but you have to respect what the hell
she can do.
Good Lord,
to have her down below Emma Lawson and
Lucy Campbell, who she crushed at Rogue.
Crushed without, like, not even close.
Neither one of them have won the games.
She has.
They've each podiumed one time.
She's podiumed four times.
It's what the hell?
And to say that she has this hole.
Well, everybody has a weakness.
Every single person except Tia has a
weakness.
So to pick out hers as worse than
everybody else's is absolutely ludicrous.
I, man,
there's so much Laura hate in our space.
It is crazy.
You may not like her personality.
You may not like her beliefs.
But what she does on the floor makes
her the second greatest female athlete of
all time in this sport.
The only person that has even an argument
is Annie.
Tia won, and Laura Nanny fighting for two.
So to have her this low, ridiculous.
I have other things I don't like about
this mountain,
but those are the two things that just,
I lost my mind.
Lost my mind.
So I just had to get that off
my chest.
So thank you on this Thanksgiving day.
Thank you, John Young,
for giving me content and giving me angina
over what you were saying last night.
Kipping it real,
I would like you to make a counter
mountain.
I want to see yours visually.
Make a mountain, Scott.
I don't want to copy what they do.
I mean,
I'll give you a top ten list of
who I think,
but I'm not going to do another mountain.
Princess, fourteen, forty-two.
Fourteen, one, four, two.
I absolutely agree.
I was thinking the exact same thing last
night.
I just don't know why everybody picks on
that one thing.
There are tons of...
Every athlete but Matt Frazier and Tia
Toomey have weaknesses.
Even Rich Froning couldn't swim back in
the day or didn't run as well as
the other athletes.
Like, everybody has weaknesses and holes.
Every single person.
Um...
So anyway, that is that.
What else do we got?
Oh, here we go.
Thirdsy.
Yeah, our contributing sponsor,
thank you so much for everything you do.

The salted caramel chocolate is probably
going to go quick.
If you want to try that new flavor,
that seasonal flavor,
please log in tomorrow at thursday.com
backslash jazzy.
All right.
What else do we want to talk about?
Reality.
I talked about the reality show that WFP
should put on instead of trying to compete
with the CrossFit Games.
One of my favorite listeners is Pat
Midgley.
He's a Masters Games athlete.
Great dude.
Great friend.
And I throw stuff out like this.
Like, hey,
let's do a reality show with the WFP.
It's a way to get eyes on the
sport in a way that's different than the
CrossFit Games.
Because it is obvious that the WFP is
not going to be able to compete directly
with the CrossFit Games.
They need to be different.
They need to bring something new to the
table.
When I throw out these cockamamie ideas,
and they're half thought out.
Half thought out.
I don't,
I haven't sat down and brainstormed it all
out,
but Pat is awesome at finding all the
holes in what I say.
And then he sends me these voice memos
and, and it's great entertainment.
I absolutely adore him for sending them to
me.
The other night I had a long drive.
I listened to ten minutes of voice memos
telling me about all the holes in my
idea for the reality show.
But I think it's still a valid idea.
It needs to be parceled out as to
how it would work,
how you would put all the pieces together,
and all of that stuff.
And one of the big things was that
CrossFit is leaks everywhere.
To do an episodic TV show like this,
you would need a better NDA.
And I mentioned it briefly yesterday that
when you look at Hollywood and what they
put out like Survivor, Special Forces,
Hell, the fittest,
whatever the Netflix show is, the one,
the one hundred fittest or thousand
whatever.
None of that stuff leaks because the
companies have too much money behind it
and they are forcible with their NDA.
If you break the NDA,
they are coming after you.
And you would need that for this to
work for sure.
Not the CrossFit NDA that is kind of
out there and it's just a suggestion
because there is no ramifications if you
leak or not.
It would need to have the hard penalty
for people that actually leak the
information.
But to have episodic TV of people getting
cut episode by episode,
And at the end,
you have like the lone survivor and they
have shown that they are fit enough to
get through the gauntlet of whatever is
put out there in a CrossFit style,
I think would bring eyes to the table
because it would be a competition that you
could recap in an hour.
as a,
as an episode instead of three day long
weekend, Hey, come watch this competition.
You're going to love it.
It's hard to get people to buy in
initially doing that.
They may buy in on an episodic TV
and then say, Oh, let's,
let me see the fittest fittest.
Now I'll tune into the games and I
will, we'll do,
I will see how it all kind of
comes out.
So,
There's that.
Lupe, back on the Laura thing.
She can't do parallette strict deficit
handstand push-ups.
Why does that invalidate her more than
other people who have deficiencies in
their fitness as well?
And she has...
a third place finish at the games where
they did wall facing deficit handstand
pushups on those blocks.
She has four podium finishes at the games
and everybody wants to discredit her any
way they can.
It's ridiculous.
Taylor versus world but with an after show
stream of them all living together in
Airbnb.
Well,
Taylor versus the world was only four
people, this would need to be like people.
And again, just kind of.
Again, this is just a spitball idea,
throwing ideas out there.
It would definitely need to be refined to
become a TV show.
But there are people that specialize in
this kind of TV that could take this
idea and make it work for TV.
And again,
it's just about getting eyes on the
fitness competition style of things so
that you could grow the sport.
it needs to be on like a netflix
or a paramount or one of those things
that is outside of our space to bring
people in that wouldn't normally watch the
stuff what he really poked holes in is
when i said bring in other athletes to
compete and because
he was saying that CrossFitters specialize
in CrossFit.
Therefore,
they would automatically be better than
any athlete you brought in.
But depending on the tests,
I think other athletes could show how
amazing they are in a piece of it
or in their specialty.
And then you get to see how the
CrossFitters match up against someone in
their specialty.
Again,
all just ideas I'm throwing out there.
Who knows what it all means?
But I think copying what's already been
done and saying that we're going to
take over like what wfp tried to do
you can't copy the games and then say
you're new and innovative and and just do
the same old same old and expect different
results and i think that's what what's
happening there it has to be different it
has to be innovative um right now they're
just doing this the exact same thing as
the crossfit games with the season
structure
Lupe, sorry.
I didn't detect the sarcasm in the written
word.
Okay.
So yeah.
So anyway, there's that.
The other thing that kind of has been
making the rounds on Instagram,
and I don't know if you've seen this,
but and i don't really know much about
it so i'm just going to throw it
out there have you seen the reel with
this gentleman right here i'm going to go
ahead and play that and uh
Trying CrossFit for the first time today.
Right now we're in Tennessee visiting my
family for Thanksgiving.
I'm really excited for that but an
opportunity came up today for us to visit
one of the biggest CrossFit gyms in the
country and I'm going to be doing a
full class this afternoon.
I'm nervous but I'm excited.
Starting out the day with some clean
protein.
I got my legs wrapped.
We're going to visit my cousin for lunch
and then it's time to get after it.
I'm
So I saw this on Claire Bay's story.
I looked into it a little bit.
If you look at the comments,
like James Sprague has commented,
Craig Howard.
What's interesting is this guy is on a
weight loss journey,
and he is now in Tennessee for
Thanksgiving.
I'm assuming he's going to Mayhem because
he's saying he's going to one of the
biggest CrossFit gyms in the world,
and he's going to try CrossFit for the
first time.
This is freaking cool.
One,
it reminds me of when I first walked
into a CrossFit gym and how excited,
how terrified, how frightened,
how all those things I was.
On Claire's Instagram,
she says that there's going to be a
behind the scenes of what happened during
this visit to Mayhem.
And so I'm anxious to see what is
going to happen with this guy showing up
at mayhem.
How is he treated?
What kind of workout do they put him
through?
How do they explain it to him?
How does he scale?
This live action view of what it's like
to walk into a gym, not fit,
not healthy, not and trying to get there.
I think is going to could move the
needle in a way that other campaigns,
other things have not.
I'm anxious to see how it goes.
I'm going to try to keep following along
and hopefully there is a behind the
scenes.
Again,
all my information is from Claire's
Instagram.
And so I hope that there's more
information to come.
And I don't even know who's behind it.
He's wearing a Jocko Fuel t-shirt.
He is drinking Jocko Fuel.
I'm assuming they are part of this as
a sponsor of his weight loss journey.
So it'll be interesting to see how this
all goes.
I'm curious to know your thoughts on if
you think that is something...
if that is something that would move you
or move the needle for people you know
seeing a real person walk into a crossfit
gym for the first time on video holly
thinks it's awesome uh kenneth thinks i
should invite claire on see if she can
give you the rundown um i can try
to do that um
I actually canceled the guest I had this
week because of everything I have going on
with my sinuses and lungs,
just because I it's touch and go
throughout the day, how I feel.
And I didn't want to put that on
a guest.
Um, so if I feel good,
I come down and I do the show.
It's easy for me to like cancel just
me.
If I have a guest,
it makes it much harder.
And so.
That's why I just haven't had guests on,
but I can invite Claire on maybe.
I'll see if she can come on tomorrow
and add more context to it.
If she knows any more context.
So, yeah.
But I thought it was awesome.
Truly thought it was awesome.
I can't wait to see where it goes.
so anything else on the docket today not
much um i hope you guys enjoy your
thanksgiving dinner uh holly said there's
a couple stories on his ig yeah imagine
the content if every affiliate gave away a
free one-year membership and followed
their progress by providing content to
crossfit media
Lupe says,
should have signed Frank Ragnow,
the Bears.
I don't think they can.
When you retire,
you're still attached to the team you
retired from,
and it would have to be a trade.
But he came out of retirement,
and he's going to go back with the
Lions.
Not today, but probably next week.
DataWad says it shows his workout.
Okay.
Let me see if I can find that.
Okay.
I'll go ahead and show that, share that.
So here are his stories.
He is at mayhem.
that's josh malone on the right you can
tell because he's always wearing the tight
shirt and i cannot get the where's the
volume volume try to keep tension on the
band all the way down
And then I'm going to show you what
the difference is.
I am so freaking tired.
Danny and I have been on the road
literally six out of the last seven weeks.
I completed my first CrossFit class today
and it was ridiculous.
And then we spent the evening with family.
Tomorrow,
there's going to be like twenty freaking
people here for Thanksgiving.
Family that I haven't seen in like three
years at this point.
So there it is.
I understand Josh will take great care of
him at Mayhem.
Yeah, Josh is a great dude.
I think, I don't know, Andrew, did you,
that would have been before we met.
Mayhem Classic,
the first one they ever did in twenty
nineteen, twenty twenty.
I volunteered for it was really fun and
I got to meet Josh,
got to know everybody there at Mayhem.
It was really, really cool.
Yeah, I saw the WFP workouts.
I didn't want to talk about them entirely
today because...
Again, I am not an expert in programming.
I like when Jamie and Carolyn give their
input.
I have a lot of Carolyn's input.
She texted me a lot this morning.
But I want to have them talk about
it Sunday night.
The thing I find fascinating is why
release it on Thanksgiving Day?
I know Amanda Harry talked about how...
they may try to release things on
Thanksgiving as most of Americans would
not be paying attention.
Most people in the U S and maybe
they could sneak things through without
being people being so critical.
But I have seen that, um, uh,
Hiller's already done a video on the
workouts.
The one thing that I questioned big time
about these workouts is it is obvious that
they're heavy and,
And you've already had a lot of people
withdraw.
Now,
if you see all these workouts and you've
been dealing with injuries like a back
injury,
like say Alexis Raptus had a back injury
this year, working through that,
is this something that now,
if you were on the fence,
pushes you to withdraw now that you've
seen it?
Or do you try to get through it?
Jeff Adler coming off an injury,
gets through Rogue,
talks about how he didn't even trust his
body going through Rogue.
Do you risk it after already missing one
tour stop to go to Copenhagen and do
these heavy workouts?
Or is it something that you think you're
good at and you're going to go?
Does it push you to withdraw now that
you've seen them all?
Ariel Loewen in her video talked about how
her back burned through Rogue.
Looking at these,
probably going to burn again.
Is it worth the risk before the CrossFit
Games season to go through all of this
again?
Derek Summers, yep,
seeing all the workouts, well,
some athletes confirm that they are out.
I believe so, too.
I think that...
For people especially that were dealing
with injuries this season,
this is the straw that breaks the camel's
back,
and then they are going to call it
a day.
Kenneth DeLapp, he gets paid regardless,
right?
What I believe is that they've all been
paid their guaranteed money in the first
two tour stops,
and there is no guaranteed money at the
finals.
The finals is just the thing that sets
you up for next season's guaranteed money.
So if you don't care about next season's
money,
the only people getting paid are how you
finished in the season standings is my
take, is how I understand it.
I could be wrong.
Yeah, I said sneaking things through.
Actually,
Amanda Harry is the one that came up
with this.
I don't want to steal her idea.
On her video,
she talked about how maybe all the
withdrawals would be announced on
Thanksgiving where there would be less
media attention.
Stellar job by WFP social media people.
No, WFP is Christmas week, Kenneth.
uh lupe says you take the free flights
then drop out jody says free flight isn't
worth it at christmas time it's a lot
it's a lot yeah i think i think
amanda was on to something with trying to
sneak things through on a day where people
aren't paying attention in the states
They're more concerned with their
international clientele at this point.
And they don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
So for them, it's just a normal day.
And so they announced the workouts to them
here in the States.
They tried to sneak through.
But as you know, Hiller's always looking,
always watching.
And the video is already out.
And if he's put it out,
more eyes are going to see it.
But I know Carolyn has thoughts already.
We're going to talk about it Sunday night
for sure.
We'll go through all the workouts and get
her opinion on all that as well as
Jamie.
So we're not going to skip over it.
It's just I am not a programming expert
and I don't know enough to give my
take on different things.
I know where my lane is and that
is not it.
The only point I want to make is
I think that more people withdraw after
seeing how heavy it is,
especially if you have nagging injuries or
you've been fighting through an injury all
season.
Why would you want to risk going through
that again by doing another heavy
competition that may be overprogrammed?
So.
With that,
we're just a couple minutes away from
kickoff.
I'm going to let you guys go watch
some football,
go have some dinner with your friends and
family.
Walter and I will be having our chicken
and orzo Greek salad and enjoying that.
Medeiros will honor his commitment.
He's got a solid moral and ethical
compass.
he probably also likes the guaranteed
money for next season too.
Like let's not,
I do think he's going to honor it
after watching boys interrupted this week.
I think he and James and Dallin appear
to be going regardless of whatever is
going on.
Um, by the way they were talking, uh,
they've already tested the workouts that
were released.
And I do believe that the three of
them are competing for sure.
so plus i think that that justin is
growing in appreciation for the community
and the fan base around all the fitness
competitions
Derek Summers, other than the first heat,
it should still be a fun competition to
watch.
I mean, I'm going to watch it,
but I am a CrossFit nerd.
I watch all of this stuff.
Like,
I'm not the person they're trying to
attract to this thing because I'm going to
watch it regardless.
It's the fringe people they need to get
into the crowds and into the streams.
Wayne Short, every time someone drops out,
Roman's smile gets bigger.
I'll tell you what,
James Sprague's smile better be...
James is in the lead,
and every time someone drops out,
his lead gets bigger.
But Roman made a comment,
Corey sent it to me,
on the workout three, where Roman said,
now I see why every...
This is very loosely interpreting what he
said,
but now I see why people are dropping
out.
And then Sprague responded,
it's just you and me, big boy.
Having star power sure helps improve the
numbers of views.
I don't know if you can even...
We can't see the numbers.
We only are being told what the numbers
are because they're doing it on their own
website.
So I don't know how true any of
that is.
I don't know how true any of that
is.
The track record of the transparency and
honesty of WFP over the course of this
year has not been great for them to
be the only ones that know what the
true numbers are and be the ones to
tell us what they are.
I don't know.
Hopefully, Dallin doesn't bow out.
It didn't sound like he was going to
bow out when boys interrupted,
but you never know.
He could test them and then say,
my body's not recovered enough,
and I need to take a couple more
months to make sure that I'm ready for
the game season.
And all that would be valid.
Like,
that's where the true exposure and money
is, is the CrossFit game season.
And that has to be their priority.
All right, guys.
I'm going to head up,
