We are back, baby.
After a great family weekend,
I get to hang out with you guys
again.
Let's talk.
From the gym to the screen, yeah,
we cover it all.
Midday motivation every time you press
call.
Lunch with the Clydesdale.
Cowboy bring the heat.
Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.
Half hour hustle, yeah,
we building that brand.
Grab a plate, tune in now,
you part of the fam.
It's lunch time.
What's going on, everybody?
I didn't know if the cowboy was going
to be here,
but he slipped in the back door at
the last minute.
I may or may not have been on
the wrong show.
Yeah, so, yeah.
I get organized and I throw everybody off.
They're listed from bottom to top.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
And I just went, boom,
not even thinking about it.
And I'm like, it's weird.
Scott's normally here by now.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's StreamYard.
I don't get to put the order.
No, it ain't your fault.
Believe me.
I can read.
I swear to God, I can.
Seema Boobs says, yay, he's back.
Glad to be back.
But I had a great weekend.
I had such a great weekend.
My daughter flew in from Montana for the
week.
She went to her cousin's graduation
Saturday.
But we got to spend all day yesterday.
I took the day off.
Went up to the record store.
Searched around the records.
Got a great Billy Idol album.
There's a...
I don't remember if it's or which channel
it's on.
There's a Netflix documentary about Billy
Idol that just came out recently.
Billy Idol Should Be Dead,
I'm pretty sure is the title of it.
I think he's underrated as one of the
greatest artists of our time.
If you look down through his catalog,
you'd be like, oh, yeah, oh, oh, ooh,
yeah, yeah, oh.
like because nine nine people nine percent
people know white wedding yep and money
money and like nothing else but you get
into like flesh for fantasy and eyes
without a face and rock the cradle of
love i don't think i think
rebel yell rebel yell i don't know if
people realize that he actually and eyes
without a face is actually him because
it's so different than everything else
yeah it's it's so good it's it was
the greatest hits album they just he just
brought out um so good it's so good
and then my my daughter she went to
ou here in in the state of ohio
and there's a band from that
that area and all their albums have um
pictures from athens ohio and she has all
but two of them and we found one
of them in the record store so we
got that for hung out played some games
uh did a bunch of stuff so uh
so yeah i'm getting texts from my wife
to check the laundry while i'm down here
you got it yeah yeah i'm in the
middle of a show but hey can you
check the dryer while you're at it take
a short break and make sure that try
stuff's dry would you so lido our friend
age group semis happened yesterday and she
is just on the outside looking in i
think i think she's going to be all
right at french throwdown this weekend yep
she gets to go into um
She gets to go into French.
She gets one of the three spots.
She's a phenomenal athlete.
Yeah, I think she's eighteenth,
seventeenth, eighteenth?
Seventeenth, eighteenth,
something like that.
She's in good company.
Like Christian Panczak was right in front
of her.
Yep.
I was really surprised.
I thought she was going to crush it.
Yeah.
I'm sure she went to standard.
We'll see if the other people do because
video review is for the next week.
There's already people out there showing
videos showing I'm getting stuff sent to
me where people are doing the quarter
squat snatch.
If
If quarter squat.
Yeah.
Like four inches above parallel is too
much.
Yeah.
It basically,
if you're just doing a power snatch and
just going about your business,
you should probably not submit that video.
I'm just going to go ahead and put
that out there as a, as a,
for instance, in our little group chat,
it just before we went on air,
like when, and Lex said this,
she was like,
if you look at your first rep and
your first rep isn't even close,
why are you submitting the video?
It makes no logical sense whatsoever.
I have agonized over sending stuff in for
qualifiers that I was like, man,
that looks so close.
Like, I don't,
I don't know if I want to do
that.
I've already done entire workouts because
I mean,
trying to get to the games and they're
like, that looks good.
Just going to send it.
I get it when you're like at parallel
and it's a tough call or is it
there?
Is it not there?
Some of these that I'm seeing aren't even
close.
Yeah.
Aren't even close.
Yeah.
I don't get it.
Lita says,
I'm gutted as I redid the handstand pushup
workout to get clean reps,
got a worse score and posted that to
only see most people kipping strict
handstand pushups and having ridiculous
muted hips.
hopefully they correct that and she won
double jackie let's go i don't even want
to do double jackie and she won it
um so hopefully they review and find all
this stuff and the right people get in
i think um shanna is in a pretty
good spot going into video review
uh amanda i saw her here early amanda's
in a good spot um so mark forever
our pessimist but he brings us so much
joy i have low expectations i like the
fact that it's public yep i um and
i've looked and people are voting oh
hundred percent
everybody i know who did quarterfinals oh
excuse me semifinals online is like i've
got several texts already like hey can you
can you go can you go check this
dude can you check this dude out just
tell me what you think i mean if
you're gonna vote while you're there
that'd be cool too i've got plenty of
them already which i don't mind doing
because i have no skin in the game
whatsoever and i will i don't give a
who you are if i don't think you're
going to standard you're not going to
standard period i don't care
Yeah,
I saw some votes that just make no
sense to me.
Well,
some people are just going and just –
so I think it has to get so
many downvotes before it is brought to
whoever's attention as far as that's
concerned,
as far as that process is concerned.
So I think people are going through and
just going, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope,
nope, nope,
all the way through and then letting
whoever on the other end – like the
thought – the thinking being if it gets
enough downvotes,
it's going to get – and whether it's
good or not,
somebody's going to actually have to go
through and look at it that's higher up
and has some sort of say over it.
that make sense yeah but i this year
you have to put a comment yeah well
i mean it's not that hard to do
boom not below parallel going about your
business yeah it doesn't take long you can
copy and paste that quick fast in a
hurry and get through a bunch of videos
in a short amount of time yeah but
when you do that like it's a quick
spot check right
I don't know.
I hope that people are on the up
and up.
The way to make this better is for
people to legitimately view the videos and
judge accordingly.
I don't disagree with you.
I'm just telling you what my possibly very
flawed theory is.
Oh, I don't disagree with you at all.
I think people are just going in
having their friends go in and vote down
their competition with hopes of getting
in, things like that.
But hopefully that isn't.
And the solution isn't don't put overhead
squats in the online competition.
No.
No, that makes sense.
Vicki says, shoot,
I put in timestamps and everything.
That's because you're one of the good
ones.
That's because you actually give a damn
and spend time to actually go through and
look at them.
Good job, Vicki.
And I do think there's a lot of
people that do that.
Sure.
I just don't think,
I think there is a chunk that are
helping out their friends.
so one thing i saw on the leaderboard
that kind of shocked me is i forgot
travis mayor was a masters oh yeah and
he's been around forever man and so that
thirty five to thirty nine could be pretty
jam-packed i like hobart talking about it
yesterday um
He forgot Noah was a master.
His times on the semifinals are absolutely
insane.
Noah could probably qualify for the games
if he wanted to.
If he was so inclined.
He wants to do the online or the
masters.
Here we go.
Yeah.
Noah in the semi.
There you go.
Con Porter third.
Scott Pancheck's already punched his
ticket.
Yep.
Sam Dancer's already punched his ticket.
Sam Dancer's mustache.
Mark Juan Jones has already punched his
ticket.
Saw Mark Juan at Mad Men.
Good dude, man.
So that's going to be fun, man.
That's going to be fun.
It's like a reunion tour.
Yeah.
i think it's what we all hoped legend
the legends division at rogue would be yes
except it's at the games now yeah but
at rogue it turned into this friendly
let's just pair up and and you know
nobody cares unless you're on rich's team
like that kind of stuff yeah yeah
Yeah.
So, interesting.
Our very own Jamie Latimer is sitting in
pretty good position.
Fourth overall.
Let's go.
So, Vicky,
you're the only one hearing the echo that
I know of.
Nobody else has even mentioned it.
So there it is.
I haven't anything.
I know so many of these masters athletes.
So many of them are in a good
spot.
Kate Curry's in a good spot.
Kate's awesome.
I'm trying to think of all of the
people that are in our group here.
It seems like everybody's in a pretty good
spot.
Do you have any FOMO this weekend?
A little bit.
little bit but at the same time dude
i also know what it takes to like
all of that especially for me like i
can't do the rope climb when at my
gym or just don't high enough so i
have i have to go somewhere else and
i have to have my two judges also
somewhere else with me and one of my
two judges was in minnesota this past
weekend visiting his son so like what do
i do now you know and then uh
That means somebody else has got to take
the advanced judges course.
And it's just a whole thing, dude.
So yeah, for sure.
I got to shout out to Larry Young,
who was like,
I know you could have qualified if you'd
have done these.
I'm like, I mean,
I'd have gave it hell for damn sure.
But no, I have not done them yet.
Peter, I'll probably do a couple of them.
I don't even know when, honestly.
Right now,
I am one session a day in the
morning, lift, accessory,
MedCon for the next six weeks or two,
squatting.
My yearly squat cycle just started.
So I would like to do them just
to kind of see what they were like,
whether or not I actually get around to
it or not.
I wouldn't say it's a high priority,
but if you like that.
Mark Moss says he judges you because he
judges you all the time anyways.
That's my homeboy, man.
Love that dude.
Speaking of your judge being away,
apparently Hiller has found another
substitute judge misidentifying themselves
in a video,
pulling up pictures saying that the person
they say they are isn't actually who they
are.
so now we're back to this for the
second year in a row where hey judge
is away so you just play the part
you play the part while they're they're
away and we'll just say you're the
qualified judge like that didn't even
cross my mind i got a couple people
at the gym i will like i trust
you judge me that i know we're going
to help me hold me to the standard
that I know we're going to make sure
everything's counted right, you know,
or they're invested, right?
Close friends of mine.
One of them, like I said,
Jeff was in Minnesota over the weekend
visiting his son and his daughter-in-law.
So at no point would I have entertained,
well,
I'll just get Aaron to come out there
and say he's Jeff because...
It wouldn't be that hard to figure out.
Jeff's got a pretty good social media
presence,
and he was on every single one of
my videos from last year's finals.
When you had to introduce him beforehand,
hey, this is Bernard, this is Jeff,
this is, you know,
twenty-five point whatever,
moving right along.
I just can't fathom what's going.
Look, Scott,
I'm going to need you to say that
you are Jeff Plaisance whenever you go in
there and just be like, hi, I'm Jeff.
And then last year people got called out,
called out for it.
Like there was several different fucking
Hillary videos about it.
So why would you even do it again?
Like at what point?
Good idea to go.
I know those guys got caught last year,
but surely we can go ahead and run
it again this year and it'd be fine.
Cause if you're found out your automate,
the whole thing is null and void.
You are done.
You just did all that work for nothing.
Yeah.
Yep.
The juice is not worth the squeeze,
in my opinion.
Not at all.
For how hard it is or how annoying
it is to measure a rope from the
floor.
Like, just that alone is annoying.
You got to get a ladder.
You got to make sure you can see
the bottom.
Go all the way up to the top.
Fifteen feet in the air, dude.
Not an easy thing to do.
Hey, this is a tape line.
This one will be touching.
All of that stuff.
And then because you decided that you're
just going to try to skirt around and
be like, well, I mean,
this is a judge.
It's not the judge that they say they
are.
All of that.
And then do the entire workout and then
go, nah.
Okay.
so it's funny because that did you hear
what happened to jamie no i did not
so i need to so she went to
do the rope climb at another facility so
that she was compliant and she took her
own rope her own climbing rope and
installed it at the other gym but because
her ceiling is not tall enough her rope
was short oh so it's dangling
so she had a dangling rope she did
a shorty shorty wrote for that whole
workout she's such a beast dude i gotta
text her and i think that turned out
to be her worst workout of the weekend
If you've never jumped on a rope that's
not, I won't say anchored to the floor,
but just like has some drag in the
floor where it doesn't fly everywhere as
soon as you grab a hold to it
because you're jumping to grab it,
it's an experience.
Anything that's got a couple of feet
that's not touching the floor,
like it's now just loose and kind of
in the air.
She's a stud, dude.
She's an absolute stud.
Yeah.
Mark Moss says, you'll be fine.
I'll send Hill or some C-IV.
You're behind the times, Mark.
It's got to be Gorilla Mind.
It's Gorilla Mind now.
Got to be Gorilla Mind.
Particularly the root beer one.
He's been drinking the shit out of that.
Meredith Jones, I mean,
Corey and Jamie will actively choose not
to do a competition because they don't
want to put their judges out on a
holiday weekend, etc.
And then you have someone who just flat
out lies.
Yeah.
yeah um what else from the hillar video
today betty betty the beast of the seventy
plus woman who was way below parallel on
her squat snatches so no one's gonna live
a long time no excuses man no dude
none whatsoever that was amazing that
ladies that ladies and all yeah she's like
betty the beast absolutely god bless her
wherever she's at
um so yeah and then the last thing
i wanted to say about hiller i know
a lot of people probably are not
interested in this episode but the hiller
cast that he did with mark carmen okay
it it it's one of those mind melds
because mark carmen hosts my chicago bears
podcast every day oh all right killer is
my crossfit
one of my CrossFit sources every day.
And they interviewed each other.
But what was mind-boggling about it for
me, not only that my worlds are colliding,
was that the stuff that Mark was saying
he put up with in the media of
the NFL and the media of the Chicago
Bears is all the same stuff that we
bitch about in CrossFit.
I'm going to have to check it out
then because that's a lot of stuff.
It's good to know it's open.
Like it's, it's everywhere.
Cause I guarantee if he's dealing with
that, the NFL, it's the same way.
And it's probably the same way in
baseball.
It's probably the same way in soccer.
Like that's, that's good stuff.
What I found interesting was when he first
came to CHGO, and Clock Cutter,
he's a listener too,
he learned a lot about Karm and CHGO.
Cool interview.
CHGO is the podcast that Karm is a
host of.
When he first came,
he was ripped to shreds on there.
He was getting as much hate as love.
Got it.
And the owner of the company said,
the more they hate you,
the more I love you.
Because all it does is bring engagement to
the channel.
Eyeballs.
And it made me think, like,
that's how Hiller operates, right?
He's not trying to get hate,
but he's trying to get a reaction out
of you.
One way or another.
Right.
Exactly.
You said it on this channel.
You don't like us, cool.
In the comments,
tell me how much you don't like me.
It feeds the algorithm.
It was wild.
Yeah, I mean,
when people hate you and they have to
tell you in the comments like six days
in a row, okay, that's engagement.
Keep telling me.
Hit that dislike button.
It's engagement.
Tell me how much you don't like me.
You know what?
I love you telling me how much you
don't like me.
Wayne said it sounded like they pulled
Hiller into a CHGO podcast as well.
Hiller actually got pulled in on the radio
in Chicago on Sports Radio.
One thousand ESPN Chicago.
That's what they were referencing in the
podcast because I watched that as well.
because all I watch is Bears and CrossFit
and some movies.
Oh, speaking of movies,
we went and saw Project Hail Mary over
the weekend.
Dude, it's three hours long.
Let's go ahead and warn you right now.
But oh my goodness, it is fantastic.
So I read the book.
I've seen it in quite some time.
so I read the book and it is
a massively huge book well we weren't
expecting it to be three hours long we
I guess neither myself nor my wife nor
Brody that looked at the actual runtime so
like it started at four fifteen or
something like that and it was like after
seven by the time we got out of
there um but at no point was I
like this movie's taken forever it was
amazing fantastic watch
Yeah,
it's definitely on my list of things to
see.
My mom was here,
so we have to be very careful about
what we watch.
She's very particular about the stuff she
watches.
So we watched a movie called Ordinary
Angels with Hilary Swank and the guy who
plays Reacher.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, I did see the trailer for that.
It's a phenomenal movie.
Phenomenal.
It just came out last year.
It's on Peacock now, streaming.
Sweet.
True story.
It was great.
It was great.
So what else do I have?
You know what else is phenomenal?
Thirdsy.
Thirdsy.
Yep.
You can get it for fifteen percent off
by using promo code Jazzy at checkout.
Or go to thirdsy.com backslash jazzy and
get fifteen percent off that way.
Especially if you're an age group athlete
and you just finished these semifinal
workouts and you need to recover,
you need to get sleep,
and you need to know it's safe to
use without popping you for drugs.
Because that's coming.
Well, they're not testing anybody,
so it's not coming.
Well, eventually.
But if you're one of these people who
have ethics and morals and don't want to
cheat, then you want to use third C.
Certified C for sport.
So there it is.
All the good stuff.
I helped and asked the question,
and I actually had this on my list.
so i'm actually going to turn this over
to you for one second sure my daughter's
calling yeah get it um so i started
watching the new world wrote the games uh
episode with uh with the boys there i
am probably i'm not probably i'm nine
minutes and twenty eight seconds in i
didn't really i mean
I don't really have a whole opinion about
it because I wasn't paying that much
attention to it at that point.
I do like the fact that they're doing
them.
I thought the first one was pretty good.
The second one seems like a little bit
more of the same type stuff.
I wish that – so the old road
to the games, you know,
you had –
you know just name people brook wells and
and who right this is just the boys
and it seems to be just the boys
again why are we not followed why are
we not talking to whoever else so i
i have i have boys interrupted fatigue
yeah they're everywhere
We've seen the boys at the ranch.
We've seen boys at the military base.
We saw two of the boys in Road
to the Games one.
I loved Road to the Games one,
but it was because of the interactions
with Danielle and Ariel and Lucy Campbell
and those pieces of the open announcements
and Colton.
right so that's why i loved road to
the games one and i thought it was
one of the best pieces of content they've
put out in a while but this second
one it's like my boys interrupted went
live on all those events on their own
channel yeah we already know what happened
with them now i'm getting a crossfit recap
of it and it's nothing against them it's
just that
CrossFit has just glued themselves to
those four.
Right.
There's other athletes in the space.
And it's not that they're not
entertaining.
They are.
Right?
They all have their own personalities and
whatnot.
But like you said, fatigue is a thing.
And there's a whole bunch of other people
who are on the road to the games.
Why aren't we talking to them?
Why aren't we...
why aren't we sending somebody else to
anybody else who did anything else at this
point?
It just seems it's a bit much.
Like I said, I'm ten minutes in.
I couldn't tell you anything that actually
happened because I had a plan,
started paying attention,
and then it was just like, okay, yeah,
we've already,
this is a ground we already covered.
That's what it felt like.
So I watched the whole thing.
The only part I found entertaining was
Bucket Golf that they played.
Yeah.
I was just starting to look at that.
That was just them being...
bros and not really about the workouts.
I don't need another recap of how you
did this workout,
or we already heard that you drew out
of a hat.
We already heard that you did like.
It's common knowledge at this point,
if you're in the space and paying
attention at all, at all, at all.
So that worries me about road to the
games three or whatever live at mayhem.
Mayhem put out how much content that
weekend?
What is CrossFit going to find that Mayhem
hasn't put out?
Yeah, because at that point,
you could cobble together stuff.
I could cobble together stuff from all the
various Mayhem broadcasts that they did
and just the produced pieces of content
and put something out and call it Road
to the Games.
It would not be hard to do.
Yeah.
So hopefully they find a different angle
or perspective, but I'm not optimistic.
No.
And that's what I've been saying about the
sparkly band,
enhanced access at the games,
and me not caring that they're restricting
it this year.
Because it's to a point where,
and Hiller mentioned it this morning,
how much access was given and how little
content came out.
And I talked about that last week a
little bit.
And this week,
what I want to say is,
it's hard to find angles and ways to
be different when there's just this mass
of,
All with the same access,
all trying to get the same people,
ask the same questions.
And I think it sucks for the athletes.
Well, it's...
I picture somebody in it like...
A local news story happening in every
local reporter and whatnot,
all got their microphones in his dude's
mouth and his dude's face while he's
talking.
And then you watch the news that night
and it's the exact same interview.
He answers a set set of questions and
it's on every single channel.
Yep.
So like you can watch one and you
can get the gist of all the other
ones.
So do we really need all the other
ones necessarily?
I know why they're all doing it because
they all need to have something and they
all want to report it and people watch
different channels.
But there's no nuance take on it.
There's no...
you know, Hey,
this is from my perspective or not.
It's just, Hey, this is,
this is what happened.
Here we go.
And you can watch it over here too.
And here we go.
And you can watch it over here too.
And here we go.
Wayne short says, Brandon,
raw flow and fish would be great stories
to follow.
I'll give you fish.
I'm following Daniel Brandon.
It would not be interested.
They tried that and she just didn't give
them anything.
Either that or they didn't try for
anything.
I don't think they tried for anything
because she puts out whatever the hell she
wants to on her Instagram daily.
What I want to see is Miley Wade.
I want to see Lucy McGonigal.
Yeah.
I want to see Ty Jenkins.
I want to see people we haven't seen
before.
Sure.
Amy Kringle,
we got a glimpse of her on a
quarter of a road to the games.
Harry Lightfoot did not get enough time
last year.
I want to see these up-and-comers that are
going to be the future.
I mean, what about...
the dude that did really well at mayhem
did Quinn Robinson.
Yes.
Quinn Robinson.
I want to know more about him.
That dude is showing up from crash to
mayhem to WFP.
He has just started blowing it up and
he's on a meteoric rise.
And that's what I,
that's the story I want to see.
that's a story that people don't know it,
but they want to see because aside from
his mom and his friends, maybe as coach,
nobody knows who the hell that dude is.
Nobody knows where he came from.
Right.
That's so much untapped material there.
Yeah.
Right.
I don't want to see this.
The people that have been to the games
eight years.
I don't, I, they, they're,
Their content level is pretty dried up
unless Danielle's willing to talk.
Correct.
To actually be herself.
Right.
Yeah.
Nobody, uh,
everybody knows that Ricky Mack likes to
ride, uh,
mountain bikes in his spare time and will
dislocate his shoulder doing it.
Everybody that's, that's a common thing.
Yep.
it's not, it's not new ground.
It doesn't need to be filmed.
It doesn't need to be like, Hey, Oh,
and by the way, there's Ricky.
Yep.
Cool.
Awesome.
And you just kind of weigh using this
goes on about his business.
So the new people will offer,
and I'd love to know more.
I think there is a tiny bit of
a language barrier there because Victor
has been on the scene.
He's been hurt a lot,
but he's been on the scene and,
And I think it's, he is really French.
He's exceptionally English has caught up.
It's kind of like Roman for a couple
of years where you'd love to know more
about Roman, but he,
it's just hard to get it because of
the language barrier.
I'd love to know more about Roman without,
uh, having to hear what's her name.
Just, uh, translating for it.
yep i i know her i see her
all the time uh i know her name
too it blows my mind i can't think
of it right now nothing against her but
like i feel like i feel like roman's
english has got to be better by now
like roman talks for thirty minutes and
her response then translating is two
seconds there's been some paraphrasing
going on
A little bit of shortening right there.
I don't know Russian,
but I do know that if he's talking
that long and she's talking that short,
there's a,
there's some paraphrasing for sure.
Yeah.
They asked him a question.
He goes on for thirty five, forty,
forty five a minute.
And she goes, he felt really good.
Yeah, no, that's not what he said.
Hex,
you'll ever love watching from the
beginning while it's still live.
Comments are epic when I have no clue
what the topic is.
You're welcome.
So all that's going on.
The other thing I wanted,
two other things I want to talk about
were the harsh penalties that came up in
Dave's week in review.
I just want to give my opinion.
It all started with Gwen,
where he said he would never program it
because the penalty for missing is too
much.
And of course,
and everybody came with Sam Briggs in the
handstand walk,
the muscle up biathlon with the runs,
all of that stuff, right?
I don't see a problem.
This is a competition where you are trying
to become the fittest on earth.
And if you can't finish a workout or
can't do it the way it was written,
then you should be penalized.
It's part of the game.
Now,
he did soften his stance at the very
end of this week's Week in Review where
he's like,
I'm not saying they shouldn't have
programmed it.
I'm just saying I wouldn't have programmed
it.
Right.
And he said, if you notice,
we have not done the long floor-length
unbroken handstand walk since that
happened.
No,
but they still have mandated some pretty
long unbroken sections.
And, like,
if you're going over an obstacle –
You have to go over the entire obstacle,
which I understand that part of it.
Um,
I don't think he was thinking of thinking
of it in terms like that whenever he
initially said it,
like he was thinking that, you know,
you get to twelve and you don't get
twelve.
You get eleven and not twelve.
That's a bit.
You got to go back and do twelve
more.
That's a lot.
I can take that from experience.
Yeah, I was going to ask, you know,
that hundred percent, hundred percent.
And I can tell you that as a
Masters athlete,
I wasn't picking it up again.
I probably could have gotten nine if I'd
have needed to,
but I wasn't going to make twelve.
There's no way.
Of course, Hellson says, of course,
otherwise it becomes just a transition
game.
No risk of failure.
Failure just who moves quicker between
transitions.
And transactions.
Yeah, dude.
He's not wrong.
It has to mean something.
And my wife,
who only watches stuff if I'm watching it,
right,
or only watches it if I'm doing it,
watched, I want to say,
three or four heats,
maybe five heats of people doing Gwen at
Magic City,
and she will tell you right now,
it's the most exciting thing she's ever
seen.
Well,
we talked about it with Carolyn the other
night for her experience at WFP.
First event, she was like,
everybody took off like a shot on the
transitions.
And she was like, shit,
I'm not in the master's division anymore.
Right?
It's a whole thing.
Like all that matters now.
Yeah.
Um, and,
and that's like just a wake up call
that, yeah, that,
that is what's very important when you get
into the elite athlete division.
There's no walking to the sandbag.
It's a different vibe.
Yeah, no, there's no,
let me casually stroll up over here,
adjust my belt before I go ahead and
pick this thing up.
No, no, no.
You better be moving because everybody
else is moving.
All right,
so one more thing I wanted to just
talk about briefly, and that is Xenon.
Oh, yes.
And I don't know if you saw this.
Oh, okay.
Our very own Carolyn Prevost is signed up
and ready to go for Xenon in June.
So that's pretty pumped up to see that.
I'm excited because I've talked to Wilson
about this.
And one of my main questions is,
how is this a watchable event?
Like you go to a High Rocks,
you can sit on the barricade and maybe
watch them run by you.
Or maybe you can go over by the
one place where they do burpee long jumps
or whatever the hell it is.
You know, I don't know.
It's a burpee broad jump.
Okay, there we go.
I got it.
I was making a point with my description.
Yes, sir.
I got you.
I got you.
It's like, how do you watch that event?
And he said,
the owner-founder is very big on,
he wants to make it a cool spectator
experience.
So when you go in for like that
day, there are stations set up.
And the crowd is not in the stands.
The crowd is allowed on the field.
with the stations so you can go from
station to station with the person you're
following alright and you do like station
one and then you get one hour break
station two one hour break station three
one hour break station four one hour break
station five that's a whole day right
there
so much to think about from my athlete's
perspective, right?
You get an hour break in between and
it's, you got five stations per day.
So you're looking at at least five hours,
right?
Just, just,
or four hours rather just breaking.
Right.
Yeah.
When do you eat?
When you go use the potting,
when you get some actual rest like that's
going to be a whole lot of stuff
to try to logistically figure out as a,
as an athlete, when do I do this?
How do I do that?
How do I approach this?
Knowing I got this later on, man.
The thing is, you know,
the event and you know, the event order,
you know, you're starting at one,
you're going to five and,
you know,
you're getting an hour break between each
one.
So hopefully you can plan that ahead
because it isn't as unknown and unknowable
as like a CrossFit workout.
No, but even knowing that ahead of time,
it's, it's, it's,
it throws a different wrinkle or aspect in
it from my perspective anyway.
Like,
I know when I would normally,
like we had two events a day,
magic city had a big break in between.
So I had a chance to go home,
eat, take a little nap, rest,
get ready for the next one.
You you're,
you're at that facility all day.
Like anybody CrossFit workout.
This is, this is a different competition.
It's testing different things.
I like it.
I like it.
Definitely different.
He's insane, dude.
Like if you break the record,
it and so there are no records right
now, right?
Dallas is number one.
Yeah.
When you have broken the record,
you get twenty five grand.
On two, which I think is overseas.
I think it's overseas.
Yeah.
London or Paris, one of them.
I think Paris.
If you break the record there,
twenty five grand.
If nobody breaks the record,
that twenty five carries over to the next.
OK.
And then that pot grows till somebody
breaks the record.
That is crazy town banana pants.
So you could have a Xenon where people
are showing up to win a hundred thousand
dollars.
Well, I mean, I wonder if, okay,
so I'm in heat one and I set
the record for whatever he, whatever the,
you know, the first,
first one of the day,
because everybody who's there,
you're going to set a record first event.
That's just how records work.
I don't know if anybody knows that or
not.
Yep.
And then whoever comes back in heat two.
They just beat you.
Now they have a record.
It's got to be towards the end of
the day.
Big money is all ten events and your
score.
Remember,
they're scoring this each event as a
thousand points possible.
It's actually not exactly that because if
you exceed par,
you can get more than a thousand points.
But the goal is to get as close
to ten thousand as you can get.
And whatever your overall score is for the
day,
that's the record that wins the money.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Okay.
So in that case,
then somebody's going to win twenty five
grand when they get to stop to.
Event to whatever you want to call it,
like the one that's across the pond.
Only if they can beat the score from
Dallas.
So if now you know what all the
scores are,
you could see people do the workouts.
Assuming people in London haven't seen him
or whatnot,
that's a whole lot easier to plan for.
Sure,
but you've got to beat them through ten
events.
Mm-hmm.
So it's not, I mean,
I get what you're saying.
Scores are posted.
You know what you have to eat,
but you still have to do it over
ten events, which I think.
It's like looking at an active leaderboard
and going, okay,
I need to be this fast on Fran.
I need to be this good on DT.
I need to be, you know.
Right.
And just looking at it and going, okay,
I can probably do this.
So I look at it going,
there's no way on God's green earth I'm
going to be able to beat that.
Well, if it's a one event,
like just one workout,
I think that plays a big role.
You know where you have to be.
But if you kill yourself to beat that
score,
what effect does that have on the nine
other ones?
And then can you ramp it up for
those?
With an hour,
with only an hour to recover in between.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That really becomes a recovery game at
that point.
Helson says,
sounds like an enhanced kill Taylor.
It's essentially that.
That's crazy, dude.
I like that a lot.
And I think they're only allowing, like,
it's a small number, like,
into that upper... Yeah, the...
So it's only like twenty athletes that are
going for that record each time.
Like, you know, Abbey Dome,
it's going to be in there.
Carolyn Prevost,
Gracie Walton that have that they've
announced are going to be in that RX
division.
And then on the men's side,
it's Zane Healy, Jake Douglas.
Riley Martin.
They'll be in that Emily Rolfe is at
this one too.
So yeah, it's going to be,
it's going to be fun to see cause
you got to do a three K run
and you got to do a one rep
max snatch.
Maximize your points,
maximize your points.
And then one more thing,
just because I'm the grumpy old man that
yells at the clouds.
Hmm.
So they put this out.
What is Xenon?
One, the swiping thing, isn't this like,
two thousand twenty four?
So anyway, I swipe.
Could we use a smaller freaking font?
I can't read any of that.
I am an old man.
I have bifocals on and I am struggling.
struggling there we go you can see like
all the rage everybody's using these like
teeny ass fonts on every post and i
i'm like i'm constantly doing the and the
majority of the people who are reading
that are reading that on a phone
Not a laptop where it's a whole lot
easier to blow it up and look at
it.
They're doing like this and going,
let me see if I can check that
out.
And then you hold the one finger to
slide it to the area you need.
Yeah, it's just not good.
So, yeah, Savon was like,
so you could win two hundred fifty K
in Dallas.
No,
it is twenty five K to win the
overall championship in Dallas.
And then the they get a score,
say it's seven thousand seven hundred and
seventy seven.
And then you go to London,
if someone gets seven thousand seven
hundred seventy eight,
they win twenty five grand.
if you got beat seven seven seven seven
it moves that rolls over i'm the guy
that would get seven seven seven six yeah
son of a two points uh back on
the small font never let designers make
decisions look how pretty this looks yeah
nobody can read it
Yeah,
what good is the aesthetic if I don't
know what it says?
Look at this thing I designed.
It's so pretty.
It only works on reels or stories.
Then people have to stay longer and read
it to boost the algorithm.
Gotcha.
That's a great point, Seema.
Thank you.
But yeah, the swipe right thing,
I thought that was like out in twenty
twenty four is what I was told.
by my twenty-five-year-old daughter.
Well, if that's the case,
then I should probably not have posted my
little post this morning with the girl
that was standing behind me for Gwen,
because that's exactly what I did.
You were doing that for effect of her
face.
A hundred percent.
Like, that made sense.
A hundred percent.
Sweep through the slide thing.
So we got pictures yesterday, dude,
and I'm going through them, right?
And that picture popped up.
And I'm like, I'm trying to,
it took me a second.
I'm like, oh,
this is right after the barbell came
flying out on my hands.
And I saw her in the background and
I went, no way.
I zoomed in on it and I was
like, that is perfect right there.
I said, that girl can count to ten,
can count to twelve.
Jeremy says, I swiped right on Corey.
He ignored it.
Since Scott is here, Jeremy,
I'm going to go ahead and point out
the fact that he stayed in the room
with me that you were supposed to stay
in at MFC in twenty twenty three.
So just throw that out there.
Kenneth wants to know if there's a if
I think there's a Hunter McIntyre type
that can just go to every xenon and
clean house.
No, no,
because he'd have to beat his own record.
Right.
Consistently.
right not a thing and if there's say
twelve locations in a year can every
locate at every location he break his own
record no and it's gonna i think it's
i think you're right i think people are
gonna break it for the first couple yeah
because nobody knows what it is right now
nobody knows what a good score is
none of that stuff it's going to take
a couple attempts to get a level set
of where it like actually makes sense and
it becomes like this bar that everybody's
shooting for yeah and it wouldn't surprise
me if there was a
like a crux,
like out of one of the ten workouts,
somebody's looking at one of them and
going, that's the one.
You have to get X amount of points
on that one or the rest of it
doesn't matter.
Like that wouldn't surprise me,
depending on what it ends up being.
Yeah.
So I'm anxious to see it.
If it was,
Savant says you get your points relative
to the field.
You do not.
It is like golf.
They set basically what is par for that
event and a ceiling that they think can
be reached.
And it's a chart,
an algorithm that gets messed with.
But it doesn't change.
And that's the key to it.
That algorithm and that chart do not
change.
And wherever you land on that plot,
that's your score for that event.
And it just happens over and over.
Uh,
Savant Wilson POC is running a lot of
this and I had a long conversation with
him.
If you want to know more,
he is your man.
He knows, he knows everything.
He let me ask whatever questions I wanted
about it.
Some, he would answer some, he wouldn't,
but I got a pretty good idea of
what it was.
I like that.
Wilson's a good dude.
Real good, dude.
He came real close to showing me a
three-D rendering, and he's like,
I better not do that.
I understand, and I appreciate that.
Maybe not.
Let's hold off on that.
So if you score more than the standard,
you don't become the new standard.
No, it actually...
Say that the max stand,
the thousand points for a one rep max
snatch is three thirty.
Because there are very few people that can
snatch over three thirty in our field,
right?
Right.
But say Tudor Magda goes to Dallas and
he snatches three thirty five.
He could actually get like one thousand
and eight points.
For that event,
but you would have to exceed this.
Standard that through data and everything,
nobody thinks you're going to do.
You would have to shoot it out of
the...
You would have to shoot the moon to
get that score.
Perfect scenario every single time.
And I don't know what the snatch standard
is.
So that's all hypothetical.
I like it.
With Syndicate coming up,
sounds like a good CrossFit Network guest,
Wilson.
Yeah,
I was going to try to get him
on, but he's so damn busy right now.
I would imagine.
He's got a couple of irons in the
fire.
And Xenom all going on at the same
time.
Yeah,
he's got a couple of irons in the
fire.
No big deal.
I guess it's set up just like decathlon
points in Olympics.
Exactly.
Peter, that is exactly it.
But a lot of,
a lot of people don't know how decathlon
points are awarded in the Olympics.
So I'm one of those people just saying
that doesn't help.
I'm one of those people have absolutely
the history of the decathlon.
They've only changed that scoring chart
twice.
Wow.
And that is the goal of Xenon,
to have put together a good enough scoring
chart where they will not need to change
it for many, many years.
Yeah, it's standardized.
I like that.
Yeah,
because you break the concept of trying to
break the record if you change the scoring
table.
Well,
and it's going to make it a whole
lot easier to follow from like a points
perspective.
Oh, he got this?
Cool.
You get that many points.
Yeah.
i like that a lot so it's uh
i think it's gonna be fun i i
don't know if they're going to stream it
or what that even looks like or maybe
they just stream those that those top
twenty who are going for this record it'd
be interesting yeah i doubt they stream
the whole thing
anyway um so that's the show for today
we're all around the map um as we
get to the end of the week we'll
probably like focus down into french
throwdown a little bit hopefully on
friday's show we'll actually have some
results from french throwdown because they
are six hours ahead of us or seven
um
I know London's six, I think.
So I don't know.
I don't know all the time zones over
there.
You're actually in Central,
so it's different for you.
It is seven fourteen p.m.
in Paris right now.
So six hours ahead.
For me.
Yeah, seven hours for me.
Yep.
All right, guys.
Don't forget to get your thirdsie.
Don't forget to like and subscribe.
Use code Jazzy.
Don't have to do that when you like
and subscribe.
You just have to hit the button.
You know what, though?
If you say Jazzy while you like and
subscribe, an angel gets its wings.
There you go.
With that, I have nothing better to say.
Hope you guys have a great day.
Bye now.
From the gym to the screen, yeah,
we covering
