Science and technology are rapidly transforming not only how we work and how we live, but how our nation conducts the business of intelligence. Launched in 2006 by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Intelligence Advanced Research Project Activity, IARPA, invests in high-risk/high- payoff research to tackle some of the Intelligence Community’s most difficult challenges.

Since its founding, IARPA has been at the forefront of innovation, sponsoring research that has the potential to push the boundaries of science. This approach often
means starting with an idea that seems impossible then moving from this state of disbelief to a state of just enough skepticism or doubt that bringing together some of the best and brightest minds might allow us to redefine what’s possible.

This podcast series will explore the history and accomplishments of IARPA through the lens of some of its most impactful programs and the thought leaders behind them. We’ll use artificial intelligence to navigate to the moon and back on an unmanned autonomous vehicle. Delve into the structure of the mouse brain to reverse engineer machine learning algorithms. Unpack the science of predicting the future, and much more.

This is IARPA: Disbelief to Doubt.
