Your soul called - are you ready to answer?
Welcome to Your Soul Called. A podcast for those feeling like there's something more. More alignment, more purpose, more peace, more connection, more joy. I'm Nicole your host. Each week we explore the invisible things that shape our lives, our intuition, our energy, our emotions and the lessons we came here to learn.
Nicole:Through personal stories, meaningful conversations and practical tools my hope is that every episode helps you trust yourself a little bit more, love yourself a little deeper and remember something your soul has always known. So without further ado let's dive in! Today I'm going to share my personal story of how I became an intuitive because I thought you might find it interesting and it's so crazy that I'm here right now and if you had told me ten years ago that I would be doing intuitive psychic readings for people and talking to animals and talking to dead people and talking to trees I honestly would have laughed, spit my coffee out in your face and been like bullshit because that just sounds absolutely nuts. It's not because I don't believe in intuition I've literally always been into this kind of stuff but it's just because I never imagined this could possibly become my life. But looking back at it now, I can see how my entire life was quietly preparing me for this, setting me up for it.
Nicole:I wonder if that might be the truth for you too because if you're listening to this, you're probably attracted to this kind of thing in the same way that I was and maybe the things you've always dismissed about yourself weren't flaws maybe they're clues maybe they're your most powerful parts of you and so I'm going tell you my story and maybe you can relate and you can see how this kind of stuff it has always been in the books for you too so when I was a kid I thought I was just sensitive. I've said this before, but I mean, I always knew I was sensitive. People used to tell me that I could feel everyone's emotions around me literally as though I was them. And because of this I was more quiet and I thought I was shy and I've always been under the impression that I was shy people would tell me that. I remember a teacher even giving me a book called Little Miss Shy and it felt like a bad thing like being shy wasn't good you know and I used to feel overwhelmed a lot I was overwhelmed because I was picking up on everyone's emotions around me and taking them as my own.
Nicole:When I was doing this, I also felt like I needed to fix everything and everyone around me because when I would feel that someone around me, like a parent or a sibling or a friend was sad, I would feel the depth of their sadness as though it were my own and then I would want to fix it. I'd want to make them feel better. I didn't know how to not fix it. So I found myself in this constant state of trying to make everyone else okay and I didn't know how to do that or how to deal with all of the stuff that I was picking up on. And I thought that was normal.
Nicole:I thought everybody felt these things. I didn't know that maybe it was just me. I mean, I think everybody can pick up on emotions, but I was feeling it extra. Like, I could walk into a room or a space and I could tell immediately who was feeling what. And I would want to care for the person that wasn't feeling good.
Nicole:That was like my everyday experience. Then when I became a teenager, that's when I kind of started exploring and looking. I became literally obsessed with the spirituality section of borders. I would look at all of the books and just sit there. And they had these big chairs, and you could just get a book out and look at them.
Nicole:I would do this. And I would buy these books, every single book I could find and read. I could be I was so into learning and understanding everything I possibly could. I also went bananas on astrology. I think I was, like, 15 maybe I discovered 14 even astrology and I was like oh my god this is so cool!
Nicole:I started obsessively learning about the stars and what different signs mean and how they fit together and relationships and all of that. I thought it was making sense of who I was. I also got really into poetry. I got really, really curious about everything. I was trying to figure out how this world works, why I was feeling all the things I was feeling.
Nicole:I was, like, super into art, and I was obsessing over energy, understanding energy, under understanding spirituality. I got into yoga. I would read constantly. I can't tell you how many books I have from Louise Hayes to Rumi to Abraham Hicks. Obsessed with Abraham Hicks.
Nicole:I like I loved learning this stuff. I thought it was so so interesting. I couldn't get enough of it. But what was really happening is that I was obsessed with understanding how the world works, how energy works, and why humans are the way we are. This has been something I've always been very, very into, and I only got more and more into it, like, as I got older.
Nicole:But I had been building this foundation since I was like 12. I've been into this stuff and I still love it. So then in my 30s, that's when I think I experienced the unraveling. Maybe even like my mid twenties. I was looking for messages outside of me.
Nicole:I would see psychics. Literally pay money to see these psychics, and I was basically looking for answers like, tell me what's going on in my life. Someone heal me but what I really needed to learn and what actually ended up happening eventually is that I needed to learn how to hear myself but in my 20s, I just, I didn't know how to do that yet And how this all came about is, like, once I stepped outside of the home that I lived in, that's when I started to realize, like, holy crap. This is not normal. Not every I thought this was normal.
Nicole:Like, everyone lived like this, but not that's not true. All of the beliefs I had taken on, all of this stuff that I was carrying, it wasn't mine, and I didn't know what to do with it. You know? Like, I didn't I had to learn and begin this journey of unraveling all of the trauma that I experienced and had taken on and was carrying and there was a long period of time maybe even like a decade, where I just felt broken. And I began this very long, journey of healing.
Nicole:Started with therapy, moved on to life coaching, but it was like a consistent everyday tearing everything open and exploring what was going on inside of me and during this time period I learned that this is the stuff that I teach you guys like because it took me so much exploration so much you know so much work to learn all this stuff I had to learn that my emotions weren't me. They're separate from me. I had to learn that my thoughts weren't facts. They're separate and I have control over them. I had to learn how to love little me, little Nicole, little five year old me.
Nicole:I had never learned how to love her. I didn't even know how to love myself. I had to teach myself to love myself. I had to learn to love my inner child, little me all the way through big me. You know?
Nicole:I had to learn how to slow down because for all of my life I've been achievement after achievement after achievement trying to prove my worth. I had to learn that my value wasn't external. I was already valuable just as I was. I didn't have to prove anything to become more worthy than how how worthy I've had been since I was a baby. You are born worthy.
Nicole:You're born valuable. You are always enough. I had to learn that. I had to learn how to sit with myself. You know how to really care for myself.
Nicole:I had to learn to stop abandoning myself something that I didn't even know I was doing. I had to consciously become aware of the care, the self care I was giving to myself and all of this stuff needed to be mastered which is why I had the great unraveling like my life fell apart. I was a mess for a decade. In the best way because all of this taught me all of these tools that allow me to be where I am now and I needed all of this to be mastered before I could ever become a great intuitive and this is what my soul was meant to do and if I didn't learn any of this you know I would not be able to do what I'm doing now. And I didn't learn any of this from my parents.
Nicole:They didn't teach me how to love myself in the way I had to teach myself. It was all self taught. On purpose. My soul planned this for me on purpose because now I had to really dig in and understand this on the deepest level now I can teach it to others and help them to heal too. Looking back, it was all prepping me for intuition training.
Nicole:I just didn't know it. I couldn't see it. I was in the thick of it. And now I see. Oh yeah, I get it.
Nicole:I get why all of that happened. I get why I used to have panic attacks. I get why I had that bipolar boyfriend. I get why I could go on. I've been through it.
Nicole:So now, people ask me all the time, how did you become an intuitive? And yes, I did train. I practiced I practiced I practiced every single day all day long I'm consistently getting better tuning in my skills I'm always practicing but you know if I'm really honest and also yeah I've learned from some of the best teachers I have trained but if I'm being really honest I don't think I became intuitive I think it's always been in me I just wasn't ready until recently to really step into it fully. To step into what had always been there. All of us, all of us, every single one of us humans have intuition.
Nicole:It's not a gift that only a few special people have. I honestly believe that. I think it's part of being human. Some of us are just naturally more sensitive. Some of us have spent years reconnecting to it like me, but it's available to everyone to all of us and it's something that you need to start paying attention to and it's like that hunch where you have a hunch that oh I shouldn't buy this yet and then you wait a week and then it goes on sale you're like yes or like that hunch that someone's about to call you and then they do These little moments seemingly insignificant that are really significant that you learn to train and explore.
Nicole:We all have them. We all have these abilities. So, maybe instead of asking yourself Am I intuitive? Maybe ask what part of me have I stopped listening to? Because I have a feeling that your soul has been speaking to you all along.
Nicole:Everything around you is always speaking to you. You are so connected. You have so much power. You are so magical. I don't know how else to explain it.
Nicole:It's magic that you have within you that everyone has that, you know, it's just waiting for you to trust what's what's been in you all along. It's just waiting for you to hear what it's what it's been saying. And once you learn to, like, open up to it, your your world will kind of explode in the best possible way. But you are never alone. We are never on this life journey alone.
Nicole:We are always being guided. We are always being led. Everything is always unfolding for us in our highest good and Once you start to understand this, you'll start to see how it's all actually working out for you. It always has been. It always is.
Nicole:That's always the case. All of the terrible things that happen in our life that feel like level 10 traumas they're all for us. All of us have the ability to step into the person that we came here to become and it's not anything less than who you already are right now. You are always worthy. You are always valuable.
Nicole:You are always perfect. You came in as this perfect little baby and grew up to be this perfect little five year old. You were perfect as a teenager. You were perfect when you were crying on the bathroom floor and it felt like everything was falling apart in the same way that you are perfect right now. I think that's what a lot of us forget and that is something that intuition training has reminded me of and brought me back to full circle.
Nicole:All of the times that I felt I was broken I was never broken. This was all being set up for me. All of the experience that made me feel disconnected from my soul that's all it was it was a disconnection. It wasn't that I was actually broken. I was never broken.
Nicole:I was just finding my way back home. And this is what's happening for all of us. We're all on a journey, we're all on a path, and we're all figuring it out. And we're all supported. That's the big thing to remember.
Nicole:We're all supported in this and now that I have my intuition, this magical part of me that I can use to do all this stuff like give people readings, talk to animals, test percentages of everything like you know which what I've been using my intuition for lately which has been so helpful because I'm building a house is like which paint color will I love the most in twenty years or which painter do I hire that is going to give me the best value for the money spent? Or how much money should I spend on this? Should I spend $10,000 or is it worth spending 8,000 am I going get the value? I test all this stuff. This is like the magic that we all have within us and I know that seems stupid like what do you need that for well it's so helpful you can use it for everything and soon I will do a little teaching on how to use intuition yourself and I would love to hear from you if you think that would be valuable but for this episode I just wanted to give you a little story of how I got here and how it was all set up for me in the same way that it's all set up for you so I hope you guys got something out of that.
Nicole:I hope you have a great weekend and I want you to remember if you take away anything from this episode that all of your life from the time you were born until now it was all being set up for you. There are traumas that will happen there are you know curiosities that will unfold the path is being laid out and you can't always see it sometimes the the thick of the bushes get high and you can't see out and it feels like you don't know where you're going but you actually are always being guided and it's always opening up a little bit at a time for you and it's perfect. The path unfolding is perfect, you are perfect, It's all a part of a bigger plan that you set out for yourself. You've made this plan before you came onto this earth. You're like, here's what I'm coming here to do.
Nicole:I'm coming here to experience this. I I ended the last lifetime here. I'm coming back and coming in this lifetime to learn these lessons. To become this version of myself. To expand in these ways.
Nicole:To up my frequency to this level. You decided that ahead of time. You set all of it up for yourself and now it's happening. It's unfolding and it's all working out for you. Alright guys, that's what I got for you today.
Nicole:I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you next week. Bye for now!
