Julia Carmen (00:07):
Ola, welcome back to the Indigenous Wisdom Podcast. Every week we talk about ways we are doing our soul work in our lives. And today I'd like to explore one of the frameworks I use to support you in your soul's journey. The timeline. Our retreats always have a theme here at the School Without Walls, and we often work with the timeline as part of our gatherings, but what is the timeline? Why would you want one? And how can you control it if you want to control it? Today, I'll be talking about that. RMA 2025 retreat in Napa is all about the timeline. So if today's conversation captures your curiosity, I'd love to have you join me there. We have a few spaces remaining. Come and join us. Gosh, you can find all the details on our website, the School Without Walls net. Okay, let's explore the timeline together. What is the timeline? Now, I've been thinking about this and how I can share this with you folks because it's a bit of a challenge to share something like that, right? Yeah. So what is the timeline, right? And so it's time and space. We try to explain meet at a time through when we see out to our glasses, glasses, glasses, a compass maps, hourglass calendars, your watch clock, like gauging time, I guess you call it linear time.
(02:10):
And then through other ways that we look at time or even our timeline is through, or the letters we used to write, maybe emails or people save too many emails, but our journals and writings of our lives, we look to save time in a bottle, like hold it, but there is no time because once a moment leaves, it becomes the past. And when we look forward, let's say you're looking forward to blah, blah, I always say blah, blah. Cause I don't know. Okay, I'll use some examples like a vacation or if you're working Monday through Friday waiting for, or whenever you're working, you're waiting for your days off or when you get off from work or when you leave work and stuff like that. And in all reality, there is only now, right? That's it.
(03:17):
So when I talk about a timeline and the reference that I use it and how it came to be was, and I'm hemming and ham because I'm like, okay, a lot of these recordings, the podcasts that I do, I ask my nonphysical folks, my peeps, my angels guides, my ancestors to come and join me in the moment. Sometimes I'm not quite sure what they're going to share because when you folks are listening, they know, but I don't, they pretty much know who's listening, whether you understand that or not, if this resonates with you and say, oh, I know what she's talking about. So I just want to remind you folks, remind us all as humans in the human brain, whatever we put in the human brain, which amazing, right? Yeah. If we didn't put it in there, if we didn't learn it, learn it. If we didn't study it or we didn't get the info from someone, it's pretty much what we have in our brain. So what I'm going to share with you is not something that the brain's going to go, what is she talking about? I don't understand. Because the non-physical realm of being the nothingness of the present moment does not have any words. So I'm going to bring words into something that in the nonphysical realm really doesn't have words to it. So I'm going to do my best here.
(05:01):
So a timeline and reference that I share with you folks, I know folks hint, the people in general, like the over culture and a lot of over culture. I'm not going to say just in western culture, but kind of sort of, yes. Yeah. Have this thinking that whatever it is that you see, that's what exists. Whatever it is that you feel, that's what exists. Whatever it is that you smell, that's what it's whatever it's that you touch, that's what whatever it is that you hear, that's what I invite you to do, is to understand if you don't already, because it's annoying within that's already there. And then it's a constant understanding and constant knowing within that brings out to the realm of the all. Yeah. Again, if none of this makes sense to you, kind of just hang out with me here for a second.
(06:08):
And if you're listening to this and you've been listening to quite a few of these, then you'll kind of get the gist of it. So timeline, when we do the work in any of the retreats, what I do is I usually ask folks, Hey, you know what? Let's work on, and I used to work, work and word. So work would be whatever you present to the group, whatever you present to, whatever it's you bring to the table. So that's your work, quote unquote, right? The word is what it is that we are going to bring in from the nonphysical. Remember, the nonphysical kind of don't have words. So we're going to bring the nonphysical into the word of the human realm. So as soon as we do that, things start shift. When I say shifting, then each person in the room has a thinking around it. Through those five senses, what we do is I hopefully facilitate folks to see, when I say, see, I'm not talking about the physical eyes to see, have an understanding, bringing that knowing within from the non-physical to the physical. So people work on different things. They look at things differently in their own lives. I'll just give you some examples. Everyone's looking for something out there. If you're human, you do, you get up in the morning, you're looking for the bathroom, I don't know what else to put that, whatever.
(07:56):
So whatever people bring to a retreat, I say, okay, now how many years would you like to, or months would you like to look into the future? And then what I do is actually beforehand set it up. So the frequency and energy in the room or around the folks around us have some people call it the field. I call it unconditional love of self, which needs to come from I first. And then the container, which is the school without walls. The container of the school without walls is unconditional love, unconditional trust in that. So if you can look at it as a bubble, and so I'm going to make up a name and I'm going to name her. I'll just name her Josefina. So Josefina comes to the group and she's 45 years old. Again, I'm making this up and she's looking and she's not really fully in her fullness of self.
(09:20):
That's what she's sharing with us. So Josefina is saying, I love pretty much everything I'm doing right now, but I feel like there's something missing and I would like to look into the future of what for the next, I'm going to make this the next two years or next year. Let's just do one year and says, okay, so what I do is what we do is depending on the group, usually I just get 12 pieces of blank paper with nothing on them. This is just a very general overview. And then we mark them one through 12, and then you have a circle of folks around you, the other participants, and they circle around. And then it's kind of similar to the magical papers. So we asked Josefina to stand on year one, and in that moment when she stands on year one, she's in year one, and whatever it is that she's saying singing, it'll just come through her from that non-physical realm of being.
(10:37):
And we usually have somebody scribing what she's writing down, if not the whole group. And then we do year two, I mean month two, all the way to 12. And then we have her turn around and then just kind of look at it. And then in that moment, she is looking at 12 months and she has anchored herself into, and I'm using the word anchor into one if the each years. So then after each year we have her walk back into the present moment of the now, and then we gather her 12 sheets for that one year, and we do ceremony around that.
(11:37):
There's so much more involved because like the retreat that we're going to be doing in Napa, or any retreat that we do with the magical papers, I've actually done this with one person as a session, and we do that. Yeah, I know that's very vague as my peeps. Everybody's going, that's very vague, Julia, in the moment of time and space, when each person steps on their paper, they have access to that month. Everything. If the understanding is that we had, I had a podcast on the magical disc. The disc, right? Yeah. The disc on top of your head has all the info that you would ever need for this lifetime and other lifetime, not other lifetimes, but whatever.
(12:45):
How do you access that? Because there's so much info right? Through this timeline. That's how you do it in that stillness and the soul listening of self. You listen and you have others witnessing others being there for you to hold that space so that you see that which you need to see. So you embody it. So that information comes from the nonphysical into the physical realm, and you have your paper. You have other folks, depending on whether you decide to come back to more retreats or gather again with the same folks that will encourage you to stay on track. I don't know about you, but I know myself talking story with you folks. Yeah. I've done these timelines and the magical papers and the disc and all this personally, me, just myself. And there are times in my life where I'm like, really?
(14:05):
Is that really going to happen? Kind of deal. And the thing that I think a lot of us forget is that we have free will. We have choice whether we manifest that or not. So the nonphysical realm of being at times, it's created already for the physical realm of being. But if we shift that, if we decide in our human realm, you know what? I changed my mind, our guides are angels. The creator of all the great I am will say, okay, she wants to shift and change that. Let's do that. And it will shift and change in the nonphysical realm. Your disc on top of your head will record that which you need and want.
(15:13):
Somebody mentioned this destiny, or am I destined to do this? Yes and no. I think the important thing is to always remember in any timeline we have free will. One of the questions folks ask me, and that's how do I interact with my timeline once I'm done with the retreat or session or whatever, right? Yeah. And I said, going back there again, you hear me say this over and over again in the present moment, in that stillness of you. So whatever that is, I always mention, Hey, match the medicine. You match the medicine, which is your medicine, and you will know. You will definitely know my whole life, all of us, my whole life, my guides have followed me in all that I do and need. Have I listened always? No. And you would think I would, but because of that free will and because we're human, all of us get caught up in the human condition, I want to, let's see. I don't want to use the word challenge, and as soon as I say a word, humans, we grab it, right? I want to invite you to take some time out each day and explore you, what I mean, explore you as you match your medicine, whatever that is, walking out to the sunlight, walking out and seeing the stars communing with people that uplift you, and watching a movie that enriches you and soothes your nervous system, Waco, guaranteed you're going to get the information you need. It's not out there. It's all that we're talking about within.
(17:44):
And why should any of us care about what a timeline is? The way I look at it is why not? Why not actually care about it? It really helps. The dragonfly. I just want to share with you folks also timelines. The dragonfly that shows up. Chapter nine, the indigenous soul book that I have going Chapter nine is Jasper Dragonfly. I'm going to read you what Jasper says and give you a little bit more here before we close. Jasper Dragonfly is a rascal, very male, a coyote, the trickster. Go ahead and chase me and see how far you get. You will never catch me. Catch me. I always laugh at that because I cannot, right?
(18:57):
But you can try. I love Jasper. I think sometimes folks think of the trickster coyote. That kind of thing is like a negative, but if you could look at time how we're always trying to chase it, always trying to make it be something or do something or whatever. And in all reality, the only time we have is the now. So you could change time all you want frontwards and backwards. Yeah. Somebody once also asked me about are there other dragonflies that relate to the timeline besides Jasper? And I said, yeah, once you start seeing Jasper in that way of being, right, then you can flutter over here, flutter over there, and kind of check out all those different dragonflies. Yeah, check all 51. He's not number 52, but there's so many Yeah. That you could go chasing around and sit with it and be with it. So in closing, I just would love to share with you, really do love to share with you. When I was a little girl, there was this show called The Twilight Zone. That music always freaked me out. If you ever get a chance, go look at some of Rod Sterling.
(20:34):
Yeah, what a great writer, director, and all, all those stories in there. He basically what I would call jumping time in different dimensions, right? Part of the opening song is he talks and he talks about the different dimensions and what's real and what's not real, and I love the way it always had some kind of something in there. Not a good or bad, actually. It's like the nonphysical realm of being right has all the information and all the answers, and then when you bring it into the awareness of the consciousness of the present moment into the human realm, then it becomes something. Something. Yeah.
(21:28):
I also want to give a shout out to Josefina. I didn't thank her, especially when I went back and forth from year to month.
