[00:00:54 - 00:00:57] a spoiler free review spoiler free we will be monitoring the comments if
[00:00:57 - 00:01:04] somebody's like oh this person is this character canceled spoiler free review we

[00:01:07 - 00:01:10] if you're gonna go see the movie so comment below if you're going to see
[00:01:10 - 00:01:13] brand-new day or if you've already seen it and what you thought of it but yeah
[00:01:13 - 00:01:18] the spoiler free review we will drop a big episode Saturday that is probably
[00:01:18 - 00:01:23] gonna be longer than this obviously yeah for real but it will be all of our
[00:01:23 - 00:01:29] thoughts but for now I have a glowing review of this movie yeah it executed on
[00:01:29 - 00:01:33] everything I thought it wouldn't more yes I I guess like let's start with this
[00:01:33 - 00:01:36] question okay that's all right with you should you go see this in a movie
[00:01:36 - 00:01:41] theater hundred and ten percent most people probably already are and like if
[00:01:41 - 00:01:44] you click on this video you probably are already going to go watch it yep
[00:01:44 - 00:01:49] but yes you should go see this in a movie theater I this is weird to say
[00:01:49 - 00:01:54] it kind of sucks that we couldn't go see this in IMAX I agree like and I love
[00:01:54 - 00:01:58] the Odyssey glad it has the IMAX also Tom also Tom Holland and Zendaya
[00:01:58 - 00:02:03] whatever but also it would be cool to see some of these sequences in IMAX yeah
[00:02:03 - 00:02:06] I agree maybe they'll do a re-release one day but this is worth seeing on a big
[00:02:06 - 00:02:10] screen if you can our theater is packed our there was packed it's a good
[00:02:10 - 00:02:15] crowd it was awesome people were clapping people cheered just when the
[00:02:15 - 00:02:20] movie started it was great this movie made me feel like a high school kid again
[00:02:20 - 00:02:24] for sure I haven't felt that since I was a high school kid yeah I would
[00:02:24 - 00:02:29] completely agree yeah I had a great time with this movie non-spoiler I guess if
[00:02:29 - 00:02:34] you haven't seen our video that we did this a while back I talked a little bit
[00:02:34 - 00:02:37] about the trailer and some concerns that I have right this is just based
[00:02:37 - 00:02:40] on the trailer so this is like not a spoiler yeah there appears to be a
[00:02:40 - 00:02:44] lot going on in this movie let's just some of the people that are in this
[00:02:44 - 00:02:49] movie if you if you dare all right we have the Punisher yes we have Peter
[00:02:49 - 00:02:53] Parker himself okay we have Sadie Sakes mystery character yes complete mystery
[00:02:53 - 00:03:00] we don't we've no idea who she is nobody knew nobody knows we have the Hulk yes we
[00:03:00 - 00:03:05] have Tramel Tillman yes we have I'm trying to think what else is in the
[00:03:05 - 00:03:08] trailer Scorpion Scorpion and then all the other like side villains that are
[00:03:08 - 00:03:15] referenced the hand is in it here yeah a lot going on here but all my so my
[00:03:15 - 00:03:19] concerns are centered around like is this going to be overstuffed right we also
[00:03:19 - 00:03:22] have like I mean in the trailers just a little bit of like what is going on with
[00:03:22 - 00:03:28] Peter right weird arc weird arc there and then you have net and MJ yep does
[00:03:28 - 00:03:33] it's a lot it's a lot in it like on paper I feel like I had good reasons to be
[00:03:33 - 00:03:36] concerned on paper I don't think it should work here's the thing this
[00:03:36 - 00:03:42] movie makes it work I agree is it perfect probably not does the movie spend a
[00:03:42 - 00:03:46] little too much time here or there maybe but like this would be worse yeah there's
[00:03:46 - 00:03:50] a lot going on and it feels like kind of like everything has agency yeah I agree
[00:03:50 - 00:03:55] I think it feels very much like nothing overstays it's welcome yeah I would
[00:03:55 - 00:03:58] agree with that nothing feels forced which is what I was worried about I
[00:03:58 - 00:04:01] don't know if you worry about this but oh yeah I was totally concerned like the
[00:04:01 - 00:04:06] nostalgia bait we're gonna put Mark Ruffalo in the trailer and John
[00:04:06 - 00:04:10] Bernthal cuz we can it doesn't feel like that in the movie no yeah for sure I
[00:04:10 - 00:04:15] mean it is fun it feels like a comic book and like you are watching fun team ups
[00:04:15 - 00:04:20] but they also make sense within itself 100% even if it's like yeah okay we have
[00:04:20 - 00:04:24] the Punisher inspired man team up because we want them to team up but then
[00:04:24 - 00:04:27] within the movie it works right 100% so I'm not gonna knock the movie I think
[00:04:27 - 00:04:31] there's an emotional core to this movie yep that we won't dive into here but
[00:04:31 - 00:04:37] like that is present and I think this is also something you could have gathered
[00:04:37 - 00:04:40] from the trailer but this movie deals with the fallout from no way home well
[00:04:40 - 00:04:44] yeah I think it deals with it phenomenally so it's hard not to say
[00:04:44 - 00:04:50] spoilers but yeah I think one thing I have two things in my head right now
[00:04:50 - 00:04:56] but why I think when you have a story well this is a problem that I have
[00:04:56 - 00:05:00] with a lot of modern superhero movies or just superhero movies in general but
[00:05:00 - 00:05:05] the third act feels like a third act with no emotional stakes and you're like
[00:05:05 - 00:05:11] oh fun CGI battle and believe me move on with our day and that's fine when you
[00:05:11 - 00:05:18] pair your themes and your plot together and weave them and have your third act
[00:05:18 - 00:05:23] and not only hit the spectacle element and wrapping up your plot but also
[00:05:23 - 00:05:27] wrapping up your themes yeah this is something invincible does phenomenally I
[00:05:27 - 00:05:32] would agree each fight is motivated and has thematic purpose under the plot even
[00:05:32 - 00:05:36] if there's no power scaling which we will raise an issue with invincible but like
[00:05:36 - 00:05:40] I still think that this movie does a great job of well one is have a villain
[00:05:40 - 00:05:44] problem if anybody was concerned like true does this have the classic superhero
[00:05:44 - 00:05:50] movie villain problem I would say no but then yeah like there's emotion and
[00:05:50 - 00:05:55] growth is it the deepest movie of all time no is it the best Spider-Man
[00:05:55 - 00:06:01] character progression no but I think it's so good art I don't think it is but
[00:06:01 - 00:06:06] an argument I could hear an argument I think this movie it takes its time like
[00:06:06 - 00:06:11] it stuff occurs though and it feels like again it has agency is meaningful so
[00:06:11 - 00:06:15] I agree yeah another just shifting to the technical elements I want to hear
[00:06:15 - 00:06:19] your thoughts on this but it looks pretty good it looks fantastic the suit
[00:06:20 - 00:06:26] looks good a desk and Daniel Cretan has added the mark web honestly he's blended
[00:06:26 - 00:06:32] web and Raimi and created something that it feels unique enough but also it's in
[00:06:32 - 00:06:36] the MCU it's in the MCU and it feels very Spider-Man yeah it's I mean these
[00:06:36 - 00:06:40] are the best webs slinging sequences we've seen on screen at least since
[00:06:40 - 00:06:46] Tazim 2 if not Tazim 1 like it's it's really good web stuff there's a lot
[00:06:46 - 00:06:50] taken from the insomniac games which if you've done any research online that's
[00:06:50 - 00:06:54] what people are saying it's true there's a lot of sequences there was so many
[00:06:54 - 00:07:00] references as a massive Spider-Man fan yeah that I loved it was great um yeah
[00:07:00 - 00:07:04] again like the visual there's a lot that they shot like for real like there's
[00:07:04 - 00:07:08] right outside which like it sucks that you kind of have to say that in
[00:07:08 - 00:07:13] 2026 like oh man it's cool that they shot this outside in a real place but
[00:07:13 - 00:07:17] like also yeah it's cool it's it's a good thing that I did for this movie
[00:07:17 - 00:07:22] Berthold John Berthold Tom Holland chemistry was hyped I thought it was
[00:07:22 - 00:07:26] funnier it was funny than I thought it would be I would agree I think bless you
[00:07:26 - 00:07:29] I think I got a sick guys I'm sorry it's okay I think John Berthold is
[00:07:29 - 00:07:34] obviously great as the Punisher he is great as Frank Castle yeah and he's
[00:07:34 - 00:07:40] great in this movie so I think it's a testament to this movie though that he
[00:07:40 - 00:07:45] doesn't stick out like a sore thumb yeah in an unintentional way yeah I think Bruce
[00:07:45 - 00:07:49] Banner fits into this movie well I think Ned and MJ fit into this movie well I
[00:07:49 - 00:07:52] mean like if you dive into it I think every part of this movie really works
[00:07:52 - 00:08:00] so the script feels very it just knows what it's doing that sounds really
[00:08:00 - 00:08:05] weird to say I feel like but like some scripts meander and like it's very
[00:08:05 - 00:08:08] easy to tell that in a writer's room it's almost like hey what if we had
[00:08:08 - 00:08:14] X character here but it's like this feels like we started with the themes and we
[00:08:14 - 00:08:19] built this whole thing around the themes which I think is how you should what
[00:08:19 - 00:08:24] you should do as a writer for sure I think I did some digging on some other
[00:08:24 - 00:08:29] reviews like there were some negative ones out there I think Indie wire is
[00:08:29 - 00:08:33] pretty low variety was pretty low on this movie I think you got to think
[00:08:33 - 00:08:38] about expectations here like for starters this is a superhero blockbuster
[00:08:38 - 00:08:44] movie so like at a certain point you're watching two characters that have other
[00:08:44 - 00:08:49] movies and television shows team up at certain points right like you just got
[00:08:49 - 00:08:54] to call it for what it is and accept that and then like yes there's going to be
[00:08:54 - 00:08:59] some setup for future projects I think that this movie doesn't exist just to
[00:08:59 - 00:09:03] set up future stuff I agree like is there more story itself or a lot of
[00:09:03 - 00:09:09] the characters on screen for sure but like within the movie itself it all works
[00:09:09 - 00:09:13] and doesn't feel like pure setup and if anything you got me more invested in
[00:09:13 - 00:09:17] the MCU I know this is the first time that I was excited to save her post
[00:09:17 - 00:09:24] credit scene and I'm very very very long time yeah for real yeah I mean I know
[00:09:24 - 00:09:28] you liked Fantastic Four more than I did I mean I thought I thought it was
[00:09:28 - 00:09:32] good I didn't even think it was that good yeah this was a significant step
[00:09:32 - 00:09:36] up from a hundred percent almost a superhero thing I've seen on the silver
[00:09:36 - 00:09:41] screen in a while I agree so Destin Daniel Kredin please keep doing work please
[00:09:41 - 00:09:45] anywhere Spider-Man but I liked Wonder Man a lot too so just keep one amazing
[00:09:45 - 00:09:50] too is confirmed yes I'm excited for that but I think he's he's kind of got a
[00:09:50 - 00:09:54] might as such right now going like he's great he crushed it this movie is
[00:09:54 - 00:09:58] fantastic go see in theaters I have one question for you then I want to do
[00:09:58 - 00:10:02] our stole my line right I think we should and this is like more of an open
[00:10:02 - 00:10:08] into question okay Tom Holland yep Toby McGuire oh lord Andrew Garfield this is
[00:10:08 - 00:10:13] not a definitive like who is the best right now okay but I think as time has
[00:10:13 - 00:10:17] gone on people have soured on the homecoming trilogy a little bit yeah
[00:10:17 - 00:10:21] which is fair how do you feel like Tom Holland Spider-Man is shaping up in
[00:10:21 - 00:10:26] the best Spider-Man conversation after brand-new day or maybe do you think
[00:10:26 - 00:10:30] he takes a step in the right direction I think he definitely takes a step in the
[00:10:30 - 00:10:38] right direction and again I said this on the no way home episode which if you're
[00:10:38 - 00:10:42] watching this video a time of release isn't out yet it comes out later today
[00:10:42 - 00:10:50] yes um no way home is the setup for this movie obviously yep but also this
[00:10:50 - 00:10:58] movie is very referential to the homecoming trilogy for sure and it made me
[00:10:58 - 00:11:05] appreciate what the homecoming trilogy did unintentionally and poorly by the way
[00:11:05 - 00:11:11] but also like the homecoming trilogy was a stumble and then Desmond Andrew
[00:11:11 - 00:11:16] Cretan rocked up and picked up the stumble and is now sprinting and is
[00:11:16 - 00:11:20] still winning the race as the homecoming trilogy apologists that
[00:11:20 - 00:11:23] Drew has called me on the spot that's true which by the way I think far from home
[00:11:23 - 00:11:27] is pretty bad like there's some bad stuff in there I don't think the trilogy
[00:11:27 - 00:11:32] is good but I do think that this movie takes the best parts of that I agree and
[00:11:32 - 00:11:36] says alright we're going to pull them into the future of Spider-Man yep and
[00:11:36 - 00:11:40] that kind of makes the homecoming trilogy better it does we can have that
[00:11:40 - 00:11:44] conversation Saturday we can but I I don't really know where I stand here
[00:11:44 - 00:11:48] yet we honestly might need to sleep on it yeah we just got out of the
[00:11:48 - 00:11:51] theater but I will say this movie does not work well if the homecoming
[00:11:51 - 00:11:55] trilogy does not exist I agree at least homecoming and no way home far from home
[00:11:55 - 00:11:59] is still a little I can it's reference but barely it is barely barely for sure
[00:11:59 - 00:12:04] um I don't know so my line ranking are you ready for that yep if you knew the
[00:12:04 - 00:12:09] channel thank you for being here we have this slightly unique rating system do
[00:12:09 - 00:12:11] you want to explain it for I would love to yeah also if you're new and
[00:12:11 - 00:12:16] you're like I want your brand new day review now patience yes but also
[00:12:16 - 00:12:20] gratification we've reviewed every Spider-Man movie my back should watch so
[00:12:20 - 00:12:23] you got stuff to you guys have to catch up on if you're really into this vibe if
[00:12:23 - 00:12:28] you have a hot take about Spider-Man you can comment it below on this video and
[00:12:28 - 00:12:32] we may talk about it yeah that's our goal and subscribe just while you're
[00:12:32 - 00:12:36] here toss that in there too all right here's our ranking we have buy it on
[00:12:36 - 00:12:39] blu-ray which is our highest quality of ranking we have go see it in a
[00:12:39 - 00:12:43] theater go stream it on a paid streaming service go stream it on a
[00:12:44 - 00:12:50] free to be your mom's Disney plus type vibe and then avoid a lot costs don't
[00:12:50 - 00:12:53] even purchase it in a thrift store and that's where we're slotting this move
[00:12:53 - 00:12:57] correct no I have my answer it's not gonna surprise you but I want you to go
[00:12:57 - 00:13:03] first I think I'm between movie and blu-ray which like sounds like we're
[00:13:03 - 00:13:08] really high on this film one like we might come back down to earth later
[00:13:08 - 00:13:14] but I think like this is genuinely a pretty good movie I would say for me I'm
[00:13:14 - 00:13:17] gonna say theater but you're gonna say blu-ray I am gonna say blu-ray and I'm
[00:13:17 - 00:13:21] okay with saying blu-ray okay cuz I think this is very rewatchable I think
[00:13:21 - 00:13:26] it's very rough I'm I will before we film our big episode I will have seen
[00:13:26 - 00:13:30] it again and I'm seeing it I have I've purchased three tickets we wow for this
[00:13:30 - 00:13:35] like we're already already that's crazy I know it is update that ranking if
[00:13:35 - 00:13:38] we feel the need to but I feel good about that like this is I agree a
[00:13:38 - 00:13:43] rewatchable Spider-Man movie for sure this has like at times really good film
[00:13:43 - 00:13:48] making quality that's like there's value in that how does it fit within the
[00:13:48 - 00:13:54] greater MCU within the greater Spider-Man universe TBD because we don't
[00:13:54 - 00:13:56] really know where we're going but for this movie specifically it's pretty good
[00:13:56 - 00:14:01] I agree so I don't really have anything else to say on this movie besides go
[00:14:01 - 00:14:04] watch it in a movie theater go watch it in a movie theater our big review
[00:14:04 - 00:14:10] will come out Saturday at one stay tuned Eastern time Eastern Eastern time it's
[00:14:10 - 00:14:14] gonna be lit yeah and if you like Spider-Man again please comment below your
[00:14:14 - 00:14:18] Spider-Man hot take we're gonna be doing that Spider-Man hot takes episode
[00:14:18 - 00:14:22] next week and we're still finishing up our other Spider-Man live-action
[00:14:22 - 00:14:25] marathon so you can go back and watch all those yep I think also we got
[00:14:25 - 00:14:29] going on it sold my line we have lanterns in August we have dune and
[00:14:29 - 00:14:36] doomsday social reckoning fjord play face clay face we have I play rocky I play
[00:14:36 - 00:14:40] rocky we're finishing House of the Dragon if you're into anything pop culture we
[00:14:40 - 00:14:46] join us up by the fire Ted lasso Ted lasso coming soon coming soon so kind of
[00:14:46 - 00:14:50] out of left field Loki but that's fine that's okay we'll take some Jason
[00:14:50 - 00:14:53] Sudakis yeah love it the fires dying so we probably should get out of here but
[00:14:53 - 00:14:58] thank you for tuning into this episode of so my line take a break and with
[00:14:58 - 00:15:03] great power comes great responsibility enjoy
