Let's dive into what's been happening across the Premier League. Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a thirty-five-million-pound bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to BBC Sport. Sean Dyche clearly wants to bolster his attacking options, and Mateta's physical presence could be exactly what Forest need to climb the table. Interestingly, Aston Villa were also linked with Mateta recently, so this could turn into a proper bidding war. Manchester City are keeping tabs on Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, per BBC Sport. Even with the best squad depth in the league, Pep Guardiola is apparently eyeing the England right-back, which feels a bit like Jeff Bezos window shopping at Harrods just because he can. It's worth noting there were earlier reports saying Alexander-Arnold wouldn't be leaving for Real Madrid, so perhaps City sense an opportunity. Tottenham could pay just five million pounds for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson, according to BBC Sport. Unai Emery clearly rates the midfielder's versatility, and a return to the Premier League could reignite Loftus-Cheek's career after his time abroad. Villa's recruitment has been excellent recently, so this feels like another smart move. Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate's contract situation reportedly isn't settled yet, according to BBC Sport. The French centre-back has been crucial when fit, and Liverpool will want to tie him down long-term given the uncertainty around other defensive positions. Chelsea are open to selling Enzo Fernandez, BBC Sport reports. It's remarkable that a player who cost over one hundred million pounds just a couple of years ago might already be heading for the exit under Liam Rosenior, but Chelsea's transfer strategy remains as unpredictable as British weather. Chelsea have also made a move for young talent Jacquet, according to BBC Sport. The club's commitment to stockpiling promising youngsters continues unabated, and you have to wonder if they've got a spare stadium somewhere just to house all these prospects. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is reportedly on Manchester United's radar, per BBC Sport. With Michael Carrick currently serving as interim manager, United are clearly exploring their options, and Glasner's work at Palace has been impressive enough to attract attention from bigger clubs. Aston Villa are eyeing a return for Tammy Abraham, BBC Sport reports. The striker came through Villa's academy system, and Unai Emery might see him as the perfect addition to lead the line, especially if he can recapture his best form. Atletico Madrid want Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to BBC Sport. Rob Edwards will be desperate to keep hold of the Brazilian, who's been one of Wolves' standout performers this season and exactly the sort of player you don't want to lose mid-campaign. Manchester City are preparing an offer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, BBC Sport reports. Pep Guardiola is clearly planning ahead for his defensive needs, and Guehi's composed performances have made him one of the most sought-after English defenders around. City have also made a move for Anderson, per BBC Sport, though details remain scarce on which Anderson we're talking about here, because let's be honest, there are quite a few footballers with that surname floating about. Everton are eyeing Arsenal's Ben White, according to BBC Sport. David Moyes would love to add White's quality to his backline, though prising him away from Mikel Arteta seems about as likely as finding a reasonably priced pint in London. Arsenal are monitoring Newcastle's Tino Livramento, BBC Sport reports. The young right-back has been excellent for Eddie Howe's side, and Arsenal's interest suggests they're thinking about long-term succession planning in that position. Mikel Arteta is also in the race to sign Marc Guehi, per BBC Sport, so Arsenal clearly have multiple defensive targets lined up. Bournemouth are keen on Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri, according to BBC Sport. The teenage midfielder is highly rated, and a loan move to Andoni Iraola's exciting Bournemouth side could be perfect for his development. Finally, Real Madrid have joined the race for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, BBC Sport reports.
