Let's Talk Football 1

Eloise: [00:00:00] Hi, I'm Eloise. Now let's talk football. First, we'll, taking a trip to upset City as we see the site of Vanderbilt beating Alabama 40 to 35. This was absolutely crazy. Who knew Vanderbilt would beat Alabama? An unmarked team like Vanderbilt, who's not really the best, would beat number one. Alabama and Alabama was good.
This came out as a pretty crazy upset. Next we see. Site two. Where number four, Tennessee loses unranked, Arkansas, 19 to 14. Not as crazy as the Alabama lost, but still crazy. Something crazy is that Alabama and Tennessee both lost to people who have lost two games already. So interesting. Third, we had to number nine, Missouri versus number 25.
Texas a and m. Texas a and m pulled out a win against Missouri for another upset Missouri. That wasn't [00:01:00] as big as an upset as the Alabama and Tennessee one, but like it was still pretty crazy, especially since that, since Missouri kind of got destroyed, like legit lost 41 to 10. So that was a pretty crazy game and they lost by a ton, which was crazy.
And finally we stopped by UW versus number 10 at Michigan Game. Michigan is was the NCAA championship winners last year, and this was a rematch because U-Dub and Michigan played each other in the NCAA championship. And Michigan won that. So, but this, but that's not how this game turned out. UB defeated Michigan and got revenge.
The final score being 27 17 U-Dub UB uses that W and [00:02:00] UB to pull out a W. So that was nice to see UB win. I like, I like that. And then one more thing. Miami totally should have lost a cow. Cow was so close to beating them, but cow lost it at the end. Like they were legit beating them like 35 to 10, which they totally should have won.
And Miami only beat them by one point. So I really wish cow won, but whatever. But Miami also should have lost a previous week to Virginia Tech. So. It would've, it would've been a great upset if Cal won, but whatever. Thanks for joining our trip around upset city. Okay, now we head to NFL scores. So the Rams and the Packers faced off.
So Sunday, um, the rhythm season is not going the best. Let's just say that the rhythms now have a record of one in four. Uh, yikes. After losing to the Packers, uh, they lost to the Packers with a [00:03:00] score of 24 to 19. So, but the Rams have a bi week, so hopefully they can regroup and get together. And also two of the Rams star wide receivers, UA and Cooper Cup are injured, but they should be back in week seven, hopefully.
And oo, KU is my favorite search. Been sad not being able to see 'em play and see. The Rams not doing the best, but they hope they can get it together. Okay. The Vikings and Jets, this was a really good game. They played in London, which was so cool. Um, the Vikings go to 5.0 after being the Jets. With the score of 2317.
Honestly, I'm surprised, like actually, like I was not expecting them to be this good this season. Like actually may have the same record as BYU right now, which is kinda case you to think about. But yeah, and for the Jets, Aaron Rogers is [00:04:00] getting old. He's pretty ancient, but hey, he just, just number and then.
The New York Giants versus the Seahawks. This was kind of a sad game for me. Um, along with the Rams game. I wanted the Seahawks to win and 'cause I like them 'cause I'm also live in Washington, so kind of gotta like them. Um, I would say the Seahawks played well. But not good enough. They ended up losing 29 to 20.
They had a good start, and now they've lost their pass ticket, which is sad, but they could still pick it up. They got this, um, the Reagan Ravens versus the Bengals. I won the Bengals to win because Ryan Rico plays for them, and he's like a w punter. But they lost. So the score ended up being 41 38. They went to overtime and the Ravens won.
But Kyle LER plays for the Ravens and he is pretty cool too. So, and he also played for BYU, that's why. [00:05:00] So at least one former BYU player won that game. This game went to overtime, so it was a pretty close game and really wish the bang was one, but that's okay. Calvin was pretty cool. So just some other scores.
The Broncos beat the radars 34 18 also for our BBYU player. Both. Um, the Colts lost to the Jaguar 3 7 34 kind of expected, uh, the four nine. Sally lost a close game to the Cardinals. 2324. The Bears beat the Panther 36 Ted Texas beat the Bills 2320. The Dolphins beat the Patriots with a score of 15 to 10 go dolphin dolphins.
They've had having a rough season, so I've kind of felt bad for them. And one of my friends is a Dolphins fan, so I run them to play well. And then the command commanders kind of crushed the Browns 34 13.[00:06:00]
And the Chiefs are playing against the Saints. Yay. My prediction is that the Saints are going to fight really hard and it's gonna be a close game, but I think the Chiefs are gonna win. 'cause I think they are a better team. But I think the Chiefs are not gonna win by it a lot, but it's gonna be like maybe a touchdown or a field goal.
So it's gonna be kind of close. And now we're heading to POW Player of the Week. The player of the week is Crew Wakeley, A BYU, safety in B'S game. It gets Baylor. The game was getting really close, like it was kind of scary in the fourth quarter after Bele, you got 21 points in the first quarter and started to get less points every quarter.
It was 34 28 as Baylor was on offense. Nearing the end of the game. Baylor was moving up the field. This is where BY U'S de defense really needed to shine. It was a good throw down the field a little bit when Crew Wakeley jumps in front and inner chefs the ball. Oh, so [00:07:00] wonderful crew Wakeley saved the game with about a minute.
Left be you had the ball and won the game. Thank goodness for Crew Wakeley who played so well on defense. And if Baylor put, if and if the Baylor PA Baylor player caught the ball. The Bears had a. Good chance of getting a touchback. So I'm really grateful for that interception. 'cause like I'd be sad at BYU what?
But now they're five and no. If BYU lost, I'd be sad. But BYU is five and no. Now let's go. I, so yeah, that's it for, let's talk football. Oh, actually one more thing. Scratch that part. We have the. College football rankings for week seven, so Texas is ranked number one. Ohio State is ranked second. Oregon is ranked third.
Penn State is ranked fourth. Georgia is ranked fifth. Miami is ranked sixth. Alabama is ranked seven. [00:08:00] Um, I think they should have gone down more after losing. To, uh, unranked team by five points. Like, and Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt's not very good, so I definitely think they should have gone down more. And then, um, Tennessee's number eight, they also should have gone down more after losing.
Um, why Can I not remember who they lost to? They lost to, oh, Arkansas. I mean, Arkansas is good. But they're, they're really in Vanderbilt. I would say so, but I still think they should have gone down more. I think both those teams should have gone down more. And then Ole Miss rank third. I'm at ranked ninth, sorry.
Um, Kleon ranked 10th. So Iowa State and Notre Dame ranked 11th LSU ranked 13th, BYU 14th. Let's go. Moving up. Yeah. [00:09:00] Um, Texas a ranked 15th, Utah ranked 16th. Boise State ranked 17th, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Kansas State ranked 18th. Um, Missouri ranked 21st. Missouri went downtown spots. That is crazy. I cannot believe it.
That is great. Uh, Pittsburgh ranked 22nd. Illinois ranked 23rd. Michigan ranked 24th. Let's go. They went down 14 spots. That's crazy. I actually cannot believe they went down that much. And then SMU make 25th. So those are the college rankings. Pretty crazy upsets this week, and I, and who knows, many more upsets will come.
And then we have some pretty good matchups coming up on Friday. We have Utah and Arizona State, [00:10:00] and then we have South Carolina Saturday morning against Alabama. Imagine if Alabama lost again. That'd be crazy. Okay. Um, and then we have Texas facing off against Oklahoma ou, so that's gonna be a good game.
Penn State's playing USC, I thought USC was ranked. Uh, guess not. Um, and then, um, BYU, let's plague Arizona. Let's go Cougs. And oh, OSU is facing Go. It's Oregon. That's gonna be a good game. Um, one of them's gonna have to lose, so it's gonna be great. Uh, actually, hmm. I don't know who I think could win or with that game.
That's gonna be a good game though. And that looks like it for big [00:11:00] Gabes coming up. So stay tuned for more and thanks for listening to Let's Talk Football.
